I have purchased a data card connection in August 2007 2007 from Airtel. As against the commitment, I could not use the data card for next one month as I was travelling. Apparently, the roaming services were not activated on the card. I had to lodge several complaints before the roaming is finally activated.
The problem was still not over. I could barely use the data card for a few days. Rather I could say i managed to log on, but I could hardly do anything with the poor speed and the connection used to get disconnected every few minutes.
After a few days, it stopped working altogether. Startng 8th and 9th of November 2007, I lodged a series of complaints. Every time I was apologised by Airtel that there is some technical problem and it will be resolved in next two hours. but the next two hours did never come and I never been able to use the connection after that, despite repeated complaints.
Where the airtel was not working on the connection, It kept on sending me bills every month, even when the connection was not working. I had paid an advance money when I got the connection installed and never got the value for the money spend. Not even that, I kept on receiving bills.
I wrote a letter to airtel and ask Airtel to give me an acknowledgement of the same. Airtel refused to give me an acknowledgement, unless I pay the dues of Rs. 1200 first. I refused to pay for it as I did not get any service. I had already paid an advance which I could never recover.
After few days, airtel started harrassing me with the notice from the lawyers and and frequent calls from their call centre. There is no place where i can lodge my grievance, but I decided not to bow down to the harrassment done by Airtel.
I will move to consumer court after this and will make sure that Sunil Mittal has to explain this.I will fight this till supreme court if required. Airtel may check from the call history about the number of complaints i submitted with them and hours i spent with their technical team trying to resolve this issue, without any support from their side. I have all those compliant numbers and dates written in my note book. Will produce them before the court.
Am srinivasa reddy ([protected]) from bangalore, i have purchessed airtel data card in the month of may 2008, at the time purchesing executive promised me about speed around more than 150bps but as of now am getting below 5bps and i raised the compaint regarding the aboue issue but i haven't get any solution from airtel. customer care responce is too thirdclass and disconnecting call.
my sincere advice dont go for airtel data card, even am loyal customer for airtel, am using airtel sim from past 6 years.
Airtel Datacard Service - Review

As per my advice, do not even think about Airtel Datacard service. Their service is pathetic both in terms of speed compared to other service provider and billing procedure. I had terrible experience and within 9 days of my connection, i had surrendered it. Their daily unbilled amount does not consider your data plan and free transfer limit resulted your service will be deactivated even when you have not reached your free limit.

Take example of their 350/- rental plan where 500 MB free data transfer is allowed and above that Rs. 5/- per MB. Now say you credit limit is set to Rs. 1200/- and you made a data transfer of 300 MB after the activation. Their system will take is as 300*5 = INR 1500 which means you are above your credit limit and your service will be deactivated until you make payment of INR 1500 or wait for your billing to generate. Their billing system will consider free transfer of 500 MB only at the time of bill generation. So you would never be able to utilize at least your free limit.

The same is true for Rs. 999 wala plan. You can utilize the internet data transfer till your credit limit and once you reach their credit limit as per their faulty unbilled system, you have to make the advance payment of entire amount to get it reactivated but in reality are required to pay only Rs. 999/- which will be considered only at the time of billing generation.

Their speed is even poor compared to BSNL/TataIndicom.

If any one is even considering going for this, i would request them to clarify the issue specifically related to billing system with their customer support executive before they go for this.
I have brought Airtel Datacard on 13th of December 2008...My bill come too high andthe connection is very very slow. They charge me more than Rs 5672.85/- with in one month. I dont think we can access even 512 MB even we connect it the whole night and the whole day. This airtel datacard slow and not good service...Damn it...I advise you all not to use it...

    Respected Sir/Madam,

    the story somthing like this on 3rd may 2008 saturday, i purchased used Airtel data card and registerd new airtel postpaid connection wiht 599 per month scheme, on sunday the card not started so i called the person from whom i make registration (Mr. Mahesh Gohel), on sunday he gives me demo card which i get access only for 1 day then upto 13th may 2008 my card was not activate the reason is the post paid card is registered with my uncle's name and i'm accessing it from ahmedabad(joint family). i personally went to rajkot to know the status of my registration as i did not get satisfactory answers from airtel call centers and circle office of airtel in ahmedabad. on 19th may 2008 i went to rajkot airtel office from where i have make registration of this, that felow told me that your registration is blocked due to Third party access(Registered with my uncle's name and accessing me). so for solution of that they make change of registration from my uncle's name to my name on 20th may 2008 and today is 25 may 2008 till today i can not access my data card with my airtel postpaid connection.

    please do me advice what actions should i have to take, as i'm fully unsatisfied with services from Airtel.

        Hi,
        I took an Airtel Corporate Connection in Feb 2008. i paid Rs 250 as security deposit for which i was told that it will be adjusted in third month's bill. My third bill was generated on 18th may and i cannot find a single paise discount on the bill.

        Also i was told i will get some discounts for STD calls and free SMS which was not done on my 2 month's bill. after calling to CC many times and escalating to zonal manager, i got some waver for RS 26 for my local SMS charges.

        Can someone tell me the escalation points of airtel so that i can escalate it to further levels and force them to provide the service which we are paying for.

          Every month it has become a problem for me due to non-receipt of the bill. Inspite of severl complaints no action is being taken. I am afraid any complaint redressal machinery is working with air tell.

          2. I have no other way but to change the service provider. However, I am trying your route as a last option.

            I am a Privileged Customer of Airtel and holding this number ([protected]) from past 2 years now. I have maintained a very good credit history with Airtel.

            But this time I am having bad experience with Airtel. I was in Saudi arabia (International Roaming) from 16Feb08 till next 5 days.

            When I returned got the bill, I got a call to make the payment o[censored]nbilled amount Rs.289000 and your credit limit is Rs 11200.

            Your urgent help is required in this matter as I am not ready to pay Rs 289000 for March 2008.
            This is the problem at Airtel end, why they have not stopped the connection even after reaching the credit limit of rs 11, 200.
            And there was no intimation message SMS/mail. This issue should be fixed by them because it is their fault

            Airtel Prepaid — Wrong billing cheating

            I am having airtel connection no. [protected] and every now and than airtel deduct charges towards some or other value added service latest example is chat services which i never subscribed best part is that you do not have any recurse available to address problem.what best can be done is that airtel says you have unsubscribed the service and money will not be refunded.
            Best part is that if you want to speak to customer care(human) not machine than aiirtel will charge you money for the same. I think sunil mittal devised this strategy to generate more revenue excellent idea sirji first crate problem and than charge people for not solving it great.

            AirTel — cheating in bill

            I would like to file a complaint against Bharti Airtel Ltd. for
            'financial harassment and mental torture' for the following matter.

            Case: I filed a telephonic request to Airtel on 121 for Bill ambiguity for July 2011. I followed it up with their official complaint email address on their
            website for around two months. I had not received a single call or mail from them. Acc. to their bill, i had surfed net that amounts to Rs.13,000 to Rs. 27,000/day. To my surprise, total amount bill is Rs.1600 that again is much beyond my expectation. On call, it was confirmed that i have to pay only Rs.750 but again bill that received says it is Rs.1600. Same story continues with current month also. I am fed up of their services. Again i had logged a request 2541720 for bill connection and cancellation of Airtel DSL Connection No. 4131065 on Aug.19,2011. They asked me to wait till 26 Aug. to get a revert and again this request was auto closed saying bill is correct. I am surprised how one can access nt for Rs.27000 in a single day.
            Again i called Airtel and now they say that to disconnect teh connection, again log a complaint. Now they are not disconnecting my connection and offering me other plans and continously asking me to pay the bill.
            I have exact same problem, they shot up by bill by 800% without any intimation... how can this be possible?

            why they did not inform me in advance...

            and the worst part is that i have not even used the phone that much... it is wrong billing.

            i dont know what are my options...

              The said number was purchased for our company along with other numbers including[protected]my number) for our cur connection. Our company and our sister concerns are having more than 400 Airtel connections and so we wanted to link all the numbers in future. The aforesaid CUG number was not activated by us from the date of purchase till 15/05/08. When we had alloted the number to one of our staff, we came to know that the card was de activated. Immediately we have given the complaint in writing to univercell Alwarpet, Chennai and also we have mailed the same to 121. Also we had informed One Mr Ganesh (Phone Number:[protected]. But all our efforts are in vain. Moreover Univercell, Alwarpet's service is very poor.

              It is 5 days since we have given the complaint, but not yielded any response. If the number is not activated today, We will shift all our lines to some other company.'

              We are having a problem in coverage and we are unable to communicate smoothly
              even after paying you regular due.

              When we have lodged complain against such a bed services, we are not provided proper response. When we have talked to your customer service executive, he has replied that there is no tower facility available in your area and it will take nearly 3 months to solve our problem.

              You are very well aware about the coverage facility at the time of selling your product and still you are not informing your customers about the fault in the service in particular area so that the person who is buying your card can buy another service providers card.

              The above numbers and address is just for example, there are lots of people in the area who is using your service and having the same problem. If you do not take proper action in proper time we are forced to change our service provider.

              The above numbers are of the employees of GSFC and further in giriraj raw house society many people from GSFC are staying and all are covered under CUG plan.

              The sixth number mentioned is of my friend who is staying at top floor of a flat hiving 4 floor and still he is having the same kind of difficulty so you can very well imagine the position of other people in the same area of Chhani Jakatnaka and Sama road.

              With hope that the action will be taken as early as possible to resolve our problem otherwise we need to change our service provider.

                I received mms on my Nokia-N73 mobile from 5919823, but unable to open on http;//125.21.241.88/mms, and have not been able to view them either on the phone or the web. The website considers my number & given password invalid and the customer care people also unable to help . How do i check my mms before they expire, pls...help.

                  I am manish sisodiya, staying at madhapur hyderabad, i am using AirTel Postpaid from last one year and complaint many times about poor network/call drop/false call connection/poor services but no response from their end. I am paying average 1500/- per month for this worst services.
                  Take some action against them so they can't make us fool.

                  i have so many problems with your GPRS service.
                  right now i've subscribed MOBILE OFFICE as PER DAY 15 RS.
                  but as your provided poorest service i can't work speedy.
                  i getting just 7 or 8 kb/s speed and thats not enough.
                  relience and hutch gives better speed more than 40 kb/s speed.

                  my friend using NOKIA 6233 same as mine,
                  he using vodafone prepaid n connecting mobile to computer n getting up to 40 kb/s speed and I getting just 7 or 8 kb ps.
                  do some thing otherwise i'll change my service.
                  I took airtel for internet. It was not working and I reported more than 20 times, spoke to various people at various level. They says sorry. No one to help and we discontinued numbers. Paid all dues etc.

                  After 2 months I got call for payment and I asked please provide me details of bill I have not received.

                      This is report the problem I'm facing for last 45 days with the Airtel Broadband Customer care and Billing departments. They have wrongly billed the amount which is 3 times more. I had to follow up atleast 40 - 50 times to resolve the issue but it is not resolved yet. Each time they give a unique reason/excuse for the delay and this is happening for last 45 days.

                      Airtel should have some sense to respect/concern towards its customers and not to Harass them this badly.

                      1 example...try calling the airtel broadband customer care, no one lifts that call even if you want new connection..., :) Really sucks...,




                      The Worst Service i ever seen...they don't want new connections it seems.
                      Recently had a very bad experiance while getting an Airtel broadband connection.
                      The sales guy promised the connectivity in a weeks time.
                      After the verification call i calld up the sales guy to get the installation done(needed it urgently)
                      But one week passed with continuous followups with sales/intsallation guy, it was just not moving.
                      Installtion guy evryday said he'll get back, but he might be having a company to run(never got any call)
                      After a week, i got a crap from the installation guy ! "says the connection was cancelled ?! " pls get in touch with the sales guy !!

                      Donno how this thing runs...no further referrals
                      this is waste broad band net work and useless broad band connection. i have never experienced like this.
                      we were irritated with ur valuble services.

                      I have taken airtel brad band connection to home, when they asked repeatedly with no advance payment and finally when they installed the connection, not given proper wiring and we faced interruption and connecting net problems and we complained many times and they solved problems temporarily, finally we wished them to disconnect the internet connection.

                      When we wished to disconnect the net connection, they made calls even from Bangalore office and they requested, they are going to resolve the problem permanently and same we agreed. But with out information they disconnected net.

                      Present due amount is around Rs.1250 and I am not ready to pay that amount, due to because of their worst service and with out intimation they disconnected the net.

                      Now they are making the calls and asking the due amount and if I am not paying, they are planning to take legal action.

                      Please suggest, is it we have to pay due amount (because we are not used internet) or is their any chances to take legal actions from our side.

                      Airtel — Sick Customer service from Airtel

                      I had called airtel customer care 44444121 on 31/07/2009 for New Broadband connection. I was told that within 48hrs I will get a call from the backend with the result of the feasibility study of the connection (Ref No:7150198). I am very shocked to say that tll today is 13/08/2009 and I am still waiting for the call. In between I had called almost 7-8 times and spoke to someone called Renuka, Devraj, Geetha and Shruthi. Each time I have been told that they are not aware why this has happened and they will make sure that I get a call within the next day.

                      I am really surprised to see this sick customer service from Airtel. I have advised many of my friends to take airtel connection because this was one of the best. Now I will make sure that those friends will not take airtel to suffer like this in future. When a company cannot give importance to a person who is showing interest to get a new connection, how can anyone expect a better service later? Are you not making a fool of yourself?
                      In between on 10/08/2009 I have called to the same number and they have taken a complain (No.[protected] and again I was told that this complain will be answered by 11/08/2009 by 14.33 hrs. But today is 13/10/09 and no calls till now.

                      Is there anyone who can help me to find out a solution?
                      hi Jemes two years back i also faced the same problem with reliance.They make calls for other useless services but dose not inform before disconnecting.after that they add monthly rental by every month with out o[censored]se. I never cared about them. they sent legal notice.finally they came to me and requested for money. actually i used Rs.600 worth of internet.but according to bill it is 2500 or some thing.but i paid only 600 and returned the modem and every thing. again they sent bills for two months and stopped. Finally saying that if you want to pay something pay as per your usage. if you dont pay anything also they cant do anything.

                      i am a airtel customer of tamilnadu.right now i m roaming in karnataka,most of the times my number ill be switched off since i m in roaming so i activated missed call alers for my number but i am not getting alerts but i was charged for the service,while in roaming i am not getting any alerts, i am complaining about this issue to the customer care people and even to their supervisor since my issue is not resolved and i am forced to accept wat they are telling and i am not at all convinced b y the last call i made to the customer care...in last call i spoked to customer care that supervisor was talking very headweight and not all listening to customers...my number is [protected].actually i am a delighted customer of airtel for the past 4 years but i didnt faced issue like this before i am really telling the customer care service provided by airtel is very very good at one time but now it is very very poor and going somewhere else and this how they loose their customers...

                        I have just read in the Decan Chronicle that "CLIP", an optional facility should have been provided only with the consent of the subscriber and not making it a compulsory item. I have been charged Rs25 per month since 2007 without my consent. In fact last year Trai in its order had asked the companies not to force Clip facility on subscribers. Would you please arrange for me to be credited the amounts you have charged me to date. I have put on this scheme without my consent

                          I applied for MMS on my Airtel prepaid card and was told to go to airtelworld.com/mms but he site does not open . What is the point of providing special codes to the customers and advertising how wonderful they are if Airtel cannot activate MMS in a simple user-friendly manner ? On 10th May my hello tunes got active and 30 Rs get deducted from my balance, while i had not made any request to active Hello tunes. Again today on 21 st of May one new hello tunes got active on my number and also 30 Rs get deducted from my balance. This time also I had not made any request. what is this?. Now it is enough. Please do something to stop these things.
                              My AIRTEL NO. IS [protected] AND i AM A PREPAID CUSTOMER.

                              AIRTEL HAS STARTED SENDING SMS FROM 53030 (WORLD CUP CRICKET SCORE) AND ALSO SUBSCRIBED TO HELLO TUNES.

                              I HAVE NOT SUBSCRIBED TO BOTH THE SERVICES.

                              PL. HELP AS A LOT OF MONEY IS GETTING DEDUCTED ON BOTH COUNTS.

                                i got Airtel Combo plan with unlimited facility with 512 kbps speed. When i took this plan I was told that they will attend any complain within 4 hours or latest by next day. Now My phone number 46502601 and the broadband both are down since 17.5.08 and till date no one has attended inspite of repeated calling. This is a gross negligence towards the service of customer. Why Airtel should not be penalized for this? I wonder when anyone will rectify the sitution.

                                  seriously.i have the same trouble...the problem with FIR is that even if its effective the guy changes his number and calls again.airtel has to introduce the call barring concept tht is there in the other providers
                                  or a service like youmail should be set up in our country.it sends a fake "this number has been disconnected" message to the unwanted number.
                                  how blessed these people are in foreign lands.why can't our country do something lyk this, and quick?
                                  even Idea dont have such facility. I am facing the same problem.
                                  If you want to avoid a few callers, create a group and set a ring tone for it.

                                  Then on general call ringtone record a file with no sound...I mean make a ringtone which has nothint in it...just click record and save it...if you play that file you will hear nothing...I hope you understand...then set this as the ringtone for the general callers

                                  Now when the callers from your group call you will receive the call with your favourite ring tone and if someone who is not in your list calls you, you will not hear anything at all even though the ringer might hear your phone ringing...hope this helps...

                                    10 days before I got a call from [protected] from a person(not IVRS call, that person interacted with me and answered my quried) regarding hello tunes but I denied the offer. On 12.08.2008 I got two messages abt deduction of Rs.30 and Rs. 15 from my account for subscribing hello tunes and downloading Gayatri mantra as Hello tunes respectively. I immidiately unsubscribe the Hello tunes. I have contacted several times your customer care regarding above issues but they are failed to resolve my issues.Therefore I request you to resolve my issues and credit Rs.45 in my account as soon as possible.
                                    Same type of problem I faced Two months before that they activated the Internet automatically on my mobile no and deducted Rs.299.
                                    2 days before I also received a call from [protected] from a person named DEVI, she also insisted me for Hello tunes .I also denied her for Hello tunes offer and told her abt my previous harashment from Airtel. Pls take care of not to activate Hello tunes again.
                                    I have been facing these type of harashment from airtel regularly.
                                    Pls take care of above mentioned matters.

But next day I got 2 same msg for Hellow Tune activation that I have not desired and around 60/- got deducted instantly. Next day again it charged 60/-, the same day I demanded to clarify for the deduction amount that charged twice for same subscription.. one Airtel Executive (named Amman Kapoor, though no such person is there that other CS Executive told later) were not able to provide the clarification and unwanted argument arose.. after that the whole prepaid balance deducted by successive subscriptions msgs, now it is Negative 20/-.

                                    I have consecutively spoken couples of Airtel Executives and Supervisors but nothing have resolved yet.
                                    It was a PREPAID balance and HARD EARNED money. It's a kind of SMART CHEATING, I have to loose my precious communication also in deadline and I am really haressed with this problem. Concern person please contact me as early possible for final solution.


                                    In the menatime I have recd a complaint no [protected] by Ms Veena, Floor Supervisor on 16-01-08 at 11am for further correspondance while I repeat the whole story to her.
                                    Again Mr Uman has called me from Airtel at 3.30pm and confirmed that the said amount (around 450/- so) will be refunded by next 24 hrs. But I am still waitting for the refund.

                                      I don't know what to say about this Airtel people. Giving poor & poor service.

                                      My bill dtd. 9/3/2008 was of Rs.251. I have recd. a call from Airtel that I have to pay Rs.140 only and Rs.112 is your reimbursement. So I have paid accordingly. But my payment was not credited to my account because of their mistake and ultimately the late payment fees charged to me again.

                                      For next month's bill, I went to their Customer Relationship Centre at Vasai (W) and told them about the matter. They told me to pay amount which is relevant according to me and they assured me that next time no late payment would be charged to you.

                                      But again the bill came for the month of May which includes again late payment fees and ultimately additing tax amount also. The final bill is of Rs.321. Instead of I have to pay the bill, Airtel should first reimburse me Rs.24.32 and the actual bill should be Rs.236 instead of Rs.321.

                                      Hi,

                                      I am a landline user for the past 7yrs. i am happy with ur benefit and service your providing to the customer. But, now personally i am facing a problem in your service for the inproper respone from the customer care and the branch offfice.

                                      I am paying my bill reguraly before the due date.for the past 7-8 months i am unhappy with the bills which they were sending to me. I have raised the complain for that, which the problem has not been solved. Your team keep on adding for the late fee and the unwanted bill in my telephone account no. i am started paying the amount partially according to my usage.After paying the bills reguarly my telephone line has been disconnected with the incoming and outgoing for almost 1 month. I have come for the settlement to the branch office but none of the person have responded properly to me and they have shouted on me that the line cannot be activated.


                                      I want to know whether the airtel customer head really wants to maintain the relation with the customer or we need to discontinue with the best provided services by you but not now.

                                        Sir, i have a airtel prepaid no. [protected]. One unneccesary charge of Rs. 25 had been deducted from my a/c on 16th May. Wn i talked to CC then no satisfactory ans, they are saying that i have activated any Voice chat service on my mobile, . but wn i checked my mobile there was no incoming call from airtel nor any outgoing msg or call to airtel. now i don't know why airtel had deducted this amount. Pl investigate this matter seriously sothat i can get the same amount back in my a/c.
