Dear sir / mam,

I am kunal pankaj shah. i am residing in south mumbai since my birth. my communication address is 24/4, parikh niketan. k. m. zaveri road. bhuleshwer. mumbai-400004.

I have 2 feedbacks to give 1st is for parking facilities / rules & 2nd is for toying services in south mumbai area. my experiences are mainly of tardeo traffic division (which is at nana chowk). but these are more or less same with other traffic divisions in south mumbai.

Parking facilities - there are no specific area mentioned as parking zone / no parking zones. because of this, there is always confusion while parking vehicle. this confusion creates chaos for traffic conditions & also wrong parking scenario as one cannot determine whether this is correct parking area or wrong parking area. i suggest if penalty money of wrong parking can be used for marking of parking & non parking zones & vehicle parked outside these zones can only be fined for wrong parking, that would be helpful.

Toying services - following points here are more of complaint against toying services instead of feedback. kindly do the needful to manage it.

1) because of no clear understanding about parking / non parking zones, vehicles toying happens without any pre defined rules.
2) after toying, there is hardly any care taken to mention where this vehicle is being taken. people have to run to different traffic divisions in search of vehicle.
3) toying services are subcontracted to contractors. toying charges (for 2 wheeler) are as high as rs 100 per two wheel vehicle. since it is given to contractor and he will be charged based on no. of vehicle being towed by him, towing of vehicle per day becomes target for his people to complete on daily basis.
4) i have raised rti for correct procedure of toying which says that toying people should wear uniform, they should be well mannered, educated to some basic standard etc and also toying van should have basic safety feature. but i have seen most of these are not followed. i have raised this issue many time to available on duty traffic in charge but they told me to raise complaint as they cant do anything in this matter.

I want to narrate an incident here, one day my vehicle was been towed from charni road station parking area (as per my knowledge, there is no no-parking zone at that place). there was no sign about which traffic division has towed it. i rushed to nearby s k patil traffic division, they didn't had it. "
I rushed to tardeo (nana chowk) traffic division. it was there. it was 11 pm in night & there was no person near tow parked vehicle area, so i was searching my vehicle. after i got my vehicle, i was just checking that there is no damage to it.
Suddenly a drunk man came to me, and shouted at me"how dare u touch vehicle."
I asked," who are u? ".
He told"i am security guard here "
I told"i was just checking condition & since i dint find anyone, i was checking it myself" he was coming on me & abusing me, i got fear that he will hit me in drunk condition. i flee away from there.
Next day when i came to take my vehicle, i inquired about that person & found that he was just a head toying person of a contractor. such toying park conditions are not safe for citizen.

Kindly do the needful.

Regards,
Kunal shah

Not every driver is always at fault. Today i drove my sister's brand new car for the first time, being a sunday, i took it for a short spin to see how it felt and to report to the car dealer of any problem.

The traffic police, whom i consider highway robbers caught me simply because i was not wearing a seat belt. I am a law abiding citizen, its not my fault that the clutch pedal is too far inside and i have to take my seat really upfront to reach it. Due to which the seat belt is falling tad short of its hook and i am forced to not wearing it. I was planning to find a solution with the dealers when they start working after long weekend holiday.

Despite showing to the traffic cops neelima and two more, and expecting them to be helpful to my plight, actually sternly behaved worst than a military officer and without any humanity and my sheer helplessness, fined me. I pleaded with her to give me at least a day to go back to the car dealer with my problem and to rectify it, she became even more agitated.

I believe i should have been left off with a note addressed to the car dealer and/or manufacturer. They could have easily verified from the car papers that it was brand new and should have fined me only if i had done nothing about it even after several weeks. It was my goddam first day!!!

It is good that the mumbai traffic police are being strict, but they should also stop acting illogical, stupid and unreasonable. They should with experience understand who is making excuses and who is genuine. Everybody should follow laws but there has to be certain levels of flexibility as well.

This happened at around 5.45 pm, sunday 4-9-2016, near left turning from sukh sagar to chowpatty near, new yorkers restaurant.

I am noticing that people ride two wheelers without helmet everyday near Peninsula corporate park junction at lower Parel and they don't bother about Polce and Police also does not stop them and fine them.
Really I feel bad that police is not being respected in this country. Infact we should give police part of the fine collected as incentive to them to encourage them to enforce traffic discipline

Only in newspaper we see hefty fines for traffic indiscipline. But we hardly enforce them

In other countries. People get scared of police. But in India we mock at police and fail to give due respect as they also allow indiscipline

In kalina (Santacruz east) market road leading from geeta vihar hotel till air india second colony, cars, bikes, taxis, autos are parked illegally and irregularly which makes life miserable for us to drive or park our cars or bikes whenever we go to the market.

Bikes and cars are permanently parked as if the roads belongs to them which deprive o[censored]s to drive or park our vehicle temporarily even for 15 mins to finish our shopping in the market.

Please take action to regulate the parking and traffic.

            Thank you

              Dear sir/madam,

I reside near the tarapore chowk (Oshiwara, andheri west) and i would like to bring into the light the discrepancy amongst the timings of the traffic lights of this junction.

Unfortunately due to the problematic signal timings (One is green for 2 mins or more and the other foe less then 12 seconds) the commuters often get irritated and cross the light even when it's red.

This causes unnecessary traffic that extends well beyond a kilometre.

Is there any way that this can be rectified. I am more than happy to help in anyway required.

              Please let me know.

              Thanks

Good to see increase in fines related to breaking rules, but your police themselves are reason why pedestriansvbreak signals, i walk toward Tiger gate, ballard estate, the police at RBI signal allow vehicle s even after the signal turns green for pedestrian, so what are you going to do about this, for people to cross the road its hardly 10 seconds, traffic cops keep moving the vehicle as if there are no people to cross the road, especially in morning between 9.30 to 10.30 am when office going people cross to go towards ballard estate. Please do something about this.

The area charkop sector 8 kandivli west has become a place of disaster to live in. Every day there are speed bikers zooming in full speed and loud sound that disturbs every resident in the area. The area having a 90ft wide long road is a field day for these speedsters that have no fear of the law.

The residents consisting of not less than a lac, live a pathetic life of intense noise pollution. The civic authorities and the local police who only give an assurance have never done anything so far. The usual police van that comes once in a way, only collects fine from two wheelers that do not wear a helmet and leave in an hour. We are in a desperate need for a beat office to be stationed at our area to combat the nuisance. The speed breakers have flattened with poor quality of tar that have damaged the former speed breakers.
Request your good self to kindly intervene and help us lead a peaceful life once again.

First of all we are facing this problem from last 7-8 months.
IIT Powai main gate traffic signal time is being extended like anything & is being manually operated which is not a wise step to maintain traffic. Last year same time it was not a problem reaching gandhinagar but this year police is not able to manage traffic. Those who wants to take U turn or persons want to cross road, such vehicles have to wait 10-15 minutes or more due to manual signal control which police does not understand & is not justified. Also it is making huge vehicle waiting line near Hiranandani signal unnecessary, it is leading us 30 minutes to reach from powai lake signal to gandhinagar LBS road bridge junction. Traffic police should inspect the long queue especially in interior roads of powai area how we are struggling to cross the signal.
Resolution: Request to run signal automatically by the actual timing & can control opposite side lane only which has less incoming traffic (i.e. Gandhinagar to powai side), please think wisely.

My name : pratik arvind jain.
Whomsoever in power, please punish and teach them how to behave. They treat us like ants.
This incident happened between 6-6.30 pm on 27/07/2016. Me and my dad were travelling in my car.
Concerned policemen : d. J. Argade (Traffic police)
And a 3star rated policeman : chougule (Who was a complete bully and only passed orders to tow my car by using jammers or some other instruments he called for.)
And in the whole matter they were all very very rude. No respect for the citizen at all. I was thinking whether we work for them or they work for the nation.
I was passing by and i crossed the signal when it was yellow at mira road on mira-bhayander road. Argade stopped me and asked for liscense. I asked him about my mistake and he just told me to give the liscense or else he would tow my car away. After a small conversation he told me i can check the video recorded on the cctv and i agreed to the point that if he shows me my mistake on the cctv i would right away take the punishment whatever it would be. Till here i was very calm and polite but later i had to raise my voice but strictly never abused or disrespected him. But he and the whole team especially mr. Chougule tried bullying me and my dad by fearing me to tow my car away. He only ordered his teammates to lock my car using a jammer. I dont know what was it. After my dad's lot of requests to not to use jammer he agreed to it. They have taken away my liscence, asked me to pay 700/- at kashi-mira rto and then collect the liscence from vadala office.
What kind of behaviour was that. I felt like recording the whole thing but just because my dad feared their bullying, i had to stop my recording. Still i managed to get one and i have posted it.

Mumbai traffic will never improve as mumbai is ruled by wrong people in traffic commissioner position with no experience and no concern for city. Basic traffic laws are not obeyed and people break signal all time and mumbai traffic cops are busy making money on such people and what possibly they can do as they are loaded with burden of traffic with no by law enforcement support. Traffic jcp only sits in office and watch cctv. Rickshaw drivers at so many places are running share passenger business by taking too much money for fare and sometimes not wearing uniforms and police know very well about it and nothing gets done.
If you want to go to bandra kurla complex from bandra station you are charge to death. Andheri same story and bandra west is worst for auto. Traffic police knows all but they do not pay attention we all know why. One common man break red light or on phone by mistake or not wearing helmet then he is not spared but auto person taking 5 people and going in wrong way is spared and that is mumbai traffic laws for you. Auto and taxi go wherever they want to go. Common citizen is harassed but who cares about them.
But by having negative people ruling top position in traffic its mere rhetoric and very slim chances that mumbai situation will improve.
Unless state government takes drastic steps on these issues.
I am glad due to social media i am expressing my concern and voice up to you. I would like to thank face book for giving me this opportunity to speak my mind and fact.
Sad part is mumbai is still in same pathetic condition despite of good highway and more bridges due to growing population as well as government giving blind eye to this beautiful cities traffic issues and these issues have been left up to certain people to handle who are not capable to handle them.

It is difficult for me being Traffic expert in North america and my experience with Traffic to share with Mumbai police with their lack of knowledge in world traffic science. I tried my best with JCP Bharambe to explain few points and my research and study over the years in traffic. But I was not able to put point across as probably I was too intelligent to explain and my level of explanation was at very high level. I must use ground level with them next time.
The Indian Road Situation- Research states that each day 1, 400 new cars are added to the streets of Delhi alone and many more in Mumbai. Add to that the number of buses, autos and other commercial vehicles. Cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai have existed since colonial times, and there has been an exponential rise in their population post-independence. But owing to the pre-colonial infrastructure it’s not possible to give these cities a complete overhaul in terms of road infrastructure and mass transportation. Newer metropolises like Bengaluru and Hyderabad are already riddled with bad traffic. To manage the growing traffic, we need an intelligent traffic system with the help of traffic technology solutions that has already been adopted by various cities across the world.
What is traffic intelligence and how’s the world benefiting from it- Traffic intelligence includes using technology for data collection, reducing congestion on the roads, road safety, road intersection control, sensors, smart signals and more.
Manhattan is seeking to control its traffic situation with the help of Midtown in Motion, a traffic intelligence programmer that has wirelessly controlled traffic controllers installed at intersections. It will provide real time data and relay traffic data to the traffic management center with the help of field sensors, RFID readers and cameras.
Michigan on the other hand is powered by a system called Intellistreets which is a wireless network of dimmable, programmable LED street lighting that offers road safety, traffic detection and energy conservation. The lamp poles are fitted with a microprocessor each so that they can operate independently and can route around a damaged unit. They also have cameras and sensors to monitor traffic flow. These LED lights can be programmed to show traffic warnings, directions to large crowds or advertisements.
Now you tell me how I am going to implement all this Mumbai traffic and having ignorant and people with no experience in Commissioner chair.
                            Jai Hind.
Mumbai city need car pull and practically all rush hour time on major arteries minimum 4 people should travel. I found solution with my north american traffic expertise and i spend lots of time in mumbai explaining this to people during my visit in mumbai. Finally i reached cp bharambe and my journey ended their with negative and arrogant attitude. As my solution for rush hour was tossed about car pull telling me how tata gm will travel. Besides i was also requesting him that all transport truck should do deliveries in night and we need to create by law enforcement department of civilian who will support cops during rush hour but cp bharambe was in no mood to listen as he is from nagpur on deputation and who cares if people waste all their life in rush hour. I also told cp bharambe that it is creating bad effect on environment and he said its not my issue. I tried telling that mumbai has thousands of abandoned vehicles and if we have by law department they will help in towing that will have great impact on rush hour. I was willing to stay with my own will and help mumbai traffic police to set up this and dcp chavan traffic police north zone was in favor but cp bharambe thought me as an .

                                Dear traffic police commissioner,

The incident i am narrating happened with me today morning between 9.30 am & 10.00 am opposite babulnath mandir, near girgaum chowpatty.

I was on my way to the office and walking towards wilson college. i crossed first half of the road and was standing on the road divider waiting for the traffic to stop.

The officer on duty standing on the opposite side of the road signaled the traffic to stop. while the cars in the two lanes near to him stopped, there was one car in the third lane which blatantly ignored officer's signal and kept on driving.

I had barely taken two steps when i saw this speeding towards me. i stood there not knowing what to and the car screeched to halt one foot away from me.

I looked at the officer and gestured meaning what was happening and did he see what happened. the officer said he had signalled the cars to stop. on reminding him that the car standing one foot away from me had not heeded to his command and he should confiscate his licence he said what the driver did was was normal.

I am appalled by the officer's attitude. i can't help but doubt the intention of the officer. this is the story of one officer, i am sure there are hundreds like him in mumbai. mumbai's traffic is already damned nationally and internationally. these kind officers only help put the final nail in the coffin.

I request you to please teach your officers moral values first and traffic rules later.

I represent all those distressed pedestrians, who feel they have lost all their right to walk on the road 'in favour of' rouge two wheeler and car drivers.

My name is satyanand gaitonde i was born in mumbai and i feel that i should share what i feel about my city. My city was like heaven during my childhood. Clean roads, less pollution and less traffic till 1980 but then things started changing over the years my city became polluted and dirty. I left mumbai in 1996 for canada as i got migrated but my heart used to break every time for my city i used to travel on vacation.

In order to do better and change outlook of my city i worked on traffic proposal by meeting numerous people who have traffic expertise all over the world and i came up with a solution that i think could be of benefit to my city.

I traveled all the way from canada with great solution for mumbai traffic as i had great experience with police service here and i meet dcp chavan he understood my idea and took me to joint cp bharambe after discussion but when i meet him i was completely disappointed with cp bharambe as man had so much ego and he thought i am some stupid person he gave me 15 minutes and when i told him idea about car pulling he gave very irresponsible statement saying if you do car pull how tata general manager will travel. I left his office with no hope and came back to canada then i contacted traffic commissioner vardhane and told him, all its 3 months since then i am waiting to do something for city but no one is there for me. Its a tragedy of our country that they dont want intelligent experienced person like me. I will fight my issue as cp has limit for his post but my agenda for my city does not. Jai hind.

I was told to wait in CP Bharmabe office for hours before I could see him. Canteen was closed and I was waiting without food or water but it was not worth as I would have slightest idea about CP Bharambe attitude and he has no feelings for our Mumbai City as he is only there to complete his term. When he promoted Tata general Manager that I time I understood where he stands and besides I studied his career profile and CP Bharambe has no traffic background or rather extensive knowldge in traffic field so I did not even discuss By law enforcement with him. DCP Chavan was also disappointed and gave me his apology for wasting my time with CP Bharambe.
Mumbai Traffic Issues and our system
After I had disappointed meeting with CP Bharambe Traffic I decided to meet Shiv Sena Vibhag Parmukh Sakpal Bhau as through him I thought of meeting Diwakar Raote who is Transport Minister. Bhau gave me time to see him in his office evening 6 pm in Girgaon. I traveled all the way from Dahisar and waited 2 hours in his office neither he showed up nor he picked up my call. I meet then activist Rishi Agarwal who told me Mr Gaitonde I understand your feelings for Mumbai city and I feel same but you are banging your head on the wall as end of the road in system you will meet people like CP Bharambe who will not let you do anything and will not care about you. Rishi Agarwal also had similar experience with CP Bharambe now after that 3 months I followed with Transport Commissioner Vardhane and then two week before I texted him he promised to get back to me and its two weeks now. They always say there is light at end of tunnel I hope I find that light soon for our Mumbai Traffic. Jai Hind.
We Mumbaikars practically lost hope because of these outsiders as my entire group who was hopeful on me to bring solution for Mumbai is disappointed. In past we used to have Traffic CP from Mumbai and city was in better position. Now we get people with attitude and ignorance really sad to put up with such people. On queens road there are abandon vehicles I told my friends wrote my name on it as it was full of dust and week later it was still there. My discussion with Bharambe did not go beyond and further as he tossed me out in 15 minutes by highly underestimating my potential as he has misconception about his own ability. As Mumbaikar we cant even express ourself as people in ruling chair dont care and taxpayers money is going for toss. Our traffic is like hell as before in the meantime but who cares. By putting 10 CCTV in office person doesn't get smarter go on road and see how people suffer. On the way back with DCP Chavan agreed to my points but said Gaitonde I am helpless I tried but CP Bharambe is not co operating. We will keep our battle ongoing. Its high time Mumbai need solution as our traffic situation is dyre. Bharambe will complete term and go back to Nagpur but what about my city Mumbai where we live. Traffic was like hell on Western Express and I showed DCP Chavan what I was trying to say but CP Bharambe was deciding factor and he did not care.
CP Bharambe should not waste tax payers money

Continuing with my story further it is harsh words but I must say after my experience with CP Bharambe I realized that IPS officer should not be coming and working in Metro town specially if they don’t belong to that town and if they are doing traffic as neither they know city nor they know local chemistry. CP Bharambe treated me with attitude and arrogance forgetting he is government servant and he is answerable to tax payers besides CP Bharambe do not have any traffic background which I realized after reading his profile it is clear that he is wasting tax payers money. Its been three months since I had meeting with him and Mumbai lost progressive step and we are lagging months behind as we Mumbaikar would have been way ahead in game. While Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is struggling with traffic and trying to work solution for his city by using like even and odd number for cars it is real tragedy for Mumbaikar that they had an experience Mumbaikar who cares and has traffic as well as By Law experience but he is helpless because of inefficient and ignorant CP like Bharambe and it is serious because Mumbai is in dyer state of traffic and it can’t be seen and realized by these outsiders as they don’t care. I feel for Mumbai as I was grown up here and I would like to make my city like heaven that is my dream. Jai Hind.

Sir i am a daily best bus commuter from s v road bandra (w) to dadar tt. during evening peak hours daily when my bus reaches sitladevi mandir, from there to reach kohinoor square (opp. sena bhavan) and take a left from kohinoor square to go to dadar tt which should not take more than 10 minutes, it takes 30 to 40 minutes daily. reason being the left turn signal is closed and kept on yellow continuously and the traffic havaldars manouver the traffic on their own whims and fancies. the rest of the traffic going towards shivaji park, elphinston and traffic from shivaji park to dadar is cleared properly and continuously by the traffic havaldars. they just donot leave the traffic from kohinoor square towards dadar tt for 30 minutes. this is done on purpose to keep the vip road (that is shivaji park road) clear from traffic jam. yesterday too my bus reached near kohinoor square at 7pm and was stationery till 7.30pm just to take a left turn to go to dadar tt. please think if someone has to urgently reach a hospital or some emergency what would happen then. a common man who travels either by bus or in an urgency takes a taxi his taxi fare will shoot up by rs.40/- to rs.50/- over and above the regular fare because of this traffic jam. if by chance a bus driver requests the traffic havaldar to allow the traffic to take the left turn, then god help that bus driver. the havaldar will blast the driver and then on purpose still not leave the left side traffic. request you to please look into this matter and stop this harassment by the traffic havaldars.

                                      Thanking you,

                                      Dolly bulsara

Crossing Chakala cigarette factory signal is like worst nightmare. It is a 4 way junction. no one follows signal here. car driver, rickshaw's, taxi, private buses, BEST buses, tempo, trucks no one follows signal here. They all are risking their lives. also, pedestrians who cross the roads, they are at high risk. there is a requirement of traffic police atleast from 7am - 10pm on the road going to Bamanwada and Sahar road one end going towards Sahar and other end towards Andheri station.

please do take it seriously. everyone's life is at stake.
