[Resolved]  CESC — increase in bill amount after reducing the consumption

suddenly increase bill amount more than double
my consumer no-[protected], as per your records my consumption units in month of feburary is 64 units and suddenly it increase in month of march 151 units, and after seeing that consumptions i reduce my consumption but again in month of april consumption units shows 173 units.So plz i am not understanding the reason of increasing the units of consumptions, i am living in a rented house, and the owner of house has lots of meter so plz check it carefully and oblige to avoid the high slab.Thanking you,

Pl z see my meter reading again
Because your officers do mistake he don’t see my meter readied.
He write total meter reading 4444 units.21/07/2009, But I see on 22/07/2009 at 8pm when i found my
Bill total meter reading is 4334 units.
Last payment was Rs550. & this month is amt is same.

i am totally agreed with the gentleman...my situation is more weird than anybody.i have rented a flat in silpara, kolkata where i have not shifted yet, as i would stay there in regularity from this november...since theres no consumption of electricity..to my greatest and weirdest surprise they have sent a bill near about 1500rs and did the same in the month of october.i am helpless, i dont know what to do...?from august to this october my meter shows a consumption of near about 5 units or so..for which i have to pay nearly 3000/-...that means cesc is charging Rs600/unit!!

CESC — increase bill amount more than double

For last year, I got increase in bill month by month hence consumption is same or reducing after
seeing bill figure. But after several complaint,we hadn’t got any action taken agnst the complain.
Now satuation goes up unacceptable and unavoidable because in month of August,09 unit is 176
and in September,09 this is 249 units. Meter reading is also showing as in bill.
Therefore you are requist to investigate the reason and solve in favoure of customer.
No more satuation to pay bill like that.

Sub : Discrepancy in my Electricity Bill Consumer no - [protected]

This regarding my earlier Mail dated 9th Nov'2009 for the Discrepancy in my Electricity Bill Consumer no - [protected].In this regards I like to thank you for your prompt action. On 15th Nov;2009 one of your representative visited my premisses and examined my Energy Meter. According to him Energy meter is not functioning properly as a result my Monthly Electricity Bill is getting inflated.I was informed that the faulty Meter would be replaced and descripancy in Bill would be resolved at the earliest possible time.
But this is till dateunfortunate to inform you that no action yet been taken in order to resolve this isssue. My this month (Oct'2009) Bill for an amount of Rs2080/= also appears very much in higher side.
Kindly look into it and take appropriate action without any delay.

Suddenly increase bill amount all most double.
My consumer no-[protected], as per your records my consumption units in month of September 2009 is 256 units (Meter Reading was 18442) and suddenly it increase in month of October 384 units (Meter Reading is 18826). I have checked the meter today i.e. on 01/12/09 and reading is 18763. I don't know how it is possible one month before reading was 18826. please look in to the matter and solve my problem immediatly. Due date of my electric bill is 1.12.09. I hope you you will treat this urgently basis.

Dear all

It's surprising to note that no action from CESC end in connection to the problems. I don't know about the others. Neither I came to know about registration of my complain nor, any action from the local end. My bills are comming at inflated, rather abnormally high, amount.

This is my third reminder. Looks like this is a simple blog where consumers only give their complains and vent off their frustration.

Please go to http://www.cescltd.com/ and post your complaints as a consumer. They have a very prompt ticketing system. For example I posted the complaints online. Within 30 minutes I reveived a call from them and they arranged for checking the meter to find out the cause of the inflated bills. This is a forum and not a hastle free consumer court where somebody can just post their complaints and wait for somebody to fix it for them for free. I[censored] guys have issues then do buzz the right people for an answer.
Dear sir,

I have three meters in my premises no- 25, Masjid Bari lane, Baranagar, Kolkata-700036.Name of the holders, consumer nos & Meters nos are furnished below.

1. Dilip Kumar Basu [protected](con no[protected]m.no)

2 Rita Basu * [protected](do[protected]do)
*(Though there is A.C Provision is made in the meter by you as applied by us in middle of last year but we have not yet installed air condition machine till date.. We have decided not to install air conditioner machine at present.)

3. Birendra Nath Basu [protected](con. no[protected]m.no)

But we are observing that we have to pay a huge amount in the Meter of Rita Basu.. We are not using the first floor where the meter connection is made other than the Pump connection fir supply of water.

We have not paid any electrical charge for the month January & February as all the 6 Bills have come to us with a comments "Please Do not pay this bill. We have received 3 bills amounting together Rs1800/-.The amount of each bill is segregated below:
Mrs. Rita Bose Rs.1200/-
Sri Birendra Nath Bose Rs.540/-
Sri Dilip Kr Basu Rs.120/-

It trans-pared to us the bill amount of Rita Bose is much excessed. It is going on from the middle of the last year as and when from air condition machine (A.C.)provision was made.We have not yet installed A.C machine probable may not be install at all.

Viewed in the context above, If provision of A.C in the meter of Rita Bose increase the billing amount, I request you to arrange to withdraw the A.c provision immediately and also arrange to refund the excess amount taken if any.

I shall look forward for your early compliance in the matter.
