[Resolved]  India Today Book Club — www.bookstoday.in/promos..htm does not exist

I had placed an order for 12CDS of Encyclopedia Britannica & Discover, which promised Free Reebok Tracksuit & and a holiday voucher/coupon for 3days/2nights stay with veg meals for a couple for Rs.2499/- (incl. Rs.500/-) handling charges on Jan., 17th 2009. I have received the 12CDS and Reebok Tracksuit but not the holiday voucher as mentioned. Instead the Invoice mentions that to claim the free holiday voucher gift we have to log on to www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm within 60days of the invoice date but to my surprise the said site does not exist. When the remittance was already credited to India Today Book Club, why the Holiday Voucher was not send alongwith the CD & Tracksuit. In this scenario, if you are not able to log on to the site, one is sure to loose the holiday voucher. This simply seems to be an eyewash. There are already 637 complaints against this company. Has the company ever thought how this in turn going to affect the reputation of the company? It's one kind of cheating.

You are requested to look into the matter on priority basis, otherwise the matter will be put forward to Consumer Forum, media coverage and definately it's going to affect the reputation.

I got dissapointed when I didn't find the assured gift, Reebok Watch along with Encyclopedia Britanica CDROMs I received against the order No. OGA[protected]. I request you to take necessary action to get me the promised gift as early as possible.

The above items were sent in one packet through DTDC courier vide their reference No. B 51742744 dated 11.02.2009. I had sent one e-mail to you in this regard. As instructed by you I am returning the above four items for change of size. The shoe size should be Size No.6 (However I am sending a sketch of the Reebok shoe which is being used) for ladies. The track suit should be small one which should suit to girls of the age 15-16 years. Both the set of shoe and track suit should be of different colours.
Vide Invoice No.ORA[protected] order No.OGAC[protected] DATED 20.01.2009 I have purchased 16 CDs. In the invoice you have mentioned that I have to claim the gift of Air Ticket and Holiday voucher through net. But I am unable to do the same. A copy of the invoice is also enclosed. I had booked two sets of Reebok Shoes & Track Suits. No.ORA[protected] ORDER No.OGA[protected] DATED 28.01.09 Login ID:1572308 Membership No.ITBC 09842308 and Invoice No.ORA[protected] Order No, OGA[protected] dated 27.01.09 Login ID No.1574320 Membership No.ITBC 09Since the size was not suitable as per your instructions I had returned the same which were sent in one packet through DTDC courier vide their reference No. B 51742744 dated 11.02.2009. DTDC had confirmed that the packet was delivered to you on 13.02.2009. When I enquired with your customer care centre they have informed that the stock of requested size is not available right now. I request you cancel both the orders of Rs.3198/- [each return the funds of Rs.6396/- plus Rs.400/- incurred by me for returning the same to you, along with interest at 24% from 14.02.2009 till date of settlement. An early action in this regard is highly appreciated. Let me place on record the dissatisfaction on the inordinate delay from your side to respond to the needs of the customers. I have not received any communication from your side for the emails/written request/telephonic requests. Whether you feel appropriate for an institution like India Today Book Club. The customer care department has not shown any responsibility in sorting out this issue which is also not acceptable for common man doing business with you from various parts of the country. This is a feed back for you, how efficiently your various department are functioning/co-ordinating your business. Think it over whether this shows a healthy and good projection of your goodwill and reputation in the market. Hope a favorable and responsible reply from you at the earliest failing to which I will be compelled to take appropriate legal action.

India Today Book Club — Did not get Swatch Chrono watch

As a book club member I booked for a Swatch Chrono watch and Beneton Watch for only Rs.3199/- paid through my citi bank card with the ID:[protected] before months.I did not receive the item even after months.Then I called the customer support and they promised to sent WITHIN ONE WEEK. But I received one fitness kit which I never even thought of. Then again I called the customer care and they asked me to courrier that pack back and gave a new ID 0GA[protected]. I sent that parcel back via DTDC with AW Bill no.F 04481169 and that they received in Delhi on Monday, June 22, 2009 at 1511 Hrs. But till today I did not get the items. Many a time I complained the customer care. But no use. Now they dont even attent my number from which I always call. What should I do to get the item or to get my money back?

I have not received holiday voucher as per our india today book club package. I have received twelve books but yet i m not receipt of holiday voucher as per telphonic conversation on 27th July, 09.
I had ordered four books. the books have been delivered but the gift has not been delivered.looking to all the complaints it seems that there is no one who looks ater the complaints of the customers. it very shameful on the part of India today.
i have placed an order of 4 books with india today book club which has been recd by me in the month of aug'09.along with there was an offer of free reebok classic watch which has not been recd by me.on contacting the book club they have given a site www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm, but this site is not working.I think these are the fake offers by itbc

When I am trying to open the above site, I can see that the site does not exist.
I am not sure if India Today book club has bluffed the customers.

India Today Book Club — free gift not issued

my invoice no=ORB[protected] dt 20 aug 09, order no=OGB[protected] forKodak-c-180.i did not received my holiday voucher as promised by telecaller.i even faced problem to logging problem to claim my gift.they did not sent any holidy vocher/ air ticket as promised by them.they also told that the mrp rs=8999 this the rate with 2GBmemory card, chrger, av cable&camera pouch{as mentioned on the mrp list on the camera box}, at discount price of rs=5998.we got the camera at discount price but it does not contain 2GBmemory card, charger&pouch.
if they are not providing all the accesories as mentioned on mrp list, why you are promising discount.In this way they are fooling their coustomers by tele callers of INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB.

I have been told by one of your executives on 03.08.09 at around 11.30 am that I have been offered a special offer of two return air tickets from anywhere to anywhere within India and 2 night stay and 3 days stay at a star hotel within India. Encyclopedia and reebok sunglasses — Did not receive 1 order that was booked on 22nd of June and second order does not allow to claim gifts.

Sir,

I have send a lot of e-mails to your team on [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com explaining them whats the problem but they just reply with the same script refusing to understand what content is in the mail.

I have send them the order number and the date when it was booked(22nd of June 2009) and they replied that it was dispatched but i did not receive so they will dispatch it again and i have still not received it. Can you please check the date it is more than 40 days.

The other order was placed after the 1st one and i received a duplicate reebok sun glases and when i checked the website for gifts it seemed that the invoice had less information.
So i had to call the customer service who took 18 minutes to understand what i wanted and then they guide me to a website and they then provided with a unique number which was incomplete in the invoice. And here i was informed that to claim your free gifts you ned to pay more money and send the documents to some address as a normal post and it was specifically written no registered post.
But you cannot download the form that you have top send and then you cannot visit the same website second time.
So after paying you for the product you promise a free gift and when the time comes to claim the gifts you and your customer service guide in the wrong direction and need more money, good bussines tacts.

I have send e-mails regularly to your [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com but its just a timepas for them and they are trained to reply all .

Can i know if you are really interested in giving free gifts or it's a fake promise for sales.

And also if you cannot send me my order can you please revert the charges.

Can i know if this is going to be taken care of or i have to keep on sending e-mails and posting these complaints.

I paid Indiatoday for 2 orders and i feel i have invited problems for myself.

When your telecalling executive had given details about the product & offer me a free holiday package for couple+2 childre of 3 day/2night with stay & 2 times fooding free.
