I am working in a MNC and covered under corporate mediclaim scheme.
I was having problem of continuous cold n sneezing due to sinus blockage.

I was very well aware about the problem and treatment since two of my colleagues was having same problem and they have undergone the minor surgery this year in Max Hospital.

Considering the brand and Goodwill of Fortis, i choosed Fortis for my treatment.
After consultation with Concerned ENT doctor at Fortis Shalimar Bagh, they gave me estimation of Rs 30, 000 and said its a normal surgery,

Treatment offered by Doctor to me was same as given to two of my colleagues this year in other hospital, although estimated cost of Rs 30, 000 was on little b.it higher side, but considering the brand of Fortis, i thought its ok, i will go ahead.

We set this for pre mediclaim approval and Rs 28, 000 was approved

Next week, surgery was done by doctor as prescribed. But at the time of discharge we were surprised when hospital gave us final bill of Rs 53, 000 that even without breakup.

When we asked them for detail, they said its a package, details can not be provided to you.

Doctor clearly denied to intervene in this matter, he said that billing is done by finance team of Hospital, i have given my services, now i have nothing to do with money matter. Kindly discuss with Hospital.

When these bills of Rs 53, 000 was sent for final mediclaim approval, Insurance company approved only Rs 40, 000. i.e. Rs 13, 000 was disallowed and that has to be beared by me.

When we again contacted doctor about over charging by hospital and whether some different treatment was offered to me during surgery becaue of that hospital is extra amount, doctor said that no extra treatment was given, it was same as prescribed at the time of initial approval.

Now hospital is neither providing breakup of package charges nor they are giving justification for over charging.

This incident has deeply hurted to me and my family. We have to face significant financial loss.
I have all the documents/proofs for detail understanding of matter, you can contact me on [protected] or vivek.[protected]@acclimited.com

This is with reference to the treatment given to my mother Smt. Suman Gupta at Fortis Hospital, Noida. I am writing this letter with immense sorrow and grief as my mother expired due to improper treatment carried out at Fortis Hospital, Noida. I would request you to set up an enquiry regarding treatment given to my mother as she died due to late diagnosis of sepsis. This is an unacceptable negligence on the part of doctors. My mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the month of July 2015. Stenting was done to relieve obstruction. There was partial duodenum obstruction as seen by doctor but he didn’t put a stent into this. Then, she was put on First Line of treatment of Chemotherapy with Gemcitabine and Abraxane to which she tolerated well. Because she was healthy physically and mentally, she was doing well through this. After completion of two cycles, her PET scan test showed improvement in liver metastasis lesions which were barely discernible. There was a slight increase in lesion of pancreatic cancer. But she was in a healthy state. Oncology doctors, Dr Devavrat Arya and Dr Vikas Goswami reviewed the report and changed to second line of treatment of chemotherapy with high dose of Capacitabine and Oxiplatin. As soon as the chemo drug regime was infused to my mother, she complained of vomiting and nausea to her which doctors told is a side-effect of the drugs. After a discharge, she arrived home. Since evening, symptoms of vomiting and nausea started increasing which was reported to Dr Namrata Varma who told to discontinue capacitabine. But the side-effects were so prominent that she was admitted on 28th September 2015 in Emergency at Fortis Hospital, Noida again. Oncologists said that this is due to side effect of drug and previous stent has failed. Again a stent was put by Dr Ajay Bhalla into Bile Duct and Duodenum which should have been done earlier itself. PTBD was done by Dr Deepak Hans to relieve symptoms as previous stenting failed. There was no co-ordination between Oncology -team doctors and Gastro-entrologist Team. Unfortunately, I have to run between them to coordinate though it was, obviously, not my job. But since it was the matter of my mother I did everything I could do. My mother developed severe bacterial infection due to Rice tube, pigtail drain tube, central line, arterial line and chemoport insertion. This was not taken into account from starting but when infection became worsened, tests were conducted and high septicaemia was found against which high dose of antibiotics were given which was too late, later because of late treatment fungal infections got developed. They had a plan to remove all lines but it was a late decision. This was quite frustrating because infections could have been prevented if doctors have started treatment properly. When I used to consult Oncology-team doctors they used to tell me that they are dependent on Gastro-Entrologists team and vice-versa which delayed treatment. This was quite embarrassing. It was surprising that being reputed doctors at a reputed hospital, they did this. Doctors planned to shift my mother to ICU for better treatment. But caring at ICU was not good. Many times I observed sisters did not kept an eye on vitals on monitor. Infact, they did not kept an eye on other patients. Attendants of whom used to discuss similar issues with me. My mother told me that in night, no sister was there when my mother asked water to drink. Condition of ICU is not good. Water flasks were untidy and have foul smell which my mother told me which I found to be correct and showed to ICU doctors who told me to replace with bisleri bottle for her. Next day, again untidy flask was there. I told this to doctors and sisters but there was no change. When my mother was put on ventilator, I frequently observed that whenever there was urine discharge out of diaper it was not attended by sisters unless I observed and communicated same. To my dismay, Dr Devavrat Arya and Dr Vikas Goswami took leaves in between without letting us know during the undergoing treatment. As a result of which proper review of medicines and health of my mother was compromised. This was when I was in regular touch with doctors, and they never care to tell when would take leaves. Blood bank in Fortis Hospital, Noida is the worst ever department I have ever seen. They only release blood to patient only when you replace blood. In case replacement is not available they refused blood transfusion to my mother who was critically ill in ICU. God knows how I pleaded to others to donate blood in emergency case. Blood plasma was not available in Fortis Hospital Noida. Instead of arranging by themselves they asked me to go to Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh to collect blood plasma. At that time, she was on ventilator. It took me 7 hours to reach back. Every moment for bringing plasma to my mother was crucial. Alternatively they could have arranged blood plasma from themselves or could have asked me to purchase from nearest blood bank. Overall, my mother did not die due to cancer but because of negligence by doctors, irresponsibility by doctors and non caring attitude by sisters at Fortis Hospital at Noida. Had the sepsis symptoms been detected timely and properly by doctors, my mother would have not died. This is a life-time repent felt for my dear mother. I feel utmost frustrated and angry over the negligence of doctors, one of whom accepted his mistake to me. My plan to shift my mother to another hospital was put in vain as her condition worsened because of late diagnosis and treatment of sepsis. Dr Ajay Bhalla, Dr Deepak Hans, Dr Devavrat Arya and Dr Vikas Goswami are the culprits who are responsible for my mother’s untimely death. I will never forgive them.

My Mother died of cardiac arrest because of severe sepsis(infection) which happened due to negligence of oncologists
Dr Devavrat Arya, Dr Vikas Goswami, Dr Deepak Hans & Dr Ajay Bhalla. These doctors are killers. They have made Rs 18.50 Lakhs Rupees for a month long treatment only to kill my dear mother. I am in immense grief and I cry every moment. I give a curse to these doctors that same thing will happen with their dearest family member. I will never forgive as my mother wanted to live but these doctors paid no attention until at the last moment.

Admitted my nephew one evening for high fever, no one available for checking / treatment till next day afternoon. Available staff not even capable to take the blood.
We only take care of the patient till next day.
Next day also even Doctor was not able to take the blood sample & for this as an trial & error they put the needle at both hands & legs almost at 15-16 places to get the blood.
For preventive measure they hold the patient in the Hospital for one week after checking the Urine report that shows minor infection & so we agreed to stay.
After completion of week they again take the Urine sample to ensure complete cure & the same evening, Doctor inform that infection is still there so we have to wait further two days in the hospital. But we came to know from the Lab that the sample not yet tested then how Doctor conclude that infection is still there?...
Then when we noticed them about the same, they try to give excuses.
It clearly shows that they loot the patients like this who don't have any knowledge.
Also it is clear that they not even care what is going on with the patient & their relatives.
And last but no least as an Cashless mediclaim they sure about that whatever be the Hospital bill the charge, they will get it.

My relative was supposed to undergo a surgery at the Fortis Cunningham road hospital and she had planned her time off from work. When suddenly the day prior when she called the hospital, she was told that there are no beds. Since a week we have been following up to find if a bed is available and apparently the hospital is booked out of "ALL" beds because of cardiac emergencies. Firstly, we have to call everyday to find out if the bed is available. Secondly, we do not know when the bed*may* be available and third, the rude people from insurance department(Ms Vishalakshi and Ms Divya) say that we can either wait or go to another hospital!(really, we don't know we can do that?) To the hospital Admin - We are not getting admitted and treated for free. Have a better communication in place, every patient needs care(be it a major or minor surgery). And please train your people on how to talk(if not for teaching about humanity)

        Dear Shruthi krishnamurthy,
We regret the inconvenience caused. As an organization we are committed in providing the best medical care and always put our patients first. From past few days we are having a high occupancy due to an increase in emergency cases. We do understand your concern but as a responsible hospital it is our duty to prioritize emergency cases over an elective. However, keeping in mind your situation we had suggested looking for other options so that we don’t keep you waiting further. Our team will shortly get in touch and update on the bed availability. Kindly share your contact details. Warm Regards,
        Fortis Healthcare.

Hi, I was told about the scheme of advance booking and told that if you have insurance, plz claim it separately... But never told that this hospital is not covered under GIPSA ...so trusting the fortis people that they must be giving correct and complete information i enrolled for the scheme...on 30 sep 2015
Later on got to know that there is a huge difference in the package with GIPSA, package is coming out to be 60K for single room in Max Hospital, however in fortis la femme they gave estimate of 1.7 lac for single room.
When I told this issue, the client relationship person said we are not covered under GIPSA and were not able to justify why this information was not shared earlier.
I cancelled my booking on 10 October 2015 (today) and they deducted 30% from my booking amount.
Why I have to pay for their mistakes and also have to take the pain of changing doctor and hospital at the last trimester of my pregnancy.

Having researched the "Liberation Treatment" and excited about it, I was recommended a cardiologist by the name of Dr. Pradeep Muley M.D., Head & Senior Consultant Interventional Radiologist Fortis Hospital, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi; this information was given to me by a Dr. Rehman Sayeed from Fortis hospital in Bangalore. I contacted Dr. Muley prior to travelling to India and asked him about what I needed to bring in order for him to carry out the procedure. Dr Muley was very reassuring and told to bring all the records that I had regarding my RRMS condition. On consultation with my neurologist in the UK, he was less than enthusiastic about the whole procedure telling me that it was total rubbish and I should think sensibly and forget about the whole thing and refused to give me any medical records. Regardless of my neurologists advice, I set off to India. On arrival at New Delhi Airport there was nobody to greet or take me to Fortis Hospital as Dr Muley promised there would be. I specifically wanted the procedure to take place in New Delhi as I have friends & relatives who reside there and so if there were any difficulties, I could call upon them; as there was nobody to greet us and transport s to the hospital, this is exactly what my father and I had to do at 3:45 am. The following day we made our way to Fortis Hospital, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi and met with Dr Muley. The consultation was very welcoming and friendly, on production of only a 6 year old hospital discharge sheet, Dr. Muley said that it wasn't a problem and tht they would spend 2 days carrying out various tests prior to the angioplasty procedure. Two days of getting poked, prodded, injected and given various blood thinning tblets led me to to the operation theatre. I was given a local anaesthetic and told that I would be awake throughought the procedure and be given instructions to old my breath at certain intervals. The procedure was quite a strange feeling and I can now say that I am so gld that I was awake throughout. Towards the end of the procedure, Dr Muley told me that my left Jugular vein was 100% blocked whereas the right and central azygous vein were clear and that they couldn't perform balloon surgery as it would cause too many complications. Confused heartbroken and emotionally distraught, Dr Muley quietly informed my father that he was very sorry there was nothing more that he could do for me and to settle any outstanding bills with the finance office. My father went to the finance office telling them that he had infact over paid the hospital and was due for a 10, 000 rupee refund...this fell on deaf ears and e was told that he wasn' due a refund due to the fact that the exchange rate had changed in the 3 days that we had been there and that there was nothing that they could do. Having come back to the UK, procedure-less...I feel cheated and lied to and would like to, I am now thinking tht after having all tests done including a Doppler, amongst many others, why Dr Muley still proceded to carry out the angioplasty procedure. Had he not seen the results of the veinography, or had he chose to ignore the results of the Doppler. Frustrated I want to share this experience with the rest of you and pray that nobody else goes through the same experience as I endured.

My mother in law was admitted to Fortis Mulund because her stomach was hurting. The doctors diagnosed it as gas and the pain refused to go for 2 days. She was IN the hospital. One would imagine that if a gas problem has not been resolved in 2 days, the doctors start evaluating for other symptoms. She had a massive heart attack on Day 3 as a result of which she passed away. In the hospital. Saurabh Shah was the doctor. I hope he gets sacked - I hope someone in his own family doesn't have to go through the same before he realizes what medical malpractice is.
FORTIS MULUND WORST HOSPITAL, looters and cheaters, they will loot you and cheat you, your beloved one will struggle badly who is undergoing treatment in this looters hospital,

classic service and premium service is completely different, if you opted for classic service, it means you are of slave class or cattle class with no value for life and pain, my father badly struggle in classic service, Dr, Pankaj maheshwari is looter doctor, never ever go to this urologist, he will try all tricks to increase your surgery package, and they are not doctors, they are like traders, who have set target to earn from each patient, pathetic, CLASSIC service in fortis mulund is worst i request everyone not to opt for this b grade hospital, they will charge you bomb and quality of service is pathetic, my father undergone lot of pain, i never want to see the face of that doctor and that hospital again in my life,

Hi, I came with my friend, who was feeling sick and she went to the Emergency Room as it was the only ward open at 9:00 pm. I went to fetch a bottle of water for her. Then I went to the emergency room to find her. Unfortunately she wasn't carrying a mobile home phone with her. I asked the lady sitting on the reception Mentioning her name and describing her appearance. She wasn't concerned a single bit and said there is no such person admitted in the emergency room. I searched the entire hospital twice and even went to the security room to get the security footage checked, but still couldn't find her. Then I again went to the Emergency room and asked the same lady sitting on the reception. She couldn't care less about my friend. After an hour somehow the attending physician informed her that she is admitted in the Emergency room. This is heights of negligence on the part of the Hospital. People come here to get well and feel at ease and not to face these issues and suffer. Seriously Fortis Management, do look into this and make sure this doesn't happen with anyone else. Date of incident:[protected] Time of incident: 9:00 pm

Dear sir/mam, I Ritesh kumar s/o smt.mahender Kumari having registration number - 590455, of fortis escorts heart Institute, okhla, Delhi wants to Lodge a negligence complaint against para medical staff and doctors. My patient had under gone CABG from this Institute on 21st of may 2015. Recovery was normal and even after suture removal day patient was in normal condition. But after 3 days patient underwent stroke. MRI was done on the same day and we were told about the slight damage in left part of the brain. We immediately brought the patient here the very next day in conscious condition. They told us about the clot in brain and assured us that they would investigate from where the clot came and they would focus on its not further increasing but after 5 hours patient suffered a second stroke in ICU. In between no neurosurgeon / neurologist was called by the critical care team. After pressurizing the team doctor came after one hour. We were asked for brain surgery immediately otherwise effected area of the brain will increase. Dr. Parteek Mittal suggested us Dr. Tariq for surgery and surgery was done on 11.6.15. Till date patient is unconscious and the Para medical team is saying that it is very difficult for the patient to recover from this stage. Now the treating doctor (Dr. Tariq) has informed us that the clot went from heart's arteries. But the cardiac team is denying this fact. This is a total negligency of the cardiac team who underwent CABG. The complaint was Lodged in patient welfare of this Institute and a meeting was arranged with the treating doctors, but no satisfactory reply has been given to us. We humbly request you to take immediate action against this negligence. Hoping for immediate reply.

I was facing severe tooth decay and after examination Doctor suggested that I should go for tooth cleaning and night guard worth 11K. I was not sure about night guard but she continuously suggested like a salesman to opt for night guard. After 1 month my decay is become more severe and night guard was of no use. Now another doctor told me that I have xerostomia ( low saliva production) which is decaying my teeths and GERD (acid reflux in night)and night guard is of no use as it protects against grinding damage. The acid reflux is entering in night guard and decaying my teeth. When the doctor was counseling me she was also forcing another patient to go for night guard as she said " Kanpur me pata nhi theek se bana payein ya nahi aap yahin ban wa lo" and I think kanpur is not so small city that dentist of good calibre is not present. I request to take some necessary action.

I got my parent's health checkup done, and chose different packages. Along with the packages we included 2 different tests, and asked for a separate bill. I was very clear about separate bill as I had to get it reimbursed. But they made a combined bill, and this is really very unfair. Now they are not agreeing to have me separate bill. I feel cheated with my money that i deserve to claim from my insurance, , but due to the ignorance of the receptionist i cannot claim it now.

Hello Sir, I would like to gain your attention on the issue from which my family is suffering now. My mother is a government servant, she works for Indian Railways (NCR). Past few months her health went down and we took her to the Fortis hospital (Noida) for treatment where we had consult Dr. Sircar for her treatment. He suggested her to continue the medicine for nine months but he didn't tell us about side effect of the medicine he has prescribed her. Now due to that medicine my mother has completely lost her eyes vision (both eye sights) and even she can't see anything. We took her to several eye hospitals for the treatment but got only one response that we can't do anything. At last! We consulted Sankara Nataralaya (Chennai) for further treatment even there when we spoke to doctor's they said it just because of that Medicine (Combutol) which was prescribed by Dr Mrinal Sircar and now they will try to get her vision back but there is very-very less chances. Also when we went to Fortis to discuss this issue Dr Mrinal Sircar refused to take any responsibility of it. He refused to talk with us said that "every medicine have some side effects so what’s the big deal in it?" We cannot tell every patient about it! As we have spent some much money till now and still we are spending our money like water. My question is who will be responsible for all this? Beside this my mother is the only earning member of family and its effecting her job because she cannot see anything now. If she lost her job due to this problem who will take care of family? I want Fortis hospital to take responsibility of whole situation also would like to have compensation for the same. Because we wasted our money like anything! And if Fortis will not take any responsibility then strict action will be taken from us against them. Therefore I would request you to look into this issue and guide us appropriately so we can get out of this critical situation. Thanking you. Regards, Rupesh Dass

I have only few words . Billing department which is next to reception in fortis hospital 1 st main Sheshadripuram One lady acts as if she owns the hospital and she has ego and is arrogant. She does not provide details to customer regarding bill and says pay or do wat ever u want. She should be in a zoo because she behaves like animal. I am very dissapointed with the hospital due to billing department. Will never visit this hospital and will never recommend to any friends or relatives. I would continue to complain in every blog and sites telling abt this. I hope and pray everyday that this branches closes its operations.

I always wonder if hospital bill are real. They put all medicines, test, etc and wen u see the bill it comes close to 100 items that they have used on the patients. Using so many items in 2 days sounds like magic to me. Will the patient survive or are they making fake report to get extra money. I had horrible time in fortis sheshadripuram branch. And billing office are illiterates they don't know how to talk to customers and lack common sense. They won't give you bill and just tel we don't have bill we only get total figures so pay and discharge patients.worst people I have met. Please please avoid this hospital. Espically sheshdripuram branch

Worst hospital I have ever come across and it will be worst years to come. They make small minor headache case to major case like heart or brain and tel its major need to test and keep u till 6-10 days and loot money at the end. If you have insurance then they will clear every single rupee. And they have the horrible billing department who says I can't give you bill just pay and discharge the patient. They have no idea of billing and shout at patients attendee. And they loot in the name of non medical. So better go to other hospital avoid fortis shesadripuram branch. Billing department are the worst

On 4rt April 2015 I was visited for endoscopy at Ludhiana fortis. They had charged me wrongly Rs.1250/- extra and next day they called up me to take your refund. But I am following with the concern person from last 60 days but till date he given me daily new excuses and ignored. His cell no. is [protected]. I have never ever expect this type of bad experience from Fortis brand. Hope you will solve the matter and take action on the concern. Thanks, Gagandeep [protected]

1)My son Shamant Shetty has been made to remain on fasting and then at 10:30 on 11th May they failed to do USG just because the radiologist has been on leave for his sister's wedding.Without making any substitute arrangement next day he was sent for an outside scan center where he had to wait for 2 hours. How would you compensate for the delay anxiety and unnecessary extension of staying in hospital? 2)Because of the brand Fortis we preferred this hospital. We are shocked to see the standard maintained. At pharmacy we have to wait for hours because of lack of sufficient staff.Half of the medicine prescribed will be out of stock even in special ddelux room no TV is provided. Restroom is not being cleaned regularly. Bed sheets are not changed. 3)Even when the patient and the attendent have to go out on emergency rooms key is not being given. On the top of it from security to floor manager argues that key cannot be given. What's the fun in having a special deluxe room without even basic convenience. 4)In hospital cafeteria outside food is allowed to be eaten which maybe harmful for the patients 5) No experienced resident doctors in the wards.Even in nights B.A.M.S doctor without any experience is available Only nursing service is good and sisters are really caring. In all other aspects Fortis Hubli is A BIG LETDOWN. The Fortis at Hubli is surely going to tarnish the image and name of Fortis.
