[Resolved]  Airtel GPRS — Airtel GPRS charges are deducted even after Deactivation of GPRS

Hello,

I activated GPRS service on my Airtel conecction...after 2 days i deactivated it..
Even after deactivating the GPRS service i was being charged for it...they deducted Rs.200 from my balance and stopped the deduction when my balance reached Rs.3.
On contacting the Airtel Customer care...i got my refund ..but from the next day itself again the deduction started ...till date they have deducted my 180 Rs.
Now whenever my balance is more than 15 Rs. ...Airtel is deducting Rs. 12 every time for the GPRS service...

The worst part is that though they are charging me for the GPRS connection...the GPRS service is suspended...

im very much frustrated by continuosly calling the CC and emailing them my issue...

Please look into this as soon as possible...
Else i will be forced to take some serious action

AirTel — Deduction of money even after deactivation of GPRS service

I requiested for activation of GPRS service on 17-05-08 at 20.45hrs. My message was regestered by the co. and I got returned message that u will get confermation within 4 hrs, however till next day I didn't get any confirmation so I dialled the customer care for the same they said it is already activated on ur phone and because the setting are not proper u r anable to brouse the net. I asked the setting and they provided it .
Still the service was not satisfactory.So I requested to deactivate the GPRS service on 18-05-08 at 22-54hrs & I got confirmation message also for the same. GPRS service on my mobile was disabled immediately however till date[protected]Airtel is cutting Rs 14.95 from my prepaid a/c for no reason. when I contacted the customer care, they informed me that ur GPRS service is still active that is why ur balance is being deducted.
I activated Airtel GPRS4 days ago. When I tried t disable it by SMS, that "confirmation SMS" which Airtel was supposed to send me did not come.What shou'd I do?Opt out of Airtel?Take serious action??If the Rs.14.99/- per day continues to deduct from my balance, soon I shall be a beggar!!! Of course there are better service providers than Airtel...

please deactivate any website which is currently in use as after few day my talktime balance is reduced my bal was Rs 134 on dated 3.7.08 and on 4.7.08 bal was Rs114 due to deduction of Rs20 I have complaint on your C.care my reference number is [protected] My mobile no.is [protected]

true airtel is an chor company we need to bring this to notice to all the investors in their company

airtel is one of the worst companies nowadays, frequent disconnects, no proper coverage, and the worst among the worst is they are proud for their pathetic service and care. Call a cust care agent of airtel and tell him your concerns, the cust care person will take complete care to spoil ur mood and day.

now airtel has started charging 25 rupees per day for gprs which is absolutely ridiculous.. After speaking with care, i felt as if am speaking to grocery store baniya, who just gets rid of everything if told about the bad service and product.

utterly frustrated with airtel, feel like i speak with someone who has no brains when one speaks with cust care.


adding to it, they trick cust by giving problems to cust, cos of which user needs to deactivate gprs n once reactivated, the new revised and increased charges are levied, for which cust care has no solution, n its hopless speakin wid them.

we either need to completely ban usage of the services they keep charging for, gprs one of such services, which they keep increasing the charges without increasing the service quality.

its better ban them instead wasting our time n spoiling our day, if all stop using their so called good services, maybe that would, ake them realise, that people are not satisfied.

if you think the management looks in cust care records and work on services accordingly, then you are wrong, if they wud have, the charges and the service wouldnt be this worst.

I activated GPRS service on my Airtel conecction...They deducted Rs.50 from my balance and stopped the deduction when my balance reached Rs.0.00.
On contacting the Airtel Customer care...they told me to refund the money in 24 Hrs. i didn't get the amount.Till date they have deducted my balance whenever i recharged with atleast Rs.10 they deduced all the amount, Now whenever my balance is more than 5 Rs. ...Airtel is deducting all the amount. when i contact the customer care and was talking about this problem the call was disconnected suddenly.. thereafter they didn't response my call.

The worst part is that though they are charging me for the GPRS connection...the GPRS service is suspended...

even i'm suffering from the same issue please take action against airtel !!!
I found a way to disable it. You need to go configuration setting ( for me it was setting -> wireless setting -> mobile networks -> APN ( access point network).
There you will find two APN ( airtelgprs.com and airtelMMS.com ).
Delete both. You may need to do this every time you are switching to new mobile.
This is disconnect you from Airtel Live and Airtel GPRS.
