We relocated to a different flat within the same apartment complex and wanted to shift our Airtel DTH connection. We raised the request with the call center and they told us that the shifting would be done in 3 days. Anyhow, no one turned up after 3 days and after few more reminders an engineer called me at 10:00 am that he will be at our place at 11:30 AM. I waited for him and he kept giving me some excuse or the other on why he was getting delayed. Finally since I was getting late to go to work, I left for work and asked my elderly parents to get the installation done. The engineer finally turned up and installed the dish in the middle of the balcony without any regard to the asthetics of where the dish should be put up. When my parents complained that the dish should have been put in the side, he flatly refused and was very rude in his behavior. Also, he charged Rs 375 whereas I was told that the expense for the installation would be Rs 250.
I contacted the call center again and the person at the call center was after some coaxing agreed to get this fixed. Now, another engineer comes to our place and says that he will charge Rs 400 for shifting the dish to a different location. On telling him that we have already pais Rs 375 for shifting once, this engineer then tells me to contact the same engineer who had come to install the dish. I check my phone records and found that the phone no of the person who had come earlier was t he same as the one who had come second time. On telling this to the engineer, he became bellergent and started asking for the name of the person who had come to install. Of course, I do not keep track of the workers who come to do installations and such at my place. On insisting that he should come and fix it as I had been assured by their call center that it would be fixed. This person turned abusive on phone and started threatening me. He also flatly refused and asked me to complain to the call center if I would like.
I get a feeling that the service operations of these operators are run by a bunch of rowdies who have no fear of the company (perhaps because the company is paying them peanuts), I think having such people visit our residences while we are away at work is a security threat as well for our families.
This is to share my bad experience and caution everyone about engaging with Airtel DTH service.

I had called your Customer Care regading your tarrif plan of Rs49, I have Already existing a plan of SMS package in which Rs2 deduct and there is 1 paise SMS, I specificically asked your Exicuteve If I have one plan with me can I take another Plan, He told me you can use together this plan, I asked twice or thrice can i use both Plans together he said YES..!!!When I Haven activate your tarrif Plan Of Rs49 on 06/12/2008, the service of SMS package has been deactivated from my number, I called your Customer Care divison regarding the same & get the revert that I didn't do any conversation regarding SMS pack..
Please look after this & Update me for the sameASAP.
