Received dead plant paste instead of live ones and ordered a fish too which was not delivered. Very bad service. My order was processed after 2 weeks. No customer service what so ever, literally had ton beg them to reply to my queries, wasted a rs. 1000 on their mediocre service n products. They are very well aware of the time within which a plant will die still will provide an option to send via regular post and have dead products delivered. Kindly take action accordingly. My order no. was #221053. I dont think they will have the courtesy to refund my money i paid for the fish.
Super disappointed.

I booked hotel on 12-OCT-2015. And cancelled it on 27-OCT-2015. According to terms and condition I should get all money upon cancellation as term and condition. But still I don't get refund. My booking id is NH[protected].

:-) I can understand the frustration Rahul. I like your email though.. I am going through the same treatment here since September. But since (in one of their rare whats-app one-liners) THEY once accused me of being 'rude', i have only been pleading with them ever since :-) They are very sensitive to customer feedback i believe :-)

Instead of wasting time writing to them, i am going to spend some time letting other people know that while ordering from MMH one should pray to all the Gods they know - that they get their orders delivered without any issues. God forbid if you have a problem!!

i had made a purchase through pay pal and the transaction was made and the money credited into makemyhobby.com next day i received a mail from makemyhobby.com stating as follows,

but when contacted pay-pal people they say the amount got credited into makemyhobby.com people so my humble request is that either credit my money back into my account or please transact my order and give me a date because its already late.

I agree to your complaint - and after 1 month of ordering from them (order # 8026) - I think they believe in cheating and fraudulent practices.

I would advise you to become a bit more active on the internet and post a lot of complaints about MMH - this ways we will atleast save a lot of people from being cheated by them.

Also if you feel the need to initiate a legal complaint against them, contact me as I plan to do the same if my order is not delivered / refunded within the next 1 week.

Hi,
Made two purchases of aquarium freshwater fish and decorations from www.makemyhobby.com a Hyderabad based company dealing in aquarium products on[protected] and[protected] for a total amount of about Rs. 4000/- Payment was made by NEFT to a bank account intimated by the website through an email. Today when I tried to login at www.makemyhobby.com the site would not open and I got the message 'THIS ACCOUNT HAS BEEN SUSPENDED' The only way to contact them is through an online 'Contact Us' form or chat but the site does not open. I cannot make any enquiries about my product or contact any person because I am blocked from the site. Have I been cheated? How can I get a refund?

I don't have a complaint my experience at Kmart was pleasant the young lady in garden center was helpful and polite.

Please post Invoice number here, Im willing to take chance to purchase some plants there and when I contacted company with your complain and shown my hesitations, they ask me Invoice number of yours and told me that their competitors are making this false negative campaign.

Once you provide Invoice number I will place test order with them and post my results here. And by the way they are providing Live Arrival Guarantee of plants and agreed to replace all plants that are dead when arrived.

MMH you have my support to say that the company is true to its word.

Make my Hobby Hyderabad is a company which indulges in fraud. This is an unrealible company. No management, has customer cell never works. Make my hobby should be investigated by police in hyderabad and am making a criminal and civil complain against them in Jaipur. BE WARE I am also involving the bank where I made payments and am asking the court to freeze the account

I wish I had seen these reviews before, but I have actually purchased some aquatic stuff from them earlier today through paypal as a gift to someone else. Since, my billing address of the card is not the same as that of the shipping address they are asking me for my recent credit card statement, which I am quite skeptical about sending across. So, can anyone help me answer my question as to weather or not I should send it to process my order. Since there is no way that I could cancel my order now, the least I wish for is to ensure the aquarium reaches in time for the occasion I intended to send!

Kavya, I think you should avoid giving your card details. Imagine paying for the aquarium and then not recieving it at all. If I were you, I would look at other options. good luck

I had ordered for live fishes with order no. 6520 and made fund transfer for Rs 936/- to their bank in Hyderabad and when I enquired from them, they informed me that only NEFT payment is accepted and who told me to make fund transfer. I told them that I don't have NEFT so was making fund transfer. I also informed them to check their account which they are not ready to do so. I sent them around 7 mails but not a single response from them. They don't have contact number or email I'd then why are they doing business. My first experience is my worst experience. Buyers beware.

sorry for posting so late... but when i was cheated i thought may be it was a mistake, but now when i have read abt 100 complaints about MMH... I am sure its a tradition for them, , , , , , MMH is a total fraud company... If anyone is even thinking of buying anything from them, then look around 100 times... if a company can make 2 sucssful deliveries out of 100.. it shouldbe even not be considered. and its been nearly a year later after the first post and every problem with the company still exist... i lost my cargo and money to this scam of a company... others, dont even come around this site...

I have seen a lot of posts from people saying that Makemyhobby.com is a fraud company - It is. Most of those posts have been dismissed by the company saying that if anyone is making true allegations, he should provide a order number - thats what I am doing now.

If makemyhobby guys ask you for anyone with a order number - you can mention that - Order placed on Aug 6th, 2010 ... not received anything as yet.

I would like to make a little update here about my order - 8026, it has been delivered yesterdar - though i had to collect it from the railway station. I received it in good shape - all my fishes were alive and only downside was the plants i ordered never were in the parcel.

I am still happy though about the way my parcel arrived and the packaging, it was really good. It has been a mixed bag for now as I got my fish delivered but the plants never came.

I have also ordered some fresh water aquirum plant ( ref: 8486) . They cancelled the order even the fund transferred within a day. They have assured that I'll get refund within a week...Already 12 days over. No mail adress, no contact number of customer care. Looinkig like a chitter / frad business site.

Totally agree with the customer. I too have ordered few fishes and some food, it's been more than 2 months, still the products are yet to be delivered. When I spoke to the customer care, he started abusing and telling me to shutup. The it's a total SHAM site. I'm now going to file a report with the police for forgery and running an online sham store.

They are a big time CHEATER, LOOSER, FRAUD etc etc.
They dont even have any physical store / stock room etc. When some one is placing any order then they are asking the official distributors / dealers to send the materials / fishes / plants to them then they are sending those ordered products to the real customers.

NEVER EVER TRUST MakeMyHobby.com for any deal.

i had just 2 doubts and wanted to write in, since I AM in Hyderabad, I thought I could also pay a visit and see what I can pick.

I finally got a out of context reply to my query and then logged into the live help, to receive a funny over-smart representative answering my questions with all the sarcasm him mommy taught him. Ironically, along the conversation, he also happened to mention that he never ever visited India, thats when I pointed that his company address WAS Hyderabad.

strangely, no phone numbers, even upon asking.

I'm an amature aquarist myself and a dentist by profession. I'd ordered Plants and live stock from MMH a couple of times since Aug.'10 till Jan.'11 and I've absolutely no complaints against the MMH team. All their shipments sent to me arrived on time and were in perfect condition.
Also their support Team is very quick and well responsive. They attend to your query almost immediately.

I agree that there might be some glitches at times from Team MMH, but I wonder, how can we expect a 100% delivery rate, where live stock is conserned.

I'd put a special request to confirm the minimum temperature of Delhi City,
to ensure safe transit of the parcel, as it contained perishable items, viz
live plants and fish.
I've recieved mail informing me that my parcel has been dispatched on
10.01.11 via Nizamuddin Exp., and is expected to reach Delhi on 12.01.11.
Delhi city's minimum temp is around 3-4 Degree C these days.
And I doubt that i'd recieve the contents of the parcel in good health as
MMH Team didn't confirm Delhi City's Min temp with me, as requested.

Kindly, tell me what should be done in case, I find the contents of the
parcel in poor or perished condition.

We shipped items due to 2 reasons, first there is little respite from separate state agitations in Hyderabad and we are clearing maximum orders because if it again start there will be strikes and office closures and we will not able to process any order for long time. Last year we could not operate for 45 days due to same issue, you can imagine the loss company faced in live business.

Don't worry, plants will have no effect of cold as we are regularly shipping plants without stop with no dead reported, it is more like refrigeration effect and the other ordered item is shrimps. And 2nd reason we just couple of days back sent shrimps to Delhi on customer request with customer's risk and 100% survived, so we cleared all shipments of shrimps for now.

Just properly acclimatize plants/shrimps before adding to your tank so they adjust with new temperature and pH. Remember shrimps act dead but are not dead so do not skip acclimatization step. If they are dead then they will change colour to pink or milky white.

For any dead plants/shrimps just take photo before opening bags and send to us on following URL on immediate notice and do not forget to mention Invoice number:

Its good to know you got the shipment in good condition despite fears of otherwise.

It is blue shrimp only, with time it will change colour, primarily it is stressed due to long journey and its still young in age. When our consignments are reached by plane even black shrimp looks ghost shrimp without any colour and transparent :) with time it start to come in its original colour.

Only worrisome thing was will they arrive alive or not, we sent 5 consignments on same train to Delhi and now all are positive.

Early March 2011, I ordered goods worth
Rs. 2, 000.00 from Aquariums India and I promptly paid through ICICI bank account. Till date I have not even received an acknowledgment email. As it happens the phones belonging to Mr. Jaiswal (the person running this scam) is permanently switched off. IS THERE NO WAY CUSTOMERS CAN GET JUSTICE?

I waited for a month and then posted a complaint here in this section. Then i received a mail sayin I have violated their terms of service( basically their terms of scamming people) . my order is cancelled and my account is deleted from the site. I mailed them back asking them to return my rs 200 or I will pursuade the police to look into the matter. Mine is a nominal amount, but they must be making fortunes from such small contributions. This website MMH is a complete SHAM . Please be aware.

I must appraise you guys for your communication skills and helping nature, your quality of website is exceptional, and the way you provide information about the order is superb.

Take my example, I ordered 2 Plants, Shrimps & Snails. When i ordered those item it was clearly written below the item(as its there in other website rediff, inditimes, e-bay etc) (How many days will it take), also explaining the reason for delay (To deliver a plant, you need to setup a tank, then put seed and then wait for growth), also for fish and other live item(Again you need to find out male and female of the species, then wait for the mood of couple, then wait for the female gets pregnant, then lays its eggs, then finally babies, hurrraaaa, you guys are ready to deliver).

Offcourse these things takes time.

You know what ? I got one japanes website and one indian website.

Poor Japanese took 15 days and Indian took 2 days for live plants. hmmm very bad experience, they also have very bad feed back also on all over net, and yeah one more things i ordered some pump and aqua items from rediff also, those rascals rediff guys wrote it will take 7-15 days to deliver but delivered in 4 days, even see those dogs in aquabynature, they write 7 days, and delivered in 2 days, ahhhhh, what a terrible experience.

So i have a request please don't send those items, since i already got them from other singapore and Indian dealers.

NO NEED TO SEND BACK MONEY ALSO KEEP IT AS FLOWERS OF FUNERAL FROM MY SIDE.

If something they have they will say available, or outofstock, owner communicate personally, and he is a great aquascaper.

Have look at testi then decide.

WOW ... I am so lucky, i have been thinking of buying materials worth 36K from them i just felt that i should have their phone number, so asked live help. Alas, I did not visit this fourm earlier and got duped by them . I was promised a door to door delivery which they claim they do in Mumbai, but now they have sent it to CST railway station and expect me to go and pick it up on half days notice. First they make me wait for 82 days, then call me up and say pick it up from the railway station tomorrow morning. I wasnt in the city and had no option but the let my parcel get thrown away.
The customer service has no number, the live chat never never works and when you do connect with them on their web page, the person is very rude. I wish I had the time to sue them. Hope someone else is doing so.

I should have read these before placing the order on MMH. I placed my order on Saturday 6th April and canceled the same on Monday 8th after getting their email that I will have to go another end of Mumbai to pick my things. This Myhobby.com is a Big Fraudster!. I placed my order on 10th Sept 2019 and its 8th Nov 2019, neither I received any refund nor delivery. I raised multiple tickets to get the status of the order, however no reply received. Somehow I got a reply for them from their Whatsapp number on 24th Sept 2019 on the order that they will dispatch the order, however I have not yet received any order or update from them. I kept on chasing them on whatsapp no, however no response received. This site this pathetic and are fraudster, they only loot the customer with their flashy price...
the excuse they updated on whatsapp status is "Due to dengue malaria and viral outbreak in hydrabad, communications, orders despartch in on hold until further notice".

For some reason even my paid anti-virus detects their website as not secure. Check image!

Also to add they have stuff available on their website which is almost impossible to find anywhere. The manufacturers don't even sell it anymore and these guys have it in stock!! WOW!
