I have booked my airline e ticket of Air India AI 9866 from Makemytrip.com (Website) on January 6, 2017 from Raipur to Bhopal of Rs. 5413.

Due to sudden change in plan, i tried cancelling my e-ticket from the Website but there was some technical failure. I then called the customer care of the website to inform them and requested them for cancelling my e-ticket. I was given to understand that some portion of the ticketed amount will be deducted as penalty and cancellation charges. I asked them to proceed with the same.

The customer care due to some reason or the other failed to cancel my ticket and informed me that they are requesting the airlines directly for my cancellation.

I, customer care and a representative from the airlines side, commenced our conference call. In the call, i was informed that the airlines also cannot cancel my ticket and i will be considered as a NO Show and thus will not be entitled for any refund.

My contention is even when i am informing both the parties that i have to make sudden change in plans and it is a failure on their part that they are not cancelling my ticket, why and how i can be subjected to such a situation.

I kept on requesting them to cancel my ticket and refund a minimal amount but they refused to even try cancelling my ticket. I have already informed them that i will not travelling today then how can they consider my a NO Show case and decline my refund.

    Its been 6months and on that MakemyTrip has not refunded the amount after the flight went non operational. MakemyTrip has not taken any action to recover the money from AirPegasus where as Air Pegasus had already confirmed that they have paid the money to Make My Trip and MMT are nt refunding the money back to customers.
    MMT is a big cheat company. they have money to pay Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh but they dont have money to refund customers.
    SHAME TO MAKE MY TRIP Managmement. Fraudsters.

    GIVE OUR MONEY BACK.

    Again the same response that MMT wl give is Air Pegasus have not refunded. Bloody What the hell have you done wince 6 months to recover from Air Pegasus. DAMN. BIG CHEATS.

    This email is regarding the refund claim for your Air Pegasus flight.

    We appreciate your note below. The current issue is not isolated to you but to many others who booked to fly on Air Pegasus through not only MakeMyTrip but other agencies including airline’s own website.

    When you make a booking, the fare amount is transferred to the airline. When a flight is cancelled or when a passenger decides to cancel, the due amount is received back from the airline which we refund back to the Customer.

    At this juncture, the airline has not refunded the due amount back to us and the entire industry is chasing Air Pegasus. We hope you will at least appreciate that we don’t run the airline. The situation of Air Pegasus is well known to all o[censored]s. What we can assure you is that MakeMyTrip is not holding your money and never will. The moment we get this back from the airline we will start the refund process. We also assure you once again that the issue is faced by all flyers regardless of where and who they booked their ticket from.

    We are constantly asking the airline. We will begin refund the moment airline directs us to do so.

    Request your patience under these force Majeure conditions.

      Bought 10 flight tickets (5 tickets x 2 times) through @Makemytrip. They charged me Rs 225 per ticket (Rs 2, 250) as the convenience fee. It is a hidden charge and that I came to know through the emailed invoices. I requested them for a refund of the amount but in reply, the customer support termed it as the Website Maintenance Fees and hence is non-refundable. Insane!!

        I had booked 3 online Bus tickets from Makemytrip website for Somnath to Ahmedabad on 30th December, 2016. The total ticket fare was INR. 1, 656/-. Due to change of plans, I wanted to cancel the tickets. However, the website didn't allow to cancel the tickets online and asked to call customer care for cancellation. On 27th December 2016, I called customer care to cancel the tickets. Although I had called for cancellation, the customer care representative advised that first they will check and inform the cancellation charges and then call back for further process. I agreed and they dropped the call. They did call back, however I was not able to attend the same as I was travelling. [I am not sure whether the call back was just a miss call or a full call]. I called back but couldn't get through. Neither did they call back again. Later, I checked the complaint status (Attachment enclosed - Complaint MMT Bus Cancellation) which was shown as resolved. So, I was under the impression that the cancellation has been processed. However, later when I checked on 30th December 2016, the tickets were still not cancelled. Unable to reach the customer care via call, I raised a complaint on their website regarding the issue. In reply they quoted that as per cancellation policy cancellation charges between 720 to 0 minutes before travel was 100% of total fare and thus no refund is applicable in my case as they were considering cancellation request to be made on 30th December, 2016.

        The main issue I would like to raise here is that on 27th December (3 days before the trip), I had called to cancel the tickets, but it was they who requested to call me back to inform me about the applicable cancellation charges. This was not my requirement/ demand but their process, which now seems unnecessary as cancellation request was made 3 days prior to the trip, thus there should have been only 25% of cancellation charges as per their policy (Attachment enclosed - Bus ticket cancellation policy Makemytrip). Further, this could have been notified in the same call which would not have required a follow up call. Also, they didn't call back again after trying once which in any way I am not sure whether was just a miss call or actual attempt. If they were genuine, they would have called again. Because of these reasons, it seems that Makemytrip carried out this deliberately and in bad faith.
        And also, why online cancellation is not allowed when bookings are made online? Calling customer care for cancellation takes too much time and most of the time you can't get through.

        The way this issue has been handled by Makemytrip and their customer care is completely unethical. And I want refund of the bus ticket considering the cancellation was requested on 27th December, 2016. If cancellation charges is 25% applicable on that date, please deduct that and refund the balance.

          I had booked my hotel plus flight voucher from make my trip 2 months well in advance for travelling to Goa on the 29thbof December. So on 27th October I paid fully for the air tickets plus the hotel on the same day and got the emails confirming the E-Tickets and the Hotel voucher.

          But on my flight to goa from Mumbai I called up the hotel since I needed to ask them if they had scooties available. And to my surprise they told me that there was never a booking under my name and they didn't have an rooms available now.
          Apparently MAKEMYTRIP never forwarded any information to them and sent me a confirmation voucher in which it was clearly mentioned that 'your hotel booking is confirmed and you do not need to contact the hotel'

          At the goa airport I was on the phone with the makemytrip executive where he kept giving me really really bad options. When I have booked a 3 star hotel well in advance why the hell would I go for a bad property that too because of their fault!

          The MMT executive also had the audacity to tell me at that moment when we both clearly knew that all hotels are booked now for the new year's.
          He told me he was ready to refund me and I should go find a hotel myself!
          I have never seen such weird and disrespectful behavior. Disgusting services. After 3 hours of waiting at the airport I got a hotel! That too where the water was pretty dirty and they were not ready to accept that it's dirty! They kept telling us it was the lighting so I finally took a photo without the lights and you can see that it's water.

          Really disappointed. I want Makemytrip to compensate for this.

            Dear sir,
            My friend srikantha thavanappa booked flight tickets from make my trip with family and daughter, trip from belgaum to delhi via mumbai and return ticket from delhi to belgaum via mumbai, it costed him almost 34000/- inr. But due to some unavoidable circumstances he had to cancel the journey. As cancellation charges they have deducted 30, 000/- and paid back only 4000/-inr, this is a clear cut case of loot, monopoly, .no matter if they would have deducted 50% of money, but here they deducted almost 88%, real case of consumer helplessness. Needs aviation ministry and pmo to look in to the matter where customers are being looted and they are helpless.

            We are sorry to read about the issue, In reference to your complaint regarding the wrong penalty quoted.
            Please note that we tried calling you twice but the call was not answered.
            Kindly note that after cancellation we received the refund of INR 4074/-.
            Please find below the break-up for the cancellation:
            cancellation penalty for spicejet- INR 2136/- per person per sector and refund initiated of INR 5424/- from spice jet and refund from Go-Air we received the refund of INR 279/- in all total. For Jet airways the cancellation penalty is INR 4000/- per person per sector.
            Hence no further refund can be process from airline, but as a good will gesture we can waive of the makemytrip service fees and convenience fees which is equal to 4500/-.

            Kindly give us go ahead for the same.

            Its completely unethical, just because of our helplessness you people are looting, I agree regarding the rules of deductions by airlines, but logically and morally if you think how can you deduct 30, 000/- INR out of 34, 000/-within 05mnts of booking time and cancellation time, its the clear cut example of Monopoly, Loot and Bullying, I will file legal complaint against you all no matter I will loose Million Rupee, but i will definitely teach you a lesson.

            Refund amount should be 3859.
            I have called to customer care so many times but i havent got refund on any of the dates specified.

              It has been been almost 15 days and you all have not yet refunded the money to my account. This is really rediculous.we have booked a hotel at 23rd of december 2016 at mysuru.it costs almost rs. 1000. the money got deducted from my account.When we went there we did not get any accomodation.they refused any room to be vacent.I also complained earlier.you told you will refund the money back.Still i did'nt got a single penny in my account.please refund as soon as possible.

                Makemytrip india complaint status update [id: 1454746]... No response has come for the said complaint. I will go to court if not taken any action. These makemytrip and indigo people have no right to torture the consumers by causing inconvenience and not returning amount and harassing them without taking proper response. It's better to go to court and get the justice.

                  On nov 1st we tried to make an international booking via mmt over the internet. But as some technical problem occurred it did not work so make my trip (Mr deepak chaudhary) called us and we continued making the booking on the phone. We were asked if we wanted to pay an extra amount in order to make the date changeable up to a year. We cannot remember the exact amount. But we agreed to this. However when we indeed tried to change the ticket, we were told that the ticket was not changeable so we lost most of our money.

                  We find it not acceptable that the oral information we received was misleading: we were told the ticket was changeable for an extra fee, when it was not.
                  The information on the ticket was incomprehensible phrase for an average consumer: crucial information should not be communicated with a acronym: “rir date change fee before departure n p +500 inr”. Mmt claims that n. P. Would mean “not permissible”. An average reader can not know that, particularly because of the “+rs500” behind the acronym. It makes no sense to charge money for something that would not be possible. So np would more likely refer to something else that includes a condition (“as available” or something like that)

                  We have booked a complaint about this on dec 22 and received a confirmation that our complaint was received (Id[protected]. This is now more than 10 days ago and we still have not heard back from mmt.

                  Also we would like to inform you that if it was a case of date change then also you would had paid the date change penalty + fare difference.

                    Bitter and worst experience of customer service by makemytrip.com

                    Last friday i chose makemytrip over other online services like yatra.com
                    And goibibo. Now i am totally regretting on this decision.

                    I had booked a resort for the new year's eve. I did book a room for
                    In ashok beach resort pondicherry.

                    After that i had to modify the date of the booking. I tried for
                    Almost 5-6 hrs to modify with all possible options.

                    Option1
                    To modify with the same hotel with different dates. This ended up in the internal server error

                    Option 2
                    To modify with some other hotel on a different date as on the changed date the particular hotel was booked fully.
                    This also ended up in the internal server error.

                    The message everytime i got was "there is some internal error. Please try again."

                    This was really disgusting as almost 5-6 hours was wasted doing this same thing.

                    The customer support was not at all helpful. The most disgusting part
                    Was that i had to wait for almost 2 hours to speak to the customer support executive.
                    The wait time in the beginning was 5 mins and after 3 mins it used to increase by 20 mins. This happened multiple times.

                    After that also there was no proper resolution given to my problem.

                    This has spoiled my whole new year weekend.

                    So guys think well before choosing makemytrip.com

                      Sir,
                      I have booked room at jaipur on 1 jan and confirmed room by yourside but after half and hour around 10 they call me and say about hotel change and provide other hotel within 1 hrs but didn't get their respond and i have contact mmt but after 3 time they give same response that they are trying and provide me hotel and again they provide me the same hotel and hotel person say that they don't have room vacant. and finally i got room after 12 pm. Actually hotel have the vacant room in morning but due to heavy rush on that day they wanna sale it on more price and they say me to cancel room and take room costlier so they are making fool at all and in between your communication they have wasted 200 rs by auto to go at hotel 3 time and at last they have provide me worst room with bad facilities.                         This is with reference to booking ID NH[protected] and cancellation number IN1612R9S2733138. It is surprising to see that it's been more than ten days now and the refund amount has still not been refunded. The customer care says it will be done and has no clue what to say beyond that. When will it be done? They say they have "processed". Now "processed" is a very clever and vague term. They think we are fools. How much time does it take to refund an amount in 21st century? I am surprised at such irresponsibility. MakeMyTrip has completely taken away the trust factor from me as a customer.

                            R.sir I have booked a hotel online in Indore dated 9.12.16 using Axis Bank card no 4459 by mobile no [protected] mail id [protected]@gmail.com amount have been deducted I.e 1484 and room was not booked. Till today the deducted amt is not refunded. I have called and sent email also but no response has been recvd kindly let me know how much time is required to resolve the complaint and arrange to refund the amount in my Axis Bank account.

                                I made 2 bookings by using my icici bank debit card for a 20% cashback offer on taj hotel. I already had rooms confirmed directly from taj hotels, but since they advertised in the paper for 20% cash back, i cancelled from taj hotels and made the same bookings through make my trip. I kept calling their call centers several times to ensure i get the cash back. Everytime their agents acknowledged my bookings and said i am eligible for cash back. I luckily happen to have one of my call recorded from the auto call recording app. Prior to check in at taj deccan on 23rd dec one of the agent said that i will get the cash back within 72 hours of check out and the check out was on 25th dec. Then since 25th december, i have been calling to check the status of cash back and make my trip is trying its best to deny this cash back. I have made 2 bookings under this offer and i am eligible for a cash back around rs.11, 000/- but sometimes they say that i have not applied the code at the time of booking, they are trying to find the call recordings of the agents who acknowledged me the cash back from past 3-4 days they didn't find the call recording and now they have come back saying that they need a proof of cash back offer being applicable for icici bank card. They say that it was only for citi bank and axis bank where as they were offering additional discount of 10% on and above the 20% for axis and citi bank credit or debit card.
                                They are just trying to waste time so that we get fed up and leave the money. I have wasted a lot of time and gone through a lot of stress due to the same as i had planned my expenses and credit card payments based on this cash back.
                                If make my trip was not ready to give the cash back offer to it clients, why should they make false commitments.

                                  Please note that we have initiated a refund of INR 1, 111 against unsuccessful MakeMyTrip Booking ID NF[protected].
                                  It will take us a maximum of 24 hours to process the amount into your account. Post that it might take up to 3 working days in case your issuer bank is private or SBI, else up to 12 working days in case of nationalized bank for the amount to reflect in your account. MakeMyTrip unfortunately has no influence on these timelines post refund is processed.

                                  But yesterday i got a call this is a technical error and this happens regularly with make my trip by one Manager Ismail

                                  Further, in reference to your complaint, we have validated your case at our end and found that, customer has tried making a flight booking on 19-Dec-16 but the same has got failed also, found that only 55 payback point has been charged from customer's account. The refund of the same has been processed on the same day of transaction. But, due to some technical glitch at our end, incorrect confirmation was sent to customer regarding more refund than actually charged. We sincerely apologized for the same.

                                    We booked a ticket from VTZ to BLR at 18:45 on 26th Dec 2016 for travel date 18Jan'17. We were surprised to get a ticket for 19th Jan vide PNRNF[protected] after making the payment. The fare pertaining to 18th was charged but ticket was issued for 19th. After talking for about hour and a half, and after we sent the screen shots of dates and fares to make my trip executive( Mr.Sukhwinder Singh), we were assured a full refund of Rs.7346 but later a confirmation mail was received pertaining to cancellation for an amount of Rs.4848.

                                    When we called up the make my trip toll free number again to complaint about the disparity in the refund amount, Mr. Abhishek spoke to us for an half an hour without giving us any resolution and then transferred the call to Mr. Atul who tried telling us that a full amount of Rs.7346 will be refunded but when we asked for a mail confirmation with the same amount, he said that we have to accept his word orally and refused to send a mail confirmation and he disconnected the call in the middle. In the above process we spent a precious 3 hours without a proper resolution.

                                    With no fault of ours we have been forced to undergo so much of stress and financial loss. We have all the screen shots with us : with 2 dates on the same page i.e. 18th and 19th Jan and respective fares, and booking page which again has both dates but fare of 18th only. I am attaching all the screen shots.

                                    We are totally vexed with the make my trip attitude in dealing with the customers. Our email id is [protected]@gmail.com
