My mobile no is [protected] (airtel) and i have two complaints
1. i have activated unlimited surfing on my phone by 450/- recharge but still whenever i browse any website through my mobile browser i always get a message from airtel saying thank for using airtel and some rupees have been deducted from your balance for browsing, wha the hell is happening, i want my money back

2. i got a message from airtel saying "Thanks for downloading MercuryMeltdown from Airtel. You have charged Rs. 99. Bollywood Pics Everyday - *321*555#"
what the hell is going on even though i havent downloaded anything like that, i want my money back you airtel

Airtel — Charging for downloading games

I am using the Airtel Sim No [protected] and loaded Rs98/ for serfing net.By mistake I downloaded Java game and for which still they are looting me everyday @rs50/- inspite of my request to stop downloading. I have not been given the connection to my mobile for internet facility.I visited severa times at CITY CENTRE, Salt Lake, Service Centre.

Kindly look into the matter and save me from further looting by AIRTEL.

Airtel — WEB BROWSING CHARGES

My mobile no. is [protected](AIRTEL) and I have 2 complaints:

(a)I repeatedly keep getting a message from airtel that says thank you for browsing and this much rupees have been deducted from your account, even though I don't browse even a single website from my mobile!
This has been going for the past 3-4 months.

(b)Some time back, I got a similar message from airtel that said thank you for browsing and sum of money around Rs80 have been deducted from your account, and this time too I didn't browse even a single website!What is this?How can you deduct such a huge amount of money, without any reason!

This is intolerable, I want my money back!

Airtel — Deducting charges for Java games

I have been repeatedly deducted money from my account for the act that never happened. I have been charged(robbed) Rs 30 (thrice), Rs 50 (once), Rs X . The last one, I don't know the amount, I recharged for Rs 50 and now it says I have minimal balance. Rs 30 and Rs 50 are being deducted for Java games downloading and renewal of some crap. I was refunded once after my first complaint via mail. But the rest of the charges are not even being attended, I did report them.

It could have been a mistake once, but more than four times couldn't be a mistake. I would like to know what is the exact problem. If this seem to be some error with programming I would like to offer my extended support to look at the code and fix it. Because no stupid would write a code to deduct everytime. Even if it is so, when the first time you addressed the issue, you could fixed the code to just not deduct any amount for Java game crap, because it's not just me who has the issue, there are tons of people. I find it to be a cunning plan to rob.

Think of this, every few days a pick pocket robs Rs 30 from you. What would you do, write emails, call police customer care (that to spending more of your money)? Wouldn't you slap him hard the first time so that he never thinks of robbing? I would.

1. i have activated 2 GB usage for 30 days on my phone at Rs. 98/- but still whenever i browse any website through my mobile browser i always get a message from airtel saying thank for using airtel and some rupees have been deducted from your balance for browsing, what is happening i don't understand. I always loosing my money.

2 Without any action i have received this msg with deduction in my account with the ammount Msg "Thanks for downloading Java Game from Airtel. You have been charged Rs 35. Latest games http://gclub.in browsing @ 10p/10kb " what the hell is going on even though i havent downloaded anything like that, i want my money back.

    Dear Sir,
    Recently due to security reasons prepaid mobile services were discontinued in Jammu and Kashmir and companies started converting the existing prepaid to post paid. Recently I got my mobile converted to postpaid and from the day one deductions started from the amount as paid for the plan Viz99 and now very little amount is left and I being told to recharge the same from any of the retailers of Airtel . Is it not possiable to pay after the completion of the month as is done in case of BSNL customers. Secondly retailers do not have facility of recharge with them . No body listening except Airtel is busy in converting the prepaid from postpaid and start deducting the charges.

        I have recently (last week) taken airtel connection and I have facing a lot of problems related to internet services like on the night of 27 11 2009 at around 9:15pm I have called airtel customer care center to deactivate my internet but that person start my caller tune without my knowledge and they have deducted my Rs.20 without my confirmation its unlawful.

        They are continuously deducting my money from my account without any approval and without any information?

          I had been receiving message from Aw-Alerts reading “Sarkar ke nirdesh! Apka mobile 30th Nov.09 ko band Kiya jar aha hai. Iss mobile ki IMEI sahi karane hetu Kendra se sampark karein” or “Sarkari nirdesh! Galat IMEI ka mobile 30th Nov. 09 ko band Kiya jar aha hai” or messages similar to that with minor change in the language. On 16.11.09, I had received a message reading “Sarkar ke nirdesh anusar galat IMEI wale mobile 30 Nov. se band ho jayenge, fir unmein kisi bhi company ka SIM nahi chalega. Apna IMEI number janne ke liye dial karein *#06#. IMEI ki satyata jaanne ke liye SMS karein- “IMEI space shru ke 8 ankon ka IMEI number” aur bhejen 121(toll free) par.
          I complied with message of 16.11.09 and received message from Customer Care on 20.11.09 at 10.32 hours that “This is a valid IMEI number”. After receiving this message, I sent a message reading “I have received message from AW-Alerts that my phone will be made inoperative after 30th Nov. The IMEI of my set is valid as confirmed by customer care. Pl. restrain from taking any arbitrary action.
          Despite valid IMEI no. of my set, my phone no.[protected] has been made inoperative since 30.11.09 with the remark “Invalid SIM”.

            I have been using the AIRTEL connection for more than 2 years. My number is [protected]. I have been receiving messages that my phone contains invalid IMEI number and the same should be collected from some registered centres. In fact I went to the centre as directed by the customer care executive. They intimated about the IMEI and send a message to the customer care - 121 and the message was replied back that the number is valid.

            All of a sudden this morning onwards, the SIM is not working and it is showing as unregistered SIM.
            I dont know what is the issue and why the services has been debarred all of a sudden.

            Hi AIRTEL,

            I have purchased a SIMTEL company phone with dual sim and dual IMEI numbers. on 12.11.09 I received the message that my IMEI number is not valid and I have to get new IMEI by paying Rs 199.

            I am using in dual sim. One Airtel, sencond sim in Reliance. But Currently My airtel sim not working in my samtel handset. But reliance sim working. what is the reason.

              Hi AIRTEL,

              I have a Moto Razr V8 mobile phone. My handset has been deactivated by Airtel as Airtel is saying that my IMEI number is not valid and I have to get new IMEI by paying Rs 199. I think the data base of AIRTEL is not updated. I tried contacting the Mototrola helpline , but they have forwarded the IMEI numbers to all service providers. M/S BHARTI AIRTEL please look in to the matter and rectify your database.

              I am facing the same problem. I also have a MotoRazr V8 phone and it stopped working earlier today. I have temporarily shifted to another handset but I am not sure how to resovle this issue. When I contacted the Airtel Nodal Officer they gave me the IMEI number seen by them, and it had the first digit as zero. It looked as though the handset was corrupting the IMEI number being transmitted. However, when I press *#06#, the number displayed is valid. I spoke to a Motorola dealer about this but he didnt understand my problem and asked me to contact Airtel again.
              Whether it is a problem with Airtel or Motorola, finally it is we consumers who always suffer. I have been working on this for the last 2 weeks and I have got fed up

                Sir,

                My son and my wife are having cell phone with prepaid connections with M/s Airtel Company. The phone numbers are

                My wife Maragathavalli.S Phine Number: [protected]

                Recently [protected] have changed the plan as 1 paise per second. After that without my request they are sending SMS to my phone and deducting Rs:2.00 or 3.00 per day. This is highly objectable.

                Like wise [protected] have changed the plan as 50 paise / call. There also they are deducting Rs:2.00 or 3.00 per day. This is not agrreable. Kindly look in to the matter and arrange to settle the issue.

                AirTel Cell Phone — Unnessassary SMS not stoping

                Sir,
                My phone number is [protected], I have received unnessassary SMS, and loase of my money by this SMS, last two times I am complaints to Customer service and that time rectify this problem, but same problem this is third time, please stop any type of SMS i dont like. (austorlogy, jokes, helth suggestion etc.)
                There is no mistake of airtel in this case, Either you or someone from ur family is subscribing for these value-added-services. Make sure that your phone is not being used by anyone and see the results after one month.
                i am neither an employee of airtel nor i m in telecommunication line, i m just common customer of airtel and i am using their services since last many years. Airtel is best.

                  I have purchased a BYOND by500 handset with a valid IMEI number and bill.I have verified the IMEI with airtel 121 service it says its valid, apart from airtel 121 service i have confirmed the validity from 57886,53232 and www.numberingplans.com all have confirmed my handset to be valid. but airtel has stopped accepting my handset since 30 nov 2009 00:00 hrs.
                  And as a matter of fact i tried using other service provider in this handset and they are perfectly working.

                      my airtel no.[protected], and for the last two moths my gprs is not wotking while Iam travelling out of West Bengal. i have launched complains several times but the authority is not able to solve the problem neither giving any alternetive solution. from today onwards the internet connection has stopped and whenever I am trying to connect the internet from my Phone it is showing" Remote party has ended this connection". i am a frequent traveller and this problem is creating lot of inconvienece to me though every month my GPRS activation charges are being taken.

                      AirTel — airtel gprs not working

                      Airtel gprs is not working properly for the last 15 days. i registered a complaint 12 days back my complain number is[protected] but still am facing the same problem. i registered my complain on 24th dec 2007 they said it will be solved withing 4 days again after 4 days i contacted airtel they said it will be solved in 2 days... Again on 31st dec 2007 i contacted airtel the said gprs will work proprly from 3rd january 2008.

                      my gprs is still not working am still facing the same problem .
                      calls to customer care executive has been blocked by airtel. i am really fade up ...
                      please help ...

                      well i recieved a msg. from airtel that my GPRS has been activated but when i tried to use it, it either said that requested objects not found or there is too crowd in the port...

This is not happening 1st time, this is a big networking services in India, I am very hopeless for behaviour of customer care executive. cc not response my no.I have a lot of problem for disconnect my gprs when i active gprs so sow on my N-6300 mobile "Packet data connection not abaviable.

                      From yesterday, most of the sony ericsson phones were not working with airtel, customer care response was also not good and accurate reg. this problem.However in SE service center, they said that the Airtel changed the frequency of signal that was the cause to this problem.
                      i request airtel and sony ericcson to rectify the problem we SE users are facing...

                      Sir/Madam,

                      I am having tremendous trouble with my airtel GPRS connection and much more so with the customer service .
                      I am pained to say that in over 20-30 calls with them they have not been able to help me even a bit.

                      I shifted to a new phone sometime in Dec and got the Mobile Office Settings by calling your call center while I was on roaming.
                      My GPRS / Mobile Office works perfectly fine when I am not in the karnataka Network but never works within Karnataka.

                      I registered a complaint regarding the same by calling up your help desk. You will find the complain number attache to my phone number in your data base.
                      In case you cannot these are the two Complaint IDs I have

                      I have tried everything possible to get a resolution to the issue but to no avail.

                      1. I have visted your Indirangar Customer care center where they changed my SIM Card twice but it still doesnt work.
                      2. I have been made to visit your Customer Care center on Bannerghatta Road . Here too they were unable to address the issue.
                      3. When a different SIM was put in my phone the GPRS works perfectly well ruling out any phone problem
                      4. When my SIM is inserted into a differnt phone the GPRS does not work point to a problem with my connection.
                      5. On frequent visits to other states i have found that my GPRS works perfectly in Maharashtra, Delhi, Rajasthan etc.

                      Customer care keep promising me that they will get back to me within 24 hours but its not happened for close to two months now.
                      My calls to to your GPRS care line keep getting disconnected and there is absolutelty no way of getting in touch with reps who kep promising action.


                      I have spoken to a lot representatives and experts but to no avail. This lack of customer care is shocking from a company like yourself.
                      My connection is a corporate connection and my corporate administrator too points me to the customer care.

                      Please resolve the same as soon as possible.

                      Sony Ericsson — Gprs not work

                      Hi,

                      I bought Sony ericsson J108i model. Initially they said Gprs facility working fine in this model in 2G and 3G. But, now i am not able to download even a single content from any site. i have changed many sim's even though i am having the same issue. I complaint against Sony ericsson support team they were not properly respond to me for my problem. Its one of the worst product. i never ever been facing any other models, even china model and corean model also working fine. Sony ericsson product totally waste.

                        My mobile nokia n70 and IMEI no. is [protected]

                        Airtel sent sms is Apka handset 29 nov raat 12 baje se band kar diya jayega aur ye handset kisi bhi sim par karya nahi karega, ya to aap apna handset badal le, ya naya IMEI hamare center se prapt karein. Center ki jankari ke liye type kare HS Pincode aur sms kare 121 pe.

                        Airtel — Asking for IMEI

                        It is ridiculous for Airtel to ask for my IMEI and even threatened me to stop the services from the 25th November 2009 as per Government directives.

                        My mobile phone is a NOKIA 1202 and the required IMEI is already there and I do not understand how AIRTEL issued such statements that I should buy a new phone.

                        Is Airtel channelling some mobile phones company for this purpose ? Or are they connected with the sales of mobile phone ?

                        Please reply and in case no reply is forthcoming the matter will be taken up through RTI, for issuing such threats.

                        I am asking NOKIA also to challenge this because it will affect the sales of their products.
                        I also received the same SMS on my Nokia 1209.
                        I am using rage mobile which has got dual sim option, when i purchased the mobile, i only purchased rage because out of all the china made mobiles it was the only on which was offering me an IMEI number and one year warranty. But nowadays Airtel is continuously disturbing me asking for getting my IMEI number validated.

                        My sim 1 is Idea: Which has not disturbed me till now,
                        My sim 2 is Airtel: disturbing me by sending messages

                        I called up the validating centre in my city he told me that i will be charged Rs 299 for this.
                        Then i checked it online and found out that Vodafone is charging much less for validating the IMEI no. Rs 199.

                        Where lies the problem ? (Is it with rage/ Airtel)?
                        I purchased my phone, Motorola Rokr Z6 from Radio centre Alleppey about 2 yrs before.im using airtel sim in it.from last few weeks i'm recieving messsages from airtel that my phone does not have a valid IMEI number.i talked with the shop owner from i brought my phone, he sats that he don't know about what had happenned.Then i talked with customer care airtel and the gave me the format to get the nearest shop where i can validate it.when i called these shop located at Kottayam, they say that even they don't know how to validate it or they know any place where it is done.As per the message the phone will not operate in any network after November 30th 2009.Tell me what should i do..im ready to pay Rs 199 which they say for validating, but nobody knows where it is done.i don't want to lose my precious phone.

                        It seems Operators are not updating there IMEI Data base on regular basis. A set which has been verfied with VALID IMEI in UAE is being verified INVALID in India.

                        Most of the problem is on part of operators and not manufacturer.

                        Just sue the operator through Consumer council, in case of disconnection. If IMEI is invalid, manufacturer will have to compensate you and if Operator verifies it to be wrong, they will be in problem.

                        Don't worry, operators will not disconnect the phone. Its just they want to sell their operator logo handset to you.
                        Do Airtel give me new mobile for free if I am using China mobile ?

                        It has valid IMEI number but, this people are sending constant messages.

                        And it is also news that they are charging some fees to get IMEI number.

                        This shows that they are beggars searching for ways to dube over money.

                              I activated the new airtel gprs scheme by dialling *567# the scheme was a Rs.89 scheme which gives 100mb usage and 2gb during night it has a validity of 1 month.I activated it on 28 nov 09,and rs.89 was deducted from my account and it worked properly but at 12am i got a msg from airtel saying the validity was over,but I was supposed to have a validity of 1 month.I cant contact customer support.when i dial 5 for gprs assistance it says.thx for calling.

                              Airtel Prepaid — Problem in GPRS night plan

                              I have activated gprs night plan.where as per plan i should get 100mb data in day(8.01am-12pm) and 2gb data in remaining time ie night but even if i use gprs in night time as per plan the data amount used deducts from day time balance only.I called customer care several times but they are not ready to help in any way . custemer executive says it deduct from night data usage only and not ready to listen anything.
                              This problem is with everyone using this plan. This is a fishy plan by Airtel to cheat peoples.

                              Airtel — PROBLEM IN USING THE RC89 GPRS SERVICE

                              My issue is as follow:
                              On 7th Dec 2009 I received the SMS from AZ-Promo the SMS was "GPRS on RC89. Recharge to enjoy 100 MB 30 days (between 8am-11.59pm) and 2GB 30 days (12midnight-8am). After free usage download charges on gprs [protected]@30p 50KB".

                              On 9th Dec 2009 I recharged with the voucher 89 to availing the GPRS service and started using it. For this I got the 102 Rs INR for 100 MB usage in between ( 8am-11.59pm).

                              Complain: When I use the GPRS before 8 am and after 12 midnight then the amount is detected from the 100MB day usage balance. When i tried to contact customer care then i am not able.

                              that means we are not getting the 2 GB free for night use. it is absolutely fraud with the Customers.
                              My issue is as follow:

                              I have been using Airtel mobile [protected] ( Prepaid) for the past 8years. 3 months back I received an sms regarding GPRS offer stating that on easy recharge with Rs.98 I can get 100mb free per month. I recharged with Rs98 and started using GPRS. Later on another offer introduced stating that 100mb per month free between 8.00 am to 11.55pm and 2gb free between 12.00am to 8.00am. I recharged with Rs 98 and two separate accounts were provided for checking the data usage. That is *123*10# for checking the day time browsing within 100mb and *125*4# for checking the Night time in 2gb free browsing. I made several clarifications from your customer care office executives with regard to this and I was made to understand that the above offer is not having any terms and conditions. And the data reduction will be on the respective individual accounts based on the time of browsing.

                              While this is so I found that for the browsing done by me between 12am to 8am, data usage was also reduced from the day time account namely 100mb free account also apart from the data amount shown in the 2gb free night account. Some times it was correctly deducted from the 2gb data account but several times it was also deducted from the 100mb main account.

                              I made several complaints to your customer care executives starting from 19.11.2009 onwards and none of them had given any solution to my grievance. Infact, nearly 180mb was deducted from my 100mb free account which I recharged regularly every month. One of your customer care executives admitted that there was some system fault and they have received number of similar complaints form other customers also and once it was rectified from the wrong data deducted from 100mb will be reduced and asked me to wait for 3days to 5 days time.,

                              I waited patiently for 4 to 5 days. Thereafter your customer care executives when contacted stated that there is no fault on their side and they can’t help me fro restoring the wrong deducted data to my account. I was little surprised with the response and asked them to find out the solution and rectify the issue.

                              When the said problem was not yet solved another problem arrived in front of me. On 6.12.2009, about Rs.250 was deducted from my account and my balance was reduced from Rs.250 and add to Rs.0.08/ I immediately called your customer care executive and they promised me to solve the problem. From 8.12.2009 onwards I have been waiting for my problem to be solved. Till date no solution. In fact on last Sunday, your customer care people called and informed me that their system not yet updated and requested me to wait for another 3 days time. Again I contacted on Friday I was asked to wait till 21.12.2009.

                              From 06.12.2009 I have not recharged my mobile and hence I was not able make any out going call expecting further confusion from your side suppose If I recharge. I am totally disappointed with your attitude in solving the customer’s problem. So I request you to take immediate action in this issue and restore my GPRS data which was wrongly deducted and the amount of Rs.250/ which was deducted without having any reason.

                              I have complete screen shots taken from my N73 mobile to show how the data was wrongly deducted from my main account of 100mb instead of 2gb free account for the browsing between 12am to 8 am. If necessary I will send it. I think hope your understand the issue and problem in detai8eld manner and any further clarification not required,

                              So, I request you to take immediate action in this matter.

                              Dear Mr. Abhijeet Kumar Gupta. How can you say ilke that. then what for customer care is being there. That means you are admitting your mistakes but not giving back the amount to the customer means I dont understand your so called policy. If we 5the customers never asked you to give us any offer. For the sack of promoting your business you are offering. But when you are committing mistakes, you have to rectify it at any cost. you hand abandon the customer by washing your hands. If you are expecting complaints to be flooded in that is not our mistakes form the customers. That is your fault in providing bad service. Hope you understand.

I think it is a worst custmore care and same its services. Difinitely now i want to take TATA SKY or other services, at least they not cheat people.                                     Airtel — Deactivation of unwanted sms

                                    My mother who is 72 years old has a prepaid airtel mobile. Without her knowldge she pressed something and she has been receiveing news,cricket scores and many more sms each at a cost of Rs 5. Unfortunately she has been travelling in india and paying heavy price for this. Contacted the customer services with great difficulty managed to speak to a person who could help her to deactivate the same what was SHOKING is she told me it would take 45 days to deactivate. A lady who lives alone on her pension cannot afford this kind of expence. It has become a punishment for her to own a mobile which was for a purpose as she is living on her own and not for luxury. TOTALLY UNHAPPY WITH YOUR 121 SERVICES which goes on and on rather giving an option to talk to the customer care a real waste of time.

                                        Continued telemarketing calls and messages despite NDND regn

                                        I had registered for NDND(National Do Not Disturb) on 27th Sept 09. Regn No. A[protected]. Even after clear 45 days, I am being harassed by unwanted hello tune marketing calls from [protected],[protected] everyday. I have followed up with floor managers Mr. Sunil and Ms Rashmi. of Airtel. I am promised of remedy within 8hrs, 4hrs etc of my protest but to no avail. I have recorded all the request nos. What is to be done to make the service provider...
