[Resolved]  Airtel — Violation of Rules and Regulation

Address:Chennai, Tamil Nadu

I have registered myself with NDNC registry for my mobile number from Airtel, [protected] from March, 29th, 2010.

But I have been regularly receiving calls / SMS. Till this time I have raised more than 10 complaints on unsolicited commercial calls. All except for one call, has come from AIRTEL's Channel Partners. It is very obvious that Airtel has given these numbers to their Channel partners without scrubbing the same with NDNC list. Most of the time Airtel call centre has refused to take a complaint quoting some reason and had to escalate to nodal or appellate authority even to get a complaint registered. The chain of tail mail speaks about the same and you can find the callousness in their attitude from the reply.

Despite many confirmations and promises, calls and SMS still come. The latest being from [protected] from their Channel partner named Saravanan. This one channel partner himself have contacted me 3 or more times and he every time sends SMS from different numbers to avoid action against him.

The complaint number give by Airtel in the last one month are : 32651438, 32574916, 32688952, 32731728, 33182785.

Request intervention in getting the rule enforced.

I got 3 calls which was claiming as from corporate office from [protected].
One Meenakshi spoke with me even after telling her more than 3 times that Airtel had disconnected services to my number for not updating email and I have provided my email id since, she was not listening and parroting the same thing repatedly.
Then One another guy called me up saying that I was rude to that lady and he was also not ready to listen.
Never seen such senseless people who does not dare to question their own process and procedure even if it is a faulty.
I had got a call from [protected] on 22nd July from Airtel from their so called " Appellate Authority" saying that they are "investigating" the issue and ensure that no more calls will come again. I had asked him to write a mail to me giving all details of the complaints I had raised and who called and what were the actions they had taken. Has not got any mail till now.
Today I got one more SMS from their sales partner. The SMS came from [protected] at 11.30am on 25th July on an AIRTEL BROADBAND scheme and CUG scheme. I had earlier raised a complaint on the same number in June and as per Airtel, they had confirmed that they had taken action.
I had called 121 to register the complaint but as usual they refused.
The promises made by Appellate Authority also proved FALSE and without any shame they refuse to raise complaints. UCC is a regular feature and even after raising a complaint in this forum Airtel is not ready to do anything. It proves that they are partner to this violation and otherwise these sales agents will not get my number at all. By refusing to take complaint, which is happening to me for me for at least the 8th time, they silently promote such calls.
Please guide me how to take up this issue and make AIRTEL abide the rules of the country.
Sorry to note that this mail is not based on facts, as I am still getting SMS from your Vendors, for which you had confirmed disconnection.

The cause of irritation is that these SMS are only from Airtel's Vendors and the data has been provided to them by Airtel staff members only and also the fact that I am not getting any unsolicited calls from no one else than Airtel; which is contradicting your statement that you whole heartedly supports this initiative.

Also, please note that the SMS and calls are not in any decreasing trend and none of your vendors have stopped sending SMS or making calls even after raising the complaints on them and your call centre refuses to take any more complaints on your vendors on violation of DND.
