I have been using Idea (earstwhile Spice) no since 2007.The redressal of concerns/complaints is extremely poor .Recently ,After taking all clarifications about functioning of Blackberry ,I did activated the services on my no .Many times ,I contacted Blackberry helpline[protected] for using the internet on my lap top through Blackberry as modem .They continuously advised the settings but in vain .Finally ,the customer care mail informed that such service was not available . Even after that ,Blackberry helpline tried to support & sent me the settings .
After my hit & trial ,I was able to connect but not able to browse.On[protected],again Blackberry helpline registered ny request vide Comm Nio[protected] & same has been resolved on[protected].Surprisingly , on calling the helpline , the limited connectivity also has been withdrawan & I am told that this service is not available .

I think this is sheer harrassment to the customer & even the complete information is also not available .The Company has charged me for the services without providing the services .

Idea Cellular — GPRS not a feature of Navigator phone

On 8th Nov, 2008, I walked into one of the Idea Outlets in Hyderabad to inquire about the GPRS services provided by Idea. The agent gave all the information and suggested me to take a connection. I informed the agent that I would be using the connection only for GPRS since I already have 2 other numbers to fulfil my needs. I clearly informed the agent that I would not use the Idea connection for any other purpose. The agent showed all his cinema, that all the sales agents do and forced me to take a postpaid connection. Informed the agent clearly that I do not need a postpaid connection since my other 2 numbers are postpaid numbers already(however, the service provider is Vodafone). I clearly informed the agent that I need a prepaid number because it is pretty cheaper in prepaid than in postpaid. I gave my cell phone model, Nokia 6210 Navigator, and asked him if it is compatible with the GPRS provided by Idea. The agent did some research and after 10 got back to me and it will work. The agent promised me that he will activate the number in 10 mins and activate GPRS in 12 hrs and req. me to call customer care after 12 hrs and confirm the details. On his word, I took a prepaid connection immediately by paying Rs.400.
The next morning when I called the customer care, the cust ser. agent said that it is not at all an Idea number and the number could be either from a diff network or a diff region and hung up abruptly. I was on hold for over 5 mins and I spoke with an actual person for not even 20 secs.
The next day I contacted the agent in the Local outlet, he said it is activated and the cust care people have to activate it from their end. Called back cust care again, and this time the agent said, the number is not registered yet and will have to wait for another 24 hrs.
And, this went on for over a week. Finally on 22nd Nov, 2008, I called back customer care again. The agent said, he will send the settings to my email and req me to call *234#1# and that will activate GPRS on my number. It did not work. I called them back immediately, the next agent askeed me to call *234#304# and assured me that GPRS will be activated in 24 hrs. told the agent that the call is not even completed. He said server is down and will have to wait another 12 to 24 hrs. Tried again several time. no go.
The same crap went on and on.
On, 25th one of the said he will register a complaint on my behalf and gave me the communication ID 59890871 and promised me that it will be activated in 24 hrs. Waited for 48 hrs and then, called back again. Each time I called they me a new communication ID and new number to dial to activate the GPRS.
This went on till today, 9th of Dec 2008. I called back the customer service and they said,

NOKIA 6210 NAVIGATOR IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH GPRS AND IT DOES NOT HAVE AN OPTION FOR GPRS at all.

That seemed to be funny, and I asked for an escalation. The team leader came up said the same thing. I told him that I have been using GPRS in the same phone. He put me on hold for 5 mins and got back and said, he contacted Nokia Priority and checked online and still says the same thing.

THIS IS ONE OF THE INSTANCES WITH IDEA.

Earlier, I had Idea postpaid. I applied for 5 postpaid number at the same time and out of which only 1 number was activated in 1 month. And, the best excuse is that only 1 number can be approved in a span of 1 month.
I cancelled all the numbers but they did not return my activation charges for any of the numbers when they did not actually did not activate the numbers. I did escalate the matter to the manager, but nothing has been done. I also sent a mail to their complaint box. This happened an year ago, but things did not change till date. Rather, they are getting worse.

When this is the service they provide, no wonder they cannot sustain the market for any longer.

MY REQUEST TO ALL... NEVER GO FOR IDEA OR AIRTEL... Others are better.

i am using idea last 2years it was prepaid after that i have decided to covert it to postpaid, i was in need of blackberry feature in which it required a postpaid connection . My blackberry plan is 299 per/mt in which gprs will not work. By knowing this plan i have activated this feature on my idea number [protected] . Now i am Getting problem the billing done by IDEA Cellular LTD, idea mobile services is charging me gprs using charges . which is not possible when a customer is having a blackberry 299 per/mt plan . I have conformed again from blackberry customer care about this plan they have replied same, that on this plan gprs will not work . I am in problem i have made so many calls to idea customer care 12345 they move me forward by saying that call 198 to make complain, when i have called 198 they moved me forward to call 4666 reguarding gprs, when i have call 4666 they moved me to idea local office because they are not able to generate my bill detail . I have made my complain to idea local office, but my complain was closed by telling this charges are correct . I am Too Much Mently disturbed what To Do? please help me

      I was using Idea Life time pre-paid service. My pre-paid M.No. is [protected]. This service was not used by me mor than six months due to my personal reason. But recently when I am in need to use this sim, presently this facility is not working. I have also pre-paid balance in the same. When I go to IDEA for complainting the same, I heard that the service on this sim is terminated and same mobile number was allotted to some one. I am surprised to know the same. I want to know that How the company can terminate lif time pre-paid service without consent of the service users? Also I am not getting satisfactory answer from the IDEA. You are requested to advice me that In this case can I get the justice? Can I get my old M.No. back? Pl. advice me.

        Idea — deactivating a service

        when i dialed *123# to know my balance i saw an advertisement
        " to receive jocks dial *567*243# rs 10/ week.
        i dialed it. Now i am struggling to deactivate it . please help .
        i wanted to activate my dialer tone but i am unable to it beacuse it's customer service is relly bad always busy ...they should work on it whatever they says always YOUR CALL IS IMPORTANT TO US ...PLZ PLZ help me for deactivating my dialer tone.

        Idea — using the same number after i deactivated

        I m using idea service since 5 year
        now the KAITHAL IDEA RETAILER I, KAMAL TELECOM, PEHWA ROAD KAITHAL
        i had a postpaid connection which i had to deactivate due to poor services but the retailers had not given me any refund after submitting the bills this no. is in my fathers name [protected] and any calls made to and fro this no . was paid by me till date 13 april after that i am not using it because shop keepr /retailer has forcifully taken my sim card without my permission

        Idea — my value added service

        Sir I have activated miss call alurt service on my mobile([protected]).But it could not activate .then i complained custercare.He registerd my complain.but i still faced this problem.Then I complained three time more.Dispite of my comlain they didnot take any action.I m very worry from this service.here consumer request is not given prirotery by custmercare.
        Activated date 23/05/2010
        Bilance reduced=15 rupees for one month.

        Therefor request u please kindly take action of my complain.

        i am a idea subscriber([protected]). they have activated some value added services on connection from April without my consent. they have deducted huge amt from my balance without my knowledge. they have said that we have made a call to you for activation of services(voice guided call). but i haven't allowed such activation. pls look into this matter and put some control on them.

        Idea Cellular — Cancellation of Value Added service

        Dear sir
        I Dr Vijay Patil, am post paid subscriber of Idea Cellular ( Maharashtra Circle)
        Had accidentaly activated Valu added service "marathi Shayari- reginal language poetry" on my number [protected], I then immediately requested for cancellation of the same in month of Apr 2010. The service provider has charged me Rs90 monthly for the service.
        The service is still active and is being charged !

        After complaining to cust care, email, and through outlet several times they say that it has been deactivated, I am still recieving the funny stuff !
        There is no response for the complaint now as it shown deactivated on their system !

        Since the cancellation of the service was requested in Apr 2010 will I be able to ask for refund of the amound charged for that service. Please guide me about where should I lodge complaint.

        sir, i m saurav kumar sadhu, an adea prepaid customer having mob no [protected]. on 2nd march 2011 a value added service named "timepass service" has been automatically activated on my no and 30 rs has been deducted from my account. i have complained to customer care and i was refunded the 30rs and i have told that the service will be deactivated. but sir on 4th april 2011 again the service is renewed to my mobile number and 30 rs has been deducted. i talked to customer care but i m dissatisfied with their dealing, plz take appropriate action and get my deducted money refund with deactivation of the said value added service.

            Hi,
            Thanks for immediate response.
            However there was no any idea about the below mentioned to deactivate the card.
            I am staying abroad & while visiting India I will be utilizing the SIM. If
            below are the T & C applied by Idea I would not prefer to use your services &
            in fact would like to request to suggest services provided by Idea in such
            cases.
            Due to deactivating the card as mentioned below, there is big loss for me. I am using the card for more than 05 years & even though Idea never bothered to inform the customer for deactivating the SIM to take him timely
            action. I believe there was more than Rs. 250 balance in the acct.
            I would request Idea to revert on the above & refund my money back.
            The above reveals only money business for Idea & harassment to customer in
            one way or the other.

            Ideacellular — sim cancellation

            i have take a sim in idea office.that no is [protected].i am out of station fron 2 months.when i back chek the no is not working.i went and asked the idea office staff about my sim bolking. they says that u r number is blocked .i am asking without informing to customer how they can block my no.
            the company is not giving importence to the customer whois uing the idea sim from last 7 years.[protected]

              My mobile number is [protected]. I had activated DND on my mobile number. Already 45 days are passed and from 8th august it should be enabled on my number however still I am getting useless messages. I used to get atleast 5 to 10 messages a day and I am really fed up of this. There is no time of messages sometime I am getting messages at 6 in the morning. Due to there messages I am not able to study or rest. This is really very irritating and Idea is not following TRAI norms. I had even sent mails to there nodal officer however still there is no response. I had contacted there customer care however they are asking me to wait for one more month that I cant. I am already fed up. Please do something.

              Idea — Complaint against DND IDEA

              Dear Sir/Mam,

              I am very much disturbed by unwanted messages from TM-ISKCON / TA-ISKCON.
              Even i have registered for IDEA DND in Year 2007.
              I have forwarded a complaint against IDEA DND on 18-Sep-09, then Again one more Complaint on 04-Oct-09, but still i am receiving unwanted messages from ISKCON.

              Please provide some solution at earliest.
              Your earliest solution will be appreciated.

                I am DND registered user and getting SMS on really awkward times (12:00 AM, 4:10 AM ...) from TD-GUPSHUP. It is really disturbing. IDEA has not provided any solution yet since registering complains last month. It says already processed.

                How they get my number? Who reads these complains? How to go for legal actions.

                Any help here?

                  Dear Sir/Madam,
                  i want to inform u that i am using idea connection for more than 6 Months . In last 6 months few services(VAS) are activated on my mobile phone [protected] automatically, which even I'm not aware of and there they deduct Five rupees per day when my account balance was about Rs 60. Then I deactivated the services every time and they confirmed the same for next 3 consecutive days.

                  Due to this i suffered very heavy losses due to lack of communication.

                  When i call to customer care , executive told me that this service was activated by me, but in really it is not like that. I was totally unaware about it.executive put me on too long hold to irritate. finally he disconnect the call. I do call again,.and same thing repeated by second executive. So please take a action again this .Idea Cellular Ltd company use to deduct money from people' s account . and when asked about it ,they directly blame customer for it, stating that these are activated by ourselves, knowingly. these companies sends IVR calls to customer. some of customer are aware about it while other don't.

                  Please take appropriate actions against the company, and help me to resolve my problem. In the process, I had to suffer monetary and personal losses. Every time i make a recharge my balance reaches zero very soon due to activation of VAS services which I have not requested for.

                  Kindly help and take this matter seriously. This problem must be faced not only by one but by many.

                      Please assist with this matter. Idea is refusing to accept my calls and on my visits to the branch where all my dealings have been taking place, I get shunted out the door. I have submitted documents 5 times to this same Idea store and it continuously gets corrupted by the store staff leading to the number being placed on hold ([protected]). Last week documents were once again submitted and checked to be correct, but the number has still not been activated. I have a balance of around INR400 on that card and IDEA is offering no assistance with getting the matter resolved. Please contact me on [protected] ASAP to resolve this matter. All my dealings have been with the IDEA store in North Main rd, Koregoan Park. My biggest problem is that so many copies of my documents are in the possession of Idea that can lead to at least 4 other numbers to be added to my details without my consent. They are also refusing to return my original documents in the current situation if no resolve is reached.

My sim not working from 7th Aug 2010, So I went to Yousufguda Idea Customer care center and paid the 100/- for sim replacement with same number. I submitted my ration card Xerox as an ID Proof .They told me that your number will be activated at Sunday morning (8th Aug 2010). But Till now my Number is not activated. What is the reason for this .Please let me know the status.
                        I WAS CHANGED TO IDEA NETWORK THROUGH PORTABILITY.
                        IT WAS NOT ACTIVATED TILL YET.

                            Calls were barred even I have submitted Documents Twice since my number activated at the time when Idea launched his services in Mumbai Circle ( Year 2008 ).
                            On 07 of August 2010, my idea number [protected] was barred even for Incoming calls with any prior intimation by phone call and even sms alert.

                            Also today morning on 08 of August 2010 they discontinued service of another Idea Number [protected] with prior intimation.

                            Looking to such third class services I am very much disappointed with Idea.

                            Within 2 Years I have submitted my Documents Twice, then why they are discontinue services. Can any one help me to come out with these nonsense activities from Idea.

                            I have good faith in Aditya Birla Group Companies, but unable to understand why Idea Cellular is discontinue my service every one year interval.

                            If Idea Cellular is unable to provide uninterrupted service to their customer then its better to wind off there venture from Mumbai.

                            Also they are not replying my Email and fax number is not working.

                            Overall I rate Idea Cellular Third Class Service provider in Telecom and It is only stand for cheap rate services.

                            Idea Cellular Mumbai — Barring of number

                            SUBJECT : DISCONNECT OF MOBILE NO WITHOUT GIVING PRIOR INTIMATION.

                            I am using my Idea Mumbai no [protected] for the past Two years. On 30 Dec 2010 my no was temporary gone out of service and IVRS system told me to contact Costumer Care of the Company. When i contacted the same I was told to submit my document once again. When i inquired on which basis i told to that, i was informed due to Govt directives. When i told them to register a complaint to disconnect my number without giving prior intimation they told me that you must have got call from our customer care. But on ground reality i did not get any call or message from Idea and convey the same to them and they did not register my complaint in this matter, although i agree to submit my documents to company retailer or nearest Idea outlet.

                              I am Kunal Deb .resident of 551/chha/47, new sardari khera, alambagh, luck now -5, my idea net-setter no is [protected].
                              I had this connection from approx. a year. Meanwhile my sister who is in Noida doing her masters from their took my net setter to do her project work as their where no nmet connection in her PG. She took it in May till June but during that period the net setter did not worked properly and she had to suffer huge lose in her project work which also effected her results due to delay in submission of those projects. Meanwhile a came to idea office in luck now many times and complained about this but no effort was done from your good office to rectify this problem and during that period I got wrong bill also . For which i complained to the concerned person In your front desk in luck now head office. This all problem where during the May and June period only. Some time the officials said to reset the net setter by taking out the sim card and putting it back after ½ hr , we did all possible things to get our net setter back to work properly but all in vain . And during that time they told me to contact Noida office . My sister called them but they said this no is of luck now so we cant do anything . The luck now office will only help you. During all this harassment which was due to your good office my sister suffered lose in her exams in her internals .
                              At last all my efforts gone in vain and she came back in July handing me the net setter and I was really ashamed of myself that I was not able to help my sister.
                              I am using 3 more no. from idea 1.[protected], 2.[protected], 3.[protected]. I am satisfied with their services but what the hell happened to your net setter.
                              So I was really pissed off by your services and decided that I will not pay the bill until and unless anybody from your good office will pay full attention to my problem and will sort it out. I am also ready to finalize the payment but what about the loss which I suffered . As now your company is facing lose of some rupees you all are so concerned about that and what about my sufferings that you gave to me. I purchased the net setter of Rs 2200 + security amount of Rs 500 + I was paying all the bill regularly till that period because I was interested in using this connection but due to your INEFFECTIVE services I am not paying the bill .
                              If you want me to pay the bill then you have to also keep in mind the problems that I suffered and after that give me compensation for my loss and I will pay the bill. Otherwise as some calls have been made from your office telling me something about the legal proceedings . then I would like to tell you that I will my self call you in the court of law and fight till the last possible minute which our Indian constitution provides to a consumers .
                              Or you send some one to solve this problem or be ready for any legal action..

                                I have fullfil the required documents to open new wireless connection(3G Plan). They have completed the address verification process. But still they are not actived the connection.
                                Whenever we contact to repective center they are giving the answer like service is activing into 1/2 hour and curently server is down. I have registered the into database it still not reflecting
                                After some time they are not reciving the call
                                I have purchased IDEA NET SETTER for Rs.2000/- I can browse websites easily. but when downloading the speed is from 10 to 12 kbps. I am living at VILLUPURAM district in TAMILNADU. PLEASE INFORM TO INCREASE THE DOWNLOAD SPEED. mY E MAIL ID ; [protected]@g mail.com. thanks.

                                    They are activating this idea daily cricket pack by thier own and deduct money. I have deactivated it almost 12 times but every time they deactivate it and then again activate it after 2-3 days.
                                    It's irritating me like anything...
                                    Does anybody have customer care no. for idea prepaid?

                                      I have purchased idea SIMcard bearing number[protected] from dealerin Goregaon (West) Mumbai by giving my voter id as identity & residential proof. SIM card was activated immediately.I opted1p/sec plan and also toppedup it with Rs 200 talk value.

                                      After somedays services to these number were blocked. When enquired in store I have been asked to resubmitthe documents. I again resubmitted the documents on 16 Jun 2010todealer. According to him he has forwarded the documents toidea galleryat SwamiVivekanand marg, Goregaon West on next day.


                                      However,services to this numberwasnot resumed. I contacted idea gallery at SwamiVivekanand marg,Goregaon (W) on23rd Jun. He told me that card hasbeenpermanently blocked due to nonuses of card within a month. I explainedthat services for this card are blocked by idea even after submitting documents twice, then how can I use the card?

                                      Person at idea gallery toldthatdocuments are received in company on 22nd Junand card hasbeenpermanently blocked on 21st Jun. When enquired with dealer, hetold Ihave submitted documents in time; howevercompany does not give any acknowledgment.

                                      In this case what is myfault and why should Ibear in-convenience and loss of Rs200/-
                                      If idea does not want to serve for what company has accepted the payment and activate the card my payment must be returned back and I will go to any other operator.

                                      ButImust be adequatelycompensated.

                                        Iam residing in the topmost floor in Bharadwaj CHS Bandra (E) and the Managing Comm has installed Idea Cellular Antennae on the terrace of the Bldg Due to which not only are we exposed to harmful radiation but also it has caused cracks on the ceiling of my flat and cracks deterorating day by day.In the past my ceiling had come down with a thud when nothing was installed. The terace is not able to withstand the weight for a 35year old bldg
                                        i have been running from pillar to post to get my grievance solved but to no avail.The MC has been running the affairs of the Socy in a cavalier fashion.
                                        This is a SOS call and request you to look into the affairs as in the long run we will be severely affected due to the harmful effects of radiation
