Hi Sir/Madam,
CESC has deducted an amount twice for a same bill. Unknowingly the bill was paid second time through net banking. Instead of showing already paid, they deducted the amount and also generated a second receipt as well. This is a kind of cheating what they will try to mask as system error. Please take action as early as possible.So I can get my money back and this fraud act can be stopped.
I have added screen shots of the receipts.Please check them.

I talked to customer care and they said it will be adjusted next month. The system is a bit weird but its not a fraud. So any amount of money can be paid, that will be deducted from the next month's bill as excess paid amount.

      This is to inform you that we have been making payments pertaining to the bills for the entire tenure specified and it is evident from the payment schedule that there is no outstanding amount on the same.
      Hence the intention for not allowing the meter to be accessed is not correct.

      Without understanding the problem of the consumer and not providing any resolution to us, Madam Simita Chakraborty, Dy Manager Commercial lodged an allegation against our family on 18th March 2014 (afternoon) over telephone that we are not giving access to the meter. This is not correct.

      We reside in the said premises of 39 Kankulia Road Kolkata 700029 since a long time as a respected household citizen.

      Since Dec 2013 we have been following up with your Mandevilla Office with your Dy. Director for meter reading of the two consumer nos. [protected] in the name of Sri Bijoy Krishna Goswami and [protected] in the name of Smt Shanti lata Goswami.

      Recently due to certain medical emergency and trauma, my family had to undergo several visits to certain medical institutions like Tata Medical Centre, EEDF and Woodlands Hospital for undergoing treatment during day time. We have sufficient proofs to substantiate the same. This matter has been informed several times verbally and visits by our family members to the Hon. Dy. Director at Mandivilla Gardens CESC office. Understanding our reputation and payment trend, he had been kind enough to attend the query and he confirmed that your colleague (CESC Officials) will take prior appointment to get the reading done but same will be only once. We agreed to his resolution. He even guided us to convert into a prepaid meter.

      But in spite of his assurance and kind guidance, nobody did take prior appointment w.r.t meter reading.

      Then we tried to call Madam Simita Chakraborty several times at your contact no. [protected] on various dates between 28th Feb 2014 to 6th mar 2014 as this number has been endorsed on the CESC Bill front page for addressing Bill related issues. But to our surprise this phone was not responding to our calls. After few days the no [protected] was picked up and we could speak to Madam Simita Chakraborty. She also assured on the same lines that prior email will be sent along with timings in order to facilitate us.

      Fortunately we received an email which described that the meter would be read on 18th March 2014 without any timings.
      My family members were existent in the said premises and waiting patiently for the meter reading to happen on your scheduled date i.e. 18th March 2014 but nobody turned up for this valued job to the best of our knowledge.

      When we called you after several attempts to address the issue and rescheduled timings or any legitimate solutions and tried to engage with you patiently, we were treated very rudely by you over telephone and received blunt threatening that these two lines will be disconnected and we might address the issue to who so ever in India.

      We believe we are the consumers of a leading brand of Electric Supply in Kolkata and we have to bear such brilliant threats for CESC officials as we don't have a choice to migrate to other service provider.

      Without resolving any issue, we were threatened by Madam Simita Chakraborty several times on 18th March 2014 without any logic.

      In order to resolve the issue, we only request you to arrange for a formal visit at the earliest to facilitate reading for the two consumer nos. [protected] in the name of Sri Bijoy Krishna Goswami and [protected] and intimate us with the units consumed.

      Please do the necessary adjustments against the consumer nos.

      Lastly, we request you to please facilitate our rights and enable smooth customer service.

        This is to let you know that my billing address is printed wrongly in the monthly statement. Due to which I am facing huge problem. Please correct it as mentioned below:

          Sir The subject bill is showing more units consumed than normally we consume. My consumer no. is [protected], domestic. ID-[protected], Bill no. [protected], reading date: 03/03/2014. We started staying at this flat from mid March 2013 and units consumed as per bills are as follows, though it shows inconsistent units consumed earlier also, but this time I cannot accept -- Bills for May 2013 units 282 June 385 July 214 Aug 213 Sep 270 Oct 158 Nov 132 Dec 147 Jan 2014 205 Feb 268 Please note, Sep 2013 & Feb 2014, when no AC/ fans we run. We are only couple staying. Our electric consumption is economical. We use our gadgets judiciously. A comparative look-through will make you understand my point of grievance. In this February month, nothing extra was consumed. I request you to please look into it, and with your experience, find out what is going on .               I have received average bill(As mentioned in the bill) of rs1020.00 although last month it was rs 100/ -as the primises was vacant due to departure of tenants in the month of december'13. Electricity was not at all consumed during period mentioned in the bill..
              Yesterday(14.03.14) a new meter was installed by your office. On enquiry they told reading is not displayed properly. If not used, then how reading will be reflected.
              However, i have no objection regarding inatallation of new meter. But what about
              Bill raised by you? Against no consumption why this bill raised? As the due date is
              22.03.2013. I request you to take immediate corrective measure & send a revised bill
              As per your rules. Otherwise i will be compelled to approach ld. Ombudsman/ cosumer court.

                This means, while I have consumed 291 units, the bill states
                “0” units.

                So, for the next meter readings, and thereafter, if your
                meter reader notes the correct readings, I have to pay a hefty rate, as per
                your rate table, for no fault of mine, as I will loose your First 25 units
                rate, next 35unit rates, next 45unit rates, next 50 unit rates, next 159 unit
                rates.


                This is for no fault of mine and actually the fault of your ‘meter-reader’
                staff. This actually, is a serious deficiency of services resulting in my
                excess payment, acute financial hardship and mental agony.


                Please do the needful at your earliest.
                CESC has become worse than the worst Govt office. Nothing seems to work.

                    Consumer name Prabir Chakraborty Consumer No. [protected] Premises- 17/1/17A, Jadavpur Central Road, Kolkata- 700032 To D.R.O CESC, Since July 2013 i am not using my above meter service due to my staying another place. On July 2013 my unit consumption correctly was shown as nil. Surprisingly in the month of August it showed in CESC bill as 560 unit which was absurd. My meter's display board at that time was not displayed anything. i lodged complaint before CESC having docket no. 230913/[protected] dated 23.9.2013. no response received by me. Thereafter upto December my bill is being sending with huge amount. Till December it comes upto 9160 and i was unable to pay that huge wrong bill. After several visits CESC representatives did not pay any heed to my case. CESC in the meantime on January 2014 CESC persons disconnected my said defective meter and now I am in painful situation without electricity also not being able to reside in my premises for that. CESC is not restoring my connection by changing disputed meter and correcting my bill.

                          Hi, In a recent development in our area in Santoshpur area, Kolkata-75 there has been a regular power cut that is happening from 11AM to 5PM daily due to some kind of maintenance work. In this day and age it is unbelievable that CESC has to put an entire area under no power status to do maintenance. This is highly unacceptable. Please see to it that the maintenance is done without disrupting normal life for a large number of days

                            The October 2013 CESC bill no.[protected] was Rs.1060.00. I paid the bill, through Credit Card on 30.11.2013 vide Transaction Reference Number.531374. This bill was also paid from my Bank on 25.11.2013 as seen from the pass-book.Rs1049.00 & was credited to [protected] CESC, Kolkata.. THUS, DOUBLE PAYMENT WAS MADE FOR THE OCTOBER 2013 BILL. The next bill for November 2013 was for Rs.854.00 and the bill number was [protected]. The November 2013 bill had a comment "Please do not pay this bill". I want to know was the above an adjustment of the extra payment made for the month of October 2013? If so, then the balance of Rs.1049.00 less Rs.854.00 i.e.Rs.195.00 is yet to be adjusted.
