SUB: chq no. 914807, Bank A/c no.[protected], A/Y 2009-10, Amt. 21,710/-, PAN AKKPPM3460P
On 29-11-10 I went to Income tax Department at Bamboo Villa (Kolkata) for the purpose of revalidation of Income Tax Refund Order. There at range 25(4), I was told that they cannot accept the refund cheque there & I have to send the original cheque back to SBI (Mumbai). They also told me that after sending the cheque and receiving the intimation from SBI, I need to visit the IT Department with following documents:
1. Original Intimation from SBI
2. Xerox of refund cheque.
3. Xerox of Aknowledgement of IT Return filed.
Then as per instruction I couriered cheque and application to SBI Mumbai, on[protected]. I waited for few days for Intimation from SBI (which till date I have not received), then I called up Ayakar Sampark Kendra at[protected] to enquire about so called intimation & refund.
They told me for refund, visit IT Deptt, with following 2 documents(nothing else required):
1. Xerox of refund cheque.
2. Copy of application forwarded to SBI, Mumbai.
Then as per above instruction , one of my relative went to IT Department again on 20.12.10.
There he was told by Ms. Shipra Das (Divanji) that:
1. Cheque should not have been sent to SBI & should be deposited to IT Deptt. only.
2. Bank Pass Book is also required ( to confirm whether cheque was encashed).
3. It will take 6 months to get the refund.
Now I am very confused about the documentation requirement of IT department. So, request them to confirm over the email what all is required, so that I am not harassed again by IT department, Bamboo Villa, Kolkata Range 25(4). I wrote the same compaint at [protected]@incometaxindia.gov.in on[protected], but till date, I have not received any reply
