[Resolved]  India Today Book Club — www.bookstoday.in/promos..htm does not exist

I had placed an order for 12CDS of Encyclopedia Britannica & Discover, which promised Free Reebok Tracksuit & and a holiday voucher/coupon for 3days/2nights stay with veg meals for a couple for Rs.2499/- (incl. Rs.500/-) handling charges on Jan., 17th 2009. I have received the 12CDS and Reebok Tracksuit but not the holiday voucher as mentioned. Instead the Invoice mentions that to claim the free holiday voucher gift we have to log on to www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm within 60days of the invoice date but to my surprise the said site does not exist. When the remittance was already credited to India Today Book Club, why the Holiday Voucher was not send alongwith the CD & Tracksuit. In this scenario, if you are not able to log on to the site, one is sure to loose the holiday voucher. This simply seems to be an eyewash. There are already 637 complaints against this company. Has the company ever thought how this in turn going to affect the reputation of the company? It's one kind of cheating.

You are requested to look into the matter on priority basis, otherwise the matter will be put forward to Consumer Forum, media coverage and definately it's going to affect the reputation.

Same is my experience. I really don't know why a reputed company like India Today is dragging the issue. Please advise in e-mail whether at all the free gift is available.

AS PER MY ORDER DT., 30.03.2009 I HAVE RECEIVED THE DESIRED CDs AND PAID RS.1099/- INCLUDING DELIVERY CHARGESVIDE INV. NO. ORAO90065976, DT., 11.04.2009 BUT YET NOT RECEIVED THE FREE GIFT PROMISED BY YOU. YOU ARE REQUESTED TO SEND ME THE SAME AT THE EARLILEST.

Sir, I placed the order for cds set of 16 nos.on 6th Feb.2009 against order no. oga[protected].I received the ordered cds on against Invoice no.0ra[protected] dated 9th feb.2009 for Rs.2599/-.After receiving the cds.I tried to open www.bookstoday.in for claiming free gifts.But unfortunatly site is showing that -"SORRY THIS OFFER IS CLOSED".I called so many times to[protected] and informed regarding this fault.But till today it was not responded from your side.Today also I called.Kindly look into the matter and arrange to send the designated free gifts.If you give the proper service regarding this I am the reggular customer for cds and other products.

India Today Book Club — not received my products even after more than 3 months of placing my order

hello,
I want to caution the willing buyers who are tend to buy the attractive offers from India Today BookClub .I have placed the order on 15th Feb 09 by over phone for a laptop bag, UCB watch, Reebok belt and reebok white shirt for 2799.00 (2499.00 + 300.00(for delivery by corier) ).

I have called several times, but to only to hear "Sir Kindly Wait". i got really frustrated and lost my faith on India Today. I sopke to custemer care executives Ms Priya, Mr Vishal Pathak. But they told to call me back but didn't even see my product status.

i really dout whether i will get my above products or not . Even they are not ready to cancel the order also. If they cancel ..that is also ok.

this is my second post in this regard in the consumer complaints ...

Kindly do the needful plzzzzzz

again they are misguiding for free gift
Dear Sir,
I had placed an ordered for 08 CDs vide my order No OGA[protected] dated 19 Mar 2009. Alongwith two free gifts were there, one is reebok Tshirt and one is adidas med sports bag. I have been supplied with 08 CDs, but free gifts are still not received. I had lodged a complaint on the day I received CDs. My complaint No is 47185. I spoke to people on this matter so many times but only response I got is "this will be sorted out or you will get a call from our despatch section within 48 hours or 24 hours". But that 48 hour or 24 hour has not come as yet. Hope ITBC has provided watch in there office or employee of ITBC are not bothered to response at the time given by themselves. I was having a good impression about India Today and people concern, but seems to be froud organisation. Atleast I could have received a call for any kind of inconvenience. I would like to know the reasons for delay in response and supply too.
i was advised to make the payment for rupees 2598 by a credit card for a free gift worth Rs 12000 in which air ticket and hotel charges for two people and one child for two nights and three days in any one of hotels situted in 27 places situated in india .
i have payed the amount of Rs 2598 instead of free gift 12 books have been supplied to me which i have not ordered what is this ?is it any cheating with me

I have ordered for reebok shoes and track suit which was supplied to me later on i was advised to make a payment of Rs 2598 by a credit card to get the benifits of the lucky gift coupon vouchers and a journey of two nights and three days in a three star hotel selected from 27 places in India with air tickets etc worth RS 12000 but after making the payment I received 12 books package which i have not ordered .
Is it a cheating or what it is?i m not going to understand the reputation of the company is being damaged by such type of cheap talks .
please do the needful action or arrange to the said package of free gift coupon or holiday package .

India Today Book Club — Short Delivery; No responses

To whomsoever it may concern

I am extremely unhappy about the services rendered by India Today Group….first the confirmation does not come on payment like a regular process for any online payment and is then received 20 times after 4-5 hours. The customer care numbers are never picked ..only the ivr keeps repeating . And Then on putting a complaint you take complete 12 days to respond on small query…then when the delivery is made…instead of 4 pieces you send only one watch where in the packet says it has 4 ….
however the courier packing says its 400 gms and it weighs 400 gms with one watch only...


Please mind the packet was not tampered also …HOWCOME ALLL THE GOO[censored]PS ARE HAPPENING AND SUCH DELAYED ANSWERS…

ITBC/CD, DVD — ITEM DEFECTIVE

Dear sir,

I had ordered for a set of 16CDs " SUR SAAZ TAAL" (Order No.OGA[protected] on 28/03/09 and received the item on 17.04.09 for which I made the payment for Rs. 1099.00 (+ MO commission Rs. 55.00) to Postman. Unfortunately one CD was found to be defective. I contacted ITBC through email and phone (STD & Tollfree) both. Then I was advised by Mr. Sushil Kumar through email on 20.04.09 to return the entire item for necessary replacement and assured that the order would be redispatched from your side immediately. Meanwhile I received my another item, a set of 7 DVDs of Agatha Christie vide order no. OGA[protected] dated 28.03.09 on 21.04.09 paying Rs.569.00 (+ MO commission Rs. 29.00) to Postman. Unfortunately this time also all the 7 DVDs were found to be defective. Then as per the advise of ITBC I sent back both the defective items in a single pack to the given address of India Today Book Club, B-47 Indira Enclave Neb Sarai, New Delhi 110068 by Speed Post from Kolkata Airport Speed Post Office 700052 on 27.04.09 vide consignment no. EW[protected]IN paying Postal charges Rs. 192.00. But to my surprise that parcel was sent back to me on 06.05.09 with Delhi Postman's remark 'lene se inkar' in Hindi with Delhi postal stamp dated 30.04.09. Again I contacted ITBC through email and Tollfree no. and as per advise and assurances of Mr. Jitendar Kumar Thakur ( through email) and Mr. Azeem Khan (through phone) that this time the parcel would be accepted by their warehouse I resent the freshly packed packet through Kolkata 700052 Speed Post Office vide consignment no. EW[protected]IN on 11.05.09 . But to my utmost surprise the packet was again refused to accept by ITBC, ware house on 12.05.09 with the same remark in Hindi by New Delhi Postman "lene se inkur" and Postman from Kolkata 700052 came to deliver me the same on 16.05.09. As a matter of coincidence then I was in phone line with Mr. Azeem Khan of ITBC . I informed him about the arrival of parcel back and wanted his advice. He told me not to accept the item. So I did that.


So now what is going to happen with my both the items for which already I spent Rs.2170.00 and being a Senior Citizen faced enormous harrasements ?

I also want to register a compalint against this company as I am not able to submit the freegift of holidayhome against booking of 12 books at the price of Rs.2598/-.
the said website is unable to open and register the claim of freegifts

this may be cheating bu the reputed company

like others
before approaching comsumer forum please submit me the hard copy of voucher for holiday home.
