I am being asked to pay settlement fees of rupees 533 for a sim that has been inactive for more than a year.
When asked to give me a detailed bill about the services used they say we don't have any records.
Additionally, I am repeatedly being messaged and harrassed from different numbers to pay the amount for a service I have not used.
As a customer I should be given a detailed bill and the log of calls if made to justify the charged amount. Deliberately not giving information and coercing someone to pay unjustified settlement fees which also includes a waiver is ridiculous. I have never seen any establishment waiver amount on "bills".
The sim has been inactive for more than a year, isn't it company's responsibility to intimate the customer as soon as the sim goes inactive. But this establishment prefers waiting for a year before asking "settlement fees".
As a customer, withholding information about services used and coercion to pay for services not used compromises my rights as specified by the consumer protection act, 2019.
Idea Cellular customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
