I have a credit limit of Rs 4400 on my phone. My usage was around Rs 3200 and I get a message from Airtel on 29th Jan, indicating the same and asking me to pay before I cross my credit limit. Suddenly on 30th Jan my outgoing calls are barred, when I call the customer care to find out the reason for the same they tell me that I have over shot my credit limit, I said that is not possible as my limit is 4400 and I have not reached there. Then they tell me that my credit limit has been changed suddenly to Rs 1500. This was without any prior notice and just a day after they send me a message saying my limit is Rs 4400. The reason they gave me for the redusal was that my past bills didnt have a usage of over Rs 2000, but when I confronted saying that my last bill is only of Rs 3200, they said they cant help with it as system decided everything. I was supposed to be travelling the next day on 31st Jan for work so I thought there is no point in arguing and get my phone started first, I offered to make an online payment, but they refused saying I will have to go to nearest airtel centre and pay cash and go with my credit card statement. The reason they gave for this is that I have used multiple credit cards for making payment. Firstly I have only one credit card with which I have made payment always and secondly even if I am paying by seperate credit cards then how do they care as long as they're getting their money. I spoke to 4 different customer service agents and explained them that there was a problem with their system to suddenly reduce my credit limit and bar my calls but they were not willing to listen and were rude. I even requested to speak to a senior who they said would call me back in 2 hours maximum but that never happened. They were not willing to accept an online payment as well and when I asked for nearest Airtel outlet they asked me to find that out on my own. Only as I was desperate to get my phone started as I was going to be travelling the other day I had to go look first for an ATM and then go find an airtel office, where also they refused to let me in as i was 10 mins after their closing time. The efforts I had to put in to get the phone started are unexplainable. Then next day I get a call from Airtel after I paid them and after I threatened to file a complain in the consumer forum, telling me that my credit limit has been made Rs 4400 and it was reduced by mistake. This behaviour is unacceptable they will reduce the limit anytime without notice, not listen to you at all, make you run for payment and after they receive the money increase the limit again. Had I already been in some other city travelling what would I have done.

    Hi,
    I have Airtel Post Paid connection, Plan AES 249KK.
    I'm having this plan from past 3 years, things were fine till latest Bill (Dec-08 Bill)
    I had done 128 SMS on Jan 1, I got charged for it.
    As per my plan I have 200 SMS free, I had used only 128, I got charged at Rs0.5 per SMS.
    I called up the customer care, they said they have a new rule which says on special Occasoin the SMS will be charged !!!
    I got shocked and asked what do u mean by special occasion, who defines this ?
    He has no answer, all he wasy blabbering was they had sent an SMS long before stating this rule, I had never received any message like that.
    As per I remember there were no conditions like that in my plan.
    Please let me know who is making these new conditions ?
    Is TRAI had imposed any rule to the service providers to charge full money on special occasion ?
    If the trend continues like this, Airtel might tell customers that if you call in peak hours you might be charged full (Though you are post paid), only saturday, sundays and late night calls are free.
    I feel Airtel is cheating customers and charging them.

    Please clarify about this, I'm ready to go to consumer court.

    Airtel Post Paid — For charging SMS on Special days even though I have 200 SMS free per month

    I have a plan in which I can send 200 SMS free per month but I came to know recently that AIRTEL is charging for SMS on special days in Karnakata, when I took up this plan this clause was not mentioned to me. The way they are communicating this is also not proper.

    i can understand your concern. But YES. TRAI has made the regulation that operators can charge on a predefined list of days even though you have 200 or 2000 sms free.
    The defined list varies from operator to operator and it can be obtained from their website.

      I am styaing at Vashi, Navimumbai. I have procured new Airtel prepaid connection SIM card fifteen days back. I have also activated GPRS. Now last week, I deactivated GPRS and from next day onwards I was not getting any signal to my phone. After I called up to service centre, they asked me to visit their Galary at Vashi. After visiting to the Galary, the person has checked my SIM and told that it is damaged and I need to replace it and to pay for it. Now, a new SIM if damaged within fifteen days, without removing from the cell phone, means that already damaged SIM was provided to me and they have started a new business of getting money from the costomer.
      I am planning to go to consumer court for the same and to give same complain to different newz papers also.

        I bought a Samsung 32" LCD TV on 1st January 2009. After a delay of 10 days the samsung supplied me with activation kit for installation of Airtel digital tv connection, which should have been supplied along with the LCD TV on 1st january itself.
        Thereafter, another ordeal commenced, the struggle for installation of Airtel digital tv. I faithfully followed the steps 1 to 4 as per instructions on tv activation kit. I had to ring up several times on[protected] to give repeated informations with regard to the installation of the Airtel digital tv viz.activation kit serial number, the pin on the scratch card, the home address and my mobile number. To do this I had to hold on for more than 10 to 20 minutes for connection to the Airtel operator through the call centre on the above number. It included talking to the senior person incharge etc., Finally I got registered and was given customer ID number [protected]. Every time I got stereotyped reply that please give us 48 hours for the necessary installation. Today, it is 2nd of Feb 2009 but the Airtel digital tv installation is still a mirage.
        How does the Airtel works?If this is the treatment to a new customer, what would be the treatment given to us once their system gets installed? Whether these complaints are seen at the senior level or they get suppresse at the very lower level or this is the company policy to torture any customer who falls into their net.
        Please wake the sleeping giants and take necessary measures to install the requisite digital tv connection. I always had a very good opinion of the BHARTI TELE.
        Infact i have been facing the same problem for the last two months. I bought the samsung LCD tv on 25th Dec and i am yet to get the Digital TV installation done despite making 15 calls to the Airtel support team. I am totally frustrated on the whole offer. I am not sure whether it is just an eye-wash to fool people. I also do not know how to take it up with the higher authorities at Airtel. I dont mind a delay in the installation as it happens with all providers. But despite making several attempts, i am yet to receive a call from Airtel about the installation. That puts me in a fix about the way Airtel operates.

          Airtel — stop charging Rs. 60 every month for job alerts

          sir alomost 6 months ago we mistakenly enabled the "job alert" facility and they started charging 60 Rs every month. Then we tried a lot to disable the facility. we followed the instructions, even talked to the agent in kolkata but thet keep on deducting the amount every month. sir we belong to a farming background and 60 Rs per month means a lot to us. plz try to solve our problem.           In my mobile STD was being charged @ 1/- but suddenly they started charging me 1.50/- even after recharging for 57/- as per the message received from Airtel telling that if we recharge for 57/- we will be charged for STD 1/- (Airtel to Airtel), local at 60p other STD calls at 1 Rs, RC with 57/-, six months validity).           In my airtel prepaid mobile [protected] bikini alert is coming daily, even I didn't subscribe it. Deducting 1 Rs daily. I want to un-subscribe it.

          Airtel has really lost it!!! my parent are throwing away their airtel cards today!! i suggest u guys do so too... we tried alot to stop these services but it keeps coming it cant be processed. they are really looting us and my dad actually didnt recharge his account to see what they do. and believe it or not they are taking his account into negative balance!!! it is outrageous!!!1

            i am the holder of connection from airtel mobile number [protected] and i being being charged rs.10/- per day for the services which i never got activated. i daily receive a message from the company like this "thanks for using (subscription, textbased services)subscription service on Airtel WAP. you'hve been charged Rs.10/-.Enter Fun Zone http.//igmobi.com.
            I have five time lodged a complaint on the airtel service number 121 and they assured me that this will be got deactivated within24 hours . but nothing has been done so far. there are number of customer like this being exploited daily. please help us into the matter, thanks

              My mobile number is [protected] using Airtel prepaid. I havent subscribed to cricket alerts. But i am receiving these sms regularly. i hate this alerts. I talked with customer care service but of no use. I need a solution for this immediately. Please help me asap.
              Hi, I also used to get a lot of junk sms, and I complained to Airtel, they did not bother it. so I had to find a solution of my own. after a lot of search I got a Pune Company which sells a software SMSBlock, and which costs only Rs.99. It really works very good. It basically blocks all the junk sms as per your keyword settings. My mobile is Nokia N70 and it is working perfectly well and I must say that I am very happy with this product. Hopefully this solve your problem. Regards. S Ray
              I am getting SMS from 54321 for renewing the Translator Plus Subscription Service and charging Rs.15-20 daily since past 2months. I have not subscribed to such a service. I had called Customer Care many times with NO success. Each time the Customer Care Representative transfered the Call to his supervisor, who was NOT ready to listen what the reason was and just disconnected the call. I had even visited Airtel Relationship Center to de-activate the service, but inturn told me to contact the Customer Care number to de-activate the service ?

              Could you please let me know how can I de-activate this serivce and also whom I need to contact to do the same ?

              Again, Im starting to get these SMSs daily and being charged Rs. 10-15 on a daily basis... Cant believe this problem is not being addressed even after so many complaints..

                    27/01/09- ihave registered in mozook fun club service for that i have charge RS. 10 .

                    28/01/09-on this day i have given complaint to Airtel custumercare which request ref no-[protected], FOR UNSUBSCRBE THE SERVICE he says after 30/01/09 onwards ur service will terminate & today onwards no charge is taking from you.

                    30/01/09- onthis day again Rs 10 has deducted from account

                    31/01/09 - same way Rs 10 has deduct from my A/c again logged acomplaint to Airtel custemercare, requet ref no-[protected], the custemercare officer has given reply that all the refund send to u and recived Rs 10 in my A/C on 01/02/2009 but not recived refund for 01/02/2009 & 02/02/2009 (Rs 20 for two days)

                    02/02/2009-today ihave recived sms ur service has been unsubscribed, but Rs 10 has been deducted from my A/C

                      Dear all,

                      I am having post paid Airtel connection no- [protected].
                      The monthly bill for Sept, 08 of Rs- 314.62 has already been paid by me on 06.10.08 through online bkg and my bank account has been debited. The details of same has already been provided by fax/email and to local vendoe of Airtel. However despite many a call to the airtel customer care, daily call & msg. are being recd. for making the pmt. Their customer care personnels approach & attitde boh are pathetic. They simply disconnect the call. Atlest 50 request has been initiated by me and the last one request no is. 20412472 &[protected]. Please fwd the complaint to the concerned.

                        I am using one airtel number in Himachal Pradesh since last one year. One sunday dated[protected], I received a call from the custmer care executive at 11: 00 A.M morning.He me regading my vailidity period. I respomsed him, I am in meeting plrs call me after some time, This guy abuse me on my telephone. The no which i received the call i.e.[protected].

                          For mobile [protected], online recharged through ICICI online banking for 440 Rs on 27/01/2009.
                          Payment details for Payment Id [protected]. Still amount not credited to my balance. On web site given time period is max 48 hours.
                          I complaint for the same in Relationship office in A'bad located at S G Highway. And response from executives are very cold and panic.
                          It really very terrible as recharged from inter net due to some emergency, no amount deposited in balance and mental harassment.
                          Do the needful as earliest and how should i take action against it?

I have been writing to Bharti Airtel since Nov. 2008 on the issue of faulty / over-billing but till date have received no satisfactory response from them.                               My Airtel mobile number is [protected] (Pre-Paid). For the past few months, I am facing lot of difficulties that i have been charged for unwanted 54321 WAP services. I have never subscribed or requested for any of the services from Airtel. Whenever i stop any service, another services automatically gets activated. Without my knowledge Airtel people are deducting money from my account. Please stop all this, becuase I am getting useless SMS from them.

                                Hi,
                                I am Vidhya here from Bangalore, I can claim to be one of the "highly" & extremely dissatisfied customers with Airtel. Its been hardly 6 months since I'v taken the CUG connection and I have been a victim of intolerable services from Airtel beginning from the corporate agent who provided me with the account . The list from day 1 just goes on starting from account activation, ISD, incorrect email address, call drops, false commitments, delay in responding to complaints ( web ), ECS activation and now has landed up in my outgoing calls getting barred for no particular reason . So here goes my story ...
                                26th January 11.30 pm - Post a business conference call I was on, I realize I am not even able to send messages . Considering it to be some network issue, I stay calm for the moment . Try after say 3 hours unable to call anyone, call up the CC at 11.30 pm, they claim to be an issue with the server . TAT for resolution - 8 hours Assuming its for all cutomers, I decide to wait .
                                27th January 1.30 pm - Realize the fact that the issue is just with my number . Call up CC way after their specified 8 hours time, again claim its a glitch from their technical end and applications upgradation and assures the issue will get resolved at the earliest .
                                28th January 2.30 pm - Speak to a manager by name Prashanth, again gives me a TAT of 8 hours and claims issue has been escalated .
                                30th January 1.30 pm - Called up the CC, speak to a different manager Pradeep, call gets disconnected in 10 mins . Call again asking for Prashanth, call gets disconnected in 10 mins !!! ( Wonder if the call got dropped or was forcefully disconnected ...Pathetic that they do not even have the courtesy of giving callbacks - claims to be only an inbound centre ... phew )Speak again to the same manager Prasanth, after 40 + hours of the specified TAT, asked him to give the explanation in technical terms as their template of "technical problem & applications upgradation" had become so redundant . Gives me an explanation - fair enough !!! Stated that my number had been accidently deleted from the outgoing server end, so request needs to be placed for the complete deactivation & activation of the service which ideally happens in a short span but unfortunately the resolution period had been extended owing to their application upgradation which was initiated from the 23rd of January !!! He guaranteed the request was escalated and gave me the present status that - the service had been initiated from the server end and was only pending for activation from the SIM card which in normal cases happen in 10 - 15 mins . Gave me the assurance, it "will" be resolved in 4 hours .
                                31st January 5.00 pm - Way beyond all the time provided by Prashanth, 4 hours had become 24 hours ( Phew ... I wonder if they even understand the customer !!!) I get to speak to a new manager Sathish, he was a victim of all the brunt I bore towards the services and commitments of Airtel !!! I wonder how such people claim to be managers when they hardly take the stance to convince the customers in a polite and assertive manner ... really really ridiculous ! ) Now this guy claims the resolution window has been extended to probably a few more days ...and assures me by EOD I will get it reactivated .There is a limit to my patience ... ( even Gandhiji would have lost his cool . Trust me !!!)
                                The WAIT continues and today ...
                                1st February 8.30 am - Speak again to Prashanth, the so called convincing manager, gives the raw status that the activation is still in "Pending " from the 30th ... the time I had spoken to him & that the resolution time frame will certainly be extended as the technical Departement apparently needs to take a nap over the weekend ! In his terms, they do not work madam !!!
                                Aaaaaaargh ... this is roughly the most worst and irresponsible answer I had ever received ... Customers have been kept holding their services and there lies a department who takes their own sweet time to work on any issue ...

                                Why can't things be changed . ????? Ideally the Technical department should have been attending to the issue, if it was placed as a high priority from a couple of managers . So where do you think is the flaw, the complete system which they operate or the resources who take onus of the system . I have NEVER been rude ... and looks like Airtel has literally damaged my nature too ... and yes the WAIT GOES ON ... is there anyone who can really attend to these kind of wretched services ...
                                I AM TOTALLY EXHAUSTED, FRUSTRATED ... CAN I GET HELP FROM SOMEONE PLEASE ...

                                    My request is if idid not get any service why should i pay the bill but had paid so much .

Today $th feb 2010 at about 11:30 pm I got fed up with their services when their costumer care executive hang my phone 3 times. the main problem is that ....I, yesterday make a recharge of 11 rs for msg and today they cut my 43 rs for no reason and they are now not even ready to give them back. they justify that it is just a technical error. they just thing every indian is a fool and will not say anything..... Its not the matter of Rs 43 but a matter of satisfation. This company geting bad to worst............

                                      I have requested AIRTEL to cancel my internet connection during my visit to BHARTI AIRTELLtd., 1, Malviya Nagar, Bhopal-462023 (M.P.) on 28-April-09 at 3:30 pm but the employee there at the reception centre refused to take application regarding the same.I therefore once again request you to CANCEL MY INTERNET CONNECTION on 5-April-09. Any delay regarding cancellation of internet connection onthe part of AIRTEL resulting into BILL GENERATION for the month of APRIL will not be the responsibility of the customer (PREMA ARVIND KAWADKER ) .

                                      I agree that Airtel is a total company to invest in.
                                      The airtel officer by the name of Ranjit Kapoor duped me by taking Rs. 1500/- confirming that they will install internet.
                                      Due to technical reossans when they couldnt install internet at my place then i asked for refund and have been doing so for past 3 months but to my HORROR Its a badly managed company MIS-USING Public Money in their vested intrest.
                                      Twice i have lodged wriiten as well verbal complaint against the company @ their call center and reply was same "HUMHE KHED HAI"

                                      I will strictly advise my fellow internet users not to take AIRTEL Connections @ all.
