Dear Sir/Madam

I applied a personal loan in ICICI bank but after a week bank refused to give personal loan & gave reason o[censored]npaid amount of credit card of Rs.29582.They told me, in past i have used credit card of other bank & till date i have not cleared the amount & right now CIBIL is showing my name in record.I have also applied loan in other bank but no bank is ready to give me loan due to less CIBIL score.
But i have never applied or used credit card of any bank in my life & from past i am using only debit card.
In last i contacted to CIBIL office where i got some information related to this credit card.I find that any unknown person have used credit card of BARCLAYS BANK by using my name & pan card no.The record showing my name (Vipul Sharma) & Pan card ,which is correct but other information related to address(residential & office),email-id.& contact no. was wrong.

How could any unknown person make the credit card by using the documents of other person & how bank can issue credit card on receiving wrong documents.

I am living in DELHI from last 7 yrs..But document submitted in record showing address of noida & andamans which i have never seen.

For discuss this issue of credit card i contacted at Barclays Bank,Nehru Palace branch where i could not get any satisfactory response. Bank told me to contact Kotak Mahindra Bank,Vikas puri where he will help me to sought out my problem as now Kotak bank has take over barclays bank & responsible for all communication.Now i don't know which bank will resolve this issue either barclays bank or kotak bank.
Kindly resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Barclay Bank Credit Card — WONG INFORMATION

Dear Sir,

My name is ANKIT GUPTA. Presently in am living in rudrapur uttaranchal.
I have a complaint against BARCLAY BANK.

Two years back i was living in greater noida n applied two credit cards one was from ICICI bank n another was from HDFC bank n after some time i got those credit cards.

Now after two years Barclay Bank made a communication to me that i have got a credit card of barclay bank and some amount over that card is pending. it is approx Rs.3200/-

And due to not paying the amount my civil report has been spoiled.

Even i never received any kind of credit card from barclay bank.

They are saying that they have my paper in their records.

Twice they communicated me the same problem and i made request them to check where and to whome they have delever the credit card.....

where n when payment has been done thru this credit card.... and then make me confirm what is the problem....

even i dont know the number of that card...

if i have received the card n they have proof of that.....i ll pay them amount....

but bank is disturbing me..... and spoiling my civil record.

plse look in the matter and suggest me what to do.?

its CIBIL not civil - CIBIL is an agency which records the transaction of credits which includes credit cards and loans.

You can get you CIBIL report from cibil by paying just 142/-rs anyways ask Barklays bank the card number and ask that guy to get the full information about the card demand a copy of complete file from application to approval to delivery to till date statement.

Tell that guy point blank do whatever they want and warn them to be ready for a rbi action from banks ombudsmen and criminal cases against them.

To me it seems that there is a gang operating who collects information about people and they show up fake statements
should file a case against the bank. How can they approve for a credit card without proper verifying.

    i got call from person from delhi police say he has arrest warrant against me and gave a number for Sheetal Jain Advocate from chenai and delhi court she told me that i have payment due for 22000 of my credit card and case is going in chennai court against me. she told me make payment in Kotak Mahindra bank and i went to Kotak Mahindra bank defence colony delhi to make payment. The assistant Manager Namrata Tripathi talk to the number given by Sheetal jain . I also saw talk to some body to shiddhart G_= 9 vikaspuri , she mail from ARD KMPL . and she took paymet of 11000 from me but when i call to barclays they told me they have not recived any payment.


    Kotak Mahindra staff is also equally involve.

      To whom it may concern

      I have closed my account with Barclay (Abu Dhabi), in protest & after paying all that Barclay charged me, unfairly.

      I have received confirmation by Barclay that the account is closed.

      I have requested for the return of my deposit cheque & Barclay has stated that this is not necessary, since there are no outstanding dues.

      Barclay has afterwards called me, apologised and said they have reversed the late payment charge in order to entice me to continue with the bank. I refused. Please take the money I don't need it!!!!

      I have been repeatedly pestered by Barclay. I made a complaint. Number UAE 1199850 and was sent an sms saying it is resolved!!!! Nobody called me, nobody gave me a copy of the complaint and the message sent by Barclay does not say anything else just that it is resolved!!!!!

      After that, continuous sms/ emails that I have outstanding payments & threating me to legal proceedings!!!!! How dare you?!

      Now, I'm warning you people. Stop harassing me! Just take my money and go away. Otherwise I seek legal action against you and will also contact the press.

        I, Neelesh Kumar Singh, having pan card no -BGAPS6893Q. There is
        some problem in my CIBIL basically there default showing over
        there.


        Rupees of Rs. 112797

        Which is on my Barclays bank's credit card, For this i want to inform
        you people that i never applied for credit card and bank issued a
        card for me, someone else ( i don't know) had received that card and
        used it fully unfortunately that person made some payment to
        credit card ( I know this thing when got a call from collection
        department of Barclays bank) latter on i asked to Barclays bank that
        please give me the detail of that transaction via you people got any
        payment for my card & i asked to Barclays bank for any charge slip or
        card delivery POD (Proof of delivery) at my address but Barclays bank
        not ready to give any charge slip or Any POD detail. apart this they
        did send me any credit card statement during that time when
        transaction was happening.

        After full used of my card person who used card sent it to my place
        where i received (CARD NO. - "[protected]") it by approx date
        of august or September of 2008. then after Barclays bank started send
        card statement to me and they call me so many time even i went to
        Barclays bank's office at nehru place for filling the dispute form
        Barclays bank did not take any action against my complain.


        Now for this default which i have not done, i am facing huge
        problem in my job changing and i am not able to get loan.

        please give me the solution to
        get clean-chit from CIBIL..

            I had a credit card with Barclays Bank and had availed EMI payment option through ECS which I wanted to close by making one time full payment. After requesting for the same I was asked to pay Rs. 23,072/- on 16/6/2010 and in that month statement they also charged prepayment charges. Inspite of making complete payments ON 16/6/10 an ECS presentation was made to my Bank account on 28/6/2010 and also in following months.

            Then I was told by bank telephone caller that some preclosure charges are still left so card has not got deactivated and I need to make another amount of Rs. 700/- and that was made on 12/8/2010. Still another call came in month of Sept. 2010 for payments and when I explained the entire matter they arranged a call from Barclays Bombay Collection dept. and Mr. Sunil Sharma who apologised for the troubles incurred and assured that card will be closed and I can tear the card by making one last payment of Rs. 110/- which was made on 19/9/2010. But till now the account is yet not closed and in my CIBIL records it reflects non payments.

            Barclays — Closing of credit card

            I have made payment of Rs. 8389 through ICICI cheque No. 446224 for my last credit card bill on 30.11.10. But next day i got a message from you that my cheque has been dishonoured by some reason. I called to your Customer care several times for reason but they were unable to tell reason but they said since i have got a message so i have to pay another cheque. Then i talked to customer care of ICICI, they said that Barclays has sent them scan copy of cheque and that is not my fault. After that I made a online payment of Rs. 8389 on 03.12.10. My transaction ID was MICI[protected]. and i have stopped the cheque. Then I got a msg from Barclays that payment of Rs. 8389 has been made for card no.-XXXXXXXXXXXX0017. The issue was over that day. But yesterday i.e, on 07.12.10 i again got a message from Barclays again that my cheque no.-446224 has been bounced for payment stopped by drawer. Now this is the limit of stupidity. When i talked to Customer care they said i have to pay Cheque bounce charge.

            Pl resolve this... I am not going to pay any amount.Pl close my credit card bcz i don't want to continue with Barclays. I have cleared all my debit before last payment date.

              Barclay priority charges membership.

              I was holding Barclay Bank Credit card and was using it. My Card No:[protected]. In the month of December 2009. I checked the bill and have seen that the bank has charged an amt of 6500 as Barclay Priority Circle fees, but I have not received any gift or any thing from Barclay.

              Very poor service and ECS hit before Due Date.
              I received a message in which it was mentioned that my ECS was of 2nd JAN 2010.But the same was hit on my account on 29th DEC 2009.And ECS bounced on account on Rupee 1 being less in my account.On coordination with Barclay's executive I was given to understand that the problem would be resolved shortly.But to date nothing seems to heve moved and now the outstanding amount payable by me has reached rs.46605.44.

              I complaint about the same to an executive no response, he said there will be no bounce charges.I asked about his employee id he refused, i asked abt call ref number he refused.

                I have availed a personal loan in Barclays Bank PLC on[protected] for Rs.4,89,000 for 48 EMIs x 14,364. Immediately within days I got major heart attack, diabetic attack and neuro attack. Doctors advised me to take complete bed rest while discharging. As soon as I discharged I have forced to close my business activity and in the process I have approached the Barclays Officials for cancel of my personal loan with all the medical documents & they have asked me to wait for some time for approval from their head office & promised after the approval they will pre-close the account.
                Sincerely I was following up regularly & waited patiently and on dot I have paid my first EMI Rs.14,364 on[protected] and requested them not to use the facility of electronic transfer being I am going to close the bank account. After negotiations one of the executive of Barclays agreed for settlement figure of Rs.4,55,000 & accordingly I have given cheques against proper receipts of Barclays DSA & requested for no due certificate for which they have promised to issue the same after realization of all the post dated cheques. With a trust I have agreed but unfortunately I have not received any certificate in last 3 years of closing of my loan account.
                Surprisingly since last 6 months I am receiving calls from Barclays executives from difference places & call centers including their DSAs and patiently I was explaining to them the background. Some of them said we will inform to concern authorities & we will come back to you but never they have turned up. Some people were talking rudely. In month of June this year I have received a legal notice from Barclays Advocate & I have replied back through my advocate.
                Again now & then I am receiving calls and patiently answering all of them and yesterday I have received call from one Mr. Rana [Mobile no. [protected]] and introduced himself as a officer of Delhi High Court and threatened me with a police action and guided me to talk to an advocate and given his name and phone number as PK Malhothra [Mobile no. [protected]] and to avoid tension and to get clarity I have called Mr. P.K. Malhothra and he is introduced himself as a Government appointed RBI Lawyer and warned me and threatened me and applied pressure on me to deposit Rs.30,000 in the ICICI bank account within 10 minutes and afterwords reduced the amount to Rs.10,000 and Rs.5,000. I was asking for his identity proof, connection with Barclays Bank, Details of case etc. He was not willing to give any details including bank account details, etc. Simply pressure me to rush to nearest ICICI Bank from there to call him and give the phone to any employee of ICICI Bank so that he will give the account number. I made my cousin & advocate to talk to him and Mr. Rana but their behaviour was not changed and the answer was just trust and deposit the amount otherwise Delhi police will come to Hyderabad and arrest me and present me in Delhi High Court.
                Since from yesterday I have faced heavy tension and pressure & resulted to sick [unbreathiness, abnormal increase of sugar & blood pressure levels] & I have forced to approach the cardiologist & he has called me tomorrow for complete check up and for tests.
                All these days, I was very sincere and honest and my goodness as misused by Barclays bank & taken me for a ride. Now I want to fight back and take up matter very seriously and I have registered complaint with customer care of barclays vide complaint no. 5370606 dt.[protected] & I have sent 3 mails to all the authorities of Barclays and Ombudsman of RBI, and I made complaint to Indian Consumer Complaint Forum and will continue to fight out by approaching as much as organizations & individuals for justice including media, human right commisions, any organization who are into consumer protection & legal aid organizations. If required I will make a complaint & take criminal action on Barclays as per the Law of this Land. Please support me in this fight of justice.
                Desired Outcome of the Complaint:
                The Barclays Bank has to provide me no due certificate immediately without any condition and withdraw cases if any filed by them anywhere in the Country and should take action on the callers made calls to me from Delhi and also have to take action on the executives involved in the settlement of my loan account[protected] and have to take action and their DSA Athithya Associates and have to give apology letter to me along with compensation for the harassment since last several months.

                  Aatif (ph no.[protected]) and Priya (ph. no.[protected]) both were involved in the complete procedure of personal loan documentation. Starting with low interest rate, low processing fee and no insurance plan they took the subject with high rates + insurance without knowing to me. They never discussed detailed loan charges. At finally they created their own rules and regulations and insurance policy was assigned to this personal loan. Now they give answer that we are not involved in this matter. This is total fraud by these people from Barclays Bank.

                      I am consumer availed personal loan facility from Barclays Bank and because of my heath conditions I forced to close my business activity in 2008, on my own approached Barclays Bank and after negotiations paid Rs.4,55,000 towards full and final settlement of pre closure of my loan account. Surprisingly, from last six months I am receiving calls from Barclays Bank for payment of EMI's, lot of persons are coming to my residence and creating nuisance, even I have received a legal notice etc., patiently I am answering all the calls, convincing the persons visiting me, providing the details of account closing receipts and replied to their notice. since from yesterday I am receiving threatening calls individuals who are identifying themselves as Government Advocates, High Court officials from Delhi. I have made several complaints orally to Barclays Bank since last 6 months but no response in turn legal action on me. Yesterday I forced to make complaint to all the concern of Barclays Bank and Ombudsman of RBI and today I have sent a reminder also and forced post my complaint in the Indian Consumer Complaint Forum for a justice and support.

                      The below are the 2 mails which I have sent to Barclays Bank, their officials and RBI:

                      I, Venugopal Cheela taken loan from your bank vide Loan account no.[protected]. I have made my payments in time upto August 2008, last amount paid before settlement is Rs.28,728 by cash towards 2 EMI’s wide Receipt No.22238 dt.[protected] through your authorized DSA M/s. Rohit Associates, Secunderabad as per the commitment.

                      In 2008, I felt very sick because of multiple complications combined with heart attack and diabetic related problems. Being doctors advised me to take complete bed rest and there is no other person to look after my businesses in my absence, which were also running under losses, I forced to close all my business activities to save my life and to avoid further losses, problems, tensions & complications.

                      As I am a principle person with ethics, I, by myself have approached all the Banks & individuals and explained them about my health & business position by showing the documents and came to an understanding with them for pre-closure of my loans under one time settlement [OTS] against the agreed payment after reaching an understanding on the settlement amount against proper receipts which includes closing of my personal loan account with your bank which I availed wide loan account no.[protected]. I have settled the account as per the understanding reached figure [under OTS] of Rs.4,55,000 which includes Cash, Post dated Cheques, DDs through your Authorized DSA M/s. Athithya Associates, Hyderabad in October 2008 itself after negotiating with your bank officials. As per the following details:

                      1. Paid by cash of Rs.15,000 vide Receipt No.68078 dt.[protected]

                      2. Paid by Cheque No.020599, Dt.[protected] for Rs.20,000 drawn on Indian Bank, S.D. Road branch, Secunderabad against Receipt No.68079 Dt.[protected]

                      3. Paid by Cheque No.020600, dt.[protected] for Rs. 20,000 drawn on Indian Bank, S.D. Road branch, Secunderabad against Receipt No.68080, dt.[protected]


                      4. Paid by Cheque No.020597* dt.[protected] for Rs.2,00,000 drawn on Indian Bank, S.D. Road branch, Secunderabad against Receipt No.68081, dt.[protected] [*The Cheque No.020597 for Rs.2,00,000 was dishonoured and we have issued a Demand Draft vide No.421088 dt.31-01-09 against the above said cheque for the same amount against the receipt no.115280 dt.[protected]]


                      5. Paid by Cheque No.020598 dt.[protected] for Rs.2,00,000 drawn on Indian Bank, S.D. Road branch, Secunderabad branch against Receipt No.68082, dt.[protected].

                      On the above mentioned final payment receipt, it is very clearly mentioned as “payment towards full and final settlement”. We have demanded for loan closure / no due certificate at the time of issuing cheques on[protected] but your executives convinced me by saying that you will get no due certificate automatically after realization of above mentioned final cheque dt.[protected]. [I am enclosing all the copies of receipts for your information.]

                      After clearance of the said cheque, I have called and reminded to your bank number of times for the issuance of no due certificate but unfortunately I have not received the same and I was under the opinion anyway the loan account is closed and I have the receipts for records and stopped following up after sometime.

                      After closing the account in 2008 I have no communication [or] call [or] any correspondence from your bank till first quarter of this calendar year and surprisingly I started receiving calls & messages from your bank officials, call center, DSAs for payment of EMIs for the account which is closed and patiently I was explained to all the callers who are calling me about the pre-closure of loan account and all the callers were responding that they will look into the matter but never I have relieved of this problem. Some of the callers were used dirty and filthy language and some of callers were promised me to settle my issue. In the process I have met your recovery executives of M/s. Athithya Associates, DSA and Some of your bank officials also. I have submitted the receipts for their records and verification for which they felt unhappy with the bank’s systems and convey to me that they will take up this matter to higher authorities and I have stopped getting calls and I was under the impression that the issue is closed.

                      Again surprisingly, after sometime in the month of April [or] May 2011, I have received a legal notice from N Y Law Chambers, Advocates & Solicitors demanding an EMI of Rs.14,364 for that notice My advocate Mr. Y. Balakrishna Rao, Advocate, [Mobile No.[protected], Email: y.[protected]@gmail.com] has given reply stating “My client denying the allegations & averments of your notice dt.[protected] vide ref.No.NLC/BB/APR2011S25N63 and for issue of no due certificate immediately. But no reply till date. [Copy of your notice and my reply is enclosed for your information]

                      After that now and then I am receiving calls from some of your executives of DSA’s visited me and some of your bank executives called me for EMI’s and very patiently I was explained them and requested them to provide me a copy of my account statement for understanding myself how I am due, how much I am due, from when I am due etc. But unfortunately, I have not received any account statements till date and more surprisingly they are mentioning that they don’t know/have the details.

                      As a responsible citizen, as a good client, because of my health, business conditions, family position etc I have voluntarily come forward on my own and pre-closed the account to avoid tensions and complications but unfortunately since last several months I am facing heavy tensions because of this issue and I am in helpless condition. Even now it is a surprise to me if really my loan account is not closed why more than 2 years bank has not approached me for EMI’s? Why your bank not claimed EMI’s for 2 to 2½ years? Why your bank claiming EMI’s after 2 to 2½ years & presented for collection? And why applying pressure on me and creating tension to me which is effecting my health? If my health is affected and in turn effects my family is your bank takes responsibility? Is it wrong that I am honestly come forward with a trust close the account by paying the agreed amount as a settlement?

                      All these days I was feeling very tense, because of this I have not made any written complaint to your bank, to your ombudsman [or] to RBI ombudsman with a hope that the issue will be settled and I will be free of the problem. But surprisingly today morning some people called me from Delhi calling themselves as Government appointed Advocate from RBI and representative of Delhi High Court and threatening me that “Delhi Police will come and arrest you and demanding for immediate deposit of amount within ten minutes in their ICICI Bank accounts so that they will deposit the amount in Court towards my due”. It was very painful for me and I have immediately felt sick because of my prevailing health conditions and I requested them for few details such as what is the due amount? On which account? What about a demand/settlement letter? But surprisingly the answer is same that deposit the amount within ten minutes [or] face the consequences. Even I was requested them how can I pay even a rupee without knowing the details [or] again payment without proper settlement letter / no due certificate. The answer was very simple to deposit atleast Rs.5,000 out of the total due of Rs.30,000 and after depositing Rs.5000 we will send you no due certificate. How come the due of Rs.30,000 figure is arrived?

                      After taking advice from my advocate and from well wishers I have mentioned to the callers that I am not due any amount to bank requested them to give some time to confirm with bank being I have not remembered [or] having record of the date of availing the loan, amount of loan, EMI amount, No. of EMI’s because it’s a personal loan borrowed to meet my personal problems and I have maintained only the record of only account closure receipts. Generally, any individual will tear off/destroy the any receipts after may be year and so. But fortunately I have kept these receipts even after 3 years and some safety I have atleast to quote. Please understand what would have been my position if I have not maintained the records of receipts and what I feel that “your bank has taken advantage of my innocence and goodness” and in this situation to safeguard myself, forced lodge complaint to your bank’s customer care ref.no.5370606 dt.[protected] and also I am forced to make this written complaint to your bank and all the higher authorities of your bank, and to your banks ombudsman and ombudsman of RBI.

                      Atleast now, your bank and bank officials have to seriously look into this complaint and have to issue the no due certificate for the personal loan account no.[protected] immediately and should relieve me from this issue.

                      Even after this justice is not done I have decided to go to any extend including approaching human rights commission, media, etc for my rights and justice.

                      This is reminder to my telephonic complaint no 5370606 dt.[protected] and my email dt.[protected]

                      In my earlier mail, I have complained in details and being again I am receiving telephone calls, I am forced to make a reminder and forced to post my complaint to consumer complaints forum www.consumercomplaints.in. If the harassment continues, I force to make criminal complaint to Police against the officials and other connected persons of Barclays bank being I am receiving calls from Mr. Rana [protected] identifying himself as High Court Officers, New Delhi and pressuring and forcing me to call Mr. P.K. Malhotra, Advocate at [protected] and advising me to come to an understanding otherwise he will depute police to Hyderabad to arrest me and present me in Delhi High Court, in turn, with a fear when I called Mr. P.K. Malhothra several times, he was identifying himself as Government appointed RBI lawyer and pressuring me to deposit of Rs.35,000 [or] atleast Rs.10,000 [or] Rs.5,000 immediately within minutes otherwise he will take action. He is mentioning to me to deposit the amount in ICICI bank of his superior's account and not even giving the details of account number and quoting me to go to any nearest ICICI bank and to make a call to him from branch so that he will give the account number to the ICICI Bank Employee. When I have asked him patiently about the details of case, about proof of identification, confirmation etc. He is not willing to provide any details but threatening and applying pressure on me to deposit money without any question for which I have not agreed and mentioned to him why should I pay for a closed account which I am not due? and requested him to present the details even if I am due further. He refused to give details and quoting if you have trust you deposit the amount in turn I will send you the No Due Certificate.

                      From yesterday, because of the pressure from unknown people of Barclays bank, my health is very badly effected. Earlier in 2008, I have pre-closed my loan account only because of my health condition [heart attack, diabetic attack, neuro problem] but today I am forced to take pressure from Barclyas Bank which is effecting my health badly [my sugar levels and blood pressures are reached to the danger level] for no mistake of mine and mis-management and wrong procedures of Barclays Bank.

                      Definitely, this type of harassment from a reputed and international firm like Barclays is not expected . Actually, the Barclays Bank has misused my authorization of electronic transfer of funds for the loan account which is closed and using the facility of my bank account which is also closed in 2009 itself. A simple logic is if it is electronic transfer transaction for monthly EMI to be processed why it is not done for so many months from end of 2008 to starting of 2010? why suddenly the electronic transfer transaction has been done in 2010 after collecting the total settlement amount against proper receipts towards the pre-closure of the said account, Receipts of the same, I have already mailed. Is it not a untrade practice of Barclays misusing the electronic transfer undertaking and sending notice under section 25 (1) of The Payment Settlement Systems Act 2007 and pressuring me to make further payment for the already closed account after 3 years and that too without providing any details of account.

                      Atleast now, Please correct yourself and relieve me of this problem and prove your credentials, brand name and the trust in the general public. Because you are having power and infrastructure, one sidedly, you should not harass innocent person like me.

                      Barclays Persnol Loan — Threatening Calls

                      I had taken a loan of Rs. 6.00 Lakhs from Barclay's Bank. My EMI is 14, 911.00 which I am paying regularly. Only this month (Jan) EMI got bounce and I had started getting threatening calls from their recovery department they were using violence language.

                      The calls I was getting from Barclay's Worli branch and the person calling was Mr. Prasad their recovery agent from his personal number as follow: [protected]

                      I had a credit card with the bank as i lost my job i could not afford to make the payments. i got married so did not get sufficent time to sort out the payments. In the month of June I spoke to barclays bank and got into a settlement with them for an amount of 8000/- which is paid to them in the month of july along with the settlement letter. In the past few days my parents have started to recieve threathing and abusive calls from the bank asking for the money, inspite of telling them the settlement is done and stop harraseing us they do not seem to understand and when we call them back they either cut the call or dont answer. My parents are senior citizens and they cannot take this trouble anymore my mother sits crying because of these calls. They never call on my mobile no so that i can deal with them.

                      Please resolve this asap before i loose any of my parents
                      This is totally true. They are not less than local rowdies. They are abusing in phone and not even considering that they are talking to a girl. And sending there collective agents (Local gundas are more better.).They will come to office and stand makes the entire scene. Once agree on something and later again they will change there word. And will come up with all the rules which is not there when we take up the loans. And will not be ready to give anything in black and white what they blabber.

                      Barclays bank PLC — closing loan account

                      Hi I want to complaint about Barclay's bank Plc.. I have a person loan account, since two months im back of them for pre closing it. They are just troubling me since 2months about the same. I have request to change my address and also sent them all the documents required for the updating of the address through Blue Dart courier. But now they are saying that there are no documents in the courier expect for the letter and no new address proof. They are just wasting my time n forcing me to pay even January's EMI. The Customer Care employee are very rude and are not willing to connect to the manager or higher authority.

                      Please help me in closing my account as soon as possible.

                        I have taken a personal loan from Barclays in 2008 for 4 years. Now i want to pay the full amount to them and close my account. As per thier instructions, i have paid the full settlement amount on 08.10.2011 through cash. I want a NOC letter from Barclays urgently because i have applied a housing loan from LIC and i have to give that NOC letter to LIC peoples. I have requested to customer services and branch peoples for NOC and discussed all my problems. They are not willing to help me. My 20 lakhs housing loan is on hold becuase of this stupid reason.

                        Mr. Mehta, How do LIC know my total outstanding in Barclays? LIC wants a clearance from Barclays that i have paid the full payment to them. Cash receipt not showing anywhere that i have paid the full amount.

                        I just want a confirmation letter from Barclays saying that i have paid the full amount. After that Barclays can give the NOC whenever they want. But after taken cash from me, they are saying we (Branch peoples) are not authorize to give you any confirmation before 20-25 days.

                        Similarly i have taken the loan from HDFC bank also. I wanted to close that account and paid the full outstanding through cash. They have given a proper NOC to me same day in the evening. They were so helpful and solved my problem in just one day. But Barclays bank are so disaster. I am running after them from last 20 days but still i haven't received a proper response from them. I also marked so many mails to them but not received any revert. I[censored] can give ur mail ID i can sedn you those mails as well.

                          My Braclays credit was upgraded for Rs 5000 form Gold to Paltinum, and they offer that they will provide the Promo code to book the Fligths tickets, From the day 1 the Promo codes are working and i have done multiple compalints to Barclays customer they always say that it will be taken care and i will get SMS.
                          after some days if you are statisfed Say Yes or NO, I always replied with No. But None of pepole has called me to resolve the problem.

                            This is in reference to today's phone call from barclay's bank, Some Mr. Deshmukh from[protected], had called up and used very bad, abusive language for my father and mother. From past 1.5 years our family is going through financial crisis but still we have been able to pay up few emi's of many Personal loans, credit cards etc.

                            But, this is no way to speak to anybody. What do banks think they can recover with such harsh language.

                            I would urge any superior person from Barclays Bank to reply to this, or else i would be left with no choice but to take this matter to news papers, police and even to Barclays H.O which is at London.

                              Re : Blocking of Credit Card without prior informing.

                              The Captioned Credit Card was blocked by Barclays Bank without prior informing me. I submit here-in-below the sequence of events

                              a) I visited Colombo, Singapore and Malaysia between June 8 to June 15, 2011.

                              b) I had done shopping at Singapore and had swiped captioned credit card for effecting payment but processing of payment was declined. The card was blocked on June 10, 2011. I had to face embarrassing situation at cash counter in Singapore Departmental store and had to borrow to make payment. Not knowing the card was blocked I again swiped at Malaysia Dept. Store but same was declined and had to forego purchase of few items at Malaysia departmental store besides facing embarrassment in presence of other customers.

                              c) I have Direct Debit of two Vodafone Mobile Phone connections ( Nos[protected] & [protected]) linked to Barclays Credit Card. Due to blockage of Card the domestic Direct Debit of Vodafone bills was declined and I had to immediately arrange cash payment.

                              d) On returning to India and checking with Barclays Customer Service centre, I was informed by Arvindkumar Vishwanathan – Executive (customer service) that Barclays does not honour processing of credit card payments in certain foreign destinations like Singapore & Malaysia. He further stated that Barclays had called up on June 11, 2011 at around 7.30 pm to cross check whether it was not a fraudulent payment in foreign country but since I did not respond it had blocked the card.

                              Complaint

                              a) The Terms & Conditions of captioned VISA card does not mention that I have to inform Barclays before swiping for payment in foreign countries. It’s an international VISA Card. Why was payment through valid VISA credit Card declined in first place?

                              b) Barclays had called up only once that too after blocking the card ( card blocked on 10th June and the call was made to me on 11th June) and had gone ahead with blocking of card without prior informing me. Also, while in foreign countries, incoming calls from unknown nos at times are not responded as it entails heavy international roaming charges. Nowadays, so many promotional calls are made by banks, insurers, etc and hence the criticality of calls cannot be judged by one single missed call.

                              c) Barclays after calling once and missing response, could have communicated by SMS at time of second swipe in Malaysia which at least could have cleared the situation.

                              d) The Domestic Direct Debit of Vodafone mobile bills (two connections) that was being regularly honoured in past months was declined due to blocking of card. The argument that swiping of card at foreign destinations could have been fraudulent has no logical application to the Direct Debit payments.

                              Grounds for Compensation

                              a) Barclays act o[censored]nilaterally blocking the VISA card without informing is blatant breach of Terms & conditions of an International VISA card.

                              b) Declining payment by Barclays caused undue embarrassment in foreign country departmental store. I had to borrow at Singapore and had to forego purchase at Malaysia.

                              c) Blocking of Card first and making just one attempt to contact thereafter is irrational. It does not show adequate concern for a Platinum customer. SMS could also have been sent.

                              d) Declining Direct Debit of two Vodafone Mobile bills have no sanctity as it’s not having any connection with fraudulently swiping of card by someone else. I had to take time out to make cash payment to avoid discontinuation of services.

                              e) In recent judgement The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum Bench held ICICI Bank guilty of deficiency in service and also criticised the Bank for blocking the Credit Card without informing the Cardholder and levied penalty of Rs 50000 on ICICI. It further observed that Bank is bound to inform the consumer well in advance before blocking his Credit card.

                              Compensation sought

                              In context of huge embarrassment caused due to declining of payment in foreign country and declining of domestic Direct Debit payment and considering my status, I seek compensation of Rs 1 lac from Barclays for it’s unilateral illegal action of blocking International VISA card.

                              Barclays Visa Card — No good Service

                              Barclays Customer care is just pathetic u mail them thousands of time and they shall not get back to u. i had also asked them to close my credit card account, but still it has been not cancelled. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

                              I am operating the Barclay Credit card and presently I have no dues pending. My card is blocked by the company and no reason is given to me. I need to reactivate my credit card.

                              Its seems inordinate delay on part of Barclays to pay the compensation is only pushing me to resort to legal options. In case of pursuing legally, I would like to hike my compensation to Rs 5 lacs for harassment, expenditure of my executive time, money & energy.

                              It's pure case of harassment. Delay is just pushing a customer to seek legal recourse and with steeper monetary compensation for the hardship undergone to seek redressal.

                              Barclays have sent a written response ( after my escalating the complaint to Head - Customer Care Dept thru' E-mail ) that Card was blocked to protect Customers Security. It is a mechanical response from Head of Customers care Dept. He does not answer my specific points in the complaint, like,
                              a) why only one attempt was made thru' call on my Cell before blocking the card while I was in foreign country ?
                              b) why SMS was not sent on my mobile when it failed to contact me on cell ?
                              c) why my Direct Debit ( to Barclays Card ) of two Vodafone Bills was declined without getting in touch with me ?
                              d) why no attempt was made to reactivate my Card or understand the actual status of my transactions in foreign country ?

                              It's disgusting as without answering specific questions, they take a stand that Customer complaint has been attended to and close the file. This forum should have mechanism to complete the circle whereby the action taken by the accused Party to redress the complaint is satisfactory or not ? If complainant is not satisfied, the complaint should be kept open & there should be onus on the accused Party to resolve it.

                                a) I am holding Barclay Banks Platinum VISA Card no [protected].

                                b) For the month of July there was outstanding amount of Rs 203.57. Since I did not receive Bill, this payment was missed out.

                                c) barclays have levied Late payment fees, interest & Service Tax of Rs 510.56 on outsytanding amount of Rs 203.57

                                d) When I got the August months bill showing charges as mentioned in (c) above, I called up Barclays ( Ms Fazila Sheikh) on 11th August to waive this penalty amount as the unpaid amount was very nominal and my track record for past payment was excellent. She said she didn't have the authority to reverse the charges. She would put up a request and Barclays would revert in 3-4 days time. The Request no 5230447 was alloted to me and she said that she has arranged a call back for same.

                                e) Pending decision on Penalty & other charges, I made the payment of o/s amount of Rs 204 on same day 11th august, receipt of which has been confirmed by Barclays via SMS.

                                f) On not receiving call in respect of waiver from Barclays, I wrote e-mail to [protected]@barclays.com 2-3 days back but still there is no response from Barclays.

                                My Complaint is as under :
                                a) The levy of charges & interest exceeding the o/s amount is outrageous. On o/s of Rs 204 charges of Rs 510 is pure rip off.

                                b) I am a Platinum Customer with excellent payment track record always making timely & full payment, at times exceeding Rs 20000. This slip up was purely unintentional & too small a amount to default.

                                c) On explaining the matter to Customer care, the officer is not authorised to waive the amount. It seems the procedure though suiting Barclays, is not in line with their MNC competitors who reverse on the spot even in case of confessed delay by 2-3 days. Here they categorise me as Platinum Customer and still the waiting period is as good as a ordinary member. In fact there should be zero waiting period for such apparent minor amount.

                                d) The procedure seems to be taking too long period and not working. From 11th aug to 19th august there is no confirmation on status of waiver of said charges.

                                Barclays has reversed the late Payment fee of Rs 450 & corresponding Service tax & have communicated same vide its letter dated Aug 23, 2011.

                                I thank Indian Consumers Forum for helping in resolving this issue. Barclays have let down a customer & has made a customer waste his time & energy behind this petty point.

                                  I am very regret to inform you that I have been continuously facing a lot of system problem of BARCLAYS finance co.. I have some points to be resolved on most urgent basis .

                                  Point 1: My loan account no.LC[protected] Barclay finance monthly EMI of Rs.5041/- have been continuously paying from my Axis bank account no. “[protected]” named “Ajay Kumar” since last 1 year but this month EMI has been bounced even after I had balance of Rs.5523/- in this account. How can it possible?

                                  Point 2: EMI again present in my bank account on 09/08/2011 and EMI cleared.

                                  Point 3: EMI Again present on 17/08/2011 in my bank account and amount debit from my bank account.

                                  Point 4: how can barclays again present EMI from my bank account in this month.

                                  Afore said all 4 points are not only issue of mine but also about your image in this market. You are to do somtihing as per afore said matters.

                                    Respected Sir/Madam,

                                    This is to bring to your notice about harassment caused by Barclays Collection agencies to me (concerned party holding Credit Card Number : [protected]). This card has been inactive (discontinued) for the last 2 Years and I have spoken to numerous (>40) barclays personnel s to get it settled and close my account over this period of time with no responses.

                                    I have always been available on my mobile number, but recently some collection folks i.e. Marc (+91 [protected], [protected]) and Gupta (+91 [protected]) have been harassing and threatening my parents and sister back home and putting them through immense mental torture. I have had numerous conversation with these guys and I did request them to come to my place and settle the account, but all in vain. Nobody ever turns up (applies to all the other barclays people I have spoken as well) and eventually the case is handed over to some other person/agency and the story repeats itself.

                                    This irresponsible and arrogant behavior of the Barclays Bank and related agencies has blown out of the box now and hereby has forced me to write this mail, asking for higher authorities help. Harassing and torturing my parents and threatening them for money is not justified, whereas the primary party concerned here (myself) has always been available...is NOT done!!

                                    Kindly help me out on this and please let me know if there is anything other information is required from my side.

                                      I, SHRI. GANESH KISHOR TAK, bearing SBI Credit Card No.[protected], had suffered great headache of fraudulant transactions, which occured on 05.04.2011. On this day, at around 12.30 i received sms about transactions while i was on duty having credit card in my pocket, that the said transactions were made to BHARTI AIRTEL LTD. of Rs. 5000/-, Rs.5000/- & Rs.24,596/- ( three times ). same time when i got 1st sms, i contacted customer care which also took 10 min. to connect the line and i immediately cancelled my card. it was totally out of my knowledge how this occured as the card was neither lost, nor ever ever i shared my any information with anybody.

                                      i raised dispute form same day, also i made complaint in Cyber Cell Crime in Navi Mumbai. I did not hear from SBI, but made time to time follow up with the bank which revealed that matter s under investigation.

                                      ALSO, Sir, one more incident had occured on the same day, in case of my BARCLAY CARD NO.[protected], where having history i.e. neither card stolen, lost, i however received SMS where 3-4 fraudulant online transactions were made total amounting to Rs.9500/- in favour of Telecom Cos. i.e. BHARTI AIRTEL, RELIANCE ENERGY, MTNL. Same day, i sent Dispute Form and urged investigations and retrievals. Having no concern of any type with these Telecom Cos., i am totally in full stress how to deal with it. Now Barclay has sent one representative for payment recovery and making calls. I hereby request you to help me to come out of this.

                                      In both these cases, i had made application and complained in Cyber Cell Crime, Navi Mumbai Commissioner Office, CBD Belapur.

                                      on 11.7.11, i received legal notice u/s 25(1) of 'Payment & Settlement Systems Act-2007' from Barclay's Advocate Mr.Agarwal to make payment as they say that ECS Payment being stopped by me is punishable for 2 yrs.impri.or with fine against 'legally enforceable debt'.

                                      i have sent them reply on 17.7.11, clearly that though it is stopped by me, but the said payment is nothing but against fraudulant transactions and not legally enforceable debt, so question of making payment by ECS does not arise and i can take step for stopping ECS at any time.

                                      on 17.7.11, again i contacted Cyber Crime Branch, Navi Mumbai and they sent mails to the concerned Banks and their investigation is in process. but, i m really under stress caused by such unknown miscreants which i urged to Bank to find out actual culprits and retireve from them.

                                      I haven't heard anything from Barclay in the matter to whom i have repeatedly made requests to recover the said amount towards fraudulant transactions as they have lot of information with them about the real culprits or from telecom companies as i am not the actual payee to their bills and they have got their money frommy credit cards and so they are at default.

                                        My father who is 92 and has been a Barclays customer for many many years made a transfer to his grandson's account in St Lucia on 13th June. The money went out of his account on 15th June. The money has never arrived. I have contacted Barclays twice and despite having power of attorney to deal with my father's affairs, it was refused and they insisted on talking to him to confirm the account. This was done. It is now 27th June and still the money has not arrived...what do we do now. His grandson was told by the Bank....Bank of Nova Scotia, Vieux Fort, St Lucia that the money is routed through Trinidad. Also the money was converted to EC dollars and we didn't ask for this to be done. Just wanted the money, £1000 to go down to the bank in Sterling. He had made a previous transfer to the same account and there was absolutely no problem. Please advise as soon as possible....A.[protected]@sky.com Thank you
