[Resolved]  Tata-Aig — Cheating by tele executives in making policies

Dear Sir,

I introduce my self as C Kannan,

I had seen Tata- AIG advertisement ( Maha Raksha policy)in Yahoo web site and sent an mail to TATA - AIG, in the last week of June. Based on that mail I have received lot of tele calls from tata Tele call executives from the following nos[protected], 67204127, 67204134, 67204132, 67204135, 67204125 continuously during the period of Last week of June 08 and July Ist week. They were all explaining the details of policy and other features. Finally on 4th July I decided to take a policy i.e. Health care policy for my family, for which the premium amount per annum is Rs 13108/-. For this policy I opted my payment thro my credit card, Citibank, visa card. For that too I was promised by your executives that, this premium would be split into EMIs for nine months and my monthly charges would be around Rs 1460/-.Then as usual your regular formalities like verification officer called, again he also detailed all about policy, then I gave my credit card no and only the expiry date. Even I have not given no cvv no of the card. Then I was given an authorization No for my transaction. so the first policy was over which one I originally opted.

The same day some time later I received a call from one of your another executive hope if I remember the name exactly he introduced himself as Mr Amit srivatsava, and he claimed himself as one of the senior personnel in Tata- Aig. He said There was a lucky draw in Tata AIG, that who ever takes policy worth of Rs 25000/- will be eligible, and the prizes were a Lap top, fridge, washing machine and a sony music system. Either I could opt for the prize item or I could claim it as money reimbursement. For that I have to take one more policy worth of Rs 12000/-, Which is a dummy policy, for that money will not not be debited in my account and only to their higher officials he wanted to show some value to include my self in that lucky draw. And also he added there were only two of them right now fro the lucky draw and I would be the third one I would definitely get any one of the prize. I didnt promise him any thing.

But immeaditely I received a call from another executive named Mr Saxena, he also claimed that he is one of the senior personnel, and he repeated whatever Mr Amit told, Finally he could able to convince me for the dummy policy without any debit in account. Then he told that soon I would receive a call from their verification officers, and initially I should speak with them that I didn't need that policy as Just now I bought one policy, and it would be financial burden to me is that and all, Then finally I should accept that policy ( which one is dummy). They would give me a authorization number which he( Mr. Saxena) needed for the lucky draw. But in any time I should not talk with verification officers that what he promised for the lucky prize. ( I was promised for the lucky prize of Laptop worth of Rs 28000)and all. Same way as I mentioned earlier all the formalities by verification officers called and I spoke with them as directed by Mr. Saxena. This time the verification officers insisted me for my credit card cvv no, but I didnt give them. Then even though they gave me a authorization number. I was waiting for a call from Mr. Saxena to give my authorization number till that evening but he didn't call me.

When I had left my office and reached home by around 6 ..30 pm in that evening ( 4 th July ) again I received a call from Mr. Saxena stating that he wanted that authorization number. I told him that it was in my office and I had not brought along with me. He said before that evening he needed that number to put me in lucky draw and his boss was following him. I conveyed him only by next day morning I could able to give him the number. Again he suggested to take one more dummy policy for that authorization number for which again promised the all old stories and convinced me to talk with verification officers. Again I received a call from verification officers for the second dummy policy. Finally they gave another authorization number for the second dummy policy.

In this condition I had one original policy and two dummy policy in my name but I was promised for no debit in my account by Mr. Saxena. But Mr.. Saxena didn't call me again for that those dummy authorization numbers till date. From the next day it self (5th July) I was trying for that telephone nos which I mentioned in the starting of my mail. But no body was picking up the phone. Again I am repeating till date I have not received any call from that gentle man Mr. Saxena. On top of it 7th July morning I received a SMS message from my credit card bank that my credit limit has crossed more than 80% of my limit, I shocked to note that and I immediately called my bank. I was told that I had been debited for an amount of Rs 13108, Rs 12, 208 & Rs 12 893 all in one shot. The total amount of Rs 38209/-.

The reputed company like TATA-AIG has not kept any of their promises.There were two dummy policies which have been debited in my account, and the one which I had been promised for EMIs, that also debited in one shot. You please try to under stand as a salaried man how we can pay this much big amount that too in one shot.

As I couldn't able to contact Mr. Saxena after that, I called the toll free no and reported about this fraud. I spoke to one Ms Samidha on 7th July by around 16.45 pm She had given me the complaint registration no[protected]. But she told without proper policy no she couldn't able to register any complaint.

Again on next day on 8th July I found one no from web site i.e.[protected], and I spoke to one Ms Kedhari, in detail about how I was cheated by your people. She gave me one more no[protected] to report about issue. But even before I called to that no I had one call from[protected] by around 3.40 pm. She was very kind enough and in asking me the issue in detail.. She was asking me for the policy no. Since I had not received the policies yet I couldn't able to give her the policy no what she demanded..

When I back to home I received the policy copies then I called her( Ms Hiral ) again on 9th July morning. and gave her the policy nos which I wanted to cancel. She said she would forward it to your cancellation dept and they will call me again. But till since morning I spoke to her again, or till I am trying to send this mail with all detail I have not received any call from the cancellation dept.

To be cancelled policies(Dummy policies)

Criticare ITCC[protected] Rs 12, 893/-
Maharaksha ITMR[protected] Rs 12, 208/-

I am worried you have mentioned there will be 25% cancellation charges if we cancel within a month. The 25 % will cost me Rs 6275 /- for the two dummy policies for which The TATA -AIG is responsible.

I would like to add some more thing I am one of the ex employee of the Tata group. I am having good reputation with TATA group.

I am already having a policy with TATA -AIG My policy no is C[protected] and I am paying the annual premium of Rs 13 995/- .


Can you please help me to reverse the money back.

Same thing i got ... my credit card bill has been deducted four times...while simply talking 4 times with agent...I have given comlaint customar care at Tata-AIG.

I am waiting for reply...If I am not getting proper response what can I do?

Tata-Aig — Refusal

My TATA AIG Policy No.C[protected] had lapsed due unavidable circumstances. I submitted proposal for revival of the lapsed policy together with cheque/s for Rs61, 906/-. The insurer did not contract me for any procedural requirement in any manner.Now they have informed me about their inability to revive the policy. It is not fair on the part of insurer to refuse revival without any good and sufficient reason
Yesterday I have same problem with the TATA-AIG. I think that this company is not looking for the long time benifites. They cheet the people and then encash. I suggest you all those who are having policies with TATA-AIG, better to withdraw from the policies. Be carefull With TATA-AIG insurance company.

HSBC and TATA AIG — False policy

I was using HSBC cridit card I got a call from TATA Aig and they told me to take one policy from them which i denied they told me that they would be sewnding me the policy details and if I like it then i can take the policy and they would call to take the pemission. I never received any documents and next month they took Rs 712 from my account. After calling them they said they will refund the amount but then they again took Rs 702 from my account.I called them and they again said they will refund the money. It has been 6 months since I hgave been calling them and now they have refunded me Rs 1404. But then the delay caused by them has resulted in some late fine from HSBC on the card. Now neither HSBC nor TATA Aig is refunding the late fine which is close to Rs. 4000.

Tata AiG health care + — Non reciept of policy documents

Dear Sir/ Madam

I am really surprised the casual behaviour of the responsible staff od Tata whose name is synonymous of credibility.

I purchased police on december 2008 my policy No is ITHC [protected]. However, after many phone call and reminder I have still could not recieve police documents. Even I could not declare in my income tax return.

<any time marketing staff even emphasized to purchase ( som eMr. Rahul) onother policy even he misbehaved in phone.

Plz do some thing.

HSBC — wrongly attachment of TATA AIG Policy

HSBC credit card No:[protected],

HSBC BANK added without my permission TATA AIG Policy added one year back.
Recently i have received call from customer care department, they were infomed to me outstanding payment is approximatelyRs: 6500.If you pay RS 2000 it will be clerared all the amount .

I have paid that amount Rs:2000 on 21/04/09 but evevn though i am geeting calls from HSBC and torchering.

HSBC Credit Card — Unlawfully charging for a cancelled policy from Tata-Aig

It is matter of great regret that HSBC Credit Card & TATA-AIG are charging unlawfully Rs 3906.00 in place of Rs 99 only for r a cancelled policy from TATA-AIG.

Cancelled TATA-AIG Policy No-OOHC[protected].

Please note that I did cancel the above mentioned policy within 3 to 4 days of its inception. As per Tata-Aig, only Rs 99/- should be levied on me.

But unfortunately they have charged the total policy amount + the cancelled amount as follows:

In statement (12 Sept to 11 Oct 09)

1 October 2009- [protected] Rs 317.25

In statement (12 Oct to 11 Nov 09)

[protected]-- Rs 3489.75

Actual Expenses made by me:

If you will add Rs 99/- for cancellation charge of the tata-aig policy, it should come out Rs 4220/- only.

But they charged me once again extra Rs 3489.75 for the same above mentioned cancelled Tata-Aig policy.

As a result of their wrong entries, you billed me Rs 7702.79---- (Rs 4220/- (the valid Amt) + Rs 3489.75 (the wrong & unjustified amt for the cancelled tata-aig policy) - Rs 6 . 96 (excess Amt paid for Oct 09))

This is shows their lack of concern for the customer & ways of exploiting the poor customers.

Despite I called repeatedly HSBC & Tata-Aig no body is sorting out the problem.

Tata-Aig phone banking people called me & persuaded me to opt for a Inurance policy & assured me that I can cancell the polocy within 7 days without any charge.

But unfortunately they have charged the total policy amount + the cancelled amount i.e, Rs 3906/- instead of Rs 99/- only as follows:

Tata-Aig — Regarding TATA-AIG policy

Recently, i have taken health insurance(Tata-AIG) thru online, and i have received hard copies of policy details, actually my spouse name printed wrongly, so i drop an email to customercare of Tata-AIG and I have been trying to reach the number which they have mentioned on the site, but that is wrong toll free number and i haven't received reply mail from them. But policy amount has taken from my credit card,
In this situation how can i proceed further....to whom should I compliant regarding this....

TATA AIG — over billing

Due to non receipt of bill i may hav not paid or made the payment a little late,there has been a late charge ,i had requested the charge to be reversed and the EXECUTIVE HAD AGREED TO DO SO IN THE MONTH OF 16.6.09,i had paid cash.subsequent to that i have been sending an amount of Rs 600 irrespective of wether i receive thebill or not .

Tata-Aig — Non-receipt of Home Protection Plan Policy

Sub : Non-Issuance of “Home Protection Plan” Policy despite assurances

A)FACTS

1). I am holding TATA-AIG Policy – Health Care – ITHC[protected]. Insurance period – 18 February,
2010 to 17 February 2011.

2).The above Policy is a renewed policy from FY 2009-10. In 2009-10, alongwith said Health Care policy , “Home Protection Plan” was given free of cost. Details of same are : Master Policy No [protected], Certificate No 17066. Sum Insured – Rs 5 lacs.

3)At the time of renewal of Health care Policy for the FY 2010-11, I was promised that the renewal will be all existing benefits including Home Protection Policy. TATA-AIG had sent an SMS to this effect, and was also telephonically confirmed before renewal. In fact, their representative also telephonically confirmed that TATA-AIG shall issue a letter to confirm the same. He had stated that the Home Protection Policy was being reviewed by management for changes and is temporarily suspended. Upon re-activation, I shall get the said Policy. He had stated that the whole process would take around two months. Meanwhile, TATA-AIG would issue a confirmatory letter to this effect.

4) However, on Renewal of Health Care Policy, Home Protection Policy has not been renewed. As on today, I am holding Home Protection Policy.

5) Various complaints with TATA-AIG thru’ numerous calls to Customer care centre, e-mail ‘s have not yielded in issuance of Home Protection Policy.

6).During marketing of their Well-insurance Policy (cashless policy), I had again conveyed displeasure with TATA-AIG due to non-fulfilment of promises on Home Protection Policy. TATA-AIG confirmed that their representative had erred in putting up my Policy for renewal alongwith Health Care Policy.

7) On expressing my resolve to pursue this case legally, TATA-AIG gave me a call around August end that Home Protection Policy is being issued to me. But till date i have not received the said Policy.

B) COMPLAINT

1) TATA-AIG before Renewal of Policy had confirmed thru’ SMS, telephonically confirmed that my benefit of Free Home Protection Plan shall continue as before and shall be renewed free of cost. I was also promised a written confirmation to this effect. However, till date neither I have received a letter or Policy documents.

2).As late as August, 2011, I was again promised by responsible Officer (claiming to having authority to settle the complaint) that Policy is being issued to settle my numerous complaints thru’ e-mails, telephone calls. But till date, I am not in receipt of Policy.

C) ACTION SOUGHT BY ME

1) Immediate issuance of Home Protection Plan Free of Cost. It should be effective from March 2010 to February 2011 as it would have in normal course. Or if it is current dated, no claim period clause should not be applicable and the covering letter should specifically mention it.

2) Compensation of Rs 50000 towards harassment, keeping my risk uncovered(had there been claim, I would not have got any claim money), spending of my executive time, money & energy.

3) In case TATA-AIG is not honoring its commitment, I request you to give transcripts of various calls from Feb 2010 till date so as to pursue the case legally.

In case of dissatisfactory disposal of my abovesaid action sought by me, I reserve my right to approach necessary legal forums at your cost & risk.

I am in receipt of letter from TATA-AIG stating that my complaint is under examination. I fail to understand that once TATA representative has confirmed issuance of Policy, where is the need of further investigation.

IT IS ALMOST SEVEN MONTHS NOW. POLICY IS YET NOT ISSUED.

In case, there is any unfortunate incident, in absence of Policy, TATA-AIG would be responsible to compensate me.

Its a pure case of harassment. First they don't issue promised Policy, later on they agree to issue and now they say the matter is under investigation.

TATAs have sent a letter that Poicy is being despatched. Its fortnight now...Policy is still not sent. Overall the period without issuance of Policy is 8 months. ITS DISGUSTING TO BE WITH TATAs & yet get treated like BEGGARS.

Why there is no mention of compensation for harassment for 8 months ? Only court judgements can make them bend. Their internal intelligent executive team seems to have been paid to SOMEHOW dispose of persisting customer. i wonder, uneducated customer can ever extract justice from such breed of Executives. They need to be PROACTIVE. After court battle, everyone wakes up. Where's the magic of TATA Brand?

I have got 3-4 policies with TATAS ... I feel cheatedby being with TATAs.

I shall be sending my case to Mr Ratan Tata, just to make him aware how his highly paid executives have disregard for a common customer and injustice meted out for eight months (still counting)...

I am chasing TATA AIG thru' E-mails, Telecon, & Indian Consumers Complaint Forum to get captioned Policy documents. The tagged letter posted on this site on Sep 15, 2011, below this letter carries the details of my complaint.

After so much interaction, I could extract written reply ( letter ref. CRE 078 dt. Sept 30, 2011 ) from TATA-AIG, stating that the Policy Documents have been issued. However, another one & half month has lapsed since then and I have still not got the Policy Documents. Does it take so long in TATA-AIG to despatch Policy document after issuance ? OR it's just to put on record with Indian Consumer Forum that complaint has been settled. ?

It is fortunate that there is no claim against this Policy, otherwise I wonder how it would have been dealt by your Company ? Of the Policy period of 12 months, 9 months have lapsed. The delay seems to be deliberate to cover up the fault at TATA-AIG of not placing the renewal request in time and now the Company's terms & conditions have changed.
My complaint with Indian Consumer Forum for compensation is pending. I shall be constrained to pursue legally for causing harassment & inconvenience to me.

The TRUST of TATAs is at stake. If such things happen at TATAs, it is matter of great shame to b e associated with TATAs.
