I have recharged my number [protected] on[protected] with 199 rupees for which I got 2gb data for 1 month and I started surfing Internet normally and suddenly I got a message on my phone saying "you have charged 155rs for using 155mb of data" and my account balance which was about 230 rs. Deducted and left just 9 rupees instead of having an active data pack. I got shocked and called your customer care about 4 times but each time they said your problem is noted but they never gave any satisfactory solution. They started to cut the call saying your call is forwarding to senior officials and now if I try calling your customer care my call is not even connecting, they are cutting it without connecting. This is really very bad and disappointing services by airtel.

18th April 2013,

i am using airtel broadband and wifi modem model is 450 TC 2,
i was using this from January 2013, on 18th i had problem with wifi modem that not able to connet to my laptop and desktop( has wifi). I called customer care and they said connect through cable from modem and we will guide you how to solve. When person who has came to install they did not provide any cable to connect. i asked customer care executive they didnt give any thing then how do i connect, they replied sorry sir, you need to buy from outside and call us.

Finally i got cable and connected from modem and called customer care, they ask to wait online, 10 minuted gone( 50 paise per minute), they came back online and simply said sorry, technical persons are all not available right now and register complaint now, tomorrow our technician will come and solve ( complaint number is[protected].

19th April 2013,

Person called morning at 09.45am. i said 10-12 power cut in our area so kindly come after 12. they came at 12.15 but power not turned yet unfotunnate. then ask to bring laptop to solve and promised to come back on 1.30. I was waiting at the same time with laptop(permission from office). but person came around 2.45PM. technician mr. ragavan has tried to solve and he explained this model can be connected with firmware for selected wifi systems ( can not connect with mobiles). Even though he didnt solve this issue which is with existing systems.
meanwhile i called customer care by land line and i requested to change this model modem which is useless and not fulfilling wifi purpose. they forwarded call to escalation team. they said it is not possible and i felt that i did mistake to bought from airtel. then i requested to cancel my connection since i got cheated from airtel. Please note i didnt choose model. now they are saying this model has no option to connect all wifi systems. escallation team promised they solve this by changing this modem and gave phone call to technician who came. Technician said the not possible to change ( because they are outsourced party for airtel)
technician excused for 30 minitues that he bring one more person to solve this issue.

evening 7PM i called that technician and he promised to come once that person available. they did not turned up.

20th April 2013,

I called again customer care and i said everything happened. They apologized as usual and they promised that they give call back and give status about the same.
no one called regarding this.

21st April 2013,

technician called from airtel and i repeated the same 10-12 power cut. they came around 2.30PM. they came solve the firmware updation. i refused that and i called customer care i again i conveyed ever thing, i was shocked with their reply from Mr.Manikandan customer care executive, he said you did not buy from airtel sir, you bought from our agency, so you have call that agency who provided the same. i got irritated and tired to say again and again. since they are saying firmware is not available to connect mobile phones. i told them airtel has cheated me hence i don't want to be a customer of airtel hereafter even in digital tv.
Again i called customer care in evening, one more shock from them they said your complaint has been closed by today and what it says that firmware updation not available hence complaint has been closed.

SINCE MY PROBLEM NOT SOLVED.

Already 4 days gone.

HELP ME TO TAKE DECISION ( I do not want 450 TC 2 Model)

Airtel Broadband Connection — cheating in service

Hi, am venkat from hyderabad

I took an airtel broadband connection in begumpet branch of hyderabad. my connection no is [protected] when am taking i asked the speed of your network, they told that we are providing network speed of 238 kbps. but now am getting a worse service from them. they are not even proving 10 kbps speed also ...

when i use to open any website thru the airtel broadband it will take minimum of 15 minutes ... to open the page ...

i spoke to the customer care of airtel broad band services for 10 times every time they registering my complaint giving ID no for my complaint thats also ... they are not even responding to the complaints..
worse service provider ... don't trust their words ... be care full while your taking a broad band connection

Bharti Airtel — Cheating by Airtel Broadband

I have applied for Airtel Broadband Connection on 20th June 2009 against application no. BA 0381855 through your executive Mr. Jasni ( Mob. No. [protected]) with the terms of providing connection within 7 days of application. After the expiry of said time, I tried to contact him several times, but he didn't pick my call. Then I informed the same with your Customer Care against complaint no.21460490 and informed that it'll be done in another 7 days and provide me the mobile no. of Mr Praveen (Mob. No.[protected]) stating that he is the authorised person to do the needful. I contacted him over the phone and told me that within 2 days he will give the connection. But he didn't pick my call after that. Then I contacted Mr. Jasni, he also informed me that within 2 days he will provide the connection and he gave me the mobile no. Mr. Sunil (Mob. No. [protected]) and he has given me the dead line os Sat 7 pm (ie, 11th June 2009). But I didn't get the connection till now. He is not picking my call at all. I between that on 7th June 2009 again I made complaint regarding this against the complaint no.21773704, and they informed me that it will be solved in 24 hours and it will be updated to me. But i didin't get even single call from your side and I am the loser here too.

I was using another broad band connection and it is disconnected from 27th june 2009 with the expectation that I will get the connection by 27th June 2009. Because of your negligence I made a financial loss of Rs 25000/-, for wich your are the only person responsible. It is not a small amount for me. Now it is your responsiblity to compensate my financial loss.

I would reqest you to look into this matter and compensate my losses as early as possible and get me back my installation charges with interest, otherwise I'll go for legal action against each and every people involed in this cheating.

Expecting favourable reply from your side

Airtel Broadband — Cheating to the customers

Hi,

I have applied for the airtel broadband connection through one of their executive. They have collected money for giving the connection. Finally they said it is not feasilble. I have asked at the begining it self whether the connection is feasible or not, they said it is feasible and now they are saying it is not feasible. Airtel people wasted my valuable 15 days time. If they said at the begining i would have gone for other service providers. Please take necessary action on Airtel to handle this situation.

Thanks
Satish
hi! i am using airtel broadband bt its causing many problems like its speed, overbilling, sometimes modem doesnt work and no one from the customer care is resolving my request for it neither they are cancelling my connection .paid rs.500 via cheque which is not reflecting anywhere moreover now they do not providing me the phone service so as to call others and registering complaints by calling customer care.please disconnect my connection and take whatever need to b pay for disconnecting the connection and resolving the a/c. till now everything is paid..acc. to company norms and terms and conditions.

Airtel Broadband — Wrong promise made by Airtel and Cheated

Hi,

I have asked for a new broadband connection with Airtel. As per my application form dated 26/09/2009, i had applied for the 2Mbps 799 plan. This was promised by the sales rep who sold this plan to me, that I will get the 2Mbps speed connection and will be installed on 28/09/2009. However when the technical team came to provide me the connection on 01/10/2009 (3 days wait time inspite of promise made of immediate connection) they informed that I will not be elligible for the 2 Mbps speed and I will need to change my plan from 2 Mbps to 256 Kbps for 599.
I had requested Airtel to provde me with a wireless router for which I had paid Rs 1500 additional. I am now told that it will take 10 business days before I get back my money on cancellation of the request.

I have called 4444121 on 1/10/2009 and registered a complaint. It is more dissapointing to mention the quality of service provided by the customer care rep (shivkumar) who hung up the phone on me when i told that I need to escalate to higher ups. I had to make 3 phone calls to the customer service department before I was able to escalate and get a reference number which is 24955354.

I have not got my desired connection speed (2Mbp), No phone, No router and I have been duped of Rs 1500/- for a new connection. Request someone senior from Airtel to look into this and help me get justice.

Airtel — Certifying the Customers as Cheaters

I am Prabhakar and I have 5 numbers. This issue is regarding [protected] which is very imp to me. I lost the Sim in last April/May and I have called the Call ceter to get it blocked. They have blocked it and I had to take a new Sim then which I have used it till Nov. Again in late Nov, I lost the SIM for which I have called the call center and asked them to block it again. And I am under impression that it is blocked and I should get the new SIM to use it.

On 23rd Jan' 10, one executive introduce herself as Radhika( who claims to be from Collection Department called me asking me to pay the bill of 3000 RS. I was kind of shocked and asked her to explain the bill in detail. She says that it is because of the usage of the SIM in December, the bill got generated, when I did not use in actual. However, when I tried to explain her the siatuation that I have already informed the Customer Care about the loss of SIM, she was not listenning to me and she was insisting hard that I should pay the bill. Then later she calls me a CHEATER which is a serious offence for me. I understand that your own of calling the deafulters but I think you should be very carefull while using these terms. You cant directly offen the customer saying a cheater.

At this point, you should understand 2 things:

1. This number is much more important to me more then you and at any cost I would not loose this number which I could have done long back after facing so many grieviences. Conclusion: I would not escape paying the bill.
2. After been a loyal customer to Airtel for more then 3 years, I had to listen these words(Cheater) and be offended.

Now if you want to know the criticality of this issue and why I am writting this to you now, see the below:

1. I have never written to you in any case nor escalated even after facing many issues because I understand it usualy happens with all the brands. Let me give you a very small example here. I would suggest you to go ahead and check my email ID in [protected]. I am fed up sending so many calls/emails and so many messages asking to change my email ID to [protected]@yahoo.co.uk from praveen.[protected]@xx.com(Dont remember exactly). Still they say that the email id is Praveen.[protected]@xxx.com at the end of every call. I never raised my voice on any of complaints. But was participating in almost all the surveys and you can check my feedback on the same. It was always positve most of the times.

2. If I am a cheater in reality, I would not write this to you letting you know my identity. If I really want to escape from paying the bill, could have done this long back when I had to pay some 5 to 6 K bills. I would not escape for a small amount of 3k.

I have also asked you guys to update [protected] as a alternate number for [protected] which you have not done. This is your problem. Not mine. You are calling everyone seeing the outgoing calls list and asking them my number which is a nuesence.

I am not sure how you take this but this is a serious offence to me. I am going to raise this with the proper channels and also with the media where you guys call the loyal customers as Cheater. If this is what you train your colleagues, then thats great. please keep up yourcustomer support and I want to withdraw myself from been a customer of yours. Please let me know the complete amount of all the numbers I have and procedure to deactivate the numbers and time limit along with the deposit I have made.

Will keep you posted as I get the update

Airtel Broadband — Cheating saying will provide service

Airtel Broadband service was heard to be the best service in all. But my experience was the reverse. They have promeised me to give a service in 2009 March which they have declined static that there is no feasibilty in my place. Now in this Feb they have contacted me saying they will give the connection and now today tehy are telling again they wont be able to. "clear cheating or fraud".
I have been a Loyal customer for airtel from the day i started earning for my own, that is for the last 6 years. But am rethinking now.
dear executive told me a assured gift on new net connection but after sales taking it non serious, she tells me company gives u a reebok sunglasses or reebok watch till now nothing give to me .

concerne person is ruchika from ambala

Airtel — Cheating with customer

Dear sir
they are giving value added services without any infomtion / without any request and charging for this whenever i tried to call them they never attend it.

Airtel Broadband — Cheating On Speed

I was using a 2 mbs plan for Rs 1299. However I wasnt told about it and received only 256 kbps of speed. In their System the customer care has informed that my speed was reduced to 256 kbps after just 7 days o[censored]sage. Hence,
To sum it up
I was getting 256 kbps of speed but was paying for 2 mbps of speed.

Airtel Broadband Connection — net is getting disturbed not running more than 15 minutes

net is getting disturbed not running more than 15 minutes air tel land line no[protected] complaint lodged complain no 46416450 dt 16/15/2011 complain not resolved no body has visied to solve the problem airtel people are not caring at all please help

Airtel Broadband — Cheating all customers

If you are with airtel or planning to be with. Be aware of their scam under the hood.

How it works : You take a plan for cetain limit or unlimited download.

Let's say you have unlimited download. They have a FUP limit. COnsider FUP limit is 20 GB.

So after 20 GB of download you will get half the speed.

This si where the scam kicks off. You may have only used 20 MB but thier system will show 20 GB o[censored]sage and they will decrease your speed. You will keep fighting with customer care but let me tell you they will lie and fool you and my simply abuse you. Airtel relationship center will be ruthless, rude and least bothered about what you are facing. Last hope...Nodal officer, he / she will simply send you an appology email but will not help you, hey will still stick with "YOU USED IT"

What I faced was... Limit of 75 GB of download in 5 hours exhausted at 1 MBPS.... HOLA! no mater how do your math,.. it isn't simply possible...

This isn't the first time it is happening. On top of it Nodal officers will simply take a week to respond and possibly send you a reply which will give you all reasons to beat someone at a airtel relationship office...

So what should we together do about this scam????
I just calls from airtel and people started insulting and me asked to buzz off. Told me you have used 62 GB of your limit in 3 days. Again they deny the fact of simple calculation. 100-110 KBS of download speed in 3 days. How the hell is it possible? Moreover I have used only about 2 GB.

Look at the irony... Neha Gupta the nodal officer for West is making people call me and insult the customer, abuse the customer... Well done Neha Gupta
@Rakesh,

I have sent email to appellate but it was of no use...
I wonder why YOU are offering help? After so much of fight, today I have a download speed of 20kbps ...

I guess you canned my quota of high speed. It is practically impossible to exhaust 76 GB in 3 days at the pathetic speed you give.

If I get a call from your technical guy he says "Sir you have limit to download those call center guys are joking."

And after the blazing fast 20kbps speed when I talk to customer care they say you have used more than 76 gb so the speed has fallen down...

What should I do about the blame game?

Be brave... post it here what will you do...what actions will you take against Neha gupta? what will you do to stop this scam?

else just buzz off and let people learn about Airtel's cheat codes to burn our pockets...

Ref no : IGH8106583 for Rs. 300

Airtel — SBI Account debited but not updated by Airtel

Respected Sir,

I made a swipe of Rs.1014 at Airtel Postpaid centre with my SBI debit card. But the transaction failed due to some error. But my Account statement says the amount has been debited (but fails to mention to whom) .Airtel people say that it is not debited to their account but Bank says it has been debited. Can you guide me in the right path so that i can take an appropriate action.

Thanks,

Hi Team,

I have a problem with my Airtel Postpaid number ([protected]). I am using this number from last 3 years and paying bills on time.Customer care told that the number shows as disconnected in the records hence I am unable to use the services (3G). Because of the issue I'm not getting the e-bill for this number neither am I able to create an account online to check my itemized bill.

This time my bill just shoot up to more than the twice amount.but these guys are not sharing the details as my number shows disconnected in their database.

I request you to please help me get this issue fixed as soon as possible.
I called so many times to customer care. They just fwd it to the supervisors and then on hold and finally disconnect it.
I spoke with several managers also but they also have no solution for my problem.
I am fed up with these guys.
I will have to get this number disconnected (which I don't want).
Please help.

Thanks,
Ramandeep Singh

Hello! M Kunal Malhotra .. in my case it's totally negligence .. i find that bharti airtel lost its goodwill .. i am using 2 numbers of airtel 1 in my mobile another in my tab .. on around 7th of last month my connection stopped working .. means there wasn't any speed at all i tried to get them recharge .. but no result .. then i called there headline n it was surprising that with all different ppl i talked with dint had any answer to my query .. then i Cme to know tht maybe i have to wait till 10th soo that my last recharge's limit will get over .. but on 10th i tried again but with same result .. iwas soo worried Connie was around 5 days i wasn'table to use net .. then i called cust .care n ask if they can activate 3gb plan in 3g which costs 655 from there end if i get money in my account .. that office said yes he can do that i confirmed again he said yes he canteen in just a minute i got my mobile recharged with 700 with full talktime and my balance went to 770+ then that executive said he is activating 3gb plan and 655 will get deducted from my acc. N it's unlimited for 1 month and every detail i confirmed.. i again asked him tht u activated the right plan .. he was soo sure .. i started using it n was feeling quite ok after all those 4-5 days of tention.. but it shocked me when i saw my balance went to 0.01 just on 12th n then i called to cust .care again n in my very 1st call the person i talked with i told him everythng word to word n he admitted that it was that officer's fault n u will get your money back on or before 14th .. but it wasn't happened n they are soo ignorant that they won't even talk properly n never answers me point to point always said you will get call bk soon you will get call bk soon n i never got any call just got a message from them that your matters has been resolved .. but dint got a single rupee bk .. i told them that why you don't listen to the recording of our conversation when you have it ..but i don't know why they are doing this .. i explained them everythng word to word many times but they are not admitting their fault ..it was a case of pure cheating i confirmed everythng before giving any request i use data services regularly why instead of getting any good plan i will give them any request of paying them for every kb i use ? Its ridiculous .. i will surely go to consumer forum if they again deny this time .. hope you will understand my problem .. looking forward for your mail n what will be the result of your efforts for me .. thnx .. Airtel — wrong advertising

i have an airtel life time connection. some days back i received a message saying to e-recharge with rs. 96 and get unlimited GPRS facility, i promptly did it. i got talk value of rs.1 with that recharge, then i contacted customer care where i was told to call *567*11# . i did that and started using the net, that day i was not charged but the next day after using the net for 2 or 3 hrs my balance which was about rs 60 went to 15paise. again i called customer care, there the person who took my call told me that i had only 2 GB free usage, i confronted him saying that u have been advertising wrongly, he coud'nt reply and said that he is transferring the call to his senior but promptly disconnected the connection. i called up yet again. this time i got to talk to rajesh who told me the same 2GB free usage thing and that too during night time surfing. now my complain is that AIRTEL IS FLEECING ITS CUSTOMERS. WHAT IS THE MEANING O[censored]NLIMITED IF LIMIT IS ALREADY SET, DOES AIRTEL OWN A DIFFERENT SET OF DICTIONARY?

Airtel — Ads through mobile phone

Now a days when ever I try to make a call to any Airtel connection, I will have to wait for 1 minute for the call as the pre recorded advertisement will be played. I have checked with the the person who was supposed to get the call, and got confirmed that they can not hear anyting when the take the call. Do Airtel beleive that we are puchasing telephones and sim cards for thier ad purpose.

Address: Pune, Maharashtra

Date of ERecharge: 19th Apr, 2013.

Airtel no: [protected] (used for wi-fi internet connectivity, 3G),

Current balance: talktime balance - yes, approx Rs 40, Balance MB - yes

I paid Rs 252/- to Shri Ganesh Shoppe, Kawadipat, Toll Naka, Pune Solapur Highway. He recharged with the said amount at 1020h, on 19 Apr, 2013. I came home and checked that "ERecharge not successful" Transaction ID[protected].
In the evening again the shopkeeper tried, but it remained unsuccessful.
I tried recharge through the internet before and after going to the shopkeeper. This was also not successful. I have already paid Rs 252 to Paytm.com (the web portal for recharge) and paid Rs 252 to the shopkeeper. Paytm apparently has a tie up with various organisations for recharge, I have successfully recharged using this portal earlier. The message that I get form paytm is that Rs 252 is not the correct amt. I tried with Rs 250, again got the same message.

Airtel website does not have an option of ERecharge for people of Pune, though I bought this connection on 24Mar 2013 from Pune itself.

My internet connection is working fine, but the phone calls with the same SIM card, when inserted into phone, also not possible.

The shopkeeper checked with Airtel customer care about the issue, he was told that once the balance MB finish completely, only then the recharge can be successful. Whereas this reply seems ridiculous, as per my knowledge I should recharge before my balance is 50MB. If I do it when MB is less than 50, that balance will get forfeited.

There was no way I could get hold of any customer care rep of Airtel, only recorded voices were there wherever I navigated on my phone.

I feel completely harassed. I need to complete important work on internet.

Thanks,

Nandini Mehta

heloo sir.. i justnow recharged for 100 rs.. but u are charging me unnecessarily like AIRTEL INF .. i already activated my 3G plan before 3 weeks..
but why ?? whats the reason for charging.. your customer care executive says like idiotically like "YOU ONLY ACTIVATED" its irritating me... if you want money means please go and beg somewhere.. don't cheat peoples like this...

i am not satisfied .

I want my money... its my rights... otherwise i will go consumer court

AirTel — unnecessary activations

airtel srvices are gng bad unecessarly activating different services in my mobile without informing it wuld b good avoiding such things by the company

Airtel — Unnecessary Activation of 3G

I was using GPRS service from Airtel with plan of Rs.98 for 2GB.

I received an SMS from Airtel saying 3G has been activated on my number on 14th March, I had not given any such request.

I immediately called helpline on 121 and they apologized and disconnected the 3G service.

After a while I realized that my GPRS was also not working, I again called helpline. They informed me that the 2GB plan was revised before some months to 1GB, hence I can not get the 2GB plan.

In the process 2 agents put my call on hold and never came back. Every time I had to call back and explain the problem to a new person from scratch !!

When I called for third time I told the agent not to put me on hold. The agent said as a process it is compulsory to put on hold !!

I had not requested to change any plan in the 1st place, hence it was only fair that my original plan should be restored.

Finally I had to ask him to transfer to his superior agent.

His superior asked me to send an email. (How do I send an email? My internet connection has been deactivated by Airtel !!)

They activated the 1GB plan and asked me to send email to get the 2GP plan restored.

I got to office and sent the required email. Since then, I am getting same reply on email as the agent gave me on phone, but my question is still unanswered : Why did they change my plan if I had not given any request ?

Again on 15th March, I received the same SMS again, that 3G is activated on my number.

This is pure harassment !! I have been fighting with Customer Care (!!) since more than 24 Hrs for solving mistake made by them.

This is not about the additional 1GB data usage, it is only about admitting and correcting the mistake, which the company is not ready to do.

Hi,

My name is Soumalya Dutta.

I was a Airtel Postpaid Customer in Bangalore.

My number was: [protected]

The usual bill amount I was used get was around Rs. 1200 . But for OCT/NOV- 2012 airtel sent me a bill of 3500 which is abnormally high and naturally I did not pay .When the Customer Care (from Gurgaon) called up I asked to verify that and need a detailed bill (not just with the total amount but with call details). I had cleared all the billed till that month.

For which I didn't get any reply.

Then after a month airtel disconnected my connection.

Now after 3/4 months Airtel sending me a legal Notice and some guy calling threatening my parents that I have not paid the bill. I never said I won't pay the bill but before that I need enough clarification.

If airtel can't provide that it is not my fault but it is not at all an acceptable way of handling customers.

Regards,
Soumalya

I took a Broadband service from Airtel on the plan , Pay for five months and get a wifi free on a Broadband plan, when i got the connection the connection guy said the WIFI won't be working on your mobile phones and tabulates. As a firmware was not ready for my BEETEL 450TC2 WIFI Modem. I asked him then please change the modem which has no such problems. He straight away told me that you have to buy a new modem for connecting other devices .

At time of purchase I clearly told the sales person of Airtel about my requirement. I want to know why that sales person hasn't told me that modems which Airtel is giving not suits your requirements and why Airtel cheats persons. Also I would like to know that if I want to connect only one device , why should I need a wifi to connect. This Incident forced me to think that Airtel using this offer to collecting the money from innocent peoples.

I have raised many complains about this issue in Airtel but no response till now.

airtel connections — WI-FI connection

hello sir, my name is priyank bhatt.I am already an airtel customer.I applied for a new connection on 28th of july for my friend Pratiksha singh with the FORM NO- TBLR-000920.This new connection should take maximum 7 working days according to your policy.I made payments on 30th july and the customer care executive told me that technical people will come with in 4 working days.On 7th august(11th day) i lodge a complaint (comp. no. 22880612.)and i was said that my complaint will be resolved on
8th august but again no response from careless airtel team.
when i called to c.care on 10th august then i got the answer that in this area no port is available and you either wait or get REFUND in 45 days, .again i called the person to whom i paid my bill and i came to know that airtel's system is not updated and port is available in this area.
I am really surprised that what type of service you people are providing.I wasted my money and time here for my connection but it is worst response than a lazy govt company.

Its your fault that if no port was available then your people should check before taking payments.

Airtel — Airtel Wifi network problem

Hi
I have just got installed airtel wifi connection at my place in Noida, Sec 23. From the very first day there is a problem with the network. Sometimes it gets connected, sometimes not. Out of 10 times a day I am successfully able to get the connectivity only once.
My account number is 16533831.
I tried calling your customer care numbers like 121, 198, 7070 but of no use. Each one of the customer care executives first listens full problem and then say "Sir, this is ot the concerned department. Please call -----". I am sure Airtel is going to loose its goodwill if it goes this way.
Please get the problem rectified ASAP otherwise I am NOT GOING TO PAY THE BILL and will then find a way legally to solve it.

Address: Bangalore, Karnataka

I had availed Airtel DSL Broadband connection (Airtel Landline No: [protected], Account No: [protected] at my residence in the year 2011 in the JP Nagar area in Bangalore. I applied for a shift in residence to Bellandur area in Nov 2011. Airtel customer care replied saying they cannot offer the same broadband service in Bellandur area and following this, I asked the customer care to disconnect my broad band connection permanently. I clearly all my outstanding bills till Nov 2011 and did not utilize broadband service from Airtel starting Dec 2012 as I already had moved to my new residence in Nov last week.
However instead of taking action on my request for disconnection, the Airtel representative changed the bill plan to a lower speed one in Dec and continued to bill me for the following months and the customer care was harassing me over the phone every week to continue to pay for the service in anticipation of future connection availability at my new residence at the changed bill plan. I repeatedly informed them over phone and email that I have requested for disconnection and paid all my outstanding dues and that the matter is pending at their end and I am not liable to pay anymore for service that I have requested to be terminated. An Airtel executive came to my new residence and collected the modem/Wifi router, but did not even give me back my deposit for the device in Jan 2013. When I asked him for a receipt, he said there is no receipt for return of modem and that the money will be directly credited to my account. However, I didnt receive the money and Airtel continued to send me reminders to pay an outstanding amount of Rs 2937 for the following months. In March 2013, I received a letter from Collections.[protected]@in.airtel.com saying if I dont pay the outstanding amount, a legal letter from LokAdalat will be initiated.
I promptly replied to airtel.[protected]@gmail.com, explaining the context and stating that I was not liable to pay for service when I had asked for disconnection and I cannot be made to pay for Airtel's slack and erroneous billing. I received no response to any of my emails.

3 days ago, I received another email from Collections.[protected]@in.airtel.com threatening me to pay bills or face legal action. I replied in email once again to collections.[protected]@gmail.com explaining the same story. Today, I get a threatening call from a lady representing Airtel legal department asking me to pay my outstanding or face legal action. When I tried to explain to her the situation, she didn't seem capable o[censored]nderstanding and kept repeating 'pay your bill or face legal action' as if she was a call centre employee with a script.

I am tired and exhausted with Airtel, harrassing me for 5 months now about an issue which should have ended in Nov 2011 itself when I asked for disconnection. Please take this matter seriously and resolve it.

There are thousands of such cases across India from consumers and Airtel needs to act responsibly towards its consumers and stop harassing us for money that is undue. If all the consumers would unit, Airtel would be facing a hard time setting in court for consumer complaints.

Airtel — Asking me to pay bill for which i have given disconnection Request 5 months back

I was using Airtel 0ne year back in june07 i stopped using it. in august 07 they send me legel notice to pay my pending bill. i paid the bill and at same time gave request for disconnection.
but instead of disconnecting my phone they again send me bill for next month. now again they have sent me court notice and also torturing me over phone that you have to pay the bill. i have not used this number after june 07.
Earlier their advocate said if there is no usage charges Airtel will not ask you to pay. but when i showed them that there is no usage they said that you have to pay this bill and again give a fresh disconnection request.

AirTel — Threatening Call

I received threatening call on my landline [protected] on 4th October.
I need to know name of person and location.

Regards,

I had purchased a datacard connection approx for Rs 4000/- around Sept 5-10'2009 or so in Mumbai (my form is all blurred and does not show the date) from AIR TEL OUTLET AT FOUNTAIN (RECEIPT GIVEN BY KAMDAR TELECOMMUNICATION
174/180, KUSUM VIJAY BUILDING, 3RD FLOOR, MODI ST, FORT, MUMBAI -1). The same was returned on Sept 20th (Kamdar Communications 20317 dated Sept 20 for Rs 3500/-) after a tiff with the Airtel staff (Kamdar Communicatons) since the datacard was not compatible with my laptop.

a. The Air Tel service man who delivered the datacard in Dahiser tried his best and could not connect the laptop on to the internet and asked me to take it back to Kamdar Communications since it was not compatible with the laptop.

b. I used the Air tel phone services and the assistance could not help me and asked me to take it back.

When I took it back to return and get my money refunded, the Kamdar rep. at Fort were quite rude and would not return the datacard but finally with enough coaxing and pleading, they took it back and deducted Rs 500/- since they said that I had used it for 15 days (although they know that it never worked on my laptop). I am complaining to have that Rs 500/- plus interest till date returned to me since I never used the datacard. The only time the datacard was used was in the outlet when they tested it to be working but whenever I tried to use it, it did not work.

2. I did not know how their systems work and confirmed with kamdar Communicat. that my account with Air Tel has not even started and has ended since I have returned it and have nothing to do with Air Tel. They confirmed that everything is ok and the account is closed. I did not know that they did not close the account on their computers on Sept 20th and now Air Tel has been sending me bills since Sept 82400030 Oct 98428908, Nov[protected]Rs 1507/-) and when I went to Kamdar Communications at Fort to ask them why my account was not closed on Sept 20, 2009, they were rude and refused to talk to me saying that I have to send a request to close account with Airtel.

Now since Sept till Nov, Airtel has been sending me notices and warning me that they will take legal action towards me if I do not pay Rs 1432/- and are lying that they have made telecalls and visits to my place. I travel out of the city for 25 days of the month. Now Airtel is threatening to send my case to their solicitor and take legal action if I do not pay the bill (for a connection that never took off).

Since I am back for 5 days and leaving on 6th Jan, I called up the Airtel customer service and as they instructed me to call, asked to talk to a Miss Priya and someone named Neha picked up the phone and without any greeting answered rudely. When I spoke that I have been asked by Air Tel to contact the no and asked why she was being rude, she put the phone down and did not answer my calls till 15 minutes even when the bell was going because I asked her if she was speaking from her home or office and why this kind of a tone. This is the worst service and behaviour I have received from Airtel. Please help to solve this issue. All their phones are busy and never picked up and the customer service No. keeps on asking the same question 10 times in English and then in Hindi and keeps taking info.

AirTel — erroneous billing and threatening calls

I went to China in the month of March 2010 where Airtel charged some GPRS charges of INR 30000 approx. I am pretty sure that this amount is not correct. Inspite of making multiple calls and writing numerous mails even to the level of appellate, my complain was not resolved to my satisfaction. I travel a lot abroad for my work and I make sure whenever I go out, I write an email to customer care and appellate and also make call to customer service department to update about my plan. However, inspite of my case pending with appellate and inspite of telling them that I would be out of india for certain number of days, the collection agency of Airtel made threatning calls to my family, freinds and colleagues and have tarnished all my image in the society. This has not happened just once. I have ben to around 3-4 countries in last 3 months and everytme I go out they make calls even after my reminder going to the appellate about me going out of India.

Untill now my problem has not been solved. There is no answers with appellate about my problem. I have not got any satisfactory response till now about my image being tarnished.

I have all records inclusing emails to prove my innocence. Pls help
Please register a complaint in the local police station and also file a case in the consumer court.

- In November 2012, I relocated to Bangalore and had asked Airtel for 2 connections, 1 for a regular connection and 1 for an iphone (micro-SIM). I was allotted both numbers, however the number for the iphone & 3G services for A (fraud number in question) was not working.
- Since the original micro-SIM was provided by the agent, when I escalated the matter on calling 121, I was told to get the micro-SIM card changed at the nearest Airtel outlet. I accordingly did so, handing back the old micro-SIM and was given a new micro-SIM for the number B, which I continue to use for my iphone. I was told the number A was cancelled after the micro-SIM was returned
- I subsequently obtained another number (C, normal SIM) from Airtel for a family member which is in use.
- Today I have come to know that Airtel has been charging me for the number A which I have never used, which never worked, and which I had
replaced with the number B. I am told by Airtel than an amount of INR 2771 is pending since November 2012.
- On account of this, Airtel has also barred outgoing calls and SMS on the other number C.
- I would like to point out out that till date, I have not received a single bill (e-bill or physical) for the number A for which Airtel today
claims INR 2771 is due. On March 29th 2013for the first time I received a message from Airtel on this subject at all. More importantly, I have never used this number and fail to understand how I can be charged.
- Let me reiterate - the micro-SIM for the number A was not working when it was given to me and was returned to the Airtel dealership for a new
micro-SIM.

The number C was once again deactivated without information yesterday and we have been crying hoarse ever since asking Airtel to show us 'evidence' of even a single mail they would have sent us regarding the non payment of dues on the fraud number. And they have been claiming to send us electronic bills via emails on an address that doesn't even exist! All this when they claim to have all our documents to prove that this number was really ours! They have been asking us for executive details etc which we never kept track of since there were some 10 different people who came to hand over and take back the non functional SIM cards, in November 2012.

Since March 29th, we have been following up with Airtel and all our explanations, emails and calls have fallen on deaf ears. Promises of 'senior appellate officers calling back in 2 hours' and 'investigations are in progress' have all been futile as they have begun harassing us again for the payment of dues on a number we have never used. As I had mentioned earlier, I recognize that this could be a case of either a
gross operational error or a case of serious fraud. In either case, the
customer should not have to bear the cost.

Airtel — Apathy of Customer care in reference to lost Sim Card

I had lost AIRTEL sim card on 16th of Sep 2008, late night. I spoke to the consumer centre to block my card so that it is not used for any illegal activities. But they asked me to visit an Airtel relationship centre and didn't provide me their head quarter's number. They said they don't have it. I insisted, but they still didn't! How is it possible that the customer care doesn't have this number! I updated them regarding the current terrorist situation in Mumbai, and requested them to block the card for a few hours so that I could find nearest relationship centre and go forward with it. They even didn't oblige on this. Instead, the customer call centre representative, one ARSHAD, was very rude and plain. Considering their apathy towards their customers I am hoping that I am able to find a relationship centre (and they don't take time to block it) before the card is used for some illegal activities. Nor do they have a separate web page to register our complains.

airtel charged me 15/- for wap.mobifun.in, which was not subscribed by me. now I want to know the detail when I subscribed on it & want to unsubscribe it before any more money can be charged.

AirTel — Airtel charges us for calling for help!!!!!!

Airtel charges their customers for calling an airtel helpline!!!!!!!
why don't you all publish the complaints that we post to you??????

why should Airtel charge us for calling their helpline????????????
Mr. Rakesh Ranga,
if you do some research in Airtel post paid mobile department- name diya sen, defence colony, new delhi, ph number ends with xxxxxxxx70 then i would think you'll get my number.
And honestly i am not very keen to give you the whole story of the conversation i had with your 'absolutely well trained customer care helpline people' as with respect to my previous experiences with them, i am quite sure you'll be the same and anyway Airtel is well trained in having bizarre reasons for any complaint made.
Airtel does not care.
have a good day,
diya sen
Resolved? your customer care people call up just to say-' ma'm we do charge 50p for a call. This is the rule and we cannot do anything about it'.

If you call the above 'an issue that has been resolved', then yes it has been.

Airtel — charging for duration we have not used

Our connection remained disconnected for more then a week now these people say we need to pay full why shall we pay whole amount....? They say we gave time line one week, it doesn't mean if they give fine duration of one month we will pay for that also? No we don't wnt so...what shall we do. I am sick of calling them again and again.

We have already shared the number Saurav and someone from your team called us today, once again stating that we need to pay the dues on the number when we had never even activated the same! Can you please look in to this urgently as you are indiscriminately harassing us and deactivating services on another number? I am appalled at the level of customer service Airtel offers and how you are expecting unsuspecting customers pay for services and numbers that were never activated by us in the first place.
Saurav, your representatives called me yesterday and today with neither of them having k knowledge about the case. They still maintain that the number was activated 6 months ago.

What I fail to understand is how your team sat on an outstanding for 6 months before calling to disconnect my number C indiscriminately in March which by the way still stands deactivated. Are you trying to tell me Airtel did not bother to inform me about an outstanding back in November/December when the dues had begun accumulating then? I find that impossible to believe since Airtel begins harassing me with calls even one day prior to payment of my bills!

You mention having all documents to prove that this number was activated in my name, yet how can you have an erroneous email id for this number alone while I continue to receive all bills and Airtel communications for my other numbers on my correct email id?

Please look into this Saurav, this definitely seems to be a case of gross negligence on Airtel's end for which I refuse to bear the expenses and immediately restore services on number C.
Today evening I have received 3 bills forwarded to me for the months of Dec'12 Jan'13 and Feb'13. On April 22nd 2013!!!
These bills all show the amounts due to be over the credit limit yet no one seems to have gotten in touch with me until March end for a payment and the way Airtel did get in touch was by disconnecting another number of mine (which remains disconnected at the moment - I hope Airtel doesnt plan on continuing to charge me for this period where they have disconnected services on this number).
The fact that the bills have come to me only today on April 22nd 2013 for periods from November onwards amply shows that the negligence (or fraud as the case may be) is on Airtel's part. Unfortunately they are trying to push this on to a customer.
I have seem a lot of statements around commitment so far in this chain; for a change I would appreciate someone actually doing something - and for starters at least they should have the professionalism and decency to restore the services of my other number which they have unceremoniously disconnected (on multiple occasions now).
The sad part is - Airtel is going to lose multiple connections on account of their negligence. But I guess the negligence indicates they are least interested in their customers anyway!
Namaste Mr. Mathew,

Deepak, please have the basic courtesy and decency of reading what I have written (before your post). THE ISSUE IS MOST CERTAINLY NOT RESOLVED!!! Let me say it again, since you do not seem to have understood my note written before yours:
THE ISSUE IS NOT RESOLVED!

It is unacceptable that you are considering complaints to be resolved when I am still writing in to say it is NOT. I wish you would pay closer attention to customers and their complaints. I am re-posting what I had posted yesterday.

This is truly one company that has me befuddled. It also clearly shows attitude issues in genuinely helping a consumer out:

In specifically tracking this issue, I can clearly see:-

a) Multiple representatives trying to "resolve" 1 issue

b) No integration with the backend to figure out what the issue is

c) The time being taken to address the issue is ridiculous. This information is also not shred with the consumer!

d)The eagerness to close the issue without even understanding if it's genuinely resolved or not

TRAI has some strict regulations on redressal of complaints. Following the loop might be a good idea...http://www.tccms.gov.in/

Deepak, I am alarmed at how you are refusing to read mails in this chain! Please read every mail above carefully as we have already written to [protected]@in.airtel.com with all our coordinates and contact details. It is shocking how you arent interested in reading through the mail chains to understand and resolve the issue. Shameful!
Vinay, I think you should take a screenshot of this. Its ludicrous!! Its almost as if there's a half baked bot sitting and trying to solve the issue except that it's run out of memory...

Anyway, posting some numbers for you from the Department of Telecommunications. These are people you can get in touch with if the service provider is not addressing the issue effectively.

Also would recommend shifting to some other service provider since these guys are absolutely not worth it. There are other similar experiences as well I am getting to hear about where deactivations are not happening and the customer is being forced to bear the brunt of the payment. There are a couple of instances where Airtel has tried to claim an inflated bill on a deactivated number and then eventually settled for half the claim. Either way, it is a net loss for the customer!

Absolutely pathetic! They've made an absolute mockery of the actual purpose of this site. It is apalling to see them not even making an effort to understand the issue let alone resolve the issue. Like many others I know, I believe it's high time to make full use of MNP as an option and move out to an operator who would at least listen to their customers.
No wonder Airtel boasts of the highest number of port outs!!! They have set up nodal offices and appellate offices in every circle but guess their job is just to harass customers rather than service them.
Another perspective that I would like to bring out here is that, strangely enough, such cases typically happen towards the end of the financial year. So when the employee/branch/department/circle and 'Airtel' are falling short of their targets they resort to such measures. So it's definitely not a case of negligence, it's a clear case of fleecing...in simpler words CHEATING.
As of April 24, 2013, a representative from the Airtel appellate office called assuring us of a resolution to the entire issue by Friday, April 26, 2013. Lets see how Airtel handles this issue and whether they are able to conduct a fair investigation; hope they put an end to this unwanted harassment within eod, tomorrow.
Despite a commitment 2 days back to sort this out positively by today, I have received no communication from Airtel regarding this. While this is just another commitment (among so many) broken, it just underlines that Airtel seems to have no interest in solving a real customer issue. I have not seen such a pathetic level of customer service and in fact, such a level of apathy towards the customer, in any other customer serving organization.

Whoever from Airtel is reading this mail, kindly do me the courtesy of not posting something as stupid as asking me to share my coordinates. If someone does intend to call me, please do so only if you have a solution. Otherwise, stop wasting my time and yours.
And might I reiterate - for a mistake on the organizations end, they have actually permanently and unceremoniously disconnected a number on which all payments were being made. Absolutely disgusting levels of customer service.
We last heard from Airtel on April 24, 2013 with a commitment to resolve the outstanding issue by April 26, 2013. We are on the last day of the month today and still not a peep from them! How can a mobile service provider with an Indian footprint be so callous about customer service? Does keeping commitment impact their bottomlines adversely? I do not understand how many more mails and calls we need to make to put an end to this harassment. Shame on you Airtel, is anyone remotely interested in taking this case to a logical end?

I had received a general enquiry from Ms.Chandni of Airtel's Andheri ( Chakala) branch which offered me Airtel 3G USB Modem Data Card
at Rs.700. I purchased the Data Card whose SIM Card No.is[protected]F and Data Card IMEI No.is [protected]
and their executive Mr.Rushabh was send by them to collect the documents.

The said person had just come to complete his call , he was neither aware of the documents , nor when and where stamp or sign had to
be taken. I kept on reminding him to take the signatures as and when form was filled and documents were being provided. but Mr.Rushabh and Ms.Chandni kept on assuring that the card will be activated on the present day itself in the evening or probably the next day morning.

But till now i am just waiting for the card to be activated and the data card to be working. When contacted reasons for non activation was incomplete documents and stamp and signature not provided. I also lodged complaints with their Managers Mr.Neel,Mr.Vijay and Mr.Ganesh but they were too busy to call back. I also tried to contact Ms.Chandni and Mr.Rushabh but was given the reasons that they are not available and they are on a half day leave.

I am not able to understand the whole scenario where and when i was wrong , whether i was wrong in purchasing the card or in providing relevant documents.

I hope strict action will be taken against those involved since this had led to a lot of harrassment to me by making wrong commitments to me and by not even bothering to provide reasonable answers.

I have called airtel customer care thrice and all three gave three different solutions to deactivate MMS. Hi,

Nowadays i hear/see lot of complaints with regards to the Airtel services and their customer support, since its a competitive world, i thought that one in thousand might have had a bad experience with the Airtel service/customer support.

In-fact I was one of the big fan of Airtel as a service provider, but things have drastically changed from last week, as i have purchased a 4G Wireless LTE Router for a price of Rs 4999 and opted for a 4G Post-paid sim card. It's been almost a week i got the connection and the sim card has not been activated and still am calling up every day 5 times to the Airtel customer support and its Zonal manager. Every other day Airtel Zonal manager confirms that it will be activated, but nothing happened so far, as all the promised are just the false promises just to calm down their customer for some time.

Even before buying this 4G Broadband Wifi LTE, i did lot of research in the internet about their 4G LTE service and customer support in Bangalore. I have read lots and lots of complaints on Airtel service and customer support. (e.g. Sim card doesn't get activates on time, poor internet speed, speed fluctuates, not getting the speed what Airtel promotes etc). But i did not trust those complaints and opted for the Airtel 4G with the trust i have in Airtel.

It's so dis-appointing and sad to say that all those complaints which i have seen are true and am getting punished by Airtel for my bold decision on choosing Airtel :-(...!!

Thanks,
Kumar

Dear Sandeep,

My complaint made on 18th April 2013, stands tall/taller/tallest.

I would request my friends to kindly stay away from their service, they started cheating in a big way with their service and customer support. Let's give a strong message to AIRTEL and start boycotting AIRTEL brand.

Thanks,
Uday

Hello,

IN SPITE OF BEING A GOOD CUSTOMER FOR SUCH A LONG TIME WITH CLEAR PAYMENT HISTORY, THIS ENTIRE EPISODE HAS MADE ME LOST TRUST ON YOUR SERVICES AND HENCE I WANT JUSTICE. REQUEST YOU TO PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS WITH THE HIGHEST PRIORITY AS NOT ONLY MY DIGNITY AS A LADY BEEN THREATENED BY THE RECOVERY AGENTS, BUT MY RELATIVES HAVE ALSO BEEN HARASSED FOR NO REASON.

I have had an Airtel cell number ([protected]), Broadband & Landline[protected] since the past 7 years and had always been a prompt payer without issues. In December last year (2012) I relocated to Mumbai and hence I closed down my landline and broadband connection after clearing all the dues. I made the last call at 15th December and later travelled out for vacation. I came back in February 2013 and on 18th Feb had gone to an Airtel collections center (Kharghar branch) to pay the dues and request for closing the account; however I was informed that they did not have a facility to collect the payments through credit cards. I was asked to make the payments in cash, which I wasn't carrying at that time. I went home deciding to make online payment. Incidentally, out of sheer coincidence, the very same day I got a call from a recovery agent. He immediately started abusing me the moment I answered and asked me to make the payments. He made lewd remarks at me and disgraced my character. I was shocked and I didn't understand why he directly started abusing me without even asking for my intentions to pay the dues. Not bearing his rude and disgusting remarks, I told him that I will make a direct police complaint and will ensure that he pays for dishonoring my dignity. He realized what he had done and profusely apologised for his indecent behaviour. He pleaded me not to make any complaints against him. To make up for his behaviour, he told me that although my actual usage bill till December 2012 was Rs. 7,516/-, he will settle the account for Rs. 6,000/-. I told him clearly that I never asked for a settlement and I always had the intention to pay the entire amount, to which he insisted citing my long loyalty with Airtel and prompt payment customer. I agreed to make a payment of Rs. 6,000/- as he assured me that with this payment my account will be fully closed and that he will personally take care of the request. I promptly made an online payment of the same (believing my account will be closed).

Everything was calm and quiet for a month and I had the least hint that my account was still open. I again got a call somewhere in the mid of March by some other recovery agent this time and she mentioned that we have to clear the dues of over Rs. 4,000/- that are still pending with them. I refused as I told her clearly that I had made the requested payment just last month and they promised to close my account then. I was surprised hearing the amount as just last month I had made the payment of Rs. 6,000/- and knew for a fact that I never used the phone since 15th December 2013. I refused to talk that lady as she was talking no sense about the dues (that was supposed to not exist anymore). I checked my bill and was surprised to see that even if I consider the waived off amount by the first agent, the balance would not amount to Rs. 4,000/-. By this time, I lost complete trust of recovery agents as they quoted any figure they liked. I felt cheated and dejected that a service provider like Airtel practiced such wrong methods to just extract money from their customers.

The harassment doesn't end here. This week (13th April) I again got a call from a recovery agent and he started talking abusively and threatened me to make the payments. I refused to make the payments because I lost my trust on recovery agents. The first agent had quoted a different figure and promised to settle the account and the next one was talking about an absurd balance amount pending to be paid. He repeatedly threatened to make my life miserable and also threatened to harass each of my relatives/friends. After his call I called up Airtel customer care and narrated the entire incident to them. The customer care executive (Deepak) readily made notes of the complaint (Reference No. [protected]) and he also placed a request to disconnect the number[protected]. There was no request to disconnect my number as promised by the recovery agent. He also promised a callback from someone to take care of my issue.

The next day on 14th April, I got a call from a lady saying that she cannot do much on this case and she told me that she will get her supervisor to call me back. I never got a call back from anyone after that. The recovery agents now started harassing each of my relatives and friends and every time they made a different story and threatened them to make the payments on my behalf.

Today (17th April) has been the worst day in the history of my life. Since I didn't get a call from the so called supervisor since the last 2 days, I called customer care. The representative requested to transfer the call to his supervisor but disconnected the call while I was on hold. I made more than 15 calls to customer care but each time they offered to transfer my call to a supervisor and each time they disconnected the call while I was on hold.

Then someone by the name of Mr. Rajkr Parmar (Raj Bisht - [protected]) called me today and he (as has always been with all the previous calls) directly started abusing me and threatened me to make the payments. I told him clearly that I am sorting this issue out with the help of customer care as I didn't trust recovery guys anymore. He kept insisting that we will have to make payments only with him. Out of frustration and sheer disgust of hearing all the abusive words I put his phone down. Instead of calling me back he immediately started calling all my relatives and friends and started harrassing them. He even went to the extent of calling my relative and cooking up a story that she was using my number secretively and now she will have to clear the entire dues herself. They also called my 65 year old father-in-law and used abusive language and in fact went to the extent of telling him that they got the worst daughter-in-law who steals money.

MY QUESTIONS TO SENIOR MANAGEMENT ARE – Why was I made false promises by the first recovery agent? Why did the second recovery agent NOT take any responsibility of what was committed by the first recovery agent and just quoted a random balance amount which is false? When I lost the trust on recovery agents and called customer care executive they didn’t give me any resolution and kept disconnecting the calls by promising to transfer the call over to a supervisor each time. THE BIGGEST QUESTION IS – If I can make prompt payments for 7 continuous years and recovery agents knowing which number I am available on, why are they continuously harassing my relatives and friends with false stories?????

HOPING FOR A PROMPT ACTION ON THE MISCONDUCT OF YOUR RECOVERY AGENTS AND A CALLBACK BY A RESPONSIBLE PERSON WHO CAN RESOLVE THE ISSUE AMICABLY.

Airtel — Harassment against recovery for someone unknown

Hi

I'm not sure of someone else has experienced this kind of harrasment before but three weeks back someone from Airtel calls on my Mobile (Vodafone) and asked me if I know someone called S. Kapoor, when I responded negative, he again called up for the same reason. When it happened for the third time, I asked him not to bother me and waste my valuable time in the middle of the day while I've been busy with work and do not wan to entertain such calls. For the same cooperation, he told me that I've been enquire about the person because one of the number which belonged to S. Kapoor has been discontinued and has some outstanding and they want to know the whereabout of the person to recover the amount. When I again told him that I cannot recall any such person, he again insisted me to cooperate else face dire consequences for no reason since some calls were made on my mobile from person's cell phone sometime back and I've to find out who that person was for them to recover the money. This sounds funny but it was a total case of losing one's temper specially when you're in moddle of some serious work. I did closed the call by telling him not to bother me again on the issue and it is their responsibility to find out the details of the person haing their connection discontinued with some outstanding assumiong the matter is closed.

To my surprise after three weeks back another person again calls back for the same reason and threatning me of dire consequences and harassment if I do not cooperate with him and answer all his questions even when I've no clue about the person who has defaulted them. When I tld him not to dare call me again on the issue, he tells me that the call is being recorded and I've to face the music. I'm still clueless on the reason for this harrasment and would like to bring it to public's notice besides registering the same complaint with TRAI and other authorities to look into the matter.

Does Telecom companies have any right to disturb someone's Privacy specially a subscriber of a competitor at the cost of someone else's fault. This has really not only wasted my valuable time which is difficult to calculate in terms of monetary losses but if it happens again, someone will surely have to pay for them.

For everyone's knowledge, number which called up on 04/06/09 were[protected] &[protected].

I will wait for this complaint's reply from not only Airtel but also TRAI and request them to investigate the matter further.

Regards

Deepak

Airtel — Harassment by recovery Agents

I had a very bad experience with Airtel. I was using Airtel services for over 4 years and making all my payments within due date. Last time when there was a dispute over the bill, I took the matter with the customer care through phone and emails. However there was no one who could understand the issue and kept on replying (mostly call center people) the same prototype text. I did not make the payment as the matter was not resolved to my satisfaction. But the outgoing facility was withdrawn and there after incoming calls were also stopped. I requested the matter to be escalated to the Airtel Staff so that it can be resolved immediately. I even went to their HO to meet somebody and explain. All failed and without any choice, I was forced to take connection from some other provider.

After one month, I started receiving threatening calls in my landline from some rowdies using very filthy language to make the payment immediately or else face the consequences. They said that they are ready for anything. I made a formal complaint to Airtel (Again through call center only) and I did not get any reply till now.

I was put into lot of inconvenience for informing all my contacts the changed number and I am not sure how many contacts I missed.

Please be careful.

Shares — payment recovery

I have purchased 3 units of RS.3600 each on 30.09.09 worth Rs. 10800/- maturing after 60 days i.e. on 01.12.09 as i have not received my money till date so you are requested to give the details of my payment status as early as possible.

Airtel Mobile Services — unsolicited, indecent messages

I have AIRTEL mobile conncection (most of my relatives too have) and very much satisfied with their coverage and services. What is bothering me the most is the service messages "Sunday spicy- Pamela Anderson - too BIG to handle", "Want beach beauties in bikinis"..... and several. These are unsolicited by me. Is it not outrageous for a telecommunication industry to indulge in such things. This happens despite several complaints from me. If you complaint to the call centre they are advising us to make setting in our mobile phones to block such messages. Is it not unethical to sell publicly these things. WHy airtel needs to be party to this? This may tomorrow lead to selling of pornography to public through airtel? Who is regulating this?
AIRTEL please concentrate on telecommunication business please. You have a social responsibility. If someone wants beauties, bikinis, hot stuff, they are so many places they can visit, let airtel need not be the conduit.
My mobile no. is [protected]. Post paid connection.

Two month back I requested M/s. Airtel to send me my monthly bills through my email address mentioned above. However, now I am neither receiving any bill in my mail nor any paper bill. I am finding it difficult to pay my dues in absence of detailed information regarding the charges.

Pl. look in to the matter and do the needful at the earliest.

Yours,
Manik Bordoloi
