Dear Sir/Madam,

This is to bring to your notice about the pathetic quality of service offered by one of your authorized service centers COMPUTER INFO. TECH PVT. LTD. Pune. 4 months back I visited this outlet as my laptop Acer Aspire 5100 was having over-heating problem. The service center personnel told me that they will have to get a new Temperature IC to fix this issue and they will have to reload the OS. Total cost would be 3000 INR. I agreed to this as I needed my laptop urgently. I was promised that laptop will be given to me in 4 days time. It took 12 days. When I got the laptop, CD-ROM, Function Keys and 2 USB ports were not working. I am pretty sure that this was not the condition in which I had given this laptop to your people. I called up these guys to enquire what they have done to my machine and response was very rude.
I was out-of-station these 4 months and I visited them today again to get those earlier issues fixed. No one seem to recall anything and there was no info in their database (Not that I expected it to be there). I have asked them to reload the OS in one of the drives. There is some lady there who keeps on insisting that I buy a new CD-ROM and a new Anti-virus and many such things. When I told her that I am not in a position to buy them now, her reply was shocking, 'Then you will get your laptop with viruses'. I am sure there is no virus in my laptop. They plan to plant one in my machine if I don't by an Anti-virus from their shop. This is ridiculous. I hope something can be done about such people. Its not possible for every individual to go to a Consumer court.

I will advise everyone to think twice before they plan to buy an Acer laptop as service quality is exceptionally bad.

Do not Buy acer in INDIA

Acer service @ India is not poor but worse, I gave a My machine on 9th Sep 2010 and till date 8th Oct has not been rectified. Not only me I found many of them has the same status sa you see on the forums.

my case id is[protected]. They are keeping the laptop for a month and still not rectfied.!
email to their custom cell at acer.[protected]@intarvo.com will have no response.
There support no[protected] will answer after 15 min, and again will not give proper reason.
DO NOT BUY ACER Atleast in INDIA, There After sales service is horrible beyaond Words.

    Dear Sir,

    I had purchased a acer laptop Model Number PM5720 through the Electronics Corporation of India (ELCOT) scheme for students on 24th Aug 2008. After using the system, I found that the battery power is draining very fast and does not stay for more than half an hour. On 12/07/2009 I approched the customer support service centre "Ever Excellant Services", Kodambakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, who after checking the system have said that the battery is not working and hence they will replace the same as the laptop is covered under warranty within one week. But since then, they have only one response for me, "the battery has to come from Bangalore, so please wait".

    Here I wish to say the the distance from chennai to bangalore would be around 400 KMs and means of transport between the two cities is excellent. Only the way things are handled by Acer's support people are not as Excellant as they claim to be.

    I have been waiting for the battery for more than one month. After investing so much money on the lap top for my education, I am unable to carry it to school and I am heavly affected because of the behaviour of Acer's support people.

    I also feel that may be Acer is ignoring my complaint because I had bought the same through Student's scheme of Tamil Nadu Government. Or I don't know what the problem is with Acer.

    Please ask the Excellent Services to Worst Services, Chennai.

    My battery does not get charged, but I was recommended by acer technical support team to upgrade the Bois, the doubth I have is that will the upgradation of bois will effect any of the functions of my
    Model No : Acer One. Since I belive That upgradation of Bios is related to the ROM of the machine so
    Once upgraded I will not be able to Downgrade it.

    I also have similar problem with ACER Laptop. I purchased the laptop model AS5738G on 12 Sep 09 at Delhi, paying over 40Grands. By 16 Oct I found the battery was not charging, On 22 Oct 09 the laptop was given to ACER service center at JANAKPURI. Now after 15 days thety say the received a battery from Bangalore as replacement which is OLD and also non functional. This is what Great ACER is... and they hope they will survive fleecing / cheating people... God help them!!!

      They have given a warranty for three years.Now they say we give warranty only for the pixels not for the crystal.And asking me to pay around 5000rs for the repair it has only 6 months i have purchased.Please help me how to file compliant in consumer forum.

          I bought my daughter for college a top of the line Acer Aspire laptop. The first year, everything was good. Starting year two, things started to malfunction. First the camera (trip one), then the heat sink/fan (trip two). Since my extended warranty was about to run out, I wanted to have the left side USB ports replaced (not working) and DVD drive replaced. Trip three yielded a non working USB ports upon return. Another round trip to install current drivers for the USB ports at ACER.They must thing I am stupid. Another boot up, STILL yielded no USB. I suggested back on trip three that the motherboard needed replacement. Back to Texas again. New motherboard this time and new battery. Thought I was done. Five days later-dead-nothing-nada. Back to Texas again. ANOTHER motherboard with new keyboard and battery. I have to be done now, right? 10 weeks with out my laptop so far, and thousands of FEDEX miles traveled . I gave my delivery guy a big smile yesterday with my laptop in hand. NOW the battery will not charge. ACER tells me that the battery is NOT the problem. I will TELL you the problem. ACER techs are sending out faulty machines without repairing them professionally. I had my lawyer draft a letter demanding a current top of the line new replacement laptop with the same features I had before. Let's see if ACER live up to their name and takes care of me and stand behind their products.

          My laptop got lines on its display and took the piece to get serviced by the authorised service centre situated in cochin - edapally. My cd drive also didn't read dvd's written by me so i mentioned it in complaints. Firstly i have been used to sell and service PC's so i know the reasons for the complaints and asked the prices on local stores. Now the game starts after 2 days i got a call that the display is not working. As the cutoff switch of my laptop was a little loose it happened once before and i correpted it myself. I asked them whether the laptop is running or not and they said it is running so i told the factor of lcd cutoff switch to them and they told they will check. Then i told about the firmware update of the dvd drive as it is the reason for the complaint as i used to rectify it myself for the customers but while searching for the firmware in net the cd manufacturer is telling the firmware could only be gotten from acer itself as the model UJDA760 can't be bought from outside as its only sold with acer laptops (thats why i have to ask the service guy for the firmware).The most funny thing is the service guy is asking how one can update a cd drive's firmware he hasn't even heard of thing like that even a fresher in harware know about this. After 1 day i made a call to them them and they are telling its the problem of motherboard and it has to be rectified from bangalore. On the next day i went there and on morning they told they have sended the motherboard to bangalore and i went to the service centre on evening and asked to call the service guy and he told he has send it to bangalore. I explained the things to how rectify things and whats the real problem is and its not with motherboard, while speaking he told me to wait a minute and got inside. Now he was coming with my motherboard ( think man he told he has send the motherboard to bangalore ) .I told him to fuse the cutoff switch (that will remove the cutoff feature though for the least i don't have to bother about it anymore). After that i told how to update firmware of cd drives and he is asking the ways (he didn't know any thing of this). After 2 days that today they call me and told the display is now working and they made it by drying the laptop motherboard (am i a dump i know about pc's man) and they told the display lines is the problem of lcd and it will took 13500 rs to be get rectified (outside price of lcd on local stores is 6000 for chinese lcd and 9000 for original acer lcd). Then i asked about battery they told 5500 rs (outside price of battery on local stores is 3000 for chinese and 4000 for acer original). Now the comedy is the laptop is in the same situation as i have given the girl is saying "Sir the service charge is written on the slip (ie given to me on the day of submission of laptop)"
          I told i will come tomorrow and hang up the phone. Now here guys the service charge written is 750 rs. why should i pay the charge as they haven't rectified any problems on asking for firmware they are saying they asked there senior authorities and they didn't know about it or don't have it. and also they have made my cutoff switch messy due to careless removal of panels ( though i admire it was loose and should have told them to take care while working with panels). Tomorrow i am going there and going to have a written letter over all procedures and moving it legally.
          I have to service my laptop which showing LCD erros

          i am the same guy who posted this complaint the whole drama is settled by just removing the 750 rs. head of acer kerala one buddy name vinod got into act and checked all thing. Even he also told me that the firmware couldn't be gotten. For everyone's knowledge lenova is giving firmware for the same model dvd drive to there customers.

          Vanaf 30 september 2009 probeer ik mijn Acer Aspire One ter reparatie aan te bieden via tel.[protected]. Helaas moet ik konstateren DAT mijn telefoonkosten, heb al 12 keer gebeld, behoorlijk oplopen maar het resultaat is nul komma nul. Veel beloftes worden gedaan, maar ik wacht nog steeds. Ook zijn de mensen die ik aan de lijn krijg slecht Verstaanbaar en geven de indruk DAT ze niet weten waar ze het over hebben. Ik heb al een RMA-nummer maar krijg geen ups-label en geen telnummer van de Desbetreffende koerier. Ik vind DAT er een onderzoek moet komen naar het personeel op de klantenservice en Tevens wil ik mijn geld terug voor het Onnodig Moeten bellen naar 0900 nummers. Mijn laatste stap is dat ik nu verwacht van Acer DAT ik binnen 24 uur geholpen wordt, is dit niet Het geval dan acht mij De noodzaak mij te wenden tot de klachtengeschillencommissie en daarnaast Radar in te schakelen dan de barre service van Acer.

          I had purchased acer laptop 3 years back and after 5 6 months i was not able to see the screen properl. The screen used to be full white and i had to restart the whole pc. Recently I had given it to reliable computers in vile parle mumbai and they said that the problem was with the IC and they charged 5500 from me telling that they have replaced the ic with a new one which i dont think so. it was fine for 2 3 days. then later i was facing the same problem. I talked on the phobe with them. they wanted to take my laptop gain but i refused as i dont trust them anymore. I wanted them to repair in front of me which they refused. I need a resolution for this as i feel they have cheated me. I want strict action to be taken against them.

          acer laptop 4736z — i'm just fooled by them

          my name is githesh,im a health worker,i bought a new laptop last year march 1st.there for the warranty of my product ends this month.now im really fed up because that the laptops mother board got a serious complaint after 13 days from the end day of warranty,i think that this is a way of them to sell laptops..too bad...sir i am a below average man and i don't have enough money to pay.please help me sir only 13 days are over please i beg you sir

            You are not supply red hat software. You send your server engineer with red hat software during the date 27th july, 2009 to 30th july, 2009 with due date, otherwise I have complaint directly government of maharashtra.

              I have purchase acer aspire laptop in may, 2009. Its giving blue screen error frequently. I am fedup with this laptop service given by you. your customer care says me that to provide error massege to him but blue screen comes for a second and my laptop reboots so how can I provide you error massage.
              Pls help me to rectify this problem on priority besis asap.

              change sata mode from AHCI to IDE in BIOS for XP ok
              during reboot press F8 then u will be directed towards the setup screen, there u set the auto restart when error occurs to no.
              After that u ll be able to see the error screen.
              yeah i have the same problem,
              i have just bought it 2 months ago. my OS is xp
              i have set the sata mode into IDE but still always get blue screen.

              pls help me to solve this problem pls...

              Hi,
              I have bought Acer Laptop 4736 - S. No. lxpg40c0279292d4f21601 (on 14th Oct, 2009 from Micro Sun, super bazaar, Moradabad). Within a week, it was not booting. After 2 hour, it started normally.
              I was embarrassed when I had to give important presentation. It was not starting. Any how I managed and after few hours it started normally. I called up (3rd November) customer care and they asked to visit service centre. At service centre (Ghaziabad), they said that motherboard had some problem. Service centre collected my laptop. I kept following up with service centre for next 22 days. At last they received motherboard from Bangalore and replaced (25th November, 2009) the same. Next day it was not showing any sign of life. It was completely silent. Again I had contacted to service centre, they expressed same problem. I again asked customer care. This time reply was same… ‘Our service centre would take care’. I asked to replace this laptop (Acer Laptop 4736) as it had manufacturing defect. But customer care and service centre both denied and told that they are helpless. They could only provide warranty.
              After all this I searched email ids of Acer people on the internet. Few ids were [protected]@acer.co.in, [protected]@acer.co.in, [protected]@acer.co.in, [protected]@acer.co.in, [protected]@acer.co.in). I got response that somebody would connect me. After two days, I was asked to send contact details. I shared through mail. Nobody contacted me next day. After that I marked CC to Jai Shankar, Director Sales, Acer India ([protected]@acer.co.in) and Sudhir Goel, GM, Acer India ([protected]@acer.co.in). Now Customer care Manager Head Mr. Amrish Mahajan ([protected]@acer.co.in) contacted me. I simply requested to return full amount with a letter stating that ’Acer was unable to provide defect free product and service’. They offered me to replace Laptop with one month of extended warranty. I refused to this and asked my money back with apology letter or replace laptop with compensation as my brother had faced problem. He is an MBA student and it was basically purchased for his study. He missed few presentations and that was big loss. At last, Acer returned (12th Dec, 2009) the money without any Apology letter and took back laptop (Acer Laptop 4736).
              This shows there lethargic and disgusting approach. Acer people don’t support their customer and when they caught with mistakes, they simply escape. You would be tortured mentally and physically. Now I hope this cheque would be realized. I would suggest – Do not buy Acer Products. I have shared the mail ids so that if anybody facing such problem can use these ids.
              If some responsible Acer people read this review, kindly think upon that how would you survive with such product, service and behavior?

              I was planning to buy this Laptop but after reading this blog, now i will go for other better brand.

              Acer Aspire 4736 — Laptop issue

              I have purchased a Acer Spire 4736 laptop on 28th of july 2009.In last week of September i got an issue that the system was restarting with a message physical memory dump,ad it happens again and agan,due to that i cannot perform any task properly.
              I have visited service center("Cluster Infotech,the only service center in Hyderabad) in 1st week of October.And up to now i have submitted my laptop to cluster infotech 3 times for the same issue.
              Due to visiting again and again a use to loose most of my valuable time as well as money.

              And this is due the faulty product by Acer,and acer is resonsible for this.

                I strongly feel that neither any bank can stop a person to open a Bank a/c in its branch nor it can take any action on its own for a mere deposit of Rs. 5xxx.xx.
                What needs to be done is to be aware. Everyone o[censored]s in India knows that an interview costs nothing. Yes its known that many a times, the company pays for the travel, but that is also for an experienced professional.

                  1. I purchased a ACER ASPIRE 4530 laptop from CROMA, Banglore on 9th May 2009
                  2. After a week I start facing problem with MIC and CAMERA
                  3. On 23rd of June I register a online complaint with ACER regarding my problem
                  4. On 24th June I went ACER service center “Compherals”
                  5. They kept my laptop for so many days and given me back on 7th July 09 without problem solved, they told me that the replace all the important parts of laptop like motherboard, mic, CD ROM etc. but unable to resolve the problem….
                  6. Now till date I m with the same problems MIC and CAMERA both….
                  7. Because of that I already lost my two important IT projects and going to lost another one….

                  Acer — Aspire 4530 Laptop problems

                  I bought an Acer laptop (Aspire 4530) two months ago (22 Jul 09). I have faced a lot of problems and it has already been to the service center 2 times and still the problem has not been fixed. Customer care asks me to call the service center and the ask me to call them. I have spent my money and I doubt my decision about acer.

                  The time and date of the laptop changes in BIOS after I shut it down or hibernate. I registered a complaint and went to the service center and they said that the battery contacts were not proper and they have fixed it. It still wasn't fixed. Then I had to re-open the case and this time they changed the motherboard. After getting it back from them, I tried it on all the MS OS which are in market (XP, Vista, 7). The problem persists on each of them. I am working in technology field and hence I can see that the problem is in the H/W as the BIOS time and date changes.

                  Service center people say that they have changed the board and that's the most they can do. Customer care people say that I need to contact service center. This is a new laptop. I think with a new laptop having so many problems, this piece should be replaced.

                      Even i got the mail fro mthe same id.

                      though not such a lengthy mail, but it says that my Resume has been selected.

                      When I tried to find out about any company of this Name, i could not fine any on TimesJobs.

                      I too beleive that there is some Golmal in this mail.

                      My Question is why TimesJobs is not taking any action on such Fraud mails/ companies.
                      (as i received this mail from [protected]@timesjobs.) n if at all they are not at all aware of this, how do Our (job seekers) ids are leaked throuh the Timesjobs.

                        Hello
                        I am a user of acer laptop. I bought it 11 months ago. within 6 months it's speakers started creating trouble. I approached the service center chandigarh and got it repaired. later on I found the LCD screen a little loose but could not establish the fault myself.
                        once again I appproached the center for some other fault I was told that The screws holding the LCD were broken and the fault lied on us. But we din't get it repaired anywhere else instead of the service center chandigarh.
                        Now they are refusing for the repair of same.
                        I mailed my complaint twice to acer's mail id but there is no reply till now.
                        what to do now. I don't understand.
                        kindly help me in this matter.

                          Dear Sir/ Madam,

                          I have bought Acer Laptop in june 2007 from kanpur. While Buying the Laptop i was given1 Year International Warranty & then i had extended my warranty upto 2 years.

                          then now i have a problem in my LCD screen (3-4 white spots on screen ) and when ever i go to service centre they refused my complaint and sayid that this problem is not considered in warranty but if this will not come in warranty then what will come in it plz tell me this ;because know i m totaly harresed with my laptop and the problems overcome by it time to time.

                          (I have my Laptop in Warranty Period & my care pack is also with me &a copy of noms and conditions of acer india, in which this is mentioned that only breakage of screen or damaged by pressure will not considered in the extended warranty) then plz tell me the right way and give me the proper clearification of my problem. reply what should i do. Where should i go and ask for help . I cant go to service centre and fight .

                            my name is Abhishek pandey, i had bought a acer laptop on 22-06-07.
                            then after completion of 1 year ihad extended my warranty to 2years more .
                            now there is 3to4 white spots on LCD screen and they are not providing me the service.
                            and whenever i go to them they diffuse my regards and say to me that this lcd spots are not in our warranty.

                              Dear Sir,

                              I am having one Acer Extensa 4620Z Intel pentium Lap top. A couple of its key buttons have come out. I took my Laptop to your authorised service centre at Jaipur. They have advised me to get the whole key board changed as the buttons are not replaceable or sell the same to the company and buy a new one.
                              I am extremely sorry for the advice given to me by your authorised service centre as I have been using laptops for the last 8-10 year and have not come accross such a defect in the laptop.
                              Sir, I am a student doing my MBA II year and it is beyond my means to replace it at my will. I am tech savy and have been using lap top with utmost care and it is peculiar that such a defect has cropped up. I therefore request that the key bottons be replaced or replaced immediately. I shall be thankful if I hear from you withour delay.

                                  whenever i login google and try to search it shows a message like google error forbidden.i talked with customer care service from where i have taken internet connection but he suggested me to talk at acer customer care.

                                    Gave laptop with 1GB RAM and 160 GB HDD for service. While returning they gave 256 MB less RAM and 30GB HDD. As we were in hurry to go abroad we did not check the specification at stores.

The wify and sound suddenly stops working and this creats problem in working.                                       I Brought a Acer Mini Laptop from Spencer Plaza, and took into my house but immediately it was not working ( on the Same day), then i took it to the service center they informed us, Motherboard IC's are dry its purely Manufacturing defect, after that finally they repaired it and gave to me (Didn't Replaced)

                                        Dear sir,
                                        I purchased an ACER ASPIRE 5920 in august 2007 from PROLAB COMPUTERS SECTOR 16 FARIDABAD.Its still in the warranty period. I have this problem that my laptop shows display only at few orientations of screen, only few screen angles .At rest of angles i cant see anything at the screen. I gave my computer thrice for repair to above said shop, they took it to the setvice center in lajpat nagar delhi.But inspite of all this the problem has not been solved .I am just fed up giving my laptop again and again for repair and even after that no improvement has be done by them.service centre people do smthing and my laptop works properly for 1 week and then back to display problem.Help me what to do.I think the company gave me a defective product .what can be done in this situation now.
