Dish TV DTH Servicer — False commitment & Harassmen
I had applied for a new DTH connection to Dish TV on 12Jan10 paying Rs 1590/- online through their website. I promptly received a mail from dish tv cutomer care (CC)that my payment has been received and would receive the connection within 24 hours.I have been continuously following up with Dish TV CC centre (PH: [protected]) from 13Jan10 till today (17Jan10) - have made more than 12 calls till date. I only received a revert from them that within 2 hrs our sales executive would call and address your concern. On 16Jan10, when I got fed up with the false commitments made by them, I asked them to pls cancel my order and refund my money, instead of offering any resolution, they kept on saying within half an hour our person would call and resolve the issue.
But till date no calls have come from their side to show any sort of interest to give me a connection or resolve my problem, whereas they proclaim to provide connection within 24 hours of booking the order. Today (17Jan10), when after repeated requests, the call was handed over to the call centre supervisor, I asked to kindly cancel my order since I was not comfortable with their service. She informs me that it is not possible to cancel the order whereas nothing is mentioned on their website where I booked my order that order cannot be cancelled.
We also sent a mail to their customer care yesterday asking them to cancel the order and refund the money/ we got a reply from their side that our concern will be addressed within 24 hours. Its more than 24 hours now but still no reponse via mail or calls has been recd from the company.
I would be highly obliged if you could be pls take the matter up and help me get my money back and added compensation for following up with them and harassment caused by the company.

Dish TV — Exorbitant charges asked for installing STB got under promotion scheme at Big Bazaar
Hi,This is regarding a Dish TV promotion scheme at Big Bazaar at GIP, Noida where I have paid Rs.1000/- for a new Dish TV connection. I have been given the STB at the stop and rest equipment would have been provided at the time of installation. I wanted to get this connection installed and contacted customer care regarding this. My complaint# 33836938 was registered for installation on 6th Feb 2010. I have told them everything that I had got this connection from Big Bazaar under your promotional scheme etc. When I enquired about the charges, I was told that I need to pay just Rs. 200/- plus service charges as installation and rest as per the plan I chose. I agreed to it. Today i.e. 12th Feb 2010, when I called up the person who would be installing the set, he told me that I need to pay Rs. 1465/-.
I again called up the customer care to confirm the charges. The phone was picked by Mr. Avinash who turned out to be utterly non-cooperative and non-understanding to my case. He consulted his technical department and told me that I have to pay Rs.1465/- as these are the scheme charges… I told him that boss, I have already paid Rs.1000/- for the box, a new box comes at Rs.1700/- and you are asking me another Rupees 1400 something more making the total to Rs.2400/-, how is justified? Moreover, when I called up earlier, I was never told about these charges in spite of repeatedly asking them. In the name of promotional scheme, am I being duped to pay almost 1000 rupees more?? Without understanding what I am trying to say, he was adamant and continued his scheme charges chatter. I told him that this is not the way a company can dupe people and this needed to be reported to consumer courts. His reply was that please go ahead do it and mention his name too.
I hereby demand a refund of my money from Dish TV and take back their STB. With this sort of public duping activities they are engaged in, I would rather not be their customer. I also want an action to be taken against Mr. Avinash. These sorts of people only tarnish the image of any company they are working with.
