This complaint is against receptions/nurse Revati, who is ver vey rude and doesn't show and understand Patient's condition. She doesnt have manners to talk.

I wont ever go to Fortis because of people like Revati.

Dear Fortis Team, Today I went to see Dr. Shankar (ENT Specialist) at your Chennai Hospital. This is my first time visit to Fortis. I am having severe pain in my left ear and went in between my work to see the Doctor. I paid Rs 600 including Rs 100 Registration fees. The staff informed me that there are 3 patients before me. I waited for more than an hour and noticed that people coming after me are allowed to see the Doctor. I also noticed that they did not pay any fees at the counter and were directly going and seeing the Doctor. I also raised the concern with Mrs. Lakshmi and she could not do anything regarding this. It looks like the staff's guest get the priority. I then approached Mr. Joseph and he helped me in refunding my Rs 600. I took some time off from work and had a very bad experience with your staff service. I will never advise Fortis Malar Hospital to anyone as this is the worst service I have ever seen in such a reputed hospital. Your staff just wasted my time and after all the travel, I'm still in lot of pain and searching for another hospital. Regards, Vikas

      Address: Gurgaon, Haryana

Dear Maam/ Sir, This is about the modern, state of the art Fortis hospital of Gurgaon. 22 nd April is an unforgettable day in our lives. What was supposed to be a visit to a hospital for a CtScan and some other tests turned out to be a complete nightmare for us. COMPLAINT AND INCIDENT NO. 1 My husband and I reached the swanky seven star like Fortis hospital, Gurgaon at eight in the morning on the mentioned day for a few tests prescribed by the doctor for a suspected infection of the larynx. For those who may not be aware, larynx is our voice box. Fasting is necessary for the CECT examination since it involves injection of a dye into the body. Due to some delays at the billing counter, and more, our 9 O cock appointment got delayed by more than an hour and a half. Both o[censored]s waited patiently outside the radiology rooms, chatting and laughing. We discussed everything from the fancy hospital interiors to the interesting wall mounts to the young nurse who seemed too young and uninterested to be there! My husband’s name was called out, an attendant walked over to us, asked a few standard questions about previous experience, if any, of CT and took his signatures on a form. He was asked to change into their overalls and get the cannula fitted for dye injection. As fate would have it, the same young nurse was assigned to fit the cannula on my husband’s wrist. And then began our nightmare no. 1!! And this is just the first one… I was watching through the small peep glass in the door to see what she was doing- I usually would not have bothered, but, since I was so jobless I just got up to look… and thank my stars that I did!! I saw the nurse clean the back of his wrist, and begin to insert the needle… then she took it out and inserted again… she again pulled it out and reinserted it-this happened four times. As she continued, I could see my husband’s expressions change from calm to discomfort to pain. The cannula still not in position, she injected the flush liquid, or whatever it was, into the needle. Immediately there was a swelling in the area and I saw my husband speak and gesture to the nurse as if to say he was feeling very dizzy and uncomfortable. Not being able to keep my patience anymore, I went into the room at this point and asked him if he was fine. He made the same gestures to tell me he was feeling very sick and before I could even comprehend, I saw him fall to one side on the bed. He had blacked out!! To my horror, the lady, completely oblivious to what had happened, continued to fiddle around with the needle!! I gathered my voice to inform her – I said- He has fainted- she gave a blank look. Assuming language was a problem I repeated in Hindi. To my complete dismay, I realised she was absolutely incapable o[censored]nderstanding what was happening. I rushed out into the corridor and called out to a senior looking doctor for help. He mobilized others and rushed to help. They immediately wheeled out the bed and through a series of corridors, we reached (what I came to know later was) EMERGENCY. I just ran behind them, knowing not what to do. Guess I have never felt so helpless in my life! A group of white clad people surrounded him – doing a lot of things- pulling out an ECG, measuring his sugar levels and blood pressure, fitting in a drip etc. They finally got him back to his senses!! A bundle of nerves by now, I tried telling them about the whole build up to the climax, but, none would really hear it. They kept explaining how people cannot see blood, how they get frightened by needles and how his blood sugar levels were too low (67 was the count- but he was absolutely normal before the cannula insertion) I only realised much later that they had swiftly removed and replaced the cannula, now on his hand. It was only much later that it dawned on me how the hospital goofed up, made us go through hell and then made us pay for that as well-Goes without saying I paid for the emergency services rendered! What a fool I made of myself!! But I guess when your near and dear one is half dead/ alive and in their hands, money is of course the last thing on your mind- leave alone getting into any ‘gyan vardhan’ sessions and arguments about incapable nurses and staff! And believe me, this was just a curtain raiser!! With Gurgaon having become the hub for global medical tourism, is this really what one expects from such a Hospital... I want the hospital to apologise to us in written and not only accept their incompetence and error, but, also own up to the covering up act whereby they declared the reason for fainting as low sugars/ fear of needles/ fear of blood (and all such nonsense) and did not accept cannula insertion as a cause. For the trauma caused and the apathy of charging me in emergency for a mistake committed by them, I want them to compensate me with a sum of no less than Rs. 2.5 lacs apart from the above. COMPLAINT AND INCIDENT NO. 2 After the above was over, the CECT was conducted, with me reiterating to the technician involved that it was for suspected infection of the larynx and that this was the patient who was actually rescheduled due to fainting- just so that there was no goo[censored]p with the sequencing and purpose. Then we had our food and returned home to wait for reports. All reports received for Chest X ray, Chest CECT, RFT, TSH, Sputum test, Sputum culture were normal and within acceptable limits. However, the CECT neck report was a huge shock!! The report is enclosed for your kind viewing. The report gave measurements of a lesion- growth in the larynx and a compromised airway and use of such words like neoplastic a strong indication of malignancy. A young, reasonably health conscious, well to do family with two small children, the report sent absolute shock waves through us and our families. That evening and night followed the morning of next day have been undoubtedly the most traumatic time ever in our lives. Death stared us in the face, we felt! We went to another hospital the next day. For a man who showed no clinical symptoms suggestive of such extent, we were suggested a MRI by a senior doctor at Medanta hospital the next day. The MRI report received the next morning was a huge and pleasant surprise- there was absolutely no lesion in the larynx or any compromise of the airway!! This was in complete sync with the clinical test through flexible laryngoscopy conducted by the doctors. I went back to Fortis to meet the radiologist who had written the report, a lady by the name of Ms. Aparajita Mehta. She had no explanation for the same. She admitted casually that the patient might have swallowed during the CECT and this may have caused the mal reporting!! But I want to ask Fortis- who is supposed to have told him that- was it not the requirement of the test that the patient be given due instructions before carrying out the test? And if such a little act of swallowing can bring such extreme impact into the results, then should the hospital not recall the patient and redo the test? Such apathy from the radiologist is unacceptable!! I demand compensation of Rs. 20 lacs for the extreme trauma caused [ plus expenses of the loss of working days of the family concerned, repeat hospital and doctor visits, MRI, Air tickets and travel of family and relatives to give us support in theses trying times} and an unconditional apology from the hospital along with refund of all fees charged. I look forward to very hasty action on this and a fruitful solution to the issue. Thank you Regards Shalini Bansal [protected] [protected]@gmail.com

Hi I rushed to the hospital in night hours from my home in sector 62 behind Fortis hospital, since I had a deep cut in my left hand and entered the emergency room for treatment my wife escorted me to the room doctors treated the cut and gave 4 stiches in my hand and recommended not to move it. Now comes the billing part I went on for the billing total amount was around 2000 INR but we were carrying only 1500 INR only so requested hospital staff the below options, I was there with my 8 months pregnant wife whose consultation is also going in Fortis Noida. 1. Kindly let us go for a while and we will deposit the amount since we dont have the debit card with us : Fortis management said no 2. Accompany us to the house through u r vehicle: Fortis management said no 3. Since we were new to the town and don't have relatives here. So lastly I left my wife as security deposit in the hospital and went to my home in such a condition to bring cash. Is this the way you treat patients and those who regularly visit u r hospital. I hated this experience and recorded all the conversation on video with hospital staff, we are not ATM machines we are humans respect mankind.. FORTIS THE WORST ORGANIZATION...

          Hi,

Through a friend I came to know that there are at least 4 more victims of Fortis hospital apart from my friend Major(retd.) Pankaj Rai who lost his wife Seema in a botched kidney and pancreas transplant operation.

I am lodging this complaint on his behalf as well as requesting all those victims of medical malpractice by greedy directors and doctors of Fortis hospital to come forward and join hands and evidence to bring this money minded business down to dust.

          Together everyone achieves more.

          Thanks and regards,

Hi, this is Abhilash, I had been admitted at Forties Kalyan for OPD of my Leg injury, The overall experience of the the hospital was good. I work for ICICI Bank and my medical insurance was covered under ICICI Lombard. At the first query by father before shifting my room from ICU to general ward, the hospital staff did not guided properly about difference between general ward. twin share and Delux. They only told the major difference lies in the room rent which was minimal of 200 to 300 Rs. The didn't guided us about the other cost which gets increase according to room you opt for. Its was almost 8.30 pm when they told us that the total amount of expanse was 1.92 lakhs and only 1.02 lakhs as been approved by the insurance company. The difference amount of Rs. 88500 needs to be paid by us. RS.88500 majorly consisted RS.58000 doctor consultation fee and Rs. 15000 room rent which was not included in the insurance as my eligibility was only for Twin Sharing room facilities. Because of lack of information and guidance I ultimately had to pay the difference amount by borrowing from others. If the person over the counter would had guided properly. who is doing this work day in and day out this hassle would not have happened. Kindly help me with solution if possible. Hi I am daughter of a CGHS beneficiary(Pensioner) and have undergone the following at Fortis Banerghata. 1)My Dad was diagnosed with Hemoroids and was suggested surgery. I checked the list of hospitals and chose Banerghata for Surgery. 2)I called up Fortis Banerghata three weeks back around 20th December and confirmed the procedure for the CGHS empanelled patients. I spoke to Ms Suma/Rafique and was told on phone that the patient has to be shown in OPD at own cost and then only surgery cost would be given to CGHS patient. 3)I stay in VNPura which is 24 kms from Banerghata Road but had good faith in Fortis hence I chose the Fortis Banergata for operation and got the CGHS Surgery letter issued in the last week of December. This letter had mention of Hemroids. This was 3rd time I called them. 4)On 9th Jan I took my father and went to OPD where doctor suggested colonoscopy, It was told that around 3000 rupees for colonoscopy would be charged. AS I decided to get surgery done in Fortis I dint go anywhere and spent around 4K(3k+other charges like consultation fee for the entire process). I have spoken to Ms Suma Personally on 9th Jan and she looked into the letter and said that the charges for surgery would be reimbursed only but not colonoscopy and other treatment process. I believed her and then did the colonoscopy done on 9th Jan Itself. After the reports were given the surgery was confirmed by Doctor on 10th Jan when I came again to show the reports of My father then the doctor said they have stopped the CGHS patients and we have to pay for surgery. After lots of confusion and their internal talks I went to Admin again and asked Suma and also Rafique. It was told on 10th Jan that they had stopped the services as govt pays less money so they want payment only for surgery. Its highly surprising that on 9th Jan and before whenever I had called them they never said what they told on 10th. It was a clear intention of extracting money from a Pensioner who was in extreme need of treatment in such a cunning and harassing way. Why did not Suma tell me that they have stopped the services on 9th January?? What happened that they refused to give me in written about what they spoke? Mr Rafique said that as far as decision from Mr Narayanmurthy they had shown doors to us. Not only this It was made clear that Govt of India Letter(CGHS) holds no value for them . I have 2 complaints here 1) Obvious Misinformation by Ms Suma (Admin Fortis hospital) on 9th January 2) Disregard of Govt allotted letter. Can u please reply me and shall I expect an explanation on the above??

Though Fortis Group is recognized as one of the best in the medical fraternity with a huge empire to boast of, my experience at Fortis Hospital, Vasant Kunj turned into a nightmare in just 7 days. My father was admitted here under Dr. Sabyasachi Bal and Dr. Rakesh Kumar with a ‘promise and assurance of quality life’. My father was in doubt that his lungs carried anything malignant and these doctors suggested that through means of a biopsy, underlying problems will come out clear in the picture and it’s a very safe process. He was admitted for a procedure called Plueroscopy/ thocacoscopy(biopsy of the lungs) purely to get a satisfaction although all the previous reports were clear and he was doing fine. We were also informed that it was only a 45 mins procedure and he should revive back the next day. The day his surgery was performed and for the next 3 days my father showed signs of improvement and the biopsy results were clear too. However, on the 4th day he abruptly acquired an infection(where we were hoping that the doctors would shift him out of the ICU). He was unable to breathe properly. We weren’t told about the cause of infection by any of the doctors and they kept shunning our queries until we scanned the reports ourselves and found out that the infections were due to bacterias which are hospital-borne. My father was put on 100% life support on the 5th day of his stay as the infection spread all over his body in 24-48 Hrs. What surprised us the most was that the doctors at the ICU were carefree after putting him onto the ventilator and showed untimeliness in giving the right antibiotics. Knowing that his body showed increased swelling day by day( sign of septic, septicemia) which is no ordinary condition, we were told that this is due to the clogged food in his wind pipe and it was nothing but gas accumulation hence the swelling. They kept on experimenting on him, performing all the not-required tests on him building on the bill for the family to bear. The ICU where he was kept was the most unhygienic one could imagine. There were uncovered dustbins right next to the beds and flies wandering over his body and the only remedy they had was to remove the flies by means of an electric fly swatter. 24 hrs visitors were allowed inside. We were shocked to see the condition of the ICU but were helpless about it. My father’s condition kept deteriorating and the doctors had no answers to us in fact when we told them we know about the bacteria so we were told straight off “We are living in India, bacterias are very common and they live on our palms too”. My father succumbed to his condition and died on the 7th day due to negligence of the doctors and the hospital that caused Septicemia in his body. The bacterias which came out clear in his blood reports were Pseudomonas and MRSA. We were horrified to know about these when we Googled that such levels of bacterias breed in hospitals like Fortis. Had they maintained a decent standard of hygiene and treated him well on time, he would have lived his life the way he had dreamt of before being admitted to this hospital and getting my elder sister married which he was so looking forward to. Interestingly, Dr Bal admitted that he was “not denying that this is because of negligence and that the bacterias were hospital borne” and that he was only “sorry for whatever happened” but “it was not in his hands“, the case was an ICU case. That was the attitude we got from a doctor who states “22 years of experience in AIIMS”. Well, I know how valuable life is. My daddy wanted to live, live for many more years and he certainly did not deserve such a painful death. He was a fighter. He was a true army man. I cannot get him back but this review can certainly help alarm someone of the practices this hospital performs and the kind of senior doctors it has. IT’S THE WORST HOSPITAL TO GO TO!

COMPLAINTS AGAINST FORTIS HOSPITALS, ANANDAPUR, KOLKATA, DR RAJA DHAR, ICCU DEPARTMENT-FORTIS FOR DEATH OF MY FATHER KANAI LAL ACHARJEE DUE TO MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE.
I, Partha Pratim Acharya of Krishnanagar, Nazir Pukur Par, Near Nine Bullets’ Club, Agartala, Tipura(West) went to Fortis Hospital, Anandapur, Kolkata for treatment of chronic cough problem & better quality of life of my father Shri Kanailal Acharjee by air from Agartala to Kolkata on 05.11.13.Our return ticket to Agartala was on 08.11.2013(the date was fixed based on our prior discussion with Dr. Raja Dhar). We visited Dr. Raja Dhar on 05.11.2013 at Fortis hospital, Anandapur and he told that my father’s quality of life will be improved and for check up & treatment purpose I should admit him to the general ward from where he will be released soon. Next day as I went to see my father I found him coughing vigorously and the intensity of cough increased manifold than earlier. On enquiry, the nursing staff informed me that my father had undergone a Bronchoschopy test on the same morning before I reached the hospital. Never ever he explained to me regarding the risks and hazards associated with Bronchoscopy on an octogenarian. The attendant told me that bleeding is common and coughing will stop soon. In the evening at visiting hours, I found my father coughing out blood. I shouted for help. Dr. Dhar sent his assistant and eventually Dr. Dhar came but as profuse bleeding & coughing increasingly continued, he asked my father to be shifted to HDU(High Dependency Unit).Within ten to fifteen minutes he was shifted to ICCU for control of situation and Dr. Dhar assured me that by next morning the situation will be controlled and he will be brought back to general ward next morning. Before the first bronchoscopy, Dr. Dhar did not take any consent from me. In the ICCU he did few more bronchoscopies on my octogenarian father. Later an attendant asked me to sign some papers saying that I have to sign those for saving my patient. In the ICCU he got secondary infection (Pneumonia) and he was placed on ventilation. During the whole process Dr. Raja Dhar and ICCU in-charge Dr. Paliwal misinformed us repeatedly about the patient status. During the treatment procedure in the ICCU they damaged other vital organs of my father. Finally on 13.11.2013 my father’s aged body could no more bear those experiments and medical nuisances and he succumbed to death. My father’s UHID no. was 91227. At the ICCU he was in bed no. 457 and Fortis ID was FHL[protected].
On 16.11.2013, my representative(Mr. Biswajit Bhowmik, Proff. Goenka College, Kolkata ) went to Fortis hospital with my authorized letter to collect few pending reports and to file an official complaint against the hospital authority and concerned Doctors. Unfortunately they provided the reports but showed reluctance to accept the complaint letter even after repeated requests.
I accuse Dr. Raja Dhar and ICCU dept. of Fortis Hospital, Anandapur, Kolkata for gross medical negligence which resulted in my father’s untimely demise. I demand immediate enquiry and strict action against concerned Doctors namely Dr. Raja Dhar, Dr. Paliwal & ICCU dept.
                  My Direct Allegations
                  1. During the first communication with Dr. Raja Dhar he told my home physician that no invasive treatment will be done on my octogenarian father. But he did so without discussing the risks, hazards
and taking any consent from us. I strongly believe that as a result of this, bleeding occurred and eventually series of other events followed and eventual death of my father occurred.
                  2. Before placing on ventilation, the hospital authority did not take our consent or discussed anything.
                  3. ICCU management is a mess as a result of which secondary infections damaged his vital organs.
                  4. Doing more bronchoscopies in the ICCU that worsened the condition of my father.
                  5. Taking few signatures in ICCU without explaining what those are and saying those as customs.
                  6. Continuously providing misinformation regarding the status of the patient by Dr. Raja Dhar & Dr. Paliwal.
                  7. In the Death certificate they showed Sepsis, Pneumonia & failure of other vital organs as cause of death which clearly indicates gross medical negligence as all those are hospital acquired.
                  8. Refusal to accept complaint letter from my representative Mr. Biswajit Bhowmik.
I demand immediate actions taken report from the Hospital authority.
I also demand the following documents from Fortis Hospital, 730 Anandapur, EM Bypass Road, Kolkata - 700107
                  1. All bedside documents and records of Late kanai Lal Acharjee (UHID : 91227)from 05.11.2013 to 13.11.2013.
                  2. Doctors’ comment sheets within the ICCU
                  3. Video footage of entire period of my father’s stay in the ICCU.
                  4. Measure taken to prevent & control infection in the ICCU in Fortis Hospital, Anandapur.

FINALLY YESTER EVENING(11/12/13) FORTIS AUTHORITY REPLIED AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION THAT HAPPENED DURING MY FATHER, S TREATMENT AFTER REPEATED EMAILS/FAX/LETTER AND THEY INFORMED THERE WAS NO MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE.I AM NOT ADOCTOR SO I DECIDED TO SHOW THEIR LETTER TO SOME MEDICAL PERSON WHETHER THEIR EXPLANATION IS RIGHT UNTIL THEN I AM REQUESTING ALL TO NOT FORM ANY OPINION ABOUT THE DOCTORS AND THE HOSPITAL ON THE BASIS OF MY COMPLAINT-PARTHA PRATIM ACHARYA-12/12/13
I am deeply mourned after seeing this, his soul may rest in peace, I am giving my condolence to the family where it was happened.

This is very difficult to judge a person with a single instance. A ‘Doctor’ means a person who is licensed to prescribe medicine or proceed with surgery depending upon on knowledge as well as clinical eyes. This is the profession where ‘the scope of marginal errors’ doesn’t stands. That doesn’t mean that he is the ultimate, you may disagree with depends on your knowledge or help from others or help from internet. Why don’t people change the situation for his/her?

Without knowing the fact it’s very difficult to comment against anybody, the family accused Dr Dhar and Fortis Hospital regarding the ‘consent’ which is required for any surgical intervention, it may happened sometimes, if the situation went wrong at odd hour they (Hospital & Doctor) asked for it over phone and later it was signed by the party (Patient’s close relative), it was always happened on the basis of relation and good faith.

It is also very common for a patient to attacked by any secondary infection when his/her condition is really vulnerable I.e. after being treated with any immunosuppressive drugs and sometimes it was the only way out to come out from the situation, same thing happened to me when I was treated with inter venous steroid, I went through 4 (four) surgeries within the span of 7(Seven) days.
Dr Raja Dhar is a person in front of me is just like next to God. I am giving you five simple examples of my family who are with aged 84(Uncle/Jethu), 75(Father/Baba), 75(Uncle/Dadar Sosur mosai), 39(Brother/Bhai), and 39(Sister in law/Bhai er bou) respectively and they are being treated by him for the last 3.5 years and 3(three) of them were in patient.

I don’t want to elaborate the story. My father trekked Rudranath last year just after 7(seven) months he get out from ICU. May be this is a miracle or exceptional case but how I deny the fact where the chances of survival was almost nil as per my knowledge is concerned (from others guidance and internet findings).

Keep faith on Dr Raja Dhar, he is an exceptional person with enormous knowledge. It is very difficult but just treat is just as an accident and proceed with success story.

Last but not the least we proceed through with an event when absolute necessity arises and taught a lesson after an irreversible loss. There is no credit to put blame on others shoulders.
If anybody want I can give the hospital Unique ID along with the dates as supportive documents for my above mentioned patients.

My condolence to the Acharya family and all its member who has suffered / suffering a lot.

As Mr. Souvik mentioned it is very difficult to judge a person with a single instance and without knowing the fact it’s very difficult to comment against anybody. However, as far my knowledge goes Doctor Raja Dhar is really a soft hearted person and always there to help someone.

My father (Mr.D.K.Sarkar) was admitted to Fortis Hospital this year Feb'13 and was under treatment of Dr.Dhar till April'13 with severe pneumonia with klebsieala, a deadly infected baterial disease. Previously, he was admitted to an other hospital where the treatment was not successful and hence we have forced to take him to Fortis Hospital under treatment of Dr.Dhar. Bronchoscopy was also done to my father and as far as I know daily 4-5 Bronchoscopy's are being done by the same doctor but never such incident occurs during our stay in the hospital. My father is still under his treatment and doing well.

The behaviour of Doctor towards patient party (us) is good and always helps us during our emergency period.

                  Joydeep Sarkar
                  Mr. souvik
Grateful to for your expression of condolence. Also grateful as you found my complaint in the CONSUMER FORUM-------I did not know why you are trying to put salt on the wound inflicted on my family just after the first sentence of your comment…but it somehow comes to my mind that I can guess..
Your comment raises few questions which I would like to share
A)True, ‘a person can not be judged by a single incident’-but GOD forbid, if that ‘single’ incident happened to your dearest one I wonder what would be your reaction.
B)When you know that ‘this is the profession where the scope of marginal errors do not stand’, then don’t you think that while doing invasive procedure on an octogenarian the doctor should explain the risks/hazards associated to us.YOU MAY NOT BECAUSE YOURS ARE SUCCESS STORIES.
C)I do not believe in living within the stagnant water of an well and pursuit of knowledge is my profession too
D)You wrote-‘without knowing the fact it is difficult to comment against anybody’-rightly so.that is true about my case Mr.Seeing just the complaint and not looking at the supportive documents plz restrain yourself from commenting, it hurts a family that lost its dear one DUE TO MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE.wait TRUTH WILL PREVAIL.
E)For your kind information my father’s bronchoscopy was done on 6/11/13 when he had no emergency complication. Thus your baseless ‘GYAN’ ABUT CONSENT DOES NOT ARISE.
F)Regarding secondary infection control do you know how many people died /nearly dead and shifted from FORTIS, ANANDAPUR?
G)How did you know immunosuppressant therapy was on----I can guess—then ask yourself/your mentor why such a hazardous test done when there are chances of patient being vulnerable and he might have to be sent to ccu, that too without discussing with the patient party?
H)May be DrRAJA DHAR is ‘next to God’to you but it is not a GOD’s court but a consumer forum and GOD does not take exorbitant sum for curing people in street smart manner and assure the patient;s party that ‘qaulity of life will be improved and prognosis is very very good ‘and finally hand over the deadbody.
E)lastly, I wrote many points regarding non-cooperation ofFortis in handing over the BHT/papers /documents reated to my father’streatment but till date they have not supplied those violating the MCI rules.BUT YOU ARE TOTALLY SILENT ABOUT THOSE.YOU OR YOUR MENTOR, PARDON ME IF WRONG ARE REALLY ‘ doctors’(not apun if you ignore.)
Finally for your satisfaction I wish You and Your all family members stay well under Dr.Dhar.thanks
If I have all the power, I would like Dr. Raja Dhar to be banned from his profession for next 1 year so that he gets some time to retrospect mistakes he is making, ego he is holding. If I have all the power I would immediately remove him from Prime Minister Panel doctor. Unbelievable mental agony we faced for my mother because of this doctor and we are still facing for my mother. While I repeatedly asked Dr. Raja Dhar why he is not doing chest ct scan when my mother was admitted in Fortis, he kept ignoring my request. Rather Dr. Dhar kept giving nebulizer, oxygen etc (please see attached Bed head ticket). Ultimately almost after 10 days he did order chest ct scan and thereafter to my horror I was informed she has been attacked with a particular bacteria called Kliebsella causing pneumonia in both her lungs. She was transferred on ventilation and things started deteriorating. He stopped talking to us with his big ego when we asked for second opinion as we lost trust in him. Ultimately I requested Dr. Raja Dhar to be replaced as my mother's pulmonologist.
                  Abhijit (USA).
I have no other intention rather than share my good experience with Dr Raja Dhar publicly. There may be a deviation of thought process after an unexpected incident. There is absolutely no need to argue with this. I am extremely sorry if anybody felt disturbed after reading my feelings.

                  Souvik Banerjee
I would like to share my experience that I have had as a family member of a patient of Dr.Raja Dhar.
My 72 year old father who suffers from COPD has been a patient of Dr. Dhar for the last 3 years. My father has been keeping much better and has been able to have a better quality of life since he has been under Dr. Dhar’s treatment. Dr.Dhar has always been accessible, patiently listening to my father’s health concerns and addressing them. He has always taken time to explain to me the course of treatment and the possible side effects if any, and the precautions that we need to take. Dr. Dhar has always been a wonderful doctor – informative, patient, warm, and endless source of optimism.

This year during the Puja holidays when my father was faced with a medical emergency, Dr. Dhar was immediately available to attend to my father. Whenever there has been a cause for concern about my father’s health, I have been able to get in touch with him. We have found Dr. Dhar to be an excellent physician who also devotes time to communicate well with patients and their family members. In the last three years we have had a good experience with him and we will definitely continue to keep my father under his care.

                  Regards

                  Subhra
                  Dear All
This is how we would like to express our gratitude to Dr Raja Dhar, his Team & Fortis Hospitals

“Thank you to a Wonderful Doctor and his Team”
“We were truly fortunate that you were mom’s doctor. You gave her excellent and compassionate care and treated her with dignity and addressed each of hers or our concerns… My Doctor is truly that - a practice dedicated to the best and most individual care you can give. You make your patients feel valuable and that their needs are important. Your entire office is dedicated to help in each patient feel important.”
                  Thank you doctor!
More than a good doctor, we value the fact that you were a good listener. More than being just professionals, we value the fact that your staff’s caring attitude was exceptional.
                  Thank you doctor!
Before saying that you are an extraordinary doctor, we want to tell you that you are an extraordinary human being showing us so much care and concern.
                  Thank you doctor!
If every doctor strives to be as caring and generous as you, the world would be filled with smiles and laughter instead of pain and sorrow.
                  Thank you doctor!
You have been much more to us than just a doctor. You have been our therapist, supporter, friend, well wisher and angel in disguise.
                  Thank you doctor!
Other doctors simply treat their patients with medicines but forget to do the most important thing which you do – help them to move on with their lives with motivating words and inspirational thoughts.
                  Thank you doctor!
A patient’s testimonial is less of a recognition of a doctor’s professional expertise and more of a recommendation of a doctor’s ability to listen, care and heal. We can vouch for the fact that your abilities are unmatched.
                  Thank you doctor!
Actual recovery may be in the hands of God but making a patient believe in recovery lies only in the hands of awesome doctors like you.
                  Thank you doctor!
Other then our parents, there is no other person on this earth who has had a greater impact on our lives At a time when we most desperately needed it, you restored our faith.. Your quiet confidence & compassion has changed all of our lives. Words alone will never capture our sincerest gratitude.
                  Thank you doctor!
Many of your patients recommend you as a good doctor. But we always recommend you as a great human being and a fine gentleman.
                  Thank you doctor!
We are grateful to you for all you have done for us... Kindness, generosity, patience, professionalism, talent, expertise, and compassion... and your smile.

Dr raja dhar is very very poor doctor, he dont have sufficient knowledge how to treat with the patient, how to diagonises the diseases. My father monoranjan debnath was admitted in fortis hospital from 04.10.2015 to 10.10.2015. So many test they have done like xray, ct scan blood test, biopsy etc but it very unfortunate to say that they could not find the diseases. They told me it may be cancer, it may be tb. Adfter doing so may medical degree they told this kind of version. And after doing nothing degree in medical science i was sure that the diseases may be cancer or tb. Then what is the difference between the dr raja dhar and his associates and me. Dr raja dhar did not treat my father, he send his associates to my father to see him. Always he did this. But in the discharge summary he mentioned his name.
After two month eating the medicines prescribed by the dr raja dhar i shifted my father to chennai apollo, after doing one test they diagonosis that my father suffering with cancer. Now present situation is very critical. God knows whether my father will alive or not. This situation arises due wrong treatment of raja dhar.
My earnest request to all the patient parties that dont go to raja dhar and his associates with your patient. They will kill your relatives/family members/dear ones just like me.

Dr Amitabha Chanda is also callous physician in fortis kolkata anandapur. He is not bothered about his patients sent to icu/hdu after surgery performed by him.icu /hdu are meant for increasing bill of patients but lack of trained nurses or other staffs.so they can kill any patient likely to be discharged within a day.
If possible, take ur near and dear ones to south India. Business of such money suckling monsters must be banned in kolkata.they take advantage of helpless people.
Dr Raja Dhar and Fortis Hospital are all commercial and money monger. They do drama, sweet talk, artificial feelings about you and at the end extract money from patients.

Do not trust them. You or your relatives will be victim.

                  So be careful.

Remember that doctors are not God. They are ordinary human being like all o[censored]s. They may have little extra knowledge in specialized area but ultimately they have limitation. So do not surrender yourself on them and try to think or judge yourself and whatever your mind is saying truly, take decision accordingly. For instance, if they say that you need to undergo surgery, do not believe them blindly. There are many other factors which you need to take under consideration, but doctors may not, because most of them do things in commercial way.

                  Your well wisher.

COMPLAINTS AGAINST FORTIS HOSPITALS, DR RAJA DHAR, ICCU DEPARTMENT AND AUTHORITY FOR KILLING MY FATHER KANAI LAL ACHARJEE BY MAL TREATMENT.

I, Partha Pratim Acharya of Krishnanagar, Nazir Pukur Par, Near Nine Bullets’ Club, Agartala, Tipura(West) went to Fortis Hospital, Anandapur for chest problem diagnostic purpose of my father Shri Kanailal Acharjee by air.Our return ticket to Agartala was on 08.11.2013. We visited Dr. Raja Dhar on 05.11.2013 and he told that my father’s quality of life will be improved and for check up purpose I should admit him to the general ward from where he will be released soon. He prescribed some tests like HRCT Chest etc. and wrote a note stating Bronchoscopy of lungs probably on next day. Never ever he explained to us regarding the risks and hazards associated with Bronchoscopy.Next day morning at the visiting hour I found my father on the general ward bed coughing continuously with stains of blood in his hospital bed. When queried the attendant told me that bleeding is common and coughing will stop soon.In the evening at visiting hours, I found my father coughing out blood.Ishouted for help. Dr. Dhar sent his assistant and eventually he came and asked my father to be shifted to HDU(High Dependency Unit). Within ten to fifteen minutes he was shifted to ICCU(Intensive Cardiac Care Unit). Before the first bronchoscopy Dr. Dhar did not take any consent from me.In the ICCU he did few more bronchoscopies on my octogenarian father.Later an attendant asked me to sign some papers saying that I have to sign those for saving my patient. In the ICCU he got secondary infection(Pneumonia) and he was placed on ventilation. During the whole process Dr. Raja Dhar and ICCU in-charge Dr. Paliwal misinformed us repeatedly about the patient status. During the treatment procedure in the ICCU they damaged other vital organs of my father. Finally on 13.11.2013 my fathjer’s aged body could no more bear those experiments and medical nuisances and he succumbed to death. My father’s UHID no. was 91227. At the ICCU he was in bed no. 457 and fortis ID was FHL[protected].
I accuse Dr. Raja Dhar and ICCU dept. of Fortis Hospital, Anandapur, Kolkata for killing my father. I demand enquiry and strict action against those killer Doctors and responsible Fortis Hospital authority.

Hi I am sumit chowdhury and the patient is my wife Mrs. Satarupa Ghose UHID no:WHBG.[protected], And my complaint is that on 03.10.2013 - came to Fortis bannerghatta for showing my wife to Dr. Shalini Joshi. She checked and told that there is a confusion it could be chicken pox and gave medication and then to be more confirmed she gave two tests, CBC and IgM and IgA varicelle test. She informed that the resulta for IgM test will come within 2-3 days. Accordingly I paid and the varicelle tests costed me more than rs. 4000. After my wife gave the sample and came the lab guys informed that this test results will come on 10th october. What the hell? By then the patient will be half cured and so what is the use of that test result. So plain and simple - want my money to be refunded immediately. Because like this you can't make fool of patients and where Did you hear that for diagnosing chiken pox you nedd so many tests. I want an immediate action otherwise if you want I can be there in person also. Thanks Sumit Chowdhury

I had visited CDoc Firtis Hospital for an appointment with an endocrinologist, however agree waiting for over 20 mins at their front deft, the 2 men on registrations were busy chit chatting between themselves, sharing mobile jokes. After me trying to probe them to expedite the registration process, they rudely brush me off stark v please ma'am go & sit, we are busy. Even then I tried to ask them to take up their talking after they finish my registration. They behave as if they are treating patients for free. The moment I raise my voice demanding to meet their supervisor they claimed they are unsupervised and that I would have to wait.
I left after making a formal complaint with the supervisor- I found this hospital to be very unprofessional and banned by very rude staff.

This behaviour is not even warranted for free patients.

I had been suffering from acute back pain since past 2 years. I consulted the doctors at Fortis hospital who after proper examination suggested spine surgery. Four weeks post-surgery, I am completely fit and fine. It feels good to live a pain free life. I believe, Fortis is the best hospital for spine surgery in India.

I got my complete health check done under the "Full Body Package (Men)" at Fortis Hospital (Vasant Kunj, Delhi) on 14 Mar 2013 I had full faith and trust in whatever the reports stated, till a accidentally noticed my blood group wrongly mentioned as B+ whereas I am aware that its B- (Driving License copy attached confirming my blood group). This has shattered my trust in the entire report costing a fortune of money besides the basis of human life. My mail ID is atul.[protected]@gmail.com

I had spondalitis and was operated in Fortis Hospital in the year 2010. I used to park my car in the hospital premises ( provided space for parking).
Lately, whenever I visit either for follow up or for a check up, now they are charging Rs.20/- to Rs.40/-, even when I am admitted or for a regular check up.
Yesterday 11th May 2013, I had taking my wife ( Mrs Rupa Pillai) to consult Dr Gokhale, we had a appointment at 10 am. Doctor visited the Hospital at 10.45 am, so the Parking charges applicable to me was Rs. 20/- ( as they (security guard) claimed you have crossed 30 mins slab). So my complaint is :
                                1. Hospitals should not charge parking charges, at least with patients, as such their fees are Rs.750/- for the first time and Rs.500/- for follow up.
                                2. If Doctors cannot visit on time, why should we bear the extra charges.

                                  Hi,

I had gone there for treatment of retinopathy for my diabetic father-in-law. Patient id - 546303. The retina specialist Dr. Neeraj Sanduja referred us to Dr. Atul Luthra for control of diabetes at first. I had already told them that my father in law is here for a short period and I want the eyes to be treated. They assured me that everything will be fine. While Dr Luthra bought the diabetes under control, we went back to Dr. Neeraj Sanduja for further treatment of eyes. He again asked me for two tests which costed 8000 Rs. Just after the testing he told us, that this cannot be treated now, the diabetes needs to be controlled for continuously for next 3 months and then only laser can be done. I was just shocked.

If this was the case that a diabetic patient cannot be treated without a 3 months control of sugar, why did they even do the test ? It was very apparent from the first blood tests that the patient is under very poor diabetic control for the past 3 months (hba1c test resulted 10.7), then any ordinary man can say that laser treatment cannot be done now. They just did the test to take 8000 Rs. and then took their hands off.

But I admire the thought and presence of mind these doctors show to take money off common people. With this kind of brains you can make money anywhere, why dishonor a noble (not so noble any more except a few) profession. Nobody objects to your 5 min - 750 to 1200 Rs visit, why cheat people then ?

Fortis Bannerghata Bangalore does not provide the kind of Service which we feel that a customer requires. This is regarding my Wife's pregnancy which we decided to show in fortis thanks to excellent Doctors. We decided to take up the best possible medical package that a middle class guy can afford by signing up the package, the irony is that the support staff in the gynaecology Department didnt even treat patients properly . The appointment timings was never followed and the patients had to really run and request them every 20 minutes . Later when we decided to find out the reason behind this , the appointments schedule was never there . They enrolled patients who came in as walk in and based on the luck of the patient the name was called up .

Is there a system of customer service in place for our hospitals or are we supposed to beg around for getting the basic facilities ....Vijith [protected]

Can you let me know the Gynec doctor you wanted to visit in Fortis.
Dr.Geetha Belliappa is a very good Gynec but is always busy.

My wife too consulting the same doctor...

Non cooperative behaviour of people in billing counters

People working in the billing desk are not cooperative. They are rude at talking to customers. Doesn't respond properly to the queries related to the charges of various tests.

we gone through such a bad experience of FORTIS HOSPITAL. because of careless treatment by there Doctors.
my dad had an accident on 15 of Jan 2013. we admitted him in Fortis Hospital Mulund West Mumbai. My dad is Policeman in Mumbai police. he had Internal injuries. which Doctors dint take care properly. my dad spent * days there but still he could not fill better. I personally wanted to meet Doctors, they dint came and nothing told us about treatment and reports, even nurses dint aware about Dr. treatment. name of the Doctor is Mr. R. Shinoy. he was handling treatment of my dad. but no improvement in his health. and the hight of careless is came to know us when on th 18 of jan nurse came with discharge reports and told us you cane take him to home without any prior intimation. they dint examine my dad before making discharge report.Dr. also disnt come to ask hi that he feels better and ready to go home or not. I was very disappointed. after 2 days i took discharge from there and directly shift my dad to LILAVATI HOSPITAL Bandra. this is such nice hospital nad Doctors are also well. when we admitted in Lilavati there Dr. said after test him that his Sodium level in body is too low according to normal level and this thisng will leads to fits, gang-ring etc. so Doctors told us that he need to shift in ICU for this treatment. now after 5 days my dad feels better and came to home.

please take my complaint and take proper action on Doctors negligence from Fortis Hospital.

Last night i took my son (Age 10 years) to Fortis hospital gurgaon for a very minor leg pain below the knee. We were forced to go to the emergency room and were told there will be room charges of 1500 rs. The doctors did an x ray and then a hard plaster and multiple tests. I was pretty sure most of these (except the x ray) were not required and the hard cast not at all needed. The entire not needed drama by junior non specialist doctors cost us an exorbitant 7600 Rs and were advised to come back for a follow up check next day to meet the senior doctor. The on duty doctor said "we need to check if the bone has been set right." How is that possible????!! It is not a bone or joint fracture!! Sure enough, when we called next day, we were told that to meet the doctor would be a consultation fee of 1200 Rs !!! We were now convinced this is all a money making scheme. So i called a known doctor friend and took a reference of another orthopaedic doctor in the neighbourhood. 2 Specialist orthoepadic doctors looked at my sons leg today and said there was no need for a hard plaster and took it off!!! We have been regulars at the fortis hospital in Vasant Kunj and have never been cheated like this. I am sending a copy of this complaint to the consumer redressal forum; because innocent citizens who do not have a medical background should not be cheated by hospitals and their staff to make money.
                                        Hi,

Please let me know how to log a complain with consumer redressal forum. And I ll be glad to join. I had similar cheating experience in Fortis:

Thanks for taking time to write about your being
