Hi

I got regular call from standard chartered bank kolkata[protected] for cedite card.
I denaied cause i don't want now. I had already applied (3 months before)for it, but it was not processed in their timeframe. Today morning i got call from them, to sign on a application from and they will issue the card. I said i don't want .They start abuseing me and drop the call. He said his name is subarto.

    Dear Sir,

    I have been thier customer since 1995 and have been regular in paying all my dues including a credit card loan of Rs 65000/- my card no is [protected]. I have settled the loan on telephonic confirmation since I was not given any written document of final closure inspite of several request and I paid Rs 53795/- by cheque no 0700138 drawn on HDFC bank Koramangala branch Bangalore and which is cleared on 16/08/2007 . In my next statement I found a balance of 4400/- to which I asked how the same arrived to which I received some precooked stories and I asked for a details in writing I have not received. I then received call from thier unprofessional agents in November 2007 whom they hire to haress defaulters from tel no [protected] who was using unprofessional and low level hindi language, the calls however stopped when I informed you customercare that I would go for police complaint or complaint in consumer forum.

    However recently I have started receiving call from your legal department in Mumbai who especially during quarter end that payment due is now 9000+ when asked for details in writing they informed that my card is blocked and statement cannot be generated then how come the charges are levied and they are further requesting me to settle by paying an adhoc amount . I would mention that so far they are descent in their behaviour . However I would like to mention that I feel the calls are made to achieve the quarter end targets and if they are insisting on settlement then the dues are not genuine, and they are blackmailing me that you name will be defaulters list and you wil not get any loan .

    I have written a copy of the complain to Bankingombudsman . please help

    My sister has had a similar experience. She had migrated overseas, paying off all dues as stated in Standard chartered statement. They had orally assured that they would be sending the closure statement soon. But she continued receiving balance statements, increasing day by day, adding interest to so called unpaid amounts. When she came back to india, she met the bank person and explained everything to him, to which he said the account will be closed once she pays a certain amount. She paid this amount also. When we demanded closure certificate, he said that he has informed us of the amount, as a special settlement, and still there is Rs5000 pending, though they will consider the account closed and not send any more demands. But we shall be treated as defaulters and intimated to the bankers council to get out credit rating in the negative. To avoid this, we needed to pay another Rs5000. We very strongly felt this was cheating of the first order, refused and filed a complaint. Till now we have not heard anything from the bank
    Hi,

    Good you have taken it up with Banking ombudsman, just make sure you have created enough proof in the form of letter, emails or statements. If possible ask for a letter through courier to say how did they collect the 50, 000 or so from you before? and what did they agree on the remaining payment.

    Ask them for a letter asking for the split up, even though they may not be able to generate statementss, ask them to give the break up in terms of latefee, interest etc before and after your settlement of 50K+.

    Build enough documentation, thats the key. Also have a mobile phone where you can record calls just incase they use foul languages, we can really go against them.

    Credit Card — Levi of charges

    i am very happy to say u that i am regurlar customer of your bank .and i have regular paid my due amt.
    but your bank charge very high charges in my card.

    but sorry to say and feel that your bank just find way to create source of finance. it is not to take care of customer . so i heartly request u to make such adjusment and take necessary steps for such matter.

    the matter is :- i only borrow arounding 6000rs but your bank again and againg levies charges on my account . and i have no ability to pay such amt bacause i am salary person and i use it for limited purpose although i have paid arounding15000rs for such charges .but i[censored] verify my statement u find that there is outstanding balance is arounding 31000 which is out of my ability .



    so, i heartly request you to inquire in such matter and make such steps .

      Standard CHEATING CHATER BANK

      SCB is a number one cheating bank...asking their credit card customers to pay for nothing.

      BAJAJ Allianz insurance guy came to me and representing him like a scb guy and there is some tie-up is there between 2 etc...I opted for life insurance policy...soon after 6 days I called SCB(2 time) and informed them not to make payment as I dont want to opt for insurance. SCB Customer care executive aggreed to to stop for the payment, but they processed the payment. I was out of station for 6 months when I cam I got 14K scb bill(10k + 4k interest)...I had a fought with SCB and bound to pay 4K, now buy the time I paid 4k probably they added some more interest amount...and called me after an year to pay 4k more for settlement. This time also I was out of station and my brother setteled this by going to their office.

      Now again I am getting call from these Un-ethical cheaters.

      GUYS beware of these STANDARD CHEATERS

        i had a credit card of standard charterd bank, my credit card number was [protected](s.krishnakumar)i got full and final settlement on 27/sep/08 letter no TRR[protected] for Rs 5000/-.now i came to know that my name still in cibil, to exclude my name from cibil i approched more than 4 times to customer care but i got poor and irresposible reply from there, due to their
        mistake i lost a career opportunity from a bank .hereby i am requesting you to take necessary steps in favour of me at the earliest, plz reply

          For Card No. [protected]
          There was an ECS setup with me for Rs. 1400 p.m. for a period of 3 years starting September 2005. After few EMI's were cleared my back account was closed down, and I continued to pay the EMIs everymonth by cash, and requested the collectors not to present a cheque/ecs. The Remaining balance at present is Rs. 5, 573.50 but the colectors have been presenting it as almost double the amount citing additional charges. At present a Mr. William (Says he is from a legal department) is asking for Rs.19, 000 instead of the actual Rs. 5, 573.50.
          He has been calling at any point of time, even at 10pm in the night and threating me with dire consequences if I dont pay the amount asked for. Recently he has started calling my office number which he has got hold of through some coercive means and has been causing chaos here in the office by calling several of my colleagues.
          I am not sure what I should do at this point, and request any assistance that I can get in regard to this problem.

          Harrasement — Harrasing my wife over phone

          There was a call to my wife in her mobile phone on 17-May-08 at around 13-30 hrs from the land-line no. [protected]. The person identified himself as 'Rocky' & said he wants to make friendship with her. When she threatened him of police, he said he has good contacts with Police. Later, when I called back in that no, we found it as TCS, a Tata group of company. It seems that, these companies has lost control over their employees . They recruit their employees with no ethical & social values. I apeal to trace out the person who called from this no[protected] at around 13-30 hrs & take strict action against him.

            I had a Standard chartered Master Gold Credit Card no:[protected].On fine day i was given a loan as special Merchandising Offer, for which i accepted.Latter on i made all payments on my credit card account before Due date.Now, the bank is showing a credit of Rs35000/-in my credit card account and they are showing debit in my the same statement on my special merchandising offer account no:[protected].When, the bank called me up for recovery i explained to them all the dtails of my payment.Latter, on they transfered the payment of credit card to my special merchandising account.But all other charges they levied on me with penalty they are still claiming.They kept on regularly calling me and harassing me, they even sent a recovery agent to my office, to them also i explained the same.Now, i have come to know that my name is in the CIBIL defaulter list.I have the copy of the statement i[censored] want me to attach, to know the clear scenario.

              I HAVE BEEN GIVEN AN EMIRATES PLATINUM CARD ON THE BASIS OF TITANIUM CARD I HAVE BEEN HOLIDNG ( CARD NO.: [protected]), IN THE MONTH OF AUGUST 2008. I WAS CHARGED A MEMBERSHIP FEE OF RS. 10, 000 PLUS SERVICE CHARGE WHICH I HAVE PROMPTLY PAID ON 11/10/2008 BY CHEQUE. I WAS GIVEN AN ASSURANCE BY THE TELEMARKETING EXECUTIVE OF YOUR BANK THAT I AM ENTITLED FOR A COMPLIMENTARY SKYWARD MILES WORTH RS. 25, 000/- WHICH WILL BE CREDITED TO MY ACCOUNT AS SOON AS I PAY MY MEMBERSHIP FEE. BUT FOR THIS OFFER, I WOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN THIS CARD AT ALL.

              NOW, I AM SORRY TO WRITE THAT INSPITE OF SO MANY PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS TO YOUR BANK NO ONE IS IN A POSITION TO TELL ME AS TO WHEN THIS SO CALLED SKYWARDS BONUS MILES WILL BE CREDITED TO MY ACCOUNT.

              SIR, I DO NOT WANT TO WAIT INDEFINITELY. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. NEITHER I WANT TO BE FOOLED BY YOUR BANK. I BELIEVE THIS IS A TRAP LAID BY THE BANK TO FOOL THE CUSTOMERS IN THIS TIME OF RECESSION.

              THEREFORE I HAVE CANCELLED THE ABOVE MENTIONED CARD WITH IMMIDIATE EFFECT. I HAVE CUT THE CARD INTO 4 PCS. NOW PL LET ME KNOW WHERE TO SEND IT BY COURIER.
              PLEASE ALSO REFUND THE MEMBERSHIP FEE AND SERVICE TAX (TOTAL RS. 11, 236/-) TO ME AS PROMPTLY AS I HAVE PAID TO YOU. NO MORE PHONE CALLS WILL BE ENTERTAINED IN THIS REGARD.

                I would like to bring to your notice that I am suddenly being harassed by calls from Standard Chartered Bank for payment against my credit card, closed more than 6 years ago.

                Here are the details:

                I received a call from Ms Priya from Delhi on 20th October 2008 from the phone number [protected], stating that she is from the legal department of Standard Chartered. She stated that I have a Standard Chartered Credit Card and there is some amount pending which needs immediate clearance. This shocked me, as I had paid all my bills and destroyed the card in the year 2001 and also requested to close the card. They had not informed any closure procedure and only advised me to destroy the card, which would be the end of it.

                As I didn’t have much know-how of it I believed them and destroyed the card. From then on I received a few statements with zero outstanding, but when I called up Standard Chartered bank to inform them that I had destroyed my card and asked them to close the account they just told to ignore the statements. I don’t remember when the last statement was sent to me but for the last 6 years I have not got any statements, or notice or calls from Standard Chartered bank. I am very sure about this as the address and phone number given was permanent and we have been staying there for the last 20 years.

                If according to them if I had defaulted why did the Standard Chartered wait for 6 years to contact me even when they had my contact details?. If I had received the same call somewhere in 2002 it would have been easy for me to produce the documentary evidence (bank statement etc.) stating that I have cleared all the pending balances. Now I realize that using a CC I will have to keep all the proofs of payment till my death or even beyond, so can be produced by my family or me whenever the bank calls up for checks.

                I had received numerous calls from the number above from different people (Mayank Malhotra, Priya, Kunal, Malathi) in different tones (request and threatening) to go to the nearest Standard Chartered bank and pay up what they call the settlement amount (which has been varying from the first call 17000, 15000, 4900). On asking them to send written information clarifying the details of the card, the purchase done and why have they not contacted me in this many years, they bluntly refuse. They say they can’t give any information and what they only can do is issue a settlement letter after I pay up the settlement amount. It’s only on my repeated request that they sent me an email from a gmail account with a word document as attachment. The document had only an extract of a computer display and address where I had to go and pay the outstanding or settlement amount

                Further to this I had send two registered post detailing my concerns and requesting information to the address given in the email which is Vijay Kumar Sharma Recovery Manager Standard Chartered amsri plaza 4th floor sd road secandrabad and to Priya Krishnaprakash, Head – Customer Care, Standard Chartered Bank, Customer Care Unit, 19, Rajaji Salai, Chennai 600 001. The registered post to the Hyderabad was returned.

                I had also emailed a copy to the customer care at Standard Chartered, for which I have received an auto email as acknowledgment. However till date I haven’t received any communication from Standard Chartered, neither did the calls end.

                It is great surprise how ill organized is Standard Chartered bank is and how unethical are the ways and means in dealing with Customers. They blatantly violate the RBI guidance on CC business.

                I would like to now take the issue with the banking ombudsman.
                Iam also facing the same problem. I took the card in 2001 and as per my knowledge i paid all the debts. I stopped using the card from 2003 onwards and I didnt receive any communication after that. Suddenly they called me in Feb-2008 and asked me to pay the debt amount. They refused to send me the statement showing the usage of the card. They compelled me to pay 1500/- towards settlement. I paid the amount and took receipt. Six months back they called me and started telling same old story. I gave the receipt number and date of payment, then they stopped calling me. Now they called me again and asked me to pay 1900/- to close the account. They are saying that I made a mistake by not taking the closing letter. When we paid the settlement amount, is it not the responsibility of bank to close the account and inform the customer? Iam still unable to understand the meaning of settlement. I think standard chartered is the most worst bank. I advise all the readers not to go for it. Other wise you will become a lifelong debtor to them and i think even after you die, they will not leave you.
                This is Jayesh Ramchandra Patel. From today in the morning some one Named Mr. Avashthi had caled up at my residance and told me that you have taken loan of Rs.3.10 Lacs and you are not paying. he told me that i m from legal deaprtment of Standard chartered bank. i was shocked because i don't have the credit card of thi bank and he was talked very rude and non-sense. contineously he had called up 9 time with in 5 min direerence and i hv tried my level bast to convience that you are getting the wrong information but he was not ready to even listen. i have ask him to give me the no. of tell me the person who has handover this case and finally he give me the no.[protected] and name the person Mr. shankar. i have fired him and fianlly he called up that he had talked with mr. avashi and he will not call you again.

                This is something very irritating and i don't know how the person without having correct inforamtion allowed to talk like that.

                I am facing a problem too. I had paid for a one year card enhancement package last year through SCCC(which I did not use). Before the end of that year, on the morning of 28th May, 2010, I emailed them saying I do not want the package to be sent to me. & that I wanted to close my LIFETIME PAID "TITANIUM CARD".
                GUESS WHAT? They proceeded to send it to me & charged me for the same.
                Though I refused to take delivery of the 1st package via BLUE DART in June, (I informed them via email--REPLY PENDING still), their customer care officer sent me an email yesterday, informing me that she is resending it.
                {Today, 13th July, I have refused once again to accept the package, resent through BLUE DART}
                All you people out there, lets approach the appropriate Consumer Forums so that other unsuspecting people dont fall into such traps.
                The common man must have protection. All INDIANS must be protected from
                such high handed arm-twisting
                "WE" have the whole world in our hands. Who needs Credit Cards?

                  kindly go through the mail which i send to customer care of the Standard chartered bank and there is no reply and no action at all.

                  when i verified my November salary credit status, i was shocked to see that they didnot corrected the second mistake also. and since two months i didnot got salary. You can imagine my position, as iam staying abroad with family of wife and three children with no salary since two months. i request you to kindly help me to get the justice and compensation for my agony gone through these two months due to no salary with the mistake of bank.

                  I had credit card[protected] while working in Oman. I had to leave Oman in March 2008 due to some unavoidable circumstances. Prior leaving I paid OMR 100 assuming due within that amount since I didn't know the actual balance to be paid. There after I never used the card.

                  Later I received a statement that shows amount balance as on 10.2.08 - OMR 34.238.
                  which is on 30.12.09 became OMR 354.795 though I never used the card.

                  Now I get threat from bank employees. I would like to clear the debt but 354.795 OMR is too high for me even though I never used the card towards this debt. I would request bank to please consider write off the debt and allow me to pay the amount with a discount within my capacity.

                    The last bill of credit card was received on 5th Dec 2002 for Rs.59216.71 The same was cleared on 13/01/2003. There after no bill was received because credit limit was cancelled. I hold three different cards since 1985. Till date no complain has been received from any Bank/card agency.
                    I came to know about this only when My company loan application was being proceced. I shall be glad if could help to remove my name from the Defoulters list. I do not know the full perticulers about the defoult.

                    i had been given my documets and some papers to the manhattan b-1, janakpuri for credit card but they mis guide me and they did not even apply my application in manhattan (standard charterd) bank .prehaps they use my documents in wrong way

                    I had also suffered problem similer to you in 2008 and suffered lot. Having suffered due to credit cards and CIBIL in 2008, have decided to help those who are also suffering due to such problems. In last 2 years I have gone through CIBIL Act, Rules and Regulations, severla other RBI guidelines as well. I am personally aware about Standard Chartered that they are doing lot of illegal activity and have already made complaint with RBI. But I want several complaints directly to RBI so that RBI is forced to issue inspection of Standard Chartered, which will bring out lot many surprises.

                      Hi,

                      I was a Standard Chartered Diva credit card holder Card # is [protected]. My transaction was closed in Mar 2006, however I still keep getting calls from the collection department and recovery agents who use abusive language to my parents.

                      The complete story is narrated below :

                      1. Statements being sent after the due date of the payment and late fee being charged.
                      2. Interest being charged inspite of calling and informing that the statements received is after the payment due date.
                      3. Transaction / usage of credit card was stopped after March 2006. Did not get the statement in April of my last transaction due to which i have been charged the late fee & interest.
                      4. After 1 year I get a call in May 2007 for the clearance of the amount, however not received any statements after Aug 06. The total amount due was Rs 6786 approx in Aug including the late fee & interest.
                      5. Last payment of Rs 4200/- was made in May after to speaking to Mr. Shashikiran ( his cell number is / was [protected]) who said Interest will be revesed since statements have not been sent. Mr Shashi kiron agreed that I pay Rs. 4200/- hence payment was made. A citibank cheque was dropped in the box.
                      5. Mr Shashikiran said he will confirm the payment receipt and inform about the Final settlement letter, however did not get any information nor calls. So as aloyal customer I thought that the account is closed and settled since the payment is made. After the payment I never received any calls.
                      6. After 1 and half years again i have started getting calls from the representatives who dont have manners nor knows how to speak in polished english. The associate called and said the amount due is 20, 000 and the person called is Mr. Vijay from Delhi ( his number is[protected] and[protected] who uses abusive language and threatning that he will send the people to our house.
                      7. Have told Mr. Vijay the payment is made he just doesn't listen and screams. Also when I spoke with Mr Vijay he has threatned me that he will call again and again in future and I cannot do anything on it. This is for your kind information I will lodge a FIR at Local Police Station if again I receive a call from him, so please inform your Mr Vijay about it.
                      8. Many customers are facing the same problem with Standard Charterd bank where in consumer complaints have been filed and human rights cases have been filed against the representatives who call the customers to their residence number at odd house and harrass the old people at home.
                      9. Notes after each call has not been written as per the discussion with the represenatative . What is of the Bank's interest is what has been captured.
                      10. Insisted on Call recording, said cannot provide.
                      11. May be the representatives have some internal tie up or link that they verbally tell the customers regarding the charges being waived and abscond without any knowledge and thereby the customers have to bear the brunt who trust the standard chartered bank associates.
                      12. Bank representatives keep sleeping until 2 years and suddenly realize that they have to bother the customer and keep calling continuously using foul language to our parents.
                      13.On 18 Oct 08 went to the bank to speak with the Manager, Spoke with Mr. Raghu (cell number : [protected])& Nihar Saha ( cell number : [protected]), Mr. Nihar quoted that this problem is with all the banks not only with Standard chartered bank. If a employee who represents the bank says this that means internally all the employees are very much aware that the bank is playing it's gimmicks and tactics to harrass the customers. Mr Nihar also told me that I should have personally given the chque payment to the bank instead of dropping the cheque in the drop box, so the bank keeps changing the rules of payments as and when thry want and tell that hte customers are at fault because they drop the cheque in the drop box. "I quote that the bank is just creating nuisance" .
                      14. Mr Raghu got a statement that the balance is 13, 000/- odd when questioned that the person who calls says 20, 000/- is the balance, Mr Nihar nor Mr Raghu had an answer for this and said they might have been a third party who called for recovery. Mr Nihar said that any one can call in the name of Standard chartered bank so how can you trust the person calling . It's really disgusting that the employees of Standard chartered bank are trained to harrass and torture the customers.
                      15. When questioned Mr.Nihar regarding the statement not sent to me of Rs. 13, 000/- being balance, he dint have an answer and later said that once the account goes to recovery, the account gets written off and then no statements are sent. It a nice tactic of this bank to harrass and torture customers without keeping them informed. There was no notification sent by the standard charterd bank that the account has been moved to the recovery department. Also he said that these are the guidelines set by Reserve Bank of India, so when questioned why was this not informe to me, he said all the customers know about it, how will any customer know if there has has been no information sent on it.
                      14. Mr Nihar said that I will not get the final settlement letter unless i pay atleast some amount, are these banks in to bargaining or playing with the customers money.
                      15.I have the proof of the card being lost in Aug 06 with police complaint.

                      Have evidence of people whom I have spoken with, the statements received are all after the due date is passed.

                      After reading all the complaints of so many customers it's evident that the bank is just trying to threaten the customers and recover what ever money they can .

                      This is for the information to all the people who are undergoing the same torture by Standard Charterd Bank :

                      1) Recovery through agents is illegal.

                      2) Banks are not supposed to divulge your financial details and your address and telephone number to a third party.

                      3) Third party cannot represent your service provider for such crucial and sensitive information.

                      Kindly treat this letter as official, and take action accordingly.

                      Any call to the my number may result legal action.

                      I just want a Final settlement letter and close the transaction with this Bank. I regret to have being the customer of this bank which has bo human values and ethics.


                      Hope for a reply from your end . I sincerely request you to please help me come out of this torture from Standard Chartered bank.

                          Recently I approached a finance Company for availing a vehicle loan and to my utter surprise and dismay I have been communicated that I have a default/write–off of Rs. 75, 000/- showing against my name by a Credit Card Company and NPA status of Car Loan against the name of my spouse Shalini L.Vidhani.

                          The status given by the Credit Card Company and Car loan Bank to CRISIL are not only untrue & misleading but also badly hurting my credit standing in the society.

                          I have been issued NO-DUE Certificates by both of above institutes to prove my contentions where the car loan is foreclosed by my wife by paying full outstanding amount as well as a full and final settlement payment of Rs. 750/- to standard Chartered Bank toward wrongly charged interest & charges debited by the credit card company.

                          I request your good office to take my issue appropriately to all the rating agencies sharing common credit resources to correct credit rating of myself and my wife immediately.

                            I was carrying a credit card of Standard Chatered Bank. Credit Card no [protected] in name of Habib Sadat Rahman. I paid them a sum of Total RS 17000.00 to my usage till 2005 but after that I ave not recieved any bills. on 31/10/2008 I recieved a call from (saying that he is from Delhi Police - having phone number [protected] - Mr. Singh) and threatened me to tha he will arrest and carrying non bailable warrant. He then gave me a number of Mrs Sheetal Jain Advocate from Chennai - cell number - [protected]. She told me that to settle the account. I asked her what is my card number as I am not carrying it. She refused. Then I went to Kolkata HO at Netaji Subhas Road and queryed about the status. They asked me to get the card no. When Mrs Jain was sure about that I am inside the bank she gave the number to my coleague who was accompanying with me. But repeatdely phone from this two number was coming to me and threatening me to arrst and produce to chennai court. and tke bail with minimum deposit of RS 2, 00, 000.00. The both of them using bad languages. I then settled the outstanding by paing RS 8000.00 in cash vide reciept no: N[protected] dated 31/10/2008 and Cheque of RS 6000.00 vide no 602082 dated[protected] and recieved a settlement letter no: CAR[protected] . But after that they were still threatening to arrest me. If they are police and lawyers then I do they need the details thy can easily track this in Standard Chatered system. They were using false identity as I came to know that both of them are from SCB only. This what MNC banks are... If any help do contact me on my cel no [protected]

                            I had a similar experience. I used to hold a Standard Chartered Card Visa Gold Card to which they added on a Standard Chartered Gold Master and a Diva Card in my wife's name. They proceeded to charge me for the same and when I objected they reversed the charges for a couple of years and then again started the charges and failed to reverse on demand. I had made a cheque payment which upon their refusal to reverse I got bounced. I later made a cash payment in lieu of the bounced cheque just so as to avoid being a defaulter. I also had a car loan with them. They sent some goons to my house to threaten my wife and one guy went to the extent of threatening to kidnap my children. This threat was repeated on phone to my office assistant. I then got upset and paid up the Car loan which had the car as security. I told them to do what they want but I would not succumb to their threats stating that I was liable to only what was legitimately due to them. I also sought an apology in writing for whatever trespass they or their goons had committed. The car loan was duly paid off and I got the hypothecation cancelled. they infact refunded whatever excess I had paid for the car loan. However on the Card score they kept threatening me despite my writing to their legal cell to prepare a fact sheet and show me what was legitimately due to them which if any I had promised to pay them. I later changed jobs, moved home etc. but they continued to use their goons to telephonically threaten but never submitted a written fact sheet. To try and find my present address they used to call up under various disguises like courier company calling about an LIC policy which they wanted to deliver, LIC draft they wanted to deliver etc. The latest was a call from a person claiming to be an Inspector of Police from Delhi saying that an unbailable warrant was issued against my in Delhi by a lawyer going by the name of Sheetal Jain operating from Chennai. This Goonda Bank needs to be legally taught a lesson
                            I cant believe this!!! its really rediculous yaar...If it is true you people have saved me, I just got a call regarding a credit card & personal loan from this bank...am not gonna take thosse from this bank. I heard many about ICICI bank but this is my first time experience about standard chatered bank...Any how sorry for what ever happen with u & ur families. Y cant u guys post these in a reputed site like facebook, orkut & all...It will be like a awareness programme for the citizens of India...Try it out & if already done then let me know the link.

                            there i m fully agree with u r problem as i m havinga housing loan from the last 3 years with SC .I M facing the same situation with this bank . might be u ppl don belive tht i m trying to close my housing loan with the bank but the SC ppl not delievirng the right documents so i can shut down tht hefty chrages ..tryied to cal at LEAST 15 days to fix my prob but all are careless repersentative..on the bank side .they don care abt US all they care for to get the extra charges and ...offering u more loan if you are capable to pay back ... never had tht experince b4 with any another bank globaly like SC ... hard time bank...
                            all i can suggest to fellow customer don put ur hard earn money with this bank ...

                            Credit Card + Standard Chartered Bank — Avoid to take credit card and beware of credit Card companies

                            to every person I strongly suggesting to avoid taking credit card. In 2002 when I took card I was paying yearly fees but now almost all companies offers you free credit card, stay away from such offer. Because in My view they are nothing but white collar criminals/Corporate mafias. Our regulations and legal systems are very worst so they are taking full advantage and cheating/looting peoples. Also they are spoiling your credit rating by providing false reports to CIBIL, so in future when you go for any loan due to such bogus reports you gets negative rating

                            Since 2002 I was holding Standard Chartered banks GOLD credit card.
                            In 2007 their marketing executives were calling me regularly and were suggesting going for Titanium card launched by company. I asked him to explain every detail and also agreed to record entire conversation in their recording system. He made me lot lot promises about benefits and services I am going to get.

                            So by paying 3000Rs I accepted new card. They cancelled my old Gold card (which was for life time by paying one time fee). On very 1st day I tried to use card at two places and both refused to accept saying we do not have tie up with company! So without wasting time I approached customer care & they started passing the ball game. Then said we do not made any such claim. I told them to play recorded conversation. They didn’t.

                            Than I asked refund 3000 I paid and told to restore my old card. They said your old card is cancelled so unable to issue again! My payment was due so I told If you will not give me refund and If you will not restore my GOLD card I will not make payment & will recover my loss. Since 2002 till 2007 I was making my payment on last day of due date and they never warned me. But as this dispute arises in next statement they charged me penalty showing late payment! When called up customer care I told I have made payment on due date than why late fee? and also I was doing payment on due date since 2002. They told sorry you have to pay penalty. This was all due to my Fight for justice- they started problems targeting me. I stopped payment they every month stared adding penalty and interest. Than in March 2008. I got call for settlement. They were claiming Rs 7821 (in which almost all claim was bogus) but to end matter I accepted settlement offered by them and made payment of Rs 4450. I thought al last matter over.

                            BUT BUT all this companies play games they do settlement with us but they reports overdue/default/or written of payment to CIBIL. CIBIL the credit Information bureau India Limited is keeping records and when we go for any kind of loan like home loan, business loan, personal loan etc they issues our credit rating and based on that lender gives us loan. so any negative report ( even if it wrong) we may deny loan even after many years!
                            so 1st avoid to take credit card or if you have any dispute with credit card company settle it with them ( even if you are right and company is wrong)settle with them and take letter mentioning is it is full and final settlement. also ask them to send such letter to CIBIL and keep one copy with you.
                            is there any way/forum which can help to take legal action against such fraud companies? please guide

                            I want to close my credit card account. How much I have to pay? Please adjust my rewards point against money. Please do needfull early.

                              Dear Sir / Madam

                              On the 09 Sep 2008 i swiped my Standard Chartered bank debit card with reliance Leisures for the purchases of INR 1317. Though the transaction happened only once the amount has been deducted twice from my account. When contacted the phone banking they said nothing to worry it would be reversed back with in 12working days. I patiently waited for the same after 12 days the amount still was not back in my account and this time they wanted me to fill the dispute form which i propmtly filled and sent it to there Chennai office later when i called them in chennai they gave me a deadline 0f 27oct the amount will be back in the account.
                              During the same time Ms.Chaitanya called to check on the same and informed that the papers have been sent to Chennai office and they have confirmed the reciept of the same and she confirmed that they would also follow up this issue and get back to me.
                              Since there was no reply from the bank till 03Nov2008 i called up the phone banking and to mu surprise the case was already closed without my knowledge while the amount still not in my account.

                              This was very surprising and an eye opener to the kind of service that is being offered. the bank knows the amount is not back in the customer's account and still thhey have gone and closed the complaint. When asked why they have no answer for the same. Are banks cheating customers like this too !!!

                              i have spent my money and time calling them from 09sep till date but i have had no proper response and they refuse toi give any details of the higher ups for the case to be escalated.

                              can some one help me in getting back the money and also advise how this process works.

                              On the 02 Feb 2009 i swiped my Standard Chartered bank debit card with ICICI Bank Ltd for the withdrawl of INR Rs. 3500/-. Though the transaction has not happened but amount Rs. 3500/- deducted from my account. When contacted the phone banking they said require 60 days for resolve this issue.
                              Amount deduct from my sallary of Jan 09, I need money urgently for pay the Loan installment & other Daily required things.

                              Request you to pls resolve the issue.
                              I am an extremely unhappy customer of Standard Chartered Bank.

                              Following are my Issues

                              The Current Interest rate is at 13.4% in spite of there being at least 3 relief’s in the past 3 years from the government on home loan interests

                              In the year 2008 the total Interest deducted from my account was INR 109867.53 and the Principal amount deducted was only INR 3429.00 – Which is an atrocious ratio of deduction
                              Again in December 2007 I was approached by one of your agents stating that the EMI had increased and I have to give fresh EMI cheques, which I did. I was told that the old cheques would be returned to me directly from the office. However in the Month of February – the EMI was deducted twice from my bank account. Excess amount of INR 9, 151.00

                              I had kept aside that extra 10, 000.00 INR for some other commitments which failed due to this gross issue from your end. This has led to terrible mental, financial and emotional turmoil for me and has affected me, not to mention that I have lost my complete face, respect and dignity in front of the other party.
                              With reference to the above, MOHITVIJAN saving bank account holder in your bank could not receive an amount of Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three HUNDRAD ) which was withdrawn in standard charterd bank wea arya samaj road ( delhi) ATM on 16 06.09 record no 8180 As my account is debited with 300 which I could not receive. So, I kindly request you to credit the amount of Rs. 300. I am also submitting a copies of statements for confirmation to The Chief Manager, Union Bank of India at ATM CELL DELHI ROAD MEERUT BRANCH point.
                              Kindly do the needful.

                                I am Srinivas Murthy Kamarajugadda. I work for a Private Software firm in a Managerial position. I used to hold a Credit card of your bank in 1999/2000 issued when I was in Pune.Later I had to move to Delhi on deputation from my employer and have changed the communication address for my credit card accordingly. I used to pay my debts in time. I had to fly overseas for an assignment after that and I couldn't update my address details with your bank. Later I lost my card and had tried reaching through customer service numbers to find out the details but in vain as they needed my card number and other details of my previous communication address etc., which were not available with me. To my knowledge there weren't any dues so I stopped worrying about the same.

                                I have received a call yesterday suddenly from a person named Mr.Yadav from Delhi saying that he is from Delhi Police and he has a warrant against me. He insisted me to speak to Mr. RK Sharma (Cell: [protected]) attorney for this case. I called up Mr. Sharma and in due course he started making me restless over the matter asking me to settle 2lacs in 1 hr other wise he threatened me of dire consequences leading to persuation of my office premises and taking my boss into custody (as I was on vacation to my village and not available in office) or otherwise my old parents at my residence. From the discussion I got to know that there were 2 summons sent to the Delhi address where I wasnt available. But they couldnt send me the same to my current address though they had it along with my current home phone number. In a span of 2-3 hours I was harassed from a landline and a cell phone number mentioned above multiple(5) times humiliating me for having not paid the dues from long time and for not being able to accumulate the said 2 lacs in 1 hour.

                                Later I asked Mr. Sharma to provide me with Authenticated details of the debits/dues related to my account for me to validate. I assured him that I will make the payment post my verification and discussion with a Bank personell as per the advice given by my lawyer and local police. Mr. Sharma didnot show any intention of sending me the statements instead he started using a much more filthy language than before and started abusing my wife and scared me of worst consequences. I have been repeatedly asking him to be in control as I am not denying to make the payment and only that I want to see some authentic statements pertaining to that as per the "Right To Information Act".

                                I agree to the fact that there has been a mistake from my side but with the circumstances mentioned above it was overlooked by me. I regret for the inconvenience caused to the Bank because of this. I am willing to pay the settlement amount after having a close look at the Authenticated statement and discussing with a Bank Personell this time. I request you not to allow the above said person to contact me any longer as it is very intimidating, humiliating, Harassing and threatening. Also this goes against the RBI ruling "RBI / 2005-06 / 211
                                DBOD.FSD.BC. 49/ 24.01.011/ 2005-06 Section 5.III.C" and the recent Supreme court ruling on Debt collection.

                                Thanks to understand my situation and request you to send me the Authenticated copies of my Credit card([protected]) statement post which I will definitely oblige you by settling my dues at the earliest.

                                I am holding a Credit Card. The payment Coupon does not reach in time and or atall.
                                I can not keep track of my account either As a result my account is lloaded with huge Late Charges
                                In telephonic reply the officials some times gives incorrect picture although, the sms received confirms the payment and late posting of deposits tentamount to further imposition of Late Charges.
                                I am a senior citizen, and has attained certsin age. Neither any office is located in our nearby vicinity.
                                Standard Charterd has never considers all these difficulties due to certain weighty reasons.
                                Please suggest, as to whether, any remidy lies to the problem or to suffer in silence.

                                    Dear Sir,

                                    My EMI was substantially increased by 3000 INR (from 12 to 13.75%) in the last 2 months. Along with substantial loss in the stock market, thi has made it impossible for me to pay the higher EMI.

                                    I saw newspaper clipping where RBI has decreased CRR and Repo rate while at the same period of time interest rate has been increased on existing loans by 1.75%.

                                    Is this fair? I want to launch a complaint against the bank in a consumer court and will also write to the press, the finanace minister and RBI to protest against this.

                                    Could you tell me when you had availed the loan, the tenure. It would help us rectify it.

                                      dear Sir,

                                      I have received a call from Standard Chartered Bank office Mr M S Paliwal on 17th Oct 08 Claiming to be an Advocate of the Standard Chartered Bank from Mobile No [protected] .Prior to that I got a call from one Mr Satbir Singh Mobile No [protected] also called me on 17th Oct 08 and threatened me with dire consequences and to arrest me .He also said that they will come with a team and arrest me and also take away all the goods from my house.Mr Satbir claimed that they want Rs 3 lacs from me .


                                      Satbir then asked me to speak to Mr M S Paliwal Advocate.Mr M S Paliwal then claimed Rs 3 lacs for a Credit Card No [protected] that according to Mr M S Paliwal I had since 1992 of Standard Chartered Bank.

                                      Mr Paliwal refused to give any details on the Credit Card statement and the amount I owed to the Bank.I have never held a Credit Card of Standard Chartered Bank and Iam suprised of the tactics the Bank uses, when I was never a Credit Card Holder.

                                      I went to the Bank and met Ms Shivani at Standard Chartered Bank Gurgaon she told me that Standard Chartered Bank often uses such tactics.

                                      May I request to take strict action against such hooloigananisn and goonda tactics taken by Standard Chartered Bank to harrass respectable citizens like me.

                                      Hoping action against SCB Bank-Credit Crad Division

                                        Hello,
                                        Here is a short story about the 1 year long problem with SCB Credit card.

                                        In December 2006, I have got a SCB Gold card and have not used it till March 2007. In March 07, the bank has automatically upgraded by card as PLATINUM CARD. There was no communication with me on the same.

                                        Further to this, they have started charging Rs. 1200 every month as PLATINUM CHARGES. I have been sending complaints to head.[protected]@standardchartered.com and received atleast 10 complaint numbers. Still, no resolution. They have also added interest & taxes to this amount every month.

                                        As I was not here in India, from March 07 - Jan 07, I have been paying the charges through the web. I have not been checking the detailed bill which was delivered to my India address.

                                        Totally, I have paid more than Rs.60, 000 extra during this period. I have given my first complaint during March 08 and fighting with the customer care till July 08.

                                        In July 08, the customer care person from Bangalore conveyed that Rs. 1200 is being charged for TATA AIG Insurance every month. But, I have not requested for this facility.

                                        When I enquired about the facility of the insurance, he said the insurance company will pay the outstanding balance to SCB incase of my death / illness. NO ADVANTAGE TO THE CUSTOMER.

                                        Also, he told me that the service should have been requested by me in 2007. There is no track in SCB's system till now. Also, I was not in India during this period and my mobile # was not active as well.

                                        Till date (Oct 2008), they are not able to tell me who requested for this service.

                                        To add more surprise, they forced me for a final settlement of Rs. 1, 20, 000 (actual usage was less than Rs. 70, 000). I have also paid Rs. 55, 000 as the first EMI.

                                        When they gave me the settlement letter, it was mentioned as "THE BANK IS CONSIDERING YOUR INABILITY TO PAY THE OUTSTANDING AND WE ARE ALLOWING YOU SETTLE YOUR ACCOUNT".

                                        I have not agreed to accept the letter as it was incorrect. I have requested them mentioning the correct reason for cancellation. They have not contacted me till last week.

                                        Now, I got a call from their collection department today mentioning my current outstanding is Rs. 1, 48, 000.

                                        This is a pathetic service from SCB and it is sick to use their service.

                                        Please be careful about their hidden charges.
