Since last month I am receiving very high electricity bill from CESC Kolkata.Last Month Electic bills was 3483 Units, which is very much high than what it should be.
I have a doubt in my mind that either Electric Metre is not working properly or someone is doing Electric theft from our metre as we are unable to check what exactly happening because the metres are locked in a room.
So request you to kindly look into it & resolve it as soon as possible.

A FEW DAYS BACK I GOT AN E-BILL WHICH STATES THAT I HAVE TO PAY A BILL OF Rs.10100 ( IF PAID BY[protected].MY CONSUMER NUMBER IS [protected].

THIS IS A TOTAL INVALID FIGURE AND THIS AMOUNT IS JUST BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS.THEREFORE I KINDLY REQUEST YOU TO SEE INTO THIS MATTER DEEPLY AND RESOLVE THE PROBLEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

IF YOU CHECK MY PREVIOUS BILLS AND THE UNITS CONSUMED VIZ A VIZ THE NUMBER OF PERSONS IN MY FAMILY(2), YOU CAN MAKE A WILD GUESS AND VISUALISE THE AMOUNT VERY CLEARLY.

DAY BEFORE YESTERDAY, I WENT TO VICTORIA HOUSE TO TAKE A SUGGESTION ABOUT WHAT TO DO NEXT.AN ELDERLY GENTLEMAN, AFTER SEEING MY COPY BILL SUGGESTED ME THAT THIS IS PURELY A FAULT OF CESC AND TO GO TO THE MANDIVALAE GARDENS CESC OFFICE
AND MAKE THE PAYMENT AFTER RECTIFYING IT FROM THE RESPECTIVE DEPARTMENT.

TODAY WHILE I WENT FOR RECTIFICATION OF THE BILL, THE PERSON FROM THE CASH COUNTER TOLD ME VERY CLEARLY THAT THE BILL CANNOT BE RECTIFIED AS HE SAYS THAT THE PERSONS WHO WENT FOR REGULAR METER CHECKING HAS NOT FOUND ANYONE IN THE HOUSE, SO CESC HAS ISSUED AN AVERAGE BILL.


PLEASE SEE INTO THIS MATTER DEEPLY AND REPLY ME BACK AT "[protected]@yahoo.co.in" or at "[protected]@rediffmail.com" so that i can clear off my dues as fast as possible.

i am getting a huge amount of bill for last few month, i am staying alone and past all the day outside at my office, i am using a fridge 24 hrs running, a tv run daily almost 7 hrs ( 6.30-8.00 am and 6.30 -11 pm), a computer mxm 7 hrs a day( 8.00-9.30 am) and (7.00-10.30 pm), a fan runs 15 hrs a day and a tube with a power saving bulb. so i think it is an absurd bill please verify the meter or read the meter clearly.

    THIS IS TO BRING TO YOUR KIND NOTICE THAT I THE ABOVE MENTIONED CONSUMER OF CESC WOULD LIKE TO INFORM YOU ABOUT YOUR BILLING AMOUNT AND METER READED UNITS WHICH ARE FLUCTUATING AND INCREASING GRADUALLY FOR LAST FEW MONTHS. NO POWER CONSUMABLE EQUIPMENTS BEING ADDED TO MY HOUSE AND USAGE ARE NORMAL AS BEFORE, BUT WHY THERE IS SO MUCH DIFFERENCE OF THE METER READING?
    I HAD CHECKED ALL THE WIRINGS, IT IS IN GOOD CONDITION. I HAD CHANGED ALL THE LIGHTS TO LOW WATTAGE CFL LAMPS. BUT STILL THE METER READING IS JUMPING UP CONTINUOUSLY. HOW CAN IT HAPPEN?
    AS I FEEL THERE MAY BE TWO WAYS 1) THEFT OF POWER FROM MY METER. 2) MECHANICAL FAULT OF THE METER? BUT IN BOTH CASES I AM PENALISE AND PAYING MONEY TO YOU, WHY SHOULD I BEAR IT?

    b) IN THE LAST MONTH THE RECORD HIGHEST UNITS ARE CONSUMED AS PER YOUR BILL.
    PLEASE LOOK AT THE METER READING FROM 02/10 BILL, IN AVERAGE THE CONSUMSION READING ARE 200 PLUS UNITS. BUT SUDDENLY THE METER READING WENT DOWN TO 161 UNITS; IT MAY HAPPEN IF THE METER WAS READ AT AN EARLY DATE. AND AS A RESULT THIS MOTH IT IS 327 UNITS.
    FOR THIS HUGE UNITS BILL I HAVE TO PAY THE MAXIMUM RATE PER UNIT FOR YOUR READING. IS IT A PREPLAND WAY TO SQUIZE US ? WHY SHOULD I PAY MORE FOR YOUR MECHANICAL/MANUAL FAULTS ?
    UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES I AM REQUESTING YOU TO 1) CHANGE THE METER THROUGH
    YOUR TECHNISIAN AS EARLY AS YOU CAN . 2) CONSIDER THE HUGE AMOUNT BILLL OF Rs.1710/-WHICH IS DIFFICULT TO PAY AT A TIME.
    HOPE YOU WILL LOOK AFTER THESE MATTER AND TAKE THE NECESSARY ACTION AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE FOR OVERCOMING THE CONSUMER HARRASSMENT.

      My name is Debashis Das, S/O Mrs. Maya Das. Though the CESC personnel has taken the meter reading of our meter as well as our neighbors, CESC has send each o[censored]s the current bill on an average reading and the current reading section of the bill is showing as *****. It is really very unfortunate that everybody's door was not closed, none of ours house is having any dog or so. none o[censored]s has gone to any vacation tour, and the most important is that the CESC person has came with the meter reading book and wrote down the reading. Still they send us an average bill. This will create a increase of bill amount on the coming month.

      They deliberately done so. I am strongly oppose this and seeking your strong hand on this issue. The meter is on my mother's name. Our details are as below:-

        Dear Sir,
        It is to inform you some work on PWD road, (Nilganja Road) through CESC tender is going on since last 3 days, digging 4 feet deep trenches through our locality. It is a great inconvenience for the local people and may cause accident. No provision of temporary culverts is there. Only a promise to do the culverts be-fooling the local people is nothing but a public nuisance. An early action is highly solicited.

          Dear Sir,
          I have left CESC ltd on Jan 2007. In-spite of following up several times the company is not clearing my PF account. More-over i have also paid dues on 25/05/2010 of Rs 21807 ,which was charged to me in lieu of 56 days o[censored]n-served Notice period. I have gone to their office and several times i send my representatives/relatives to Cesc House Office of CESC Ltd.But Mr. Subhobrato Mukherjee, Manager - PF Dept and Mrs Maitrayee have got me in a loop and unnecessarily harassing me. Every time they are asking for different requirements( like Photo identity proof, proof my employment in Cesc, etc). Each time i am providing with the relevant papers, again they are raising some or the issue. Now that i have done all necessary actions from my side- Cesc authorities are asking me to follow up with individual departments - (like Mains Dept, Pf Department etc).
          Please help.

            i m susila singh. my consumer no is [protected].i have complained for the excessive amount of bill for the month of august and before also.after complaining for the month of september i received a bill of Rs 600, still i m not convinced because there is very less usage of electricity in my house . i still dont understand the billing theory by using the

              I am SudIp Shome & my consumer no. is [protected].My last 4 months' billing are Dec.2010 - Rs.350/-, Jan.2010 - Rs.370/-, Feb.2010 - Rs.240/-, but in March 2010 it is Rs.740/-. I do not use any A.C. or any old fridge or any other modern gadgets which may consume more units. Then why ? Is there any hike in unit price in last month ? Please help me.

              CESC WRONG BILLING

              Dear Sir;
              I Niranjan agarwal & my consumer no. is [protected] my last 4 month billing
              Are Dec.-2009-Rs.2030/-, Jan.-2010-Rs.2380/- Feb.-2010, Rs.2510/- March-
              2010 -Rs, 3880/-, But in April it is Rs.8220 . I do not use more & more A.c.
              and dont used any Fridge, in spite of that which may consumed more units.
              Then Why.Is any hike in units price in last month. Please help me.

                Hello,

                I am a resident of Bhubaneswar. My house is located in an area called Sailashee Vihar of Chandrasekharpur. The local electricity distribution company is called CESCO. The houses in our locality have all been given supply from one phase. So during peak load hours in summer, the voltage drops to very low levels. Less than 100V is very common on summer evenings and sometimes it even goes below 50V. Even after repeated complaints and visits to CESCO office, they haven't done anything to address this problem. As a result, we are unable to use many of our household equipments. Stabilizers don't give any relief as most stabilizers don't operate at such low voltage levels. Please help.

                It has really happened to me also. in the duplex buildings in front of DAV school The voltage remains at 50 to 60 from evening till next day morning with severe fluctuations also.Within the capital city of Bhubaneswar it is a Terrible experience . No people of Electricity department is going to hear it. Amazing its capital.Probably something alternative action can solve it.

                  I am Amit Chakraborty Son of Puspa Chakraborty.My complain is our meter 20.12.2009 burnt.But this meter is out going neutral problem.But this problem is suffering 2 months continuing before 20.12.2009.I have to 1000Rs for new meter.
                  My complain is why we have to pay for new meter?This matter i have complain to the zonal office from Shyambazar.My Docket number is 211209/[protected].

                  That time ur officer told me that in case u r not to pay ur new meter amount,we r sending our technician open ur defective burnt meter then testing our workshop,whose problem in case cese fault we supply new meter free of cost,in case customar fault have to pay new meter amount.
                  I asking u our old meter ur fault u return money 1000Rs or deduction our electric bill.
                  I highly obliege to u i[censored] action for this matter as soon as posible.
                  I complain cesc by internet on 20.02.2010 But cesc no action this matter,
                  That reason i complain indian consumer complain.

                  Kindly r u action against CESC for this matter i realy helpful.

My connection is a domestic one and I have total eight points running in my house in which there are two tube lights, two celling fans, three bulbs, and one night lamp. It is clear, that if I run all the mentioned points for the whole month, then perhaps, the metered may hike to 206 unit or 132 unit, but things are not going like that. I am thus suspecting fictitious billing behind such hike in the metered unit. Please do the needful. I am looking forward for an just action from your end.

                        My mother Smt Sulekha Sen, aged 69, is holder of meter no 1441734 (customer Id: [protected]. She got Zero unit bill in month june'14 and aug'14 . I have no idea why zero unit comes frequently . That makes huge loss because i do not get any rebate and unit of subsequent month come in higher charge band that makes a huge loss . NOT only the zero bill but also a huge unit consumed in month o july '14 and near about 10, 520/- bill is received, where av bill rate is about 400/- .When I complain in CESC they gave me a rebet about 3/4 unit and send a bill of 1/4 of the amount with disconnection notice . That have no basis and i asked about the reason, but they gave me no justified reason . I think there is also some conspiracy to draw money form my pocket . U r the best to judge my case and relieve me and my mother form this type of physical loss, mental loss with financial loss .

                          Its a dismal situation to deposit my bills in the Laketown Bill deposit center. Its only opens for three days in a month before the bill deposit day comes and with the all the counter opens for general public and "the Agents who are depositing 10-50 bills at a time creating a great problem for all o[censored]s standing in a queue for a unspecified period of time.

                          CESC employees are are not coopeative about this matter at all and are more interested about the agents than general public.

                              There has always been a complaint and deficiency in service on the part of CESC when it comes to dispatching the electricity bills to it's consumers. I did not receive the bills of our estate and went to CESC, Ballygunge Office to collect copies of 6 meters which are presently installed in our estate. The staff on duty of Copy Bill Section at 2:30pm as well as the Supervisor on duty at that time gave me copies of only 2 meters. They said that they are not authorised to give more than 2 Bill copies per person. When I said that I have taken leave from office to submit the bills and that I will join the queue from back 2 moer times to collect the copies of the remaining 4 bills, they laughed and asked me to go to Victoria House to collect the remaining 4 bill copies. I had to go all the way to Esplanade to collect just 4 more copies of bills. This behavoiur is totally anti-consumer and I wish someone takes it up with them.

I have been requesting them over phone for sending me fresh form as the money that lies with my CRES account is about to be exhausted soon. There is hardly any response from them.

                                I had deposited Rs 10000 each, against my two CRES account Nos:26373 and 26383 on 12th March 2010, by cheque no: 348259 and 348260 dated 12 Mar 2010, drawn on Axis Bank, Gol Park Branch and deposited both the cheques at UCO Bank, Ballygunge Branch along with CESC Application No:J152416 and 152417 on 12 March 2010.These cheques has been cleared on 13 Mar 2010

                                I am surprised that the much publicised CRES which is supposed to relieve us from standing-in-the-queue and also helps CESC to get cheap credit / finance, does not bother to acknowledge its consumers the receipt of consumers' advance payment.

                                This credit has not been reflected on our CESC bills for March 2010.Since the CESC bill for May is due within the next 10/12 days, I am worried that although more than one month has passed since my cheques has been actually credited to your account, I have not received any communication either from you or CESC and their March 2010 bill shows very little balance, which may not cover my next bill.

                                It is under these circumstances I request you for an urgent reply acknowledging my payments made to you, after verifying your accounts - just to give my peace of mind and my rights, which CESC promises to its consumers through various advertisements.

                                    This is to bring to your notice that there has been very high billing in the month of Set'09.The gross amount is Rs 1600 inspite of the fact that there was no AC usage.My average bill is maxm Rs 1200 BUT THE MAIN PROBLEM IS THAT THE AMOUNT HAS BEEN BILLED WITHOUT ANY LAST METER READING. THIS IS TANTAMOUNT TO CHEATING & COLLECTING EXCESS AMOUNT BEFORE PUJAS.

                                      THIS IS IN REGARDS TO THE DOMESTIC ELECTRIC METER OF OURS BEARING THE CONSUMER NO. [protected], IN THE NAME OF MY UNCLE SRI MONORANJAN ROY, WHO IS AGED AND AILING AT PRESENT. HE HAS EXPRESSED HIS DESIRE TO CHANGE HIS OWNERSHIP AND TRANSFER IT IN MY DAUGHTER'S NAME Sm. SABARMATI ROY. TO THIS EFFECT, I HAD PUT IN THE ORIGINAL APPLICATION OF SRI MONORANJAN ROY, DATED 14.11.2006, WILLING TO GET HIS NAME TRANSFERRED, ALONG WITH ALL THE NECESSARY FORMS DULY FILLED UP TO OUR CESC SOUTH WEST REGIONAL OFFICE, P-18, TARATOLLA ROAD, KOLKATA-700088, WHICH WAS DOCKETED FIRST ON 23/11/06 WITH THE SERIAL NO. 030418. DUE TO SOME MYSTERIOUS REASONS, NO ACTION WAS TAKEN. I THEN MADE AN INTERNET COMPLAIN TO CESC ON 25/02/08 AND THE DOCKET NO. GIVEN WAS LT/10/12080, AFTER THAT I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM VICTORIA HOUSE ON 09/04/08, ASKING ME TO DEPOSIT THE PAPERS AGAIN. I HAD COLLECTED ANOTHER SET OF FORMS AND SUBMITTED THE SAME ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION OF MY UNCLE TO THE SAID OFFICE, WHICH WAS AGAIN DOCKETED BY THEM ON 15/03/08, WITH THE SERIAL NO. 053248. I HAD SENT MY REPRESENTATIVE SEVERAL TIMES AND WENT THERE PERSONALLY AND MET Mr. SUBIR MAZUMDAR AT COUNTER NO.13. HIS BEHAVIOR WAS NOT EXACTLY CORDIAL AND I WAS ASKED TO WAIT FOR A FEW MONTHS AS HIS VERSION WAS THAT IT TAKES SEVERAL MONTHS TO GET THE NAME CHANGED AS IT IS A COMPLICATED AFFAIR. I DECIDED TO WAIT BUT TILL TODAY NOTHING FRUITFUL HAS OCCURED.                                       Domestic — Change of ownership

                                      We have recently found out that our electric connection is registered under someone else's name.As we are NRI's we were unaware of this fault which they say occured during computerisation of records, a few months ago through outsourcing.We found this faulty consumer name only recently when we came down for our vacation.We consulted the electricity board of our locality to rectify the fault.The officials of the office have asked for lengthy procedures(electrical circuit diagram of our house, ownership certificate, land tax etc) and expenses for the change of the ownership to our name.These documents and expenses have already been submitted during the initial registration of our electricity connection(Single phase) and later during upgradation to three phase.They also claim to have none of the above said submitted documents or details of our original registration.
                                      So i kindly request you to help us with the procedures required to rectify the above mentioned error as soon as possible as we will be here only for short period of time.
                                      IT IS THE NORMAL BEHAVIOUR OF THE CESC 'S GOOD OFFICERS.

                                      I had a similar problem, in transferring the meter (Consumer No. [protected]) from the earlier owner to my name for my newly acquired flat at Bally.

                                      Phoning the Howrah Regional office nos. 26661667, 26666014, or 26669199 is of no avail, as no one ever picks up the phone, even during office hours.
                                      Sending someone to their regional office at Howrah also did not prove useful, especially for an old, retired person like me, in spite of all the bills having been cleared to date.

                                      Question : Why can't CESC computerize the whole procedure, as it has in so many other services, and work out simple procedures like downloading forms, uploading documents etc., in keeping with similar modern procedures elsewhere ? Or is it still stuck with outdated, customer-unfriendly legacies of the past ?

                                      HIKE IN ELECTRICITY BILL

                                      We are found that the main supply from CESE connection is not proper. Your main supply show 200 volt supply instead of 220 volt. Which is the cause to hike electricity bill. Please rectify it.
