I have a start up based on online education. It has been there for around years. I have been using Go Daddy from the start. I have paid always on time and have over 20+ websites.

Since Saturday 25th Aug morning I was unable to access my cpanel and also noted that all my websites are down ... my customers started complaining ... i made numerous calls on 25th, 26th and 27th Aug, 2018

I was told it is a "known issue" and technical team is working on it. On 26th Aug I asked for some senior person to talk to and from executive level i moved to supervisor level.

I was told by supervisor that they are moving data of 1 server to another. And all websites of that server are having the problem and team is working on it.

I asked for an email id where I can write and tel number of higher ups. I was told same are not available. I insisted so I was told the matter is being sent to escalation team they will revert to me between 24 to 72 hours.

I sent few email on 26th evening and 27th morning. In the evening of 27th Aug, 2018 I get a call from escalation team and I was informed all my data was lost while Go Daddy was migrating from one server tot he another. And as per terms and policy signed by me it was my responsibility to have kept backup.

I asked for a mil in this regard and it came. It was as under.

As mentioned during our call, our hosting teams have determined the disaster recovery backup we have available is incomplete and we would not be able to restore the contents of your web hosting account. As per GoDaddy's Terms of service which can be viewed here:https://in.godaddy.com/agreements/showdoc.aspx?pageid=HOSTING_SA, maintaining backups of website/server content is a customer's responsibility.

We understand this likely wasn't the answer you had hoped for, but we hope it helps you better understand our position.

Note no apology for losing a customer' data of 20+website was mentioned.

Go Daddy did not -

# save at its end the data before trying to migrate ... simple risk mitigation task as would be expected

# Go Daddy did not call / write to me, a customer, that they are migrating to a server and so we are advised to take back up by such and such date / time.
For taking money on items in cart not purchased or well before domains are to expire they send repeated emails and make calls but for such a high risk task Go Daddy did not bother.

Today my investment of crores and valuation of crores i worth zero. I have nothing to say this is what I had and this is what I have lost.

I can't write for any redressal as a customer's limit is executive /supervisors someone on escalation team.

I have written to Go Daddy CEO at the email ID of the supervisor who sent me an email as I had no other email to write to.

The casual approach before and after the disaster reflects the danger each customer in India who has a website hosted at Go Daddy can face. Terms and policy is what Go Daddy will hide behind when a customer is literally killed.

I was a self-funded start up ... I cannot rise again ... I am destroyed today evening ... I have the following thoughts now :

# Go Daddy claims its has "award-winning customer service team" ... given my real life story which can be proven the statement is incorrect

# Government of India must ensure that such service providers have their email Id and contact number for someone senior is available on their website. Else let them not operate in India.

# Government of India must bring such service providers under some rules - one must be every time they undertake risky tasks (one is stated in this complaint) they are bound to call and write to customer and informed with time schedule for back up etc If they do not abide by basic rules they must not be allowed to operate in India.

# Government of India must identify points in the agreement of Go Daddy which are one sided so that Indian s do not suffer in their hands.

I just do not want anyone else in India, particularly startups suffer and become paupers in a matter of no time due to inefficiency and unprofessionalism of Go Daddy. Indians have to be saved from Go Daddy.

I can do nothing to Go Daddy although it has destroyed me fully .. should an Indian be a victim like this ... no way ... if I can do anything to prevent this from happening to another Indian in the hands of Go Daddy I will do whatever I can ... I am destroyed but I do not want any other Indian to be destroyed on the hands of Go Daddy ... certain things just cannot be compensated this case of mine is one such case.

If anyone can advise on what I should do as next step I will be obliged.

PS :

All emails exchanged on this issue follow. Sharing it so that these prove that I am not misrepresenting facts in the complaint, also these will prove if I am biased / being carried away unnecessarily.

This is regarding the Cpanel issue that you are facing from yesterday.It has been reported to our technical team and they're diligently working to address it. For now, we'll not be able to confirm any ETA.

As you had a conversation with my Supervisor regarding the Cpanel issue we have further escalated this issue.

Dear CEO of Go Daddy,

For taking my money I get emails and calls from Go Daddy ... when i put something in cart and do not buy the same day it happens.

Now from yesterday morning, all my websites are down and cpanel not accessible.

I have made quite a few calls from yesterday morning ... call records may be checked.

It is clear from S Gunashekaran clarification that all websites of a particular server are being moved to a new server
and hence the issue. And they do not know when will it all be done.

So. as confirmed by S Gunashekaran all GoDaddy customers on the concerned server have their websites down.

And now look at the best part of "your award-winning support team 24/7" follow :

# customers are not informed about such a planned move by Go Daddy which will disrupt your customers' businesses /activities for some
time (unknown time) Server change is not a small matter and no 'mitigation plan' is there to handle customers - no early warning to customers,
no warning to customers even after 24 hours of the issue.

# attached mail was received on insistence by me ... and not a word of apology in it and the mail ends with the line "If any progress, will keep you
posted."

# senior most person a customer in anguish can get to by calling is S Gunashekaran, a supervisor. And this senior most person can not give the customers in India any telephone number or email ID where a
Go Daddy customer can contact for grievance redressal .Only the escalation team will be informed by the executive / supervisor internally who
will contact between 24 to 72 hours. Customers can stay in pain for that long and you can keep claiming "award-winning support team 24x7"
All this is my talk recorded at your end as per S Gunashekaran ... you may refer same for a better understanding.

# all contents in my cpanel are my property and if anything goes wrong I am sure no one will be responsible for same.

You are a CEO and you can best understand how issues like these which fall in the perview of Consumer Court and many
other aspects of Govt of India can be flared up.

You have taken money for a service, you have not informed customer of disruption of service, you are not providing customer
when problem will be solved, customer can talk at the most to a Supervisor. Customer is not given any tel no / email Id where
customer can write, customer is told escalation team will contact between 24 to 72 hours ...and we are talking about online stuff
... websites being dead and importance of time ihas a different perspective here ... do reflect as a CEO what would you do if your
service provider does this to you ...

With the type pf pressure facebook, Google etc are from governments this case of Go Daddy is an open invitation for being taken
to task.

Remember pre-paid customer cannot be treated the way you feel like. You can do to us what you are doing know but do note events
can catch up badly, if not immediately.

I end as a thoroughly "taken for a ride" customer of an organisation that claims to have award-winning support team 24/7 called Go Daddy.
(It would be a good idea to put on your website who gave you this award, when, and what is their contact ! )

Dear Go Daddy CEO,

No one from escalation team has called me till now ... i called just now on your award winning telephone number ... executive has no idea ... my customers think I have not paid money to Go Daddy so they have shut my websites ... really award winning customer service ... when you are moving stuff from one server tot he other you should have basic technical capabilities ... if not do not do it ... do not make customers of India guinea pigs ... try it with American customers first ... determine SOPs etc and then implement in India ... truly you have everything for your online presence, as you say

If I would have been the CEO I would have made all customers receive a call ... apologise in writing and compensate in kind and definitely give a pink slip to at least 1 person .

Do not have anyone's email ID so this email ID is being sued to communicate with Go Daddy management and will be referred wherever and whenever required. These who are receiving these mails from me need to forward to all concerned and not just sit on this email.

Pathetic and shameful ... there is no award that is given for "shameful customer service 24x7" ... maybe we should start one and give the first award to you and publicise the same.

Hope the board is shocked when they know this is what is actually happening at customer interface... may Go Daddy suffer the way it is making customers like us in India suffer ...

I end as a thoroughly "taken for a ride" customer of an organisation, that claims to have award-winning support team 24/7 called Go Daddy (doubt it fully).

Dear CEO of Go Daddy,

Sekha from escalation team called me less than an hour back and informed all my cpanel data is lost by Go Daddy in the process of server migration.

I really thank you for the same. In a moment you have made me a beggar.

Sekha told me as per terms and conditions I should have maintained back up. So well said.

I have nothing to prove what I have lost.

As I have just become a beggar in less than an hour I am sure no one will lose job at Go Daddy.

Back up you must have taken before migrating data.

You should have informed customers to take backup before you proceeded with such a critical task.

Work of last 4 years of my life has been wiped out ... I really thank Go Daddy for this.

While tying this Sekha called up and confirmed again that there is no back up as confirmed by the technical team.

I have asked her to send mail on why all this has happened.

Anyway I have no option to really feel great about being a Go Daddy customer ... crores I had till four days back and
now I have nothing... I am a beggar ... truly award-winning performance by GoDaddy.

Now tell me when you migrate my data without telling an Indian customer who is responsible for the risk of the same. Which part of the terms and conditions states about same. I want escalation team to revert on this. As escalation team has shared link please tell me which part of it answers my point.

    Great day,

    We are facing issue regarding "unable to configure email id's with the outlook". Since last month we are trying to contact godaddy tech people and also sent mails several time. But no response from your end. And we have configured with the outlook acess, all is finr and only the facing issue with mail ids which has been created through go daddy. Second security need to reported by go daddy, but whenever we try to contact go daddy no response.

    We are having total 20 mail id's anf none of the mail id's are working we are facing with the 0x80040217 error. Please rectify the issue asap.

    Godaddy is the Most Pathetic Hosting Company.
    Godaddy Horrible Hosting & Email services. I am so pissed with their Customer service executives and administration. It is hard to believe that companies can offer poor services like they do and get away without serious legal implications. Just too bad.

      On 1st of august we purchased ultimate windows hosting for 3 years, initial setup is perfect all site is working perfect, after one week i tried to an single file to server using filezilla and other ftp softwares and also used plesk control panel file manager after uploading it automatically deleted the file with in 10 second. I tried all options for uploading and server settings but no use.

      After than i contact chat support, these shat support peoples does not have 0% technical knowledge on server of plesk control panel. Another big issue is admin of godaddy also dont have the knowledge of server and plesk control panel, i asked for "enable parent path" set to true in server he said this option i not available in shared hosting u go for dedicated or vps.

      At last i found the virtual directories - enable parent path setted to true.

      Now my major issue is i tried all ftp software to upload a file but after uploading automatically with in 10 sec deleted uploaded file.

      Last 24 hrs i communicating with chat support and phone support they dint resolved the issue. Admin also not resolved.
      GoDaddy India customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.

        On august 1 2018 godaddy has deleted all files from server and when i called him he keeps saying that we dont have a backup.
        So if i have ssl installed and it come with some warranty money how can i claim that.

        Also how can they delete all files without asking customer on working account and asking for money to restore it.

        After 1 week i called godaddy everyday they told me that end of day issue will be resolved but not resolved till date.

        Also when i chat with godaddy they says me sorry we dont have files and when i call with godaddy customer care they told me that we cant not recover.

As per GoDaddy's Terms of service which can be viewed here:https://in.godaddy.com/agreements/showdoc.aspx?pageid=HOSTING_SA, maintaining backups of website/server content is a customer's responsibility.

        We understand this likely wasn't the answer you had hoped for, but we hope it helps you better understand our position.

          My hosting, cpanel and both emails are not working since last sunday, 29-july-2018. Today, 04-august-2018, and still godaddy cannot even give a timeline for resolution. Horrible service from godaddy. Representatives giving scripted answer that it is (Still after so many days) a known issue and tech team is working on it. A nightmare called godaddy. Requesting everyone who is planning to purchase service from godaddy to stay away from this pathetic company else would do so at their own risk (As godaddy does not take any liability or responsibility). People already having services from godaddy, please move to any other service provider before it is too late. Strangely godaddy representatives cannot even give an email i'd or physical address in india to write to. Never ever think of getting or continuing your services from godaddy. Please check with multiple complaints about godaddy before taking your decision wisely.

          Am also facing the same issue. The worst ever service provider I have seen. A small difference is I am facing the issue from july 20 and still all my sites are down. Godaddy are no were near to understand what is happening and not ready to resolve the issue. Left with no other option rather than to quit godaddy.
          Strangely you would not finf anyone from GoDaddy listening or at all caring. Worst they would also want to save your payment credentials for future financial shocks without your knowledge.

            We have hosting package with godaddy.com and we have seen its not working from sunday 29 july 2018 (02pm). We tried to ask godaddy about resolution but there is no support from them.

            Call center number starting with +40 also not working from sunday, only chat support working and all chat support staff just passing ball and not right information or time frame providing.

            We have requested more that 20 time to provide perfect time line but they just doing harassment.

            I have bad experience with godaddy and request you to migrate from godaddy as they are just making false promise.

            From 2pm Sunday 29th July 2018 your team advised me to wait for complaint server migration. Today your staff saying that we had server failure and we lost your live data, we have uploaded whatever with us. It means we lost all updated products, supplier list, and latest coding also.

            Who is responsible for all data loss ? We have spent lots of time behind all development and registration etc and you made this error.

            We need our backup, also we are going take legal action behind it.

            Call me right now or we will go with legal process for misguide/harassment and playing from 5 days and given wrong information about server migration/failure.

            As per Mr Podkar, he has no name/contact number/email address of his team leader, line manager, escalation team or concern person. Even he is not willing to resolve my query over the call.

            Also he admitted that GoDaddy has no desk or email id where customers can send query or ask question.

            What is going on in India, we have the online service provider who has no resolve desk ?

            Mr Podkar - [protected]@godaddy.com has not given satisfied answer and we lost all our contents. Even he has given wrong information that the contents updated which was there on 29th July 2018 (2pm) when its fake information provided as per he discussed with concern team.

                  I purchased Wildcard SSL Certificate but it's not working even after 10 days for our subdomain. I called multiple times to GoDaddy customer care but they are not giving any solution even after putting my call on hold for more than 1 hour every day.

                  Complete worse service. I never recommend GoDaddy service. Even they are not worried about a call back too.

                    Never ever deal with GoDaddy as this is a fraud company and not at all suitable for Indian market and Indian sentiments. Credit card got exipred and during the wait period they suspended the service and stole more than 50 website data to own them. Beware... GoDaddy is a fraud company, without basic business ethics.

                            After that he is disconnect the call and i try to call more than
                            20times but no any executive help me. After 24hr again i had call then
                            I explain my issues to one executive then they transfer my call to mr.
                            Chetanya, they suggest me please move in ultimate hosting plan
                            Again, in this process our database has been lost on both plan starter
                            Host and ultimate hosting plan. Again i request in your team for
                            This issues then someone suggest me kindly purchase a database restore

                              I have done the traceroute of your IP 182.50.151.50 and screenshot is attached which going up to the their singapore ip secure server (182.50.156.241) and after that requested timed out is coming.

                              I requested godaddy customer care people to traceroute of my public static IP (183.82.2.48 - Act Fibernet), from which I'm not able to access plesk panel, FTP site and our website (carefoundation.org.in) and sent it to my mail ID, for that they keep on telling that "check with your ISP or unfortunately will have no access on that".

                              suddenly now I'm able to ping FTP site (182.50.151.50), but the database server (43.255.152.26) is not pinging and not able to trace it out. Please find the attachment for the screenshot..

                              From today morning everything is working fine now.. Yesterday I have suffered alot because of these godaddy customer care people are not at all co-operative or customer friendly. On the other side our ISP providers are very co-operative that they came to our location to help... But the worst experience I have had in my life with the godaddy as even though I'm a Network Engineer... I need these people to be sued as I'm totally pissed of in explaining the problem and asking for the trace route logs..

                                This is to bring to your notice regarding the unsatisfactory service being offered by your india office.
                                I have subscribed to this connection on march 18th, 2018 for web hosting and email. For the first one month, i availed the services without any glitch. However, in the subsequent month i. E post-april 20th, i have started experiencing the problem. Most of the times i am unable to access my email. The message that i receive on the computer screen is either “your cookies are invalid” or ” your ip address is changed, please login again”. I conveyed the same to the customer service yesterday i. E may 19th, 2018 wherein i was told to change my service provider. I did so but the problem was not resolved, neither any sincere efforts were undertaken from your end to address the issue. Rather on sustained questioning, i was told that this problem will persist and that i have to subscribe to a different service and pay extra. When i enquired if that was the case how did the connection went without any glitch in the first month itself and if changing the network is a solution i did so but without any luck. Even my request to have a conversation with the team leader got unanswered. I was told the team leader would give me a call but alas the call never came, and upon dialing your no again i was told that the team leader is busy.
                                This is customer service at its lowest point. I strongly feel being cheated and the problem was created deliberately so that i can be brainwashed into switching over to the expensive option. Such deliberate act of misleading a customer from goddaddy defies common logic. I am incurring a business loss due to your inaction and shall hold godaddy for the same in the court of law if required.
                                Therefore you are hereby requested to address my grievance by undertaking suitable measures as godaddy carries a goodwill in the market and ensure uninterrupted mailing service.

                                  My ssl accidently got canceled yesterday. I found out this in few minutes i got your mail saying that "if this was a mistake or you need help with anything else, call our support team" to recover your ssl. I called their tech support. After an hour of conversation i got the reply that you need to pay 4500rs. To recover you ssl. Means seriously you are charging 4500rs and asking me to buy new ssl?. For just a silly mistake? Horrible company. I have ultimate hosting, nothing ultimate about it and have paid and bought more and more resources and they still crash my site! So i am asking for my unused balance refund but they denied for that also. I mostly get calls and emails from godaddy almost in every 15 days for, domain, ssl, hosting plans and upgrades but on this issue they never contacted me to resolve this issue. I just got frustrated with their services. They just want your money nothing else. They are like del boy and rodney of the hosting world thieves!! Don’t test them. Go elsewhere. They don’t even give refunds. Utter disgrace and daylight robbery. Don't go with godaddy. Go with anyone but!!

                                    I had purchased 3 windows hosting plans in their server. My application is developed in asp.net and all three are using task scheduler. But suddenly they removed task scheduler from their plesk panel and my applications stopped running. My clients are asking for the compensation for the business loss and damage they incurred.

                                    When i called godaddy, they said they have removed task scheduler application from the plesk and asking me to buy vps. But my argument is very simple - it is their duty to provide the promised services for complete 1 year as i have paid for it for complete 1 year. They are not agreeing for this and asking me to upgrade to vps with additional cost. I told them to refund my money, but they are saying they don't have refund policy. I asked them to give free upgrade to vps for rest of the period. They are telling it is not possible.

                                      I am a godaddy customer and my customer id is[protected] and have been allotted 100 free email ids as a part of the plan that i have paid the amount for. While i was purchasing the said plan i was told that i can use the email space for sending and receiving emails without any inconvenience however it has been a month since i am unable to login into my account and even send or receive emails. I tried getting in touch with the support team a number of times and was assured that the problem will come to an end within 24 hours however nothing got resolved as of now and i am facing the same issues.

                                      Surprisingly, today i. E. 16.04.2018 at about 21:06 i had a word with the support team and was informed that the problem would persist since godaddy has reduced the bandwith and the free email id's would not work anymore and there would be a delay of almost 24 hours for each email to be sent and delivered.

                                      I mean this is ridiculous, godaddy is just advertising all false claims and making gains at the cost of consumers money.

                                        I purchased hosting service one the assurance of Godaddy customer care assurance, renewed hosting service for my portal www.uvsystech.com / www.uvstech.in,
                                        after that I have contacted 20 times and also got reply on phone and e-mail also about the mistake committed by customer care lady,

                                        I have been asking for refund of the same amount paid for purchasing (not used hosting service) hosing service.

                                        Still there is no reply from customer care, I have been running from pillar to post since last 3--4 months but no reply.

                                        I do have all communication e-mail sent and recieved from customer care deptt of Godaddy.
