Hello,
This was regarding fraud transactions done on my Standard Chartered Credit Card of Rs.72000.
I am living in Mumbai and these physical transactions had done from Lucknow based Merchant on 3rd of August.
I never been in Lucknow ever and also the Stanchart Card was present with me..There have been no instances of the Card getting ever lost...
Standard Chartered had sent me the charge slip for the transactions which is a clear indication of Signature Credentials does not ever match with the signed Charge slip.
As a proof, I do have 2 transactions done on my Credit /Debit Card on 3rd of August same day in Mumbai with my Family which clearly shows my presence in Mumbai ...How can single person be at 2 places ?
I had lodged a formal complaint about same in Police Station, but still have to get positive Reply from them.
Appreciate, if any one can help me as Standard Chartered is claims that these disputed transactions is there favor and I have pay up the amount ...which is noting but a absolute cheat and a fraud case .

Standard chartered gold credit card — credit card bill charged even though card is not used since 2 years

my standard charterd credit card number is: [protected]
i cancelled it and not using this card since 2005 (2 years)
even bank people also have blocked this card.
now stan chartered bank is saying that i have an outstanding due of 3177.31 INR on this card.
when i asked them about statemenet for 2 years just to check if it is only annual charged which is leived they did not provide the same.
do i have to pay for it? what proof's i should have as proof for cancellation of credit card?
I am a gold credit card holder of Standard Chartered Bank.Bank has show me Rs.79.75 as a due amount on my credit card no [protected].There is no due amount on my part.Please reverse the amount.

Tang Shop — Not recd. my order

I have ordered an "ACER N30 Retractable PHR-ACER-N30" cable for my PDA on 14th sep-08 they have confirmed the order (Order No. 66641), the money has also been transfered from my account to their but till dat i ahvnt recd. my order. They are also not responding to my mails neither they are sending any confirmation. this a very very poor service on behalf of Tangshop.

Please help me out.

Yes, I agree that this situation is common with St. Chartered. Similar case has happened with my dad. I am also going to lodge a complaint. Please post if you have received any better response/resolution from the bank.

credit card problem, fraud done — cheating and fraud done

i Dinesh Negi, Card no.[protected], 2 year back i had received this cr card, what happen after 3month i had received a statement of Rs.2000/- debit puchased, i compalaint to customer call centre abt it that the transaction is faulty, and to block my card with out any single swapping done till that date,
but the things is that still i am receiving statement and dr amt reflecting Rs.9000/-

My family members are upset with this things pls advice me exactly what to do?

Mohammed salim, Card no.[protected], 1year back i have received lifetime free cr card from HSBC Bank after receiving of this credit card i had never transation from this card but HCBC bank issued every statement with several charges after requsation of above cancalation charges but it is not respoonse from HSBC bank and he issue more a more billing for the above charges. i have also call for cancalation my credit card but it is not response from him.

My family members are upset with this things pls advice me exactly what to do?

Even I have encountered with same problem a transaction of 97000 was done on my card from Jaipur where I was not in India at that time.The response from Bank is very poor and had n't taken it any seriously.I am still awaiting response form bank after 40 days since I lodged the complaint.I seriously advice no for SCB cards.Please beware of them its a fraudster bank.Please advice me if you know how to handle these situations.This is first time for me.

I also had bad expeirence with me, i was in overseas before leaving i paid the bill amount . Still after my return from overseas Standard chartered bank mentioned called me and said you have to pay the amount plus very huge charges and gave me two days time. Since i did not have the actual bill i asked for last statement balance.SCB reply is it will take 6 working days and now we give you an offer to waive some of the charges, if you wait for 6 working days you need to pay the full charges. unfortunately i did not have the last payment slip. So I started enquiring some of my friends and their friends, i shocked to find that there are many cases where SCB cheated people.

One guy got excess bill and was called by recovery department to the office, he was the litterly robbed with all the money he had at that time and was asked to pay the remaining amount by a day.

I Strongly say "No" to Standard Chartered bank.
This has happened to me yesterday. Three transactions were made . At the time of transaction I was in flight from Abroad. Please suggest What actn should I take for the same.

I had also suffered problem similer to you in 2008 and suffered lot. Having suffered due to credit cards and CIBIL in 2008, have decided to help those who are also suffering due to such problems. In last 2 years I have gone through CIBIL Act, Rules and Regulations, severla other RBI guidelines as well. I am personally aware about Standard Chartered that they are doing lot of illegal activity and have already made complaint with RBI. But I want several complaints directly to RBI so that RBI is forced to issue inspection of Standard Chartered, which will bring out lot many surprises.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Fraud transaction happened on my standard chartered bank credit card. Below are these transactions.

I have not made these transaction and strange is that card is having with me I have not shared PIN number online banking password with anyone. And bank is already sent me credit card statement where these Fraud transaction reflected.

Bank is saying they require 45 working days to investigate this mater.

Using this email I am just alerting cyber cell so in future no one affect.

If it is possible I request you to resolving this matter.
This has happened with me also. I saw transactions worth Rs 30000 on the Reebok / Sony outlets in Delhi. The card was in my possession all the time and even the signatures on the transaction slips do not match my signatures. Instead of doing any inquiry into the incident, Now SC has asked me to pay all the charges failing which I'll go to the defaulter list. Do not know where to go and against whom to file the complaint. Can anybody please help.

standard Charter Credit card — Regarding the fraud charges

I am using SCB ceridt card . I got call from SCB for one advantage card but was not instrested that time and i cancel the offer.
but in next statement the amount is reflecting my card . after that i have logged complaint and customer service executive assured me that it will get cancelled and charges will revesred.

after that next month again i got the statement and same charges are refelected in the statement.
again i called two times

Now again i got the statement with same charges and late fee. i called to cust care now they are saying that you are opted for it.
So Here my kind request to you that pls hepl in such matter as banks are now cheating to the customer.

Hi I am Soumya from Mumbai. This has happened to me today. Two transaction have made but I haven't use the card. I have logged the complain in customer case as soon as I get the SMS alert for these transactions. They have block the card now. Is there any other way to approach this situation. Please help.
hello All, This is Ashish BhattFrom mumbai. I got similar kind of fraud transaction with my SC credit card. 2 months back one saturday late night 2 pm i got 2 sms's that somebody did transaction on my behalf from UK in $94.46 two times. i called up bank immediately and asked them to stop my card and even block payments. they said it will take 48 hours to claim from merchant. after that they asked me to fill dispute from. they said we investigate and sent me bill copy which has name "SHANTANG SITAKANG" name which was not my name. Bank has not even traced the IP Address of that person. I am really going under mental trauma and mental torchar from Standard Chartered Bank. I also came to know that 1-2 of my friends have been victim of such fraud and pressure by Standard Chartered Bank. Kindly do not get Credit card or any service from this anti -customer care bank.

Online Fraudulent Transactions on my Credit Card

Hello All, This is Ashish Singh From Lucknow. I got similar kind of fraud transaction with my SC credit card. In One (06th Dec'12) month back one Friday late night 12 pm i got 10 sms's that somebody did online transaction on my behalf in $ (~30K in RS) 10 times. I called up bank immediately and asked them to stop my card and even block payments. They said it will take 48 hours to claim from merchant. after that they asked me to fill dispute from. they said we investigate and sent me bill copy which has online merchant name "HOSTGATOR.COM PS://SIGNUP.HUS". Bank has not even traced the IP Address of that person. I am really going under mental trauma and mental torcher from Standard Chartered Bank. Kindly do not get Credit card or any service from this anti -customer care bank.

I am also faced with a same situation. Somebody did a fraudulent transaction in USD on my standard chartered credit card. Luckily I had just done a few shopping in the new year and there was not much balance left so my loss was not very big. But looking at the other complaints on this and various other forums, I believe SCB is either doing it themselves or they have someone inside who is doing it for them. I now wish to pay off my pending bill and close the card permanently.

It seems like this a very common thing especially with Standard Chartered Credit Cards. I also received a similar message and they had tried multiple transactions on my credit card. But luckily since I had done some shopping on the new year, there was not much of limit left so the transactions got declined. Now I have blocked my card and I was told to raise a complaint against the transaction after 48 hrs. I want to pay off the remaining balance and close off this card account for ever. Please do share what has happened in the end for all the cases.

I called up Standard Chartered Nodal Office on 22 Jan 2013 and asked for update about my case. One of the officer told me that same and same story again and again that you did secure transaction so you have to pay. I told her that I filled dispute & Re - Dispute forms with Police stamp on my complaint.you share atleast what you have investigated till date. she said that we cant but it was secure transaction. I again told her that when I informed you within few minutes of these crime happened by some hacker and asked you to stop paying that fraud merchant. you could have done this and could have asked merchant and customer both to prove this transaction genuine.Because you have not set proper policy to stop payment I am landed in big trouble. Till date they have sent only bill copy which has some other name as card holder. bill is even not self explanatory. Standard Chartered bank is covering their mistake and they blackmail customer by doing so. because they know that if customer will not pay his name will be marked in Defaulter in all banks CBIL record.
Someone please help me to come out of this mess.

Banking regulation act is strange. Policies of banks are even more strange. Some Cibil gives credit score to customers. Does any1 even look at fraud transactions through a particular bank and then bar it from operating. Who rates banks when all of facing same situation and stil bank will decise my credit worthiness. Who decides bank worthiness?

Even I faced similar problem. In my case it was an online transaction and when I reported fraud immediately the customer care guy tells me card is blocked and they will pay to the merchant. I said why dont you just cancel tje transaction now and instruct merchant not to dispatch gifts. I wonder why policies are made. You get instant smses to stop fraud. Now when in an online transaction cardholder is reporting fraud why not act immediately and block the transaction. What is the use of sending instant sms. May be regulations say now 1 loss is to be borne by card golder. Kidding me.

Pls be aware of SC. They are totally fraud n mindless bunch of ppl. I have been following up with them for past 6 months post submitting redressal form and still I get calls for clearance dues. Avoid it.

did you finally resolve this? there were multiple transaction in my card form various places in tamil nadu as per customer care execiteve said, whereas i stay in mumbai. I asked to decline transaction, they said they cant. they said to call tomorrow and fill in dispute fore(2days post blockin card) i hope they catch the culprit, i cant imagine paying 40000. please share your xperience. did they find the fraudster?did you end up paying?
Let me warn all user who are using or planning to get Standard Chartered Credit Card, that my credit card was compromised on 30th March, 2013. There were multiple international transaction that happened on my card, of which one transaction of Rs 59, 000/- went through. Though the transaction was reversed by merchant but bank has charged mark up fee of Rs. 2606/- on my credit card for which I am still fighting with the Bank for reversal. Guys, their would be many people like me who are being harassed by Standard Chartered for Late Payment fees and Interest charges that are being levied every month. So, please be careful on choosing Standard Chartered Credit Card, their security database is being compromised. Choose Well..
Hi, I faced similar fraud few days back where I got SMS that my Credit Card from Standard Chareted has been used to debit amount in EURO. I immediately called CustomerCare and they blocked my card and have taken request for replacement.

Hi All. Have anyone got to know how fraud happened? Did the fraudster get caught? Did you end up paying for what you have not spent? I had received sms yesterday continuously, and was shocked to find out transaction taking place on my card when I had it in my purse all time. I immediately blocked it, but by that time around 40000 was already gone. Excecutive said transations took place in chennai but I reside in Mumbai. They are nt able to find out if it was onine or POS. I asked them to contact merchant and ask to stop transaction, but they say bank protocol doesnt allow it. They asked me to call back after 2 days and fill in dispute form. Then they will investigate within 45 days. But will they catch the fraudster? I dont want to pay my hard earned money for something which I havent done. Mine is a chip card, without PIN how did POS transation take place. If online, then OTP is a must, how can anyone get that? I havent recived any SMS. I am going through such trauma in last 12hrs, I just blocked all other credit card I have.
I have a fraud transaction in my standard chartered credit card on 18 Feb 18 of amount 4000, 5000 respectively on Paytm merchant website.informed standard chartered bank through mail for the same.and raised the dispute Form and sent online to their mail.bank representative asked to lodge a FIR on police station for the said transaction, what should I will do .kindly guide me.Fir to be lodged in normal police station or cyber police cell.plz help me out.

    Nothing in the policy detail is correct except my name. My signature, photograph, father’s name, nominee’s name and all the other details provided in the policy document are forged.

      Standard chartered is the most unethical foreign bank operating in india with out any respect for law of the state.I had a credit card

      from them and I used it only 3 o 4 times and paid all amount.Their agent told me that it is a free card for life with out any charge and after 2 years they asked me to pay annual fee.I told them that I am not interested and they can de activate my card.After that they didn’t sent me any statement or letters .But they reported my name as defaulter to CIBIL.RBI has given clear directive that bank should sent statements and intimations regularly to customer.



      It is a shame that our central bank is not taking any action against such bank.They are clearly violating RBI directives They just want to make maximum money from indians, in which ever way possible, be it unethical, fraud or day light robbery and siphone off that money to US OR EUROPE.If you have any banking relation with this bank please close it as early as possible and make sure that you have a settlement letter from them.

      The more bank with them the more will you be cheated.Their customer service is probably worst I ever spoke to.They behave in most careless manner to customers

      I totally agreed with you as I had a terrible experience with it in many different cases. SCB becomes in the garbage grade by default if they never imporve soon!
      I am staying in abroad, i used to send money each month for my family in India CITI BANK. From abroad the money i send by Telegraphic Transfer (TT ). It used to take 3-4 working days to reach the money to my CITI bank account. But now a days it is taking 15-20 days to reach the money. I enquire and got to know a very suprizing thing.

      The Standard Chartered bank is the middle bank who take the money (which one i send from abroad to India) and diposit to my CITI bank account. Now a days Standard Chartered bank is not dipositing the money to CITI bank, even though they received the money from abroad bank. Standard Chartered bank keep the money with them for 1-2 weeks and earn the interrest on that money.

      Why they are doing like this?????????????

        Dear Sir,
        Kindly note that Ms.Atreyi Dutta from your Kolkata collection office, 19 N S Road, phone number:[protected], called my residence number (which is not valid now, as I am not staying there, ) to my 65 years mother with very very filthy and abusive languages(I have full recording of that) regarding my payments.

        Please note that if I am a defaulters on your payment system then you may take legal action regarding it, but calling intentionally to the residence number and threatening to the other members of family does reflect your Customer service status.

        Also when I have called Ms.Dutta she has threatned me that she will do it again and again in future and I could not do anything on it. This is for your kind information I have lodged a FIR at Local Police Station, so please inform your Ms Dutta about it.

        And please note that my address has been changed with effect from 12th August 2008.So please send all my bills and letters to the following address only and call only on the listed numbers.Any call to the previous number may result legal action.

        Kindly treat this letter as official, and take action accordingly.

        I am holding your Visa credit card no.[protected] over last five years with over
        lacs of transaction. I had dues of a few thousand which i paid well in time. The last payment due
        was Rs. 215/- only, the minimum payment of which comes Rs. 12/- only. The same was paid in due time but for some unfortunate reason (may be due to small amount or delay in cash oc the same from your end) the cheque got bounced. I paid another cheque of Rs. 230/- which is realised.

        Now i have a bill amounting due 755.97/- for no reason.

        I have tried to contact customer care, the number provided on the back of the card 2210 7777 is an invalid no as it does not respond.

        I am having long tenure with yours having substantial transtions.

        Unless this charge is made void I am discontinuing all services with immidiate effect. I am also not going to pay this amount & drpo your card cutting across diagonally with nearest Stanchat.

          I have paid the total principal amount outstanding on my credit card and the Bank is asking me to pay approximately Rs 5, 000 to pay and I told them to waive it because I have aleady paid the prinicpal amount, I get a reply from the manager that, the bank has its own way to recover the moeny from me.

          Total payment they are asking me to pay soley consists of interest and late payment charges only .
          Sir,
          I received Standard Chartard Bank credit card in year 2001 and drawn Rs.38000.00 in same year, because of my poor financial position I didn't paid full amount. Now(Sep.2009) they sent a legal notice and there specified to pay debt balance Rs.522, 288.72 this is very high than drawn amount now I am not in position to pay this much amount. Pay back is my moral duty I will pay drawn amount(38000/-) with nominal interest. Please advice me.

            Details.

            I have started using Standard Chartered Credit Card since 16 Oct 2002.

            In one statement dated 18 July 2005. I have been wrongly billed for the transaction amount Rs. 10, 956.00. These transactions are have not been carried out by me.

            Till that date these was no Late Payment, No Cheque bounce.

            I informed bank to block the card and informed about wrong billing. I also requested them not to charge the transactions amount of Rs 10, 956.00.

            I would like to bring to your knowledge that the above mention has been carried out in the city of Bhopal where I was not present at all.

            On the Photo Card without matching the signature how merchant has allowed the transactions to be happened remains a mystery to me.

            Bank Executive has asked Rs 485.00 and Credit Card in original for the settlement of this issue and I have paid the same on[protected]receipt no. 10133)

            After that when I again got calls for balance Payment from Mr. Inder Kant - [protected], he asked me to get in touch with Mr. Kapil Jain @ [protected].

            Mr. Kapil Jain said " Your case is sounding genuine and i will help you. Then he went on leave for some days. After coming back he said "case in not with me now, I am sorry I can't help you"

            I use to get calls and I was always explaining the case to every one.

            One day I got call from Ms. Palak from[protected]. After expelling the case she said " Sir the only way to come out from this is that you have to pay some amount"

            She said that minimum amount you have to pay is 5500.00

            After this I have paid the amount which was not spent by me.

            I have settled all amount related to my Photo Credit Card form Standard Chartered Bank. ( Card No [protected] ) on 21/06/08

            Details are : Amount : 5500.00 Bank : ICICI Bank DD No : 114549.

            Settlement letter no : NDR[protected] dated : 21 / 06 / 2008

            The day I have settled I have spoken to Mr. Jatin Chawala @ [protected] before paying the amount.
            I felt matter is over after this.

            On 22 / 08 / 2008 15:21 hrs

            I got a threatening call from Mr. Raghu Nath Yadav - [protected]. saying that I am calling from Karkardooma Court and I have warrant against you.

            He asked me to speak to Mr. Kaul at [protected]

            Mr. Kaul asked me to speak to Mr. Rajeev Bhandarkar at [protected].

            Mr. Rajiv Bhandarkar has asked 15 min to come back.

            But after 2 hrs, he has used abusive language over the phone in Hindi. He said I am not your servant. I have lot work to do, I am not free for you.
            His tone was also very high and non tolerable during the talk. He was shouting over the phone. He has asked me to disconnect the phone immediately.

            I am surprised that which type of people are working in Standard chartered bank.

            Then I have sent SMS on[protected]

            I am fail to understand that how your merchant has allowed transaction on photo credit card, I have sattled the amount which I have not spent. after wards your team is calling and harassing me like this.

            I was promised that after settlement my Credit Card will be issued to me again.

            Pl look in to the matter based on your reply I will decide for my next course of action for

            As per your credit card statement you’re due date was 11/09/2008 but I have made my payment on 04/09/2008.

            Today I have contacted your representative (Mr. Manish Chouhan at Mumbai @ 9.00 pm) and he said that this is the interest for late payment and it will not be reversible.

            As a deemed customer I am requesting you to reverse the amount Rs.676.37 as interest charged by you. Other wise I will cancel my card after clearing the due amount.

            Please escalate this issue to the nodal officer of the concerned bank, you have to do this if you want to take it up further. As per RBI guideline you have to escalate any unclosed or unsatisfied complaint needs to be escalated to the nodal officer appointed by the bank.

            You have to wait for their response or 30 days before taking this up with RBI. They have a something calling banking ombudsman, through which they try to get the bank and you to work to resolve. If you are still not satisfied you have to go to consumer forum or police.

            Please try and record your conversations so that you can prove later that they did use abusive language

            Standard Chartered Bank, Credit Card — sent a credit note to cibi for non existing credit card

            I had applied for home loan with Axis and they would have checked with CIBIL. CIBIL infomred that i owe Rs. 21, 000 + for acct. no. [protected], an account in the name of Sita Iyer but the address confirms mine. I had neither applied for this card nor do i have any document in the name sita iyer. Then how has SCB issued this card and how has it charged me when i have neven even seen the card leave alone using it.

            To my utter surprise they have sent another add on card to me last week.

            Please help in resolving this.

            Hello,

            A week ago, I applied for a home loan and I came to know that I have a non-payment entry against my name in CIBIL credit report. I enquired about it and came to know that Standard Chartered had reported it against some credit card which was issued in my name in year 2005. Now its been 5+ years. All these years Standard Chartered bank did not try to contact me. I received no phone calls, no emails and no letters in this time.

            Now I want to settle the issue and have my name removed from CIBIL defaulters list but I can't seem to reach anyone in Standard Chartered. I visited their branch and they said I'll have to use the phone banking-CustomerCare. I called them up and I was asked to write a mail to Card.[protected]@in.standardchartered.com I wrote multiple mails but haven't received a response so far. r Customer Care is unable to provide any help and as per them my case is with Recovery/Settlement team; only they can help me in the matter. I have requested them to call back on my cellph.

            My credit card was canceled due to poor billing services and banks inability to resolve the billing issue. I have sufficient artifacts (emails proofs) which will prove successful cancelation of my Standard Chartered credit card. But there was disagreement on the charges of Rs.757.14 which was as result of late fees/interest charges/service tax. But now that Rs.757.14/- has increased exponentially to Rs.18600/-. I do not want pay such huge amount for no mistake done by me.

            I believe Banks are cheating customer with the help CIBIL, and customer are clearly victimized. I am clueless how to come out of this matter.

            Seeking your help here as my loan application is pending and kept on hold.

            Please help ASAP

              Dear Concerned,

              I am writing this mail with serious concern. Kinldy look into the matter at the earliest possible.

              I am holding a visa credit card from Standard Chartered Bank, since more than 3 years and never faced the problem like this. At present I am residing in Bangalore. I used to pay the credit amount every month through cheque via courier as there is no drop box facility near to my area(I stay in Bellandur)nor do I have any Visa Online payment facility with the bank I have account with. I always send the cheque 1 week in advance from the due date. The problem started in the month of August, when I did not find the amount debited from my savings account and later on enquiring with the Standard Chartered Bank, it was reveled that, the Cunningham Road Branch where I used to send the check is closed, and executive provided me the address of Kormangla Branch. I contacted the courier agent and redirected it to Kormangala branch and also clarified with customer executive regarding the reversal of interest on late payment as it is Banks mistake of not notifying me about the address change. As the cheuqe did not get cleared from my account, even after a week I again enquired with Standard Chartered person and he asked me to stop payment as it could not be traced by the bank and also he suggested that this amount of 2076 will carry forward in next billing statement and I can pay in the September Statment. I got the Statement of 11, 894 Rs for which due date was 11 Sep(It did not include 2076Rs). I again contacted the Standard Chartered executive and he asked me to pay this months statement and for 2076Rs, a person will come to collect the cash. Now again the amount 11, 894 Rs did not got debited from my account even after crossing the due date. I again contaced with SCB and and after validating with my Cheque No .. They could not found.. I got very much pissed off by this and told the executive that Kindly send accross your person to collect the WHole amount of 11, 894 +2076 = 13970Rs.. He told one person will be coming by tommorrow i.e 24-09-08 ...No body turned up and today morning I found new statement from BAnk on my email with Rs.14974, that includes the interest plus late fee cahrge of 1004 Rs. I really got furious and contacted the customer care and the lady confirmed thatthey recieved the cheque payment of 11, 894 Rs, which is late payment and asked me to pay balance 3080 Rs either by cash by visiting the branch or by Online. I told her that I am not going to pay the any late fee and inerest as it is banks mistake and alos on previous calls customer care executive assured me that I will not have to Pay any interest.

              I really feel bad, as even after being one of the esteemed customer of SCB for so many years, I am facing this problem. I belive this is not a good practice and always there is a poor response from their customer side. They are not co-operating with customers.

              Kinly help me tackle the issue.

              I am also facing similar problems, even if i drop the cheque in drop box 5 days before due date, the cheque didn't get realized by the due date and then i bound to pay the late payment in subsequent months.
              I like to have my credit card bills through email & i would like to know how I can make payment through Internet.
              I too have issue against Standard Chartered with all proofs since I hold the card from 1996 onwards, the major issue started from July 08. I am building authenticity of proofs to meet consumer forum.

                Hello,

                I had Standard Chartered bank's Gold credit card which had 117000 credit limit when it was issued.
                I was making its use to a good extent and was paying the dues on time.

                Suddenely on a day I lost my card so I applied for a new card. This time the credit limit, without
                any intimation was reduced to 83000.

                Again in 1st week of May 08 I recieved a letter from the Bank stating My credit limit reduced to 10000.
                I had made the full payment of the outstanding dues of nearly a lakh rupees at a go but this bull bank with out any intimation reduced the limit and when I called up the customer care, they had no answer to it. The only line I got to hear is that this is Banks cconfidential policy and cannot be disclosed to the customers.

                I will really advise you all not to go for this pathetic bank's products.

                As you were paying full amount of the balance and the bank was not earning any interest from you. Your credit limit was reduced so that u suddenly go over the credit limit and the bank can charge u for overlimit fees and the interest for being over limit. It will be a good decision i[censored] stop business with this bank.

                  I have taken a personal loan in SCB on 21st of march 2007.My loan Account no:46564888.At the time of santioning loan their executive said that there would not been any preclosing charges for my loan.But now they are demanding 5% of my outstanding amount as precloser charges.Its very high and they are not yet all give any considerations.

                    Dear Sir,

                    This has refer to you letter dated 16 September 2008 claiming an outstanding due of Rs. 573947.20 against my account. Also kindly refer my telecon had with Ms Revati dated 18/09/2008 and that of Rupam of Mumbai office dated 19/09/2008 on the above subject.

                    I reiterate to mention that you are harassing me by wrongly implicating and claiming a huge amount as mentioned above. Given below are my clarifications and believes that will help you to understand the entire issue.

                    1. To begin with, this all came as a second shock to me as I was never a defaulter in any transaction with Standard Chartered Bank. First shock have already been came in the same way as of now vide a letter 19 November 2003 for an amount of Rs. 10386.06.

                    2. The credit card No. mentioned in your letter ([protected]) is not matching with my credit card No. ([protected]). Also please note that my credit card limit is only for Rs. 10000, hence how I can do a purchase of such a huge amount?.

                    3. My credit card statement never shows an outstanding due of such an amount and till date my balance outstanding with this card account is 0.00.

                    4. I anticipate that this is a mere re-presentation of old wrong claim vide letter dated 19 November 2003., which has been cleared and stated by bank that the same was happened due to wrong identity.

                    5. I want to point out that bank can’t claim or block someone’s SB account mere of defaulter’s identity in Name and date of birth (same has explained to me by your Credit card Division) .You can very well check and confirm my identity with my Fathers Name, Mother’s Name, Photo and permanent address etc.

                    6. I also like to mention that I was never been in Mumbai earlier hence I have any address in Mumbai.

                    On behalf of above details I request to remove the Block from SB account immediately and clear me from all these claims urgently. I now request you to give me written explanation on entire thing since it is repeating.

                    I am highly tempted to report the same to the media detail these experiences in the columns of National daily.

                    Standard Chartered - Credit Card — credit card sold to me with a wrong claim

                    SC bank telemarketing personnel called me to sell a platinum card. he claimed that i will get 5% cash back on fuel bills. this was the reason i agreed to take the card. Later on another official called to make a telephonic agreement. even the telephonic agreement captured the 5 % discount clause

                    However, when i received my first statement, i did not see any cash back. instead an additional 2.5% surcharge was levied. when i called customer care, the customer care executive tells me that the card does not have 5% cash back offer. i have lodged an official complaint with them.

                    But someone needs to ensure that they stop selling the credit cards with wrong claims

                    I have applied for a housing loan from LIC housing ltd, visakapatnam. to my surprise the company has produced a CIBIL report which says that there is an written off due of Rs28333/- as lodged by a credit card company. the referrence member ID is HF63161131 and control number as given in CIBIL report is 47,07,07,008.

                    My last card was surrendered in year 2005 and i do not know how the bank claims that I have to pay so much of amount.

                    such false claim from the standard chart bank is completely false and i do not owe any money to this bank.

                    such false claim by the bank is unjustified and can create problem in getting a housing loan.

                    I request you to look into this and suggest next course of action.

                    Standard Chartered Bank — False due amount claim for Credit card

                    Hi,

                    I want to register a complaint against standard chartered bank for claiming false credit card dues from me. My credit card number was [protected]

                    I owned a standard chartered credit card in 2007 and at the end of settlement I made a final payment of rs. 7,414/- Through cheque and stopped card usage.

                    Today after 4 years of time bank's customer care called me up for some due amount and as per their claim it is rs. 12000 including interest since year 2007.

                    Bank also accepts that they had received a payment of Rs. 7414 from me but they say more amount is due.

                    I asked them till now why didn't they contact me through email or phone call for this amount as it is a long time since last payment. Also I didn't receive any post about due amount statement from bank.

                    Bank customer care also spoke with me in rude manner that if I want I can go to consumer forum on this they don't care about it.

                    Please let me know what should I do in this situation and help me close this issue. I don't have any receipt of this payment as it is very old case nor any email from standard chartered about confirming closing of this issue.

                      I have deposited Rs.21, 000/- in my standard bank a/c on 28.08.08 and subsequently handed over two cheques for Rs.12785/- and Rs.8149/towards card payments. I was surprised to see the statements wherein Rs.1400/-approx. has been levied towards fee for cash deposit, return cheque fee, late charges, interest, ser.charges etc. etc. which are totally undesired and unfair trade tactics. Seeing the reputation of the bank most of the times we never check the statements and make the payment. On contacting phone banking on 21.09.08 at about 2.30 P.M. Mr. Sagar informed that these charges cannot be reversed resulting in I have to complain. Only on redressal of my complaint I will make the payment otherwise I have no other option except either move to the consumer court or bring this matter in the paper. Now, I will also check my earlier statements and payments threof. if there are overcharges those should also be refunded. Thanks!

                        Subject: - Usage of profane, vulgar and abusive language on call.

                        Sir/Madam,
                        This in regards to the personal loan installment. I need some answer regarding the late or non-payment of personal loan installments. What are the consequences of not making or making partial payment of personal installments?

                        I am sure due to any reason if the payment is not cleared; bank has the right to fine me. I do agree to make the late fee or fine or extra payment. According to the personal loan contract between me and the bank, I am liable to make go along with the bank and the rules and regulations lay down by Standard Chartered in accordance to Reserve Bank of India. However the same rules and regulations apply to the bank.

                        I need some answer to the question that rose after the calls, I have received from the Standard Chartered Bank collection Team. What are the methods that a customer care collection advisor should behave?

                        The following are the questions: -
                        1. Do I need to prove my worth to the bank after paying 16 installments?
                        2. Do I need to prove that I am not a liar?
                        3. What is my worth (in money)?
                        4. Who provided the authority to the customer care advisor to take about my integrity on the call?
                        5. Who provided the authority to the customer care advisor to use abusive, profane and vulgar language for me, my wife, my parent and my parent-in-law?
                        6. Do I need to show the proof to the bank with evidence that I was out of station?
                        7. Do I need to prove it to the bank whether I have the enough money to go out of station for official work?

                        Details regarding my personal loan account are mentioned below: -

The advisor at the collection helpdesk called my mobile and informed that she needs to deposit the amount today any how or face the consequences. My wife denied saying that it would me (card holder) who deals with all this. She then threatens my wife and started to use vulgar, offensive, abusive and profane language.

                        I would like the department to check the authentication of the call for further inconveniences. I could have also used a spy call facility to record the call and send the recording to you.

                        I would request you to please check into this matter. If any advisor is trying to teach me law, then according to the system I have the right to go to law. Please ask the advisor not to use any such tricks of the trade with me in the future. Not to use profane, vulgar, abusive and threatening language. I could sue and go to law for the harassment and threatening calls. Please hear the entire calls that we have received.

                        I would request you to please check into such cases again. I would request you to please do not call me for any non-payments. Bank has the right to sue me, take me to the court or charge me the penalty according to the rules and regulation of Reserve Bank of India.

                          I was carring SC credit card two years back and had cancelled in May 2006 after paying the compelte outstanding amount with no dues but unfortunately didnt take a confrimation letter from the bank.Now I see my name in the defaulters list of CIBIL report and unable to apply for home loan. They have actually renewed the card and that fee has gone up to Rs 6611 with all the other charges.

                          Standard Chartered people like Nitin Aggarwal and Tajuddinn from the MG Road branch, bangalore dont know how to treat a customer they actually harrassed me making me wait for almost 3 hours for a statement and did nothing at all and came out with a message as Server Down and have called me after 2 days. God Knows what may happen.

                          But I would not prefer SC in future for any of the transsactions as the people and the bank are stinking like hell and dont have any value for their customers.

                          The graphical location of the ATM Near Duraiswamy Sub way is wrong, and I can Prove it.

                          but the address(BPCL, Ekayars, 23 Venkatanarayana Road, T Nagar, Chennai 600 017) given in the ATM location may be rite but your graphical representation is wrong,
                          I wasted nearly 5 hours to locate your ATM but all in vain, Useless,
                          I got highly frustrated because of this, do provide correct information or it is better not to give any information.

                          please review all locations and provide me correct valuable explanation for this and I am not here to experiment and pin point your mistakes.

                            I had excellent credit history for more than 10 years. Bank forced upgraded card over telephone, which i did not wanted. I had gold card free for life time for which life time fees was paid by me. The said card was cancelled on issue o[censored]pgraded card, which i never wanted. They did not issue the gold card, which was paid for by me for lifetime. They did not refund the fees either. I withheld their last payment. Want compensation for deficiency in service. Now they are threatening with dire consequences including picking me from my residence by police.

                              Madam / Sir,

                              Three weeks back a person named Kumar from the Standard Chartered bank, Mylapore, called my home in India at 10.00 PM and said that I have done some transactions in my credit card. He used bad language to frighten my Father and asked him to come to the branch, the next day. My father went there and confirmed them that I have canceled my card one year back. They continued to insist and knowing that I am in US, they framed stories like I would have lost my card. My father didn't know what credit cards I am using and so he came out confused. When I said to my father that there has been no statement from the bank so far and asked him to communicate the same to the bank.

                              The bank created a faulty statement and sent to my home immediately. From then on I am contacting the customer care directly every week. But no one has responded in a proper manner. The complaint number is KMM768144I15977L0KM. Every time a different person will answer the mail and they will not have full information about the complaint. So far, four persons from the customer care has replied and no one bothered to answer the complaint. They are simply cutting and pasting the information every time.

                              I can prove to them that the card is canceled and I am holding the canceled card now to falsify the bank stories about losing the card. I always held SC in high regard. I was holding a savings bank account two years back and I found the customer care to be very good compared to other ones. But now I started to question the integrity and credibility of the bank.

                              I request the bank to act in honestly and accept faults frankly, if there were any mistakes from the bank. I still don't know how much time I have to spend on this issue. I putting in here and some other forums to get the attention of higher authorities in the bank.

                              I had also suffered problem similer to you in 2008 and suffered lot. Having suffered due to credit cards and CIBIL in 2008, have decided to help those who are also suffering due to such problems. In last 2 years I have gone through CIBIL Act, Rules and Regulations, severla other RBI guidelines as well. I am personally aware about Standard Chartered that they are doing lot of illegal activity and have already made complaint with RBI. But I want several complaints directly to RBI so that RBI is forced to issue inspection of Standard Chartered, which will bring out lot many surprises.

                                standard charted bank issue me credit card Courier by ur company on his parcel mantioned ress. address so ur team not delivered parcel when i coinfirmed ur cc she says that on his parcel alternet address mantioned (office address) but i am not delivered this aderess but she not disclosed my problem please coinfirm me that which time i recieved this courieer

                                  I am a supplementary card holder. My father was the primary card holder. He became a paralytic patient and couldnt sign if he needed anything, hence i would sign on my card and buy things. I bought a few things which exceeded the card limit but keeping in mind the standard policy of paying in part I started making huge part payments and was able to pay off a lump sum amount. My mother in law was detected with cancer last stage and my father was detected with renal problems both of whom were staying with me. My husband had to leave his work to take care of them and i was the sole income getter into the family, my salary was not sufficient to pay off medical bills and yet i was paying whatever little amount i could pay to the bank. both of them are no more and the bank is asking me to pay an amount which they say is reduced in emi which again is too high.

                                  this just goes to show that when they need customers they beg and crawl and when it comes to such circumstances they pounce. I am willing to pay the reduced amount but over a longer period of time. But they dont seem to understand that.

                                    My standard charted bank card [protected] expired in around dec 2002. Not done any transaction after my card expired. Not received any due statement or call from the bank till date. Yesterday after 6 years received call from bank that my 30000 due is pending. This was against my purchase of 1700. In nov 2002. I told to send me the statement. They told no statement can be generated after the card has been expired. Caller suggested me to pay 1700 the due payment and obtain some latter of account closing.

                                    Please help not received any statement or call from the bank this is surprise to me. Tell me what to do.

                                    Now a days CBIL is missued by the BANK as a threat to customer. CBIL are used by the CC Co. to blacklist the customer.

                                    1) so that they dont get Home loan
                                    2) no other credit card.

                                    its a kind of blackmail .. a clean chit to Bank to extorte the money from Customer.

                                      I am Nirupam Roy, credit card no. xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx, had received the e-statement of Manhattan credit card for the month of August 2008 and surprised to see the bill amount Rs. 2499.95 (BHARTI CELLULAR LTD KOLKATA).

                                      I had contacted with MANHATTAN card department ([protected]@manhattan.co.in) regarding this matter. They sent me dispute declaration form and told me that send us the scanned dispute form duly filled, signed & clear copy of the front & back of the card along with this form to our e-mail id.

                                      I don’t know the transaction date, Merchant name(knew through the e-statement of Manhattan credit card), reference number, so how will I fillup the dispute declaration form? I did not purchase anything last 2/3 months through this credit card and the credit card store in my personal file at all times. Who will bear the miscellaneous expenses (print, scan, internet & valuable times) for the unexpected harassment bill that was not my fault?

                                      I want to know, how bank paid any bills submitted by the Merchant, without my signature on the Merchant’s bill? I requested to the bank, please send me the copy of Merchant’s bill on which basis you debited the amount from my credit card but they did not response.

                                      Should I fillup the dispute declaration form and send clear copy of the both side of the card along with this form ?

                                      Manhattan Cards from Standard Chartered Bank — Harassment by Standard Chartered

                                      Dear Sir, Manhattan Cards from Standard Chartered approached me for subscription of their credit card services in 2004. They were offering free subscription for lifetime. I used the card for 2 years and subsequently stopped using the card. I last used this card in sometime in Oct 06. However I did not receive any statement for this card since then. The last purchase was for approximately Rs. 1500.00. Since I did not receive any statement I missed the payment for this card. Subsequently representatives of Standard Chartered Bank contacted me for payment of the amount and I paid Rs., 2000/- sometime in September 07. However I continue to get threatening calls from the executives of the bank. I believe I have settled the principal of the amount but they want me to pay more than Rs. 8000/- towards late payment and interest on latest payment which has gone into a vicious cycle now.
                                      My card No, [protected]. The said card has been returned clearing all the dues within the due date, durin g July 2009. Even then I am getting the monthly statement adding the monthly charges and showing balance for payment. Kindly look into this and cancel the above card. As on date I do not have any dues payable as per my records.

                                        I am not able to understand the balance that is due on my Credit Card number XXXX XXXX XXXX 3717

                                        I gave a call to the customer care on 9th (or 10th) August and I was told that there was a balance transfer INTO my account sometime in March-May. I DID NOT ask for any balance transfer ever. The statements that you send to the customers do not mention the details very clearly. It has sentences like "KUCH BHI ON EMI" etc. This is what creates confusion otherwise I would have anyways raised an alarm earlier.

                                        And oh yes, I remember, my statements were not sent to me those days, saying that the office was being shifted to some other city, so the bank was unable to send the monthly statements.
                                        When I had talked to customer care 3-4 days back, why hasn't there been any response from the bank yet!!

                                        I am very much surprised by the way these kinda banks function these days. Intolerable.Incompetent.

                                        For any working class citizen, any such problem is a mental harassment. I mean, after a long days work, this is the last thing that I would want in my life.

                                        regarding aboue matter i gone to Your main branch In

                                        enquriy... the online customer care viewed my particulars and
                                        they reversed the system which is generated wrongly ... they given
                                        the surity that there is no payment to be made further...

                                        also i requested al that to close my entire account against
                                        to my name ...they accepted my request ...


                                        After three days i got the SMS from your side that my account has been
                                        closed ...

                                        my qquiries is

                                        1) whether my settlement of payment to your bank is completed???
                                        2) whether my account is fully closed ?? there by i cant use in future ...//
                                        3) whether i can receive the hard copy of close of my balance payment
                                        & accoung closing ???

                                        I have made this complain to Head of customer care of Standard Chartered Bank in Chennai in India as well as customer care unit in Oman Muscat. My top up loan was declined indicating that due to over limt of Credit card use and delay payments. Pl see the following details of my credit card summery statements based on last 12 months bank statements.

                                        I expected to get this loan and decided to pay my son's college fees in Australia who is followinf a Hotel Management Degree . As was unable to pay my son's college fees he has to return back to sri lanka by end of Sep 08. This matter was with all high ranking officers in Standard Chartered Bank in Oman. Pl clarfy this matter and help me to get my top up loan by 30 Sep 08 to secure my son's education. My loan payments were regular to the bank for last 13 months.

                                        This is resulted to decline my Top up loan which was applied in Aug 08. Standard Chartered Bank Loan Dept need me to maintain my credit Card below 1500.000 O.R. for last six months to grant my Top up loan. If this errors are corrected by the Bank the statements 8 months Credit card usage is very clear from Feb 08 down ward up to date are very clear to satisfy the Bank loan division.

                                        I would be very much grateful to you to correct the statements mistakes at your earliest and reply me through mail and advise the Loan dept to re process my Top up loan earliest possible.
