Hi

I was using Airtel brodband internet connection in chennai for 2 years from 07 to 09 and moved to bangalore on Aug 09 and placed a request for shifting of connection. Since the Area to which i have shifted is awaiting Airtel connection, i had no other option to cancel the connection.

For cancellation i think it is an herculian task with Airtel broadband. The Customer care does not seem to have enough knowledge or willingness and i was totally frustrated with the response i got.

I didnot expext this kind of very poor customer response from an company like Airtel, it is really pathetic. It is not sufficient if they have some stars like Sharuk khan etc. as their Brand ambassador to survive in the market and continue to provide this response.

I am really frustrated. I really wanted to disconnect the broad band connection with Airtel and stay in peace.

I was using Airtel brodband internet connection in karnal.i was call many time to costmaercare but their is no action take to disconet of broadband.
I didnot expext this kind of very poor customer response from an company like Airtel, it is really pathetic. It is not sufficient if they have some stars like Sharuk khan etc. as their Brand ambassador to survive in the market and continue to provide this response.

I am really frustrated. I really wanted to disconnect the broad band connection with Airtel and stay in peace.

    Subject :- Installation not happening at new location …[protected]
    Dear Sir,
    The mail is regarding the complaint for my airtel Digital TV, As from last four days I myself is calling at your helpline no. & wasting at least a hour with your call center people everyday, as the complaint is I have taken your digital TV connection in Jaipur but now I have been transferred to Rohtak so I had taken the setup box & dish tv along with me at Rohtak itself ..
    I have made the call at your helpline no. on 20/8/09 and told them about the installation at my new address they have taken all my details along with my new address, which now I had given them for more then 5 times, they have told me about the charges of 600 Rs will be deducted from my account balance I accept that condition immediately & they have made the entry in my account by that day only & confirmed me that their engineers will visit at my new address in Rohtak by 11.30 morning on 21/8/2009, but unfortunately nobody has visited at my place, after that I am regularly calling at your helpline every time they gives me the complaint no. & giving me the assurance that their people will visit along with the timings, We are waiting for them everyday & nobody is visiting …
    Now the water has passed my head & I claim a compensation from airtel for wasting my four days along with the mantel harassment your call center people has given me & how could you debit my account when the installation has not been completed till now ..
    I really fill that I have done a blunder mistake of choosing airtel digital TV connection when there are so many other options are available in the market..
    Kindly revert me with a proper solution along with the compensation other wise, I DO NOT HAVE ANY ANOTHER OPTION TO GO TO THE CONSUMER COURT..

      Dear All,

      I got Airtel DIGITAL TV with my Samsung LCD as free gift. I applied for installation of the same on 4th August, From That date biggest nightmare of my life started. Complete detail is mentioned herewith.

      This email i sent to AIRTEL people:

      Dear Airtel,

      First of all thanks a lot for your Airtel Digital TV, India’s most pathetic DTH service provider.

      Now your first question is why you got this appreciation from your just 10 days old customer?

      For your understanding I hereby describing whole story one by one:

      1. FOR INSTALLATION: I got this DIGITAL TV free with my Samsung LCD TV. As per AIRTEL voucher, for installation I have to contact on your toll free no[protected] or toll no[protected]. But your call centre executives says that since RAIPUR is tier 3 town as per your classification so on phone they will not help me out, I have to talk to nearest dealer for installation, and dealers say that since this is not bought from there so they are not helping me for installation. After doing lots of effort from my TV vendor (Lotus Electronics) I got my customer ID [protected] on 4th August 2009. From that day one of worst nightmare of my life started.
      2. Since installation (i.e. on 06th which was promised on SMS was 05th) I raised 7 customer complaints for not able to view channel on DTH. Each and every query get closed in AIRTEL system with prescribed TAT but without any information to customer. All time I got the SMS that your so and so request has been successfully resolved. And when I raised the issue with call centre than they put lots of technical jargons like:
      (a) Every call having 2 level of closure, when we raised the call to engineer they close the call that they will resolve the issue, and 2nd level when they actually resolve the issue- MOST interesting fact of this is that customer is getting SMS on 1st level of closure but he haven’t get any message for 2nd level resolution. ONE more interesting fact is that AIRTEL every compliant close well within TAT. Suppose your raise the issue, call centre executive will gives your one call reference no that will also comes on your mobile through SMS with expected time at which call has been resolve. And just 5 or 10 minute before the schedule time of closure you will get the SMS that your call has been successfully resolved. As per call centre executive, this SMS is generated when engineer take a appointment from customer. But believe me and you can check my mobile’s incoming call details that not a single time I got a call from AIRTEL DIGITAL TV for my concern before the closure SMS.
      (b) Raipur-492001 is tier 3 city, so we are not having any access over the technical support team over their. And if you fell that your complaint is not resolved properly than you have to raise the issue with AIRTEL dealer. – SO from this we can say that, since we are leaving in one of state capital of India, even though AIRTEL people will not serve. We have to chase them for resolutions. And nearest dealer says that this system is not buy from us than why should we serve you? So final resolution if your lives in tier 3 city don’t buy AIRTEL since they will not serve you.
      3. Final and most interesting information about local engineers of AIRTEL who serve you. They are most unprofessional link in entire AIRTEL structure. When they come to your home you can not indentify them since they are not carrying any Identity card. When you ask about this they say you need installation or card? All engineers and service coordinators provide you their personal number for future issue. And when you called them they just do not want to talk to you. They will talk when they want. Their local centre in-charge MR ABHIJEET (PHONE[protected] threaten you that you should talk to their engineers with care else they will do what they want, since they are not CALL CETRE EXECUTIIVE, they are the person who serve us they can do with you (in other words Local AIRTEL people hired rowdy people like local cablewalas) so its better to take cable connection rather to opt for new edge DTH from AIRTEL.

      So I think what I want to say is laud and clear to you all guys. I need following clarification if you people can provide me:

      1. Since installation I am not at all satisfy with AIRTEL since all channel are not showing properly. So are you going to extent my package validity by 16 days. Since finally they change one spare part on 22nd itself, after that I can see the channels.
      2. What type of actions you are going to take against your local Team (includes Manager Mr Abhijeet, Co-coordinator Mr Raghvendra Sharma, both engineers Mr Bolendra and Mr Vinay Singh) for misbehaving with me. If these people will there in system in future than I will not continue my relationship with AIRTEL any more.
      3. For mental tension of 16 days that given by you to me, by what manner you are going to compensate to me.
      4. What type of technical and system changes you are going to take for not repeating these types of incidence.
      5. I am very surprise that only one level of escalation is available in your system. That is NODAL officer, who doesn’t reply and your call centre executive also not having any phone no of him (Mr. Manish Kumar).

      Note: If you want to check all facts and figure than I hereby authorized you to please check my Mobile call detail of no [protected], how many times I raise the issue with your call centre team and how many times your people respond to me.

      My various service request details are hereunder:

      1. 959992 – dated 22/08 (for this I haven’t receive any resolution SMS)
      2. 958024 – dated 21/08 ( as per SMS resolved at 9.25AM on 22/08)
      3. 950649 – dated 19/08 ( as per SMS resolved at 20/08)
      4. 939776 – dated 16/08 ( as per SMS resolved at 16/08 itself)
      5. 923606 – dated 11/08 ( as per SMS resolved at 11/08)
      6. 918281 – dated 09/08 ( as per SMS resolved at 09/08)
      7. 911573 – dated 07/08 ( as per SMS resolved at 07/08)
      8. 907712 – dated 06/08 this is call for late installation (This was also closed in system much prior to actual installation.

      Finally last time waiting for your some concrete steps and positive reply.

      I will wait till this week end else I will surrender you DTH by crushing hardware and put the video of the same on You-tube with complete story.

        Corrupted data card sold

        Sir,
        I wanted to purchase Airtel Datacard and for the same I contacted airtel customer care. Later I was contacted by one of their rep. Named Mahak telling me that she was working with airtel Okhal office . She got my enquiry an on Data card and thus she would like to sell me the datacard. She tried hard to sell me Beetel data card at the discounted rate of 2800. She insited on having a cash payment so that it can be delivered fast. As I was using airtel connection from the last 8 years i trusted her and bought the same. It was delivered to me on19/06/09 against the payment of Rs.2800. I was also contacted by airtel to buy sim card for the same purpose. I bought that too..After 3-4 days data card stopped working. I started calling up customer care. However, to my shock i got to know that the data card which i have with me is corrupted and airtel no more supports it. When i asked them to replace it they said that they will do the same in a week’s time.I kept on calling them, everytime i got the same reply, no action was taken until one day i discovered a known person working with airtel office. I finally explained to him the problem on 18 th of august, . He than found out that the data card was sold to me by one of their agents by the name of karshni Solutions, having their office in gaziabad. Mehak used to work there. He than arranged to have the data card replaced . They asked me to pay them a higher amount as the prices were escalated.
        In the mean time i kept on getting bills for the sim card. I told them several times that i never used it and so they should block it. However, they refused to take any responsibility and said that they have nothing to do with the data card division.

        I really want legal action against them for selling me the corrupted datacard and later denying to take any responsibility.This was harassing for me.

        airtel data card — Harassment

        Daer All

        I had a Data Card from Airtel and presently disconnected. When I applied for this card, I was asked to submit one month advance rental of Rs. 999.00. The same was given to their authorised outlet.

        The cheque was cleared by my bank and the fund was deducted for which i have a statement of Bank.

        Every month then on the bill would reflect that Rs. 999.00 is pending and not paid.

        After few months of regular visits to their outlet, I could not get the matter resolved. They used to regularly give me numbers.

        I got fed up and requested for discontinuing the service which was done on17th June.

        I had paid all balance amount on date as per Ms. Namrata of Neptune Infocomm { Airtel Outlet}. I was also told that no outstanding to be paid.

        Surprisingly on 08th October, I recieved a notice from an advocate at Pune that they would proceed legally if a balance amount of Rs. 1897.30 is not paid within 7 days.

        Again I visited their outlet and spoke to Ms. Namrata on 10th October 2008. The advance cheque issue is yet to settle and additional bill has been made for the period afer discontinuation of service.

        They have again given me request nos. saying that the matter will be taken care of and no payment is to be made by me.


        I'm confused whether I should proceed legally for stopping this harrassment from Airtel.

        Can any one suggest a better option.


        I would request all other customers to be careful with Airtel.

          Engineer visit charges

          My customer id : [protected]-001. I am not able to receive any signal. Airtel is asking Rs. 100 for engineer visiting charges. Why should it charge me anything, Digital TV is a service it is providing me same as broadband and not a hardware sale like set top box or computer or TV (airtel doesn’t charge any engineer visiting charges for broadband) . If the set top box is not working after 6 months warranty then I should pay but if there...

          HI,
          this is SUSHIL BOUNTHIYAL i m a postpaid customer of airtel since almost 2 years, on 8th of august 2009, i paid 2630/rs. by cash against my airtel bill (bill period 20june09 to 19jul09) at the airtel store(airtel exclusive outlet) at link road, malad west. but it did not credited to my account till 22nd august, and the airtel company barred my outgoing for nonpayment of the bill. i mailed them, visited to the airtel relationship centers at kandivali west and malad west but in vain...pls help.

            My name is K Lakshminarayanan having Airtel Post paid mobile +91-[protected]. This number was not working since 19th August 2009. The reason is not known still.

            When I asked the following people,

            1. Mr. Gunasekaran - [protected]
            2. Mr. Rajasekaran - [protected]
            3. Mr. Anoop - [protected]

            they are clueless, saying it is live status in our system. But when somebody dials the number +91-[protected] it says " This number does not exist". When it is Live status, this is not the message you get. This is really contracdicting.

            Imagine if person in a position as National Account Manger for a corporate with mobile inactive for 4-5 days.

            Absolutely pathetic service. If someone could initiate this problem and sort out the same by today.

            Every time I have to call the above persons and no one returned my calls.

            I am also prepared the documents to make an official complaint in the Consumer protection cell in chennai.

            Awaiting your action.

              Dear Sir/Mam,

              Today i.e. 19th October' 2009, I recharged my airtel prepaid no. [protected] for Rs. 51 having a scheme of reduced rates for local and STD call for Rs. 50 Paisa for Local and 60 Paisa for STD.Then I told to your authorized dealer to recharge my phone by Rs. 60. but he didn't tell me about the another plan of Rs. 60 run by your company and he then recharge my phone with the another scheme of Rs. 60, in which the calling rates are reduced only for local area @ 60 Paisa and STD rates remains the same @ Rs. 1.50 (All calling rates are charged at Per Minute).
              Then I told the dealer to rectify his mistake and activate the scheme of Rs. 51 and recharge my phone by Rs. 60 BUT he refused to do so. THEN, I contacted to the customer care and inform them about all the incident happened with my brother and they also didn't help me.

              Please help me out in this concern, It's not the matter of only Rs. 51 BUT it's the matter of CHEATING WITH CUSTOMERS.

                I have a satellite office in Delhi and all my work happens on ‘net’ today. But my broad band has not been working properly for 20 days. Low signal problem and net signal keeps breaking.



                Since 2 days, no proper signal at all. I have called again and again. No one has visited my house. On top of that I got a sms on my cell saying your problem has been resolved. When no one came how the problem can be resolved.



                I have had an experience with AIRTEL which reminded me of MTNL days.



                I called Call Centre this morning 4 times between 8:45am to 9am. Twice no one picked up phone. Once some one picked up they didn’t talk. Again I called it went into Interactive voice and the person then dropped the call. Finally 5th time I spoke this girl and she logged a new complain.



                My complain no have been 19th Aug – 23329394 at 11:30am

                21st Aug – 23379011 at 9:30am

                21st Aug – I called around 5pm but this person didn’t register my complain. I wanted to escalate the problem and speak to the Manager, but I was given some story by this person and was not made to talk with anyone.

                22nd Aug – 23419958 at around 9:10am this morning. talk time 11 mins 5 secs



                Since 15days my net was weak, I called Shiv- the Airtel rep some 10 days back on his cell. He said he will come and check but never turned up. I may not have called him but these people, Amit and Shiv, who service Nimri Colony area from Airtel Pitampura office have provided us their own no’s for help. So I did. One day in between they came but left as no one was at home though we told them to come after 11am.



                Even at this moment my problem has not been resolved. I would definetly inform the higher ups as they should know what is happening on the ground. All this is very bad for Bharti’s reputation and irks customers.

                  actually i got a message from ur side that a java game has been downloaded on ur mobile n rs 99 have been deducted twice...i didnt first of all download d game n didnt even receive it...i recently got my bill n rs 200 were added to it.i called ur customer care representative n she assured me to solve d problem.now wen i call up dey r teln 2 pay the whole amount inclusive of rs 200 which i havent downloaded...plz do look into the matter as soon as possible...i have 2 pay d whole amount r pay rs 200 less, , , pplz do reply fast..thanks, ,

                    HI,
                    I AM AIRTEL PREPAID CUSTMER & MY MOBILE NUMBER IS [protected],
                    I receive a call daily from 290601 at around 7.30 - 9.00 IST as well as a message and balance gets deducted
                    I have called customer care many times but of no use, they are not able to solve this issue


                    Please cancel this scheme as soon as possible. It is irritating me.

                    I am facing the same problem. I have contacted Cust Care immense number of times. Every diff person gave me diff advice. I followed each and one but without any joy. I sent sms STOP, I tried calling the number. One of the advisor even promised me the service will stop immediately. But nothing has happened. And even here I see this complaint hasn't been addresses. Can we say that Airtel does no longer care ? Or do they have so many complaints to attend to that they are short of resources to take care of them individually ?
                    I sincerely hope this query is sorted

                      hellooo i m using airtel friendz card of no [protected] from past 1yr the call rate was 15p for 5numbers and that numbers can be changed anytime and the daily rental was 1rs... from last month airtel started special 5 for normal airtel customers which changed 5rs for changing 1number, call rate was 20p and daily rental is 50p, so bcoz of this i gave a complaint to airtel customer care they told ur profile has been reseted and now u r enjoy ur old scheme but still now my scheme is not changed so plz look in this issue and try to resolve it as soon as possible

                        Indian telecom regulatory board TRAI had introduced a feature to all the mobile operators that if the customer wishes and activates the "do not disturb" feature(to be provided free of cost) then no promotional calls/advertisement SMS should be sent to that number.

                        Despite that critical information such as company details, address, residence address, family members details etc are circulated to vendors. I got calls within a week of activating my new airtel number and got lots of call from credit card and insurance companies. (My brother who bought a similar connectio around the same time from Airtel didnt get any call. Catch: He applied as a college student!!!)

                        To take the DND feature of airtel, you have to send an SMS to them after which they take 45 days to deactivate the feature. In the meantime, I get bombarded with still more calls and text messages from a lot of companies for which I might have been a prospective customer.

                        Today after about 5 months of activation that system, I still get text messages on promotions and offers.
                        Worse so that I got a message from a local politician on the day before of election seeking votes (a criminal offence per se).

                        The customer care executives cannot explain the reason but I seriously doubt whether Airtel compromises the security of its customers by sharing/selling the vital customer information. I am writing to TRAI as well with this complaint.

                        I am having the same problem. When I tried to register again for do not disturb this morning, I got a message saying I am already registered since 27/08/2007 vide registration no-F[protected] !

                        Then why are they not able to stop these irritating messages?
                        Terrible service. Waiting for number portability and will definitely NOT continue with airtel if this continues.

                          1. I was cheated first by an agent who came to my place made false commitments n gave a wrong plan details n sold me 3 sim cards n promised intercalling between these 3 numbers would be free.He gave me his number n did not respond to my caals.
                          Moreover Airtel Customer Care service denied the fact by saying that its an agency agent and have got nothing to do with him n denied to compensate

                          Later i had to visit airtel gallaries many a times to get my coonection converted from post paid to preaid where again i paid n found dat i was cheated again regarding call rates.

                          2.I deactivated my post paid number n should have recieved the deposite back in 45 days but havent still recieved after 3 months, later on requesting they replied that it was adjusted in my bill which was nt so.

                          3.Moreover very bad service got 2 faulty sims twice n had to visit myself to gallery
                          I have waisted a lot of money n time for many troubles

                            Respected Sir, I want to unsubscribe airtel wap services from my mobile [protected], as this has become a big headache for me everytime the balance amont is being debited(20/-).I have tried so many times but of no use.So many people have been suffering from the same problem.I don't know what the Government is doing? I request you to help me in this regard..Thanking you...

                              Hi,
                              I am using Airtel postpaid number for more than One and half year. My number is suddenly disconnected and it shows "Sim Registeration failed". I have called from friend's number so many time to 121 but I didnt get any response from Aitel. I had also written mails to Customer support but never got any satisfactory reply from them . Even nodal office (Asif ) hasnt replied with vaild reason why my number is not working.

                              It took them 2 weeks to find out that my number is disconnected because of some internal changes in system and I need to apply for new number without any fault of mine.

                              Even after all this, these support people are asking me to deposit bill for the duration that my number was not working.

                              Can anybody give me a vaild explanation ????

                                my self Sunil Seelay Add. H No. 2026, Sec-16, Faridabad. i applied for Internet Wy-fi connection. MR. Mahender, (Airtel Employee) came to my home i asked him for hi-fi inernet connection he told me about hi-fi connection plan of Rs. 998/- unlimited download for a period of month @ speed 512 kbps for this i paid him Rs. 1500/- in cash and he told me that the Airtel connection with Wy-fi internet connection will be activate in 2 days, but nobody came from Airtel Company for installation. After 4 days Mr. Gautam came to my home and installed the Land Line Airtel Connection No. 4074014 with landline modem internet connection. when i asked him about wy-fi connection than he told me that wy-fi setup is out of stock and he will managed that wy-fi instrument in 2-4 days. Than i asked him about the speed of landline modem for internet connection, he told me that speed of landline connection is 256 kbps as equalent to the wi-fi system plan of Rs. 998/- than i told him that Mr. Mahender told me about speed of that plan is 512 kbps than I told to gautam how Mahender misguide me about the wi-fi connection plan.
                                Than Mr. Gautam told me that the speed of 256 kbps is also sufficient to you but i refused that i dont want landline modem connection than he told me that you used that landline modem connection instead of wi-fi connection and as soon as possible we provide you wi-fi connection due to unavailibility of wi-fi system but after installation of landline modem nobody came to mjy home to instal the wi-fi system in beetween i call them many times to disconnect the my Airtel Connection No. 4074014 than i recieved many calls from the Airtel company and every time i told him for disconnection of the connection and refund of payment but today i got a massage on dated 21.08.2009 from Airtel Customer Care account No. 15035487 and amount Rs. 1018 payment due date 07.09.2009.
                                I want to know from U when the company didnot install wi-fi system in commitment time and also in earlier i told him many time that i dont want to use Wi-fi system because delaying in installation of wi-fi system and misguiding me about the plan by Mr. Mahender in earlier so i requested you to disconnect my connection and refund me the payment

                                  Dear Sir,
                                  i received a sms from 64611030 on 20/08/2009 at 8.58pm that is "thanks for using(Misc, Miscellaneous) subscription service on Airtel WAP. You have been charged Rs.30.Enjoy http://gculb.in." but i did't subscribe any this type of service.
                                  When i contact to airtel custumer care 121 to know about this UNWANTED subscription one says that u r using the funzone service on airtel wap(at 11.52 am 21/08/2009) and cut the phone than i again tried to this no.and the 2nd one named ramakant said that u r using ringtone subscription.
                                  Sir now i want a specify answer or my 30ty rupees back. Oterwise i will contact to the consumer court.

                                    If Airtel do this kind of Poor service to their Clients Then I am going to inform all my people to disconnect Airtel connection. May be they are not aware the potential of my Cliental. Since I am a Manager Marketing I can very well do marketing against Airtel Services. As long as they delay service for my complaint, they are making it worse thats all I can advise.

                                      I, Koushik Chakraborty is a good customer of Airtel Prepaid service, Mobile no - [protected]. Also I have already used your NOP ( Net On Phone) service in my N79 handset. There is a option of Free Java Games. I have been downloading some free games with the help of your above service. Now question is that. Is there any hidden charges for downloading those free games? It has been chaged 50/- from my a/c. Kindly look into the matter and revese the amount if possible from your end.

                                      hi this is one of airtel prepaid customer no [protected] owner in the name of vaudhaMP... my complaint is about they are taking hidden charges from my account with out any reason... and more over for calling to customercare services also amount is cutting down from my main account... if i call to customercare no 121 and for karnataka [protected] the answer machine will respond and if i choose talk to customrcare option it is not at all connecting to any of customercare representative.... kinldy replay and solve my problem as soon as possible...
                                      Hello Sir, [protected] is my airtel No. and I have recharged with Rs 149 Booster. but yesterday on 9-12-09 I was charged for all the SMS (around 300 sms) I have send. Inspite of having charged booster I am unjustly charged for my sms. kindly rectify and reply to me.

                                      i received the sms from airtel saying unlimited free games & apps on 14 /7 my mobile no is [protected] so i activated the sms sent by airtel sudden
                                      i saw Rs 99/- amount was deducated from my balance.so i request you to
                                      cancel the unlimited free games which was activated & recredit the Rs 99/-
                                      to my mob no [protected] at earliest.
