Excessive Interest/penalty on late payment

Address: Mumbai

I need to pay Rs.401 if I pay my gas bill on 4/10/24.
I need to pay Rs.501 if I pay the bill on 5/10/24.
This works out to 1000% interest.
On what basis a Government Company can charge such a huge penalty/interst even for one day delay in payment of gas bill.
This is atrocious.
Household gas consumers are poor/lower middle class.

My gas connection is disconnected. For reconnecting, I have paid the reconnection charges. Still, the technician has not visited our house to reconnect the gas supply. With kids and elderly at home, it is very difficult to stay without a gas connection

    Gas supply disconnection without intimation

    To-day in the afternoon workers were sent by Sahadeb Shyamal, MGL contractor to do extension work in one of the row houses without any intimation to others (30 row houses residents) of N Row, sector6, vashi
    400703.
    The gas supply was discontinued from 3.00 pm to-day and still 6.45 pm
    the supply remained discontinued.

    Reconnection of temporarily disconnected CA-210000815930

    Without giving a feedback for three day only after I call the call centre They are asking me to rewrite the mail with certain words ....

    Inflated bills without merit

    Address: Pay & Accounts Building, Ground Floor, Near Family Court, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra (East), Mumbai-400051

    I am PNG consumer of Mahanagar Gas Limited with connection CA no.[protected] and MGL is charging me with inflated bills f the period June 0223 upto April 2024.

    The Gas Consumption Charges rate Per SCM should be multiplied by the actual SCM consumed. However each bill for the above mentioned cycle date s has been inflated with one (1) additional SCM unit per month without merit

    Nobody from Mahanagar Gas Limited...

    4X increase in gas units and high bill amount

    Hi,
    I have not used gas frequently since 23rd December 2023 until 31st Dec 2023. Also, I have been out of Mumbai from 1st Jan 2024 to 12th Jan 2024.
    Despite this infrequent use and absence, my bill for the period 8th Dec 2023 to 31st Jan 2024 shows 21 units. My earlier billing cycles normally is 4/5 units per two-month cycle for a family of 1-2 individuals. This is shocking.

    MGL has failed to deliver bills at the correct address on time. They deliver bills more than 10 days of the bill date and then expect bills to be cleared withing two days. The consumer may be out of town. MGL then imposes an irrational fine for delayed payment

          Our last bill amounted to approximately 4189 rs which is extortionate and it is a complete rip off, we opted for the gas pipeline thinking that it would be cheaper than cylinders however it turns out otherwise. please look into this or else I will escalate it further

              The first bill I received from Mahanagar gas was billed from April 2021 but the connection at my home started Dec 2021. I was incorrectly billed for 7 months. I had raised multiple complaints with Mahanagar gas, but all I have is a new docket no. every time and no resolution. latest docket no. - 7334762 I have asked them to give me a revised bill minus the extra charges added for the initial 7 months and to waive off the late fee. But everytime the reply I get is we will look into the issue and get back, but unfortunately I don't receive any response.
              Looking forward to get the bill revised corrected bill.

                Excessive Billing + Bill not provided

                I had written a letter to MGL on 30.05.2023 and given meter reading snapshot showing 00055144. (CA No[protected], BP No. [protected]). My building-Isha Prasad- is slated to go under redevelopment hammer and therefore I vacated my premises on[protected], i.e. next day. Upon request of developer, the meter was decommissioned on 22.06.2023 when the meter reading showed 00055246.

                I am getting charged excessive bills since last 6 months
                Further moreover in the month of Jun 2023 they charged excess of 1200/- as arrears ( FYI, there is no outstanding bill from our end, SS attached here with) so please make correction in June month’s bill and send it correct bill to us as soon as possible.
                There should be default in meter or Gas leakage issue.

                      We have registered our complaint on the Mahanagar Gas pipeline regarding new connection. We called them 8times in a row but no one has turned up.
                      This is highly unethical and unprofessional. Everytime we call the customer care support they say we will receive a call from superior within 24hrs-48hrs, still we are waiting for the call. There is existing pipeline in the building premises the technician has to come and visit the place and set the new connection. Its been 3months now for the complaint.

                      Requesting for solution for the same at earliest.
