Debit card — Misuse of Debit Card

Friends,
It a real story happened in INDIA.
BEWARE OF Private BANKS in INDIA, As there are many frauds are happening these days in INDIA in KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK.

On 17th I was coming from market & I had my wallet & Mobile in my pocket, as I reached home I put my mobile in drawer, After sometime I looked for my wallet but can’t get that at home. I assumed that it must be within house so got busy in some other work . Next day I got to know by Credit card dept that my Credit limit is getting over and is there any need to increase it. At that moment I got shocked that my wallet was lost outside & somebody had misused my Debit & Credit Cards. I Blocked all my Debit & Credit Cards at same moment. But till that time the person had made big Shopping against those cards.
here the Fraud comes infront from Bank’s side. The Signature done by the person were totally different from the signatures specimen on Card’s Stipe. Even after that Banks had let the person do shopping & now they ( KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK ) are not taking any responsibilities of getting money revert back into my Account. As I talked to Bank they agreed that Signatures must match with specimen on the stripe, but still they are not accepting it their fault.

So I would prefer you guys to be aware of opening account in Banks where you will be getting VISA Debit cards. If you have Cards with MAESTRO then your cards are totally safe .

After this incident we can assume that Our Money is not safe in Hands of KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK.
Yeh hai India meri jaan. Any thing can happen anytime.
my axis bank debit card has been blocked due to wrong pin. How can i activate it as soon as possible?

    To the Branch Manager,

I am Nitin Kapur having Saving A/c. No.[protected] in ICICI bank CP . I had received A/c Payee salary cheque from M/s. Hindustan Tin Works Ltd. Jasola N. Delhi made on PNB Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad branch for Rs.49, 738/- which I had deposited with pay in slip in ICICI drop box at Sariti Vihar on 9th, March 2011 . When I had not got the said amount credited in my a/c after 10 days I inquired from my company a/c department & they confirmed that the amount has been credited in the name of Mr. LAL Bhadur & after vigorous follow up from PNP we have come to know that this cheque has been forged and has got credited in AXIS Bank Ltd. E-64, GK. 1 N. Delhi in the a/c. No. [protected] of Mr. Lal Bhadur on 10th, March as today I have received photocopy of the cheque with the AXIS Bank stamp on it.

My simple question is that what are the checks your bank takes at the time of clearing the cheques & how can a a/c payee cheque get credited in someone else name. It is very surprising that a cheque with any cutting cant be cleared by the bank as per the RBI guide lines and here the full name is forged .

Kindly look in the matter and reply to my query &it is the responsibility of your bank to refund this amount of Rs.49, 738/- to me immediately . I have been harassed mentally and monetary due to this mistake done by your bank for the past 1 month .

    Hello Sir,
I have applied for the DDA HOUSING SCHEME 2010 through Axis bank; my application form number was 9429555. My application was unsuccessful in the housing scheme draw held on[protected]. It’s almost been more than a month since the draw happened but i didn't receive my registration money refund yet, could you please check it once if my registration money already refunded, else please let me know when I can receive my refund. Also is there any way I can track this. I checked with Axis bank Noida branch where I submitted my form, they asked me to check with Greater Kailash-I branch but unfortunately no one is picking up the phone.

It’s quite unfortunate that I am not getting any clue how I can track my registration money refund. Could you please look into the matter and do needful. Appreciate your any help.

    Thanks,

    Hello Sir,
I have applied for the DDA HOUSING SCHEME 2010 through Axis bank; my application form number was 528205. My application was unsuccessful in the housing scheme draw held on[protected].
Your bank has sent me refund order of rs 150000/ vide no 222912 dated 23.04.2011. However, it has some error. My a/c no mentioned in the order is [protected] of BOI which is not correct and I could not deposit it to my a/c. My correct a/c no is [protected] of Bank of Baroda, Dohad, Gujarat.
It’s quite unfortunate that I could not avail my money refund due to this error.
Hence, I request you to kindly cancel your refund order no 222912 dated 23.04.2011 and re issue me the correct one with correct a/c no and bank name as a/c no is [protected] of Bank of Baroda, Dohad, Gujarat. your quich response in this regard would be highly appreciated.

      Resolved

Already I was charged for a Merchant Transaction (in Euros), for which I complained & my bank is probing details & requires 120 days.
This occurred on 2nd Nov 09.

Their was another transaction made on 11th Nov 09.
This was in USD ($), where my currency is INR. My bank felt it was a fraud, called me, blocked my card, and issued a new one.
For this I sent the request form again. But on 30th Nov 09, they say it cant be processed as it was made online in a secure way.

      http://www.cerias.purdue.edu/site/blog/post/verified-by-visa-issues/

This site clearly shows that Visa user id can be easily hacked if card details is known. Also when i dint know my user id, I used "Forget Password" to retrieve my user id & reset my password.

So it is a flaw of Visa or my bank to not have a secure way of this process.

Please help me out in this regard, where in the actual culprit can be caught and my money returned.

I have repeatedly called and sent mails to the merchant (requires 2days to reply), Axis Bank (requires 24hrs), Visa....but I dint get any reply from the merchant till now.

      They say

We take this opportunity to inform you that, the transaction (Verified by Visa) done on November 11, 2009 of Rs. xxx /- is done by entering User ID and password available only with the cardholder. The Merchant Acquiring Bank has successfully claimed the transaction. Since these are done in secure environment with ECI indicator '5' there are no dispute rights. Hence no dispute/charge back can be raised and cardholder is liable to pay the charges.
We regret for the inconvenience cause in this regard.

      Please help in this issue.

On 20th January 2013 I got an SMS while I was at my Home in Ahmedabad, GUJARAT, India.

“Thank you for using your AXIS bank CREDIT for Rs.10767.00 and Rs. 10116 in America to a chain store MACY's EAST.

I immediately contacted the Customer Care who informed me that various transactions have been made of total Rs. 21000 and The person blocked my credit card and advised me to fill up the dispute form. I inquired about the Merchant Names and the I.P. Address of all the above transactions but he replied that the merchant details would be available after 48 hours.

Now i have contacted the AXIS customer care more than 20 times from last 3 months but they are unable to tell me the I.P. Address and names which are necessary to file a police compliant.

3 months have passed but there has been no progress in the case, i have put up RBI redresal complaint too but there is no effect on thick skined AXIS bank employees.

In the current year I had made a transaction of just of Rs.78600 against that I had paid consolidation charges of Rs.3355.

So, is it justifiable?? When i had opened account in you BANK, your rep. shown me so many green picture now for closure of my account i am begging.

        Dear Smt. Kakoli Majumdar,

I had marked you all the append mail CC since my first request.

I dont know if you people or your bank are working in this way where a people get caught & you are not allowing him to go till his death then where sufferer can get shelter??

Now its a request if you can help me out then i will be highly oblige.

Otherwise, I dont know how where I should go or have to search for shelter

I had taken a loan for Rs 1,50,000 from AXIS Bank 3 years back. I had no alerts or balance statements from the Bank, it was me who had to call all the time to know when my loan is due to close. Then also there was no response from the Personal loan department in Ranigunj, Hyderabad office.

They dont tell anything just take my mobile no and tell that they will be calling me, but they never call back. i had to get a cash back offer of 3000rs which i was not told untill the loan is closed.

Last month the loan was closed, but this month also i was debited again with the EMI amount of 5400, when asked there reply was that it will returned back, i dont know how can they debit from the account.

I had wrost experiance with axis bank personal loan department.

            Sir,
            Sub: Poor Customer Service

I have been your customer for many years now with the number [protected]. My second connection with Airtel is [protected] also in my name used by my wife. Further, we have ADD ON connections [protected] & [protected] for the above two numbers respectively being used by my children. I have also several other connections with VODFONE & BSNL for my business staff. I wish to state that I have always been very prompt in making payments which you will find in your records. The billing date of [protected] & [protected](Add On) is 28th and [protected] & [protected](Add On) 7th of every month. Of late I have been harassed by your staff by SMS & calls many times daily stating that I have not paid October Bill etc. in spite of explaining to them that there must be some error in Airtel accounts department and to verify before making further calls.
I have contacted customer care and discussed with following staff who promised to look into the matter and get back – All in vain.

SMS and calls are being made by your staffs for payment without any concern to my number as well as add on number which has become a big nuisance. Following statement of bill received and payments made have been discussed with above mentioned staff with no effect and is for your reference and necessary action:

            • Far excess billing has been done for the month of November 08. In the Nov. Bill, payment received in the previous month has been reflected as only Rs.599.85/- although I have paid the full amount of Rs.1365.85/-. You may see that for my Aug Bill of Rs.2041.37 + 805.50 = 2846.87 for both the [protected] + [protected] paid by a common cheque No.918135 dated 09.09.08 an amount Rs.3324.79 is excess by Rs.477.92 by mistake has also not been reflected in your subsequent billing. We have been making payments all these years for both the above numbers by a common cheque which I have discontinued and decided to pay by separate cheques from October 2008 to avoid confusion and errors.
            • In view of being a person with strong principles and ethics, I would appreciate if your staffs stop making calls/SMS to remind me of payments in future.
            • It is observed that whenever a problem requiring clarification, there is no continuity/follow up to effectively tackle and address the issue. I have even observed your staff deliberately cutting off in the midst of conversation and there is no way to get reconnected to continue and end the pending problems. The next day the same is started all over again by another staff.
            • Last but not the least, if necessary corrections are not made immediately, and continued with harassment by SMS/Calls for payments I shall have to consider disassociating with your organization regardless of being one of your long standing customers.
            Regards.

            M.A. Medappa.

              Hi

              Loan account:

I am paying my instalment of home loan to AXIS BANK every month since last 2 years through ABN AMRO cheques. Last month when my ABN cheque went to AXIS bank for clearence they bounced it saying that signature is not matching and deducted charges for cheque bounce.

Till this time it was fine, i am ready to pay the charges if my signature is not matching because it is my fault (I have not seen my cheque and signatures till yet though). So i submitted the cash of my instalment amount in lieu of that cheque bounce direct to AXIS BANK.

But the problem arose when AXIS BANK again presented the same cheque for clearence, which was again bounced due to same reason of signature not matching with bank charges again deducted.

I know and understand that bank has to present the cheque twice but that is the case if the cheque was bounced first time due to the reason of insufficient funds, thinking that may be till next time customer submit the necessary funds.

But can somebody explain me that if the cheque has been bounced for the first time due to signature mismatching, how could the same cheque will clear the second time. Obviously that cheque is bound to be bounced beacuse god will not come on earth and make corrections in the signature before presenting it for the second time.

And again the second time also bank charges have been deducted.

I request the bank to please look into this and refund the charges they have taken second time because the cheque bounced due to signature difference cannot be submitted for the second time for clearence.

Also can you please send that bounced cheque back to my address so that i can see my signatures and stop submitting the same cheque again and again to take bank charges from my account.

I know that banks are going through bad credit crunch situations but that does not means that they should do illegal things to get money from customers.

If this is the policy then Banks should change the policy for the cheque bounce due to signature mismatch because no-one in this world can clear that particular cheque no matter how many times bank submit it.

But yes if banks want to make money they can present it as many times as they want. Good job done guys.....

              Thanks for reading.

Loan sanction on 17th November 2006 from your Jamshedpur branch for
taking flat No. 1934, Vijaya Home Maker Pvt Ltd (CCA), 2nd floor,
              Gajraj Mansion, Bistupur, Jamshedpur

Sub: Non-disbursement of instalments agreed by you to the builder, M/s
Vijaya Home Maker Pvt Ltd, jamshedpur.

              Dear Sir:
This refers to the subject matter cited above regarding disbursement
of instalments due on the respective dates already provided to you
during processing of my loan amount to be disbursed to M/s Vijaya Home
              Maker at the appropriate time.

I have received an advise from M/s Vijaya Home Maker Pvt Ltd,
Jamshedpur that the instalments due to be received by the on the
respective dates already intimated to you were not deposited by you in
time. In view of this, they had intimated me that an additional amount
of Rs. 52, 289.23 is to be deposited immediately by me.

My contention is that, the delay on your part in disbursement of
instalments due to M/s Vijaya Home Maker Pvt Ltd in time was not made
by you made me to pay the additional panel interest calculated by the
has comes to Rs. 52, 289.23.

In this connection, M/s Vijaya Home Maker Pvt Ltd has informed me that
unless I pay this panel interest, they are not going to hand over the
flat within the specified scheduled time and they have unduly delaying
handing over the flat more than one year.

In view of the above, for no fault of mine, I had to face lot of
mental agony and financial burden, is purely on the part of the
bankers delay in disbursement of instalments. Therefore, I am once
again requesting you that this additional amount of Rs. 52, 289.23 is
totally, to be borne by you.

However, after a prolonged negotiations with M/s Vijaya Home Maker Pvt
Ltd, they had agreed to reduce the panel interest to Rs. 35, 000.00,
which has been paid by me on your behalf.

Since I had already paid this additional panel interest (negotiated
amount), I would request you to adjust with one of the instalemnts and
credit this amount to my account, under intimation to me.

I am once again requesting you that the instalemnts that falls on the
respective due dates are strictly adhered or otherwise, M/s Vijaya
Home Maker Pvt Ltd, will not entertain any further about handing over
              of the said flat.

Your personal intervention in the matter is very much required and see
that the instalemnts are paid regularly well within the specified due
              dates.

Finally, I am once again informing you that this additional panel
interest imposed by M/s Vijaya Home Maker Pvt Ltd is purely on the
delayed payments made by you. Therefore, this additional burden needs
to be borne by you only.

On enquiry from your Jamshedpur branch, they are still scrutinizing /
verifying why this delay has occurred in disbursement of instalments.

Kindly looked into the matter and advice.

              With regards,

              Arindam Mishra

                  Hi,

I have purchased an old flat, the existing owner is having a home loan with Axis bank.
So, I have applied for loan transfer in same bank, as the process will be faster, but now 2 months have passed and till now i have not got the home loan.

I am clear in CIBIL report, and my eligibility for the loan is clear, still this much delay..............., this very annoying, unreasonable.

Please, can someone take some strong action.

                  Hi,

Even i am Having the same issue, i have applied for a home loan with axis bank, the flat owner is already having a home loan with axis bank and we are closing that from axis bank and opening ours.
the project was previously approved by axis bank, hence we were little relieved that all the documents are there with the bank, but now we have a got a loan saction letter and its almost 10 days over when we checked with them they are telling we are not having any legal documents with us so you have to provide all the legal documents again,
since its already approved one atleast till the current owner ( 1st owner) has bought the flat they should be having the documents received from the builder and must have verified the same, they said the lawyer who has verified the same before has left axis bank so the new lawyer needs all documents again.
The bank should be having a copies of the legal documents from builder, where has that gone and if the lawyer left bank is not our fault, they should have a legal opinion from the previous lawyer . where is that copy?

also the manager for home loan at axis bank home loan branch jayanagar 4rth block, bangalore was so rude talking to us, he was behaving as if he was doing some favour to us.

                    Dear Sirs,

My wife Mrs. Annapoorani Ravi was working as an LIC agent at New Delhi and the commission is getting credited to the bank account directly. Following is the complaint against Axis Bank, Janakpuri, New Delhi for debiting 'DEBIT CARD RENEWAL CHARGES' even though it is a salary/commission account. The details are given below: There is no response from the bank even after 2 months:

Debit card charges - SB A/c. No. [protected] - LIC Agent No[protected] Name: Mrs. Annapoorani Ravi

From: Sivaraman Ravi to Axis Bank, Janakpuri, New Delhi.

                    Dear Sirs,

                    Ist Reminder

On Oct 13, I sent a mail on the captioned subject, but not even an acknowledgment received from your side. Given below the matter for your doing the needful.

                    Thanks.
                    Annapoorani Ravi

                    Dear Sirs,

The above SB a/c was opened by the LIC, Branch Code 11A, Janakpuri Commercial Complex, New Delhi - 110058 towards my agency commission with zero balance facility a few years back on the assurance that it may be treated as salary account - even TDS gets deducted whenever an amount is credited to my above account. As a proof, it is a salary account, I give below the recent statement shows that on 4/9/09 the amount 'transfer of salary' shows Rs. 777/- credited to my account. But unfortunately, you have debited an amount of Rs. 111 as debit card annual charge on 25/7/09 which was not supposed to be for salary account - this is something unusual. I, therefore, request you to kindly reverse the amount by crediting into my above account & oblige.

                    Thanks.

                    Annapoorani Ravi

I made apurchase from Koutons Retail India Pvt.Ltd(SHILPI CREATIONS) 20 G.T.ROAD ASANSOL WEST BENGAL Phone[protected].on 02/05/2009 of Rs-1350/-.
I gave my Debit Card at the time of payment. It showed "DECLINE".After that i gave my credit card and the payment was successful.
on the 2nd day i came to know from my Bank (BANK OF INDIA) that i have made a payment of Rs 1350 from my Debit Card.
So i made double payment of the same item purchased on that day.
The showroom dealer says it is the problem of Axis Bank .
I have went to him at least 25 times and he gives a simple reply that the Bank will credit the amount in my account ,but 7 months have passed but i have not received any paymnets.

                          Dear Sir,

I have already paid my credit card payment. Before that i was also in the defaulter list.but after the payment still i am in same list. That is why my loans are not accepted by some bank.

i saw the my defaulter report one thing the minus point is if any bank reject any request that is also update in the defaulter list might be there is some other reason for rejecting like address problem or other things.

Kindly remove my name in defaulter list.

for further query i will give you my PAN card no:.

                          Kindly regards.

I have salary account ( 0 balance) with Axis Bank, Gandhidham branch, District -Kutch -Gujarat. My A/c No. is [protected].
They had deducted Rs. 750.00+77.25 (Service Tax @ 10.30%) from my account on dated[protected]. when I asked them why this happened they told me that not minimum balance in your account. I see your corporate salary fees and charges statement online but no appear head cosolidated charges in this statement and I also minimum balance charges in your scheme code salary power plus mentioned in NIL so, how can you deducted Rs.750.00+77.25 this amount from my account before even they never communication and mobile phone call to me or never send any other notice or circular on my address before deduction. No bank is deducting this transaction charges, if it is not under RBI rules. then now they can do this?
Quarterly only 9 transaction is free, beyond that they will deducted Rs.50.00 per transaction+service tax(10.30%). I visited the my operational branch & Head Branch officials. They are unable to provide justification.

I am holding a salary account in your bank. I never request to issue me a credit card but considering my salary account your bank issued me a credit card. I started using the card since Decemebr 2008. Since then I have at regular intervals atleast paid the minimum amount. In the month of April I issued a Cheque of Rs 5000/- with got reversed and I paid Rs 2000/- in cash. In the next month also I paid a cheque of Rs 9000/- As I never received the bill regularly I was unable to know the past payment history. Later on I found that the cash payment is not reflecting in the statement. Thus I stoped making further payments. After having a word with the executive in August I made a payment of Rs 1000/- through Cheque. In the early week of Nov I again had a word with Axis bank CCE and she assured me to resolve my issue but requested me to make the minimum payment of Rs 3200/- and I agreed and promised her that I will make the payment by 10Nov as my salary gets credited to my slary account by 5th Nov.

On 7th Nov I discovered that my full salary has been debited towards the credit card OS and a lein amount of Rs 8805/- has been put to my salary account without any information to me. On enquiry I found that my outsatnding was Rs20348/- thus as a bank policy they have deducted the amount. Since then I am continuously mailing the customer care office but all in vain.

I have gone through a valley of financial & mental agony and hope to get a fair response from your end.

I have cleared my outstandings of my axis bank credit card but yet my cbill score is reflecting very low. Is this that i will not be eligible for anyother financing options since i have made the complete payment for the card or the cbill rules says not to provide any financing options to the persons who have once overused the card. My card number is--[protected].

                                    Dear Sir,

I was having the salary account with Axis bank Ltd in the year 2006,On behalf of this the bank issued the credit card with the limit of Rs 12000/- saying that there would not be any annual or any other Charges, but despite of a good repayment 1 year later the bank debited my account by the heading Annual Fee. When i enquired about this the bank person said that you pay the due amount along with the annual fee the bank will refund it on the very next bill but it was not done.
After this miscommitment i stopped the payment for some months. one day one person called me asking there is a due of Rs-12000/- on my card,I was shocked.after a very long discussion many calls (threatening calls too). he himself said me to deposit the cash amount Rs-6500/- instead of Rs 12000/-
On 15/07/2008 i paid the said amount through cash vide Axis bank Receipt no-29180 dated 15/07/2008.at that time he gave me the settlement letter aswell.despite of this they added my name in cibil.
in this regard i have tried to mail to the banks customer help desk but did not give any positive response.I request you to please help me and arrange to delete my name from CIBIL.
you can check my repayment history from other banks as well.

                                    Regards

                                      Dear All,

This is my strong complain against MetLife as well as Axis Bank.

                                      Point are Below,

                                      1. I am senior Citizen person account holder of axis bank Koch behar branch.
                                      2. I was walking to axis bank for invest in bank fixed deposit.
                                      3. One of Mr. Tamal axis bank employee try to convince me for invests in MetLife instead of Bank FD.
                                      4. Mr. Tamal introduce me with Mr. Amit Kar, MetLife Employee.
                                      5. Mr. Amit Kar explain me his MetLife plan as: Its a three years plan, I have to pay a premium for three years, I Can withdraw
my money after three years, I will get a return of 15% compounded interest for three years on my investment.
                                      6. As per this conversation with Mr. Amit Kar and Mr. Tamal I convince and I invest Rs. 30000 on it.
                                      7. But suddenly when I go through the trams & condition of the policy I come to know that there is no as such 15% interest is
written on the policy deed and if I withdraw my money after three years then I have to pay a charge of 70% of my first year
basic premium which I was not informed by neither Mr. Amit Kar neither Mr. Tamal. And one more thing that I am a retired
government. Employee. But in the MetLife application it’s written as businessman.

I have send a complain mail to Axis bank as well as MetLife but I haven’t get any response from axis bank, and MetLife give me a useless response which means they can easily play with my hard and soul money. And in between some one call me from MetLife Siliguri branch and try to convince me to withdraw this complain and continue this plan.

After this bad experience I completely fed up with both the company because it’s a clear case of cheating. So I have sent these complain mail to you as a higher authority with lots of expectations and I am praying for justice and necessary action against the guilty. I further request you to help me to get my money back as soon as possible.

I strongly agree with this complaint. Axis bank & Metlife are cheating people by giving false commitments. Even my father suffered the same thing by the hands of the Axis bank Manager and Metlife Employee by taking up Meteasy policy on their recommendation. Now he finds that everthing that was informed while taking up the policy was false. Even we have lost 1/3 rd of the money.
I am Mr Prabir Kumar Banerjee of Jalpaiguri, Babupara. I'm also cheated by Axis Bank & Metlife. Type of commitment and type of cheating are same to same.I have no word to hate them.
I Laxmikanta Pradhan of Bhubaneswar 100% agree with you, as they keep on giving false commitment year after another, even after 5 years I lost more than 1.5 lacs because of this .I suggest not to believe such type of organization and their couterpat bussiness people .Both are equally responsible Axis Bank & Metlife.
I am a Swami of Sivananda Ashram in Rishikesh. Axis bank officer from Rishikesh branch pressured me to take MetLife, saying it was not insurance policy but investment and i would get good dividend after 6 years. I clearly stated i did not want any insurance as being a Swami i have not dependents, wife, children, etc. The officer, Kavita, said it's not insurance but investment. I trusted her. She said the papers were taking time to draw up, so i couldn't yet see everything. Finally, thinking the bank would want it's customers to prosper, i trusted and signed. Now they taken out two amounts of rs. 49, 000, and i cannot cancel the policy until third payment of rs. 49, 000. Then i only get half of that total, rs. 74, 000. I never wanted any insurance. The beneficiary on the policy is my own Ashram, and i am the only one living there. Axis Bank and MetLife are doing big fraud together. Swami Bodhichitananda, Rishikesh

                                      I am total agreed.
Axis Bank and Met Life are doing big fraud together.
also agree with all of you. I am also a senior citizen.Through Axis Bank, I paid 78000 @26000 per year for three years from Jan 2009 to jan 2011 and my fund value is still 56000, mean, net loss of 22000 against market going more that double. when contacted for surrender, they asked 40% surrender charges of the fund value. Though I have complained PMO but no hope as there Met Life Reperesentative called about complaint and told me to go through T&C. For your information, they are now, Pnbmetlife
