[Resolved]  State Bank of India — NON DELIVERY OF CREDIT CARD

Hello Everyone,

I am writing this mail in great disappointment. I was using SBI credit card for 8 yrs now and never defaulted on my payments.Due to my spending on the card SBI had upgraded the card to Platinum.I came to know about this when I was out of the country.

I mailed to SBI customer care requesting them to send the card to when i come to India for a short visit. But to my surprise they informed me that its their company policy that they will accept request only thru phone and email request are not entertained.

After upgrading the card they have cancelled my old card which I was having in my possession. So in short I never received my new card and my old card is in cancelled stage.When i visited India in April 2012 I called customer care and requested for the card.. They informed me that it will take 5 working days to dispatch the card.As I couldn`t stay that long i asked for any other alternative to which the customer care executive denied.

Seeing the arrogant attitude and no helping nature from customer care executive I asked her to cancel the card which she was happy to do .I think SBI has not changed much in their attitude towards customer. They put Gandhiji's poster but behave opposite to what the poster says.

Its my request to all , please be careful with CREDIT CARD as they will follow you till grave to get the money but will not help you and avoid solving the issued by saying "Company Policy" doesn't permit.

Hi,

I am Pankaj Trivedi Manager Operations in one of the leading Web Hosting Company at Rajkot, Gujarat.

Months back some local sales rep contacted me to offer some scheme of Credit Card of SBI, I let him give his demonstration and thought to apply for the offered Credit Card.

I finished whatever formality was required to apply for a Credit Card. Submitted all necessary documents including my ID Proof, Residence Proof, Office Proof, Salary Proof etc.

After submission of all the documents they initiated the telephonic verification of my phones at Residence as well as Office. That was followed by the physical verification of my Residence and the office. They also inquired about me at my office in my absence. Everything was fine with me and I considered as part of their standard procedures and I fully cooperated.

After 15 days time a courier guy came to my place - in my absence to deliver the Credit Card and demanded my presence and my ID Proof. My wife is also doing a job so she was also not present at home at that time, so my 10 year old son called me to let me know about that courier. I talked with that courier guy and let him knew that all required formalities with regard to verification had been finished and he can delivered my Credit Card to my mom and obtain her signature.

He straight away refused and rudely demanded my presence and my ID proof, and told me failing to which he will not deliver the Card and would return it to SBI authority. All my request went to vain and he went away without delivering the card.

There after I have contacted SBI people several time to delivered my Credit Card that is already issued in my name, but nothing is coming out. Of course I do receive several intimation on various schemes launched by them from time-to-time. :-)

I am not writing this because I am desperately waiting for my SBI credit card but I am writing it here so that people can know that even before issuance of the CC if the management of SBI is acting like a deaf and dumb then what would happen if its client faces some genuine issue in his/her financial transaction while he/she has used their CC. BEWARE of such management.

This is the state that i received a telephonic call from the courier company regarding the confirmation of the address to deliver the credit card to my residence, the waybill No. beairng SB[protected] [ CALL RECEIVED ALMOST 5 DAYS BACK] but as of today i have not recieved the same.
Pls make sure that it will reach me at the earliest and wil not be misused by any others.

MY SBI CREDIT CARD DESPATCHED ON 20/10/2008 HAS NOT REACHED ME TILL TODAY AT MY ADDRESS. THE NO GIVEN BY BANK FOR MY CONSIGNMENT IS SB[protected]. PL INFORM ABOUT MY CONSIGNMENT
