[Resolved]  Nokia — Invalid IMEI number

I had bought a samsung sgh l 700 mobile.it is working nicely but there is a big problem.i got a sms from airtel that your imei number is invalid and please change it.i m surprised because the mobile is not a chinese one.this is from samsung, a trusted brand. Please help me what to do.please

yes, the same is the case with my mobile. i bought nokia 1202 from Bangalore's JP nagar shoppers stop's official nokia dealer, 6 in last may. its IMEI no is [protected] but iam getting messages from my service provider airtel that, its IMEI no. is invalid. Then who's fault is this? Nokia's or service providers? and what can i do now? can anyone suggest me pl.

Nokia — imei number invalid

i purchased a new nokia mobile model no. 3120 on date 01/07/2005 and imei number is 356210/00/43 type RH-19 and code : 0516552 . i have a original bill with imei number. airtel custmer care send me message your mobile imei number is invallid. but i not belive this if this number is invallid then your company fault. so cleared my problem.

same is the case with me, I got the mobile from Hotspot, Nokia dealer.
Model is E71, I get messages from Airtel saying its invalid and pay to get a new IMEI number.
I got this mobile in may 2009.
Airtel says my number is invalid as per IMEI office.
Nokia says the IMEI is a valid number what is with the mobile.
What should we do?
May be we collectively complain about this.
I think someone is trying their best to make some bucks out of this new policy.

I have bought a Nokia 1600 in 2006 by an authorized dealer of Nokia. I can see my 15 digit IMEI numer in my cell but i am getting message from my service provider(airtail) that my IMEI number is invalid and my services will be bared. Why should i suffer for this invalid IMEI issue if i have bought it from recognised company like Nokia.

I purchased a nokia 2600 handset on 2005 from a reputed shop known as in kolkata.I have my 15 digit IMEI no.& after sending the msg. to 53232 I'm getting a shocking reply that my IMEI is invalid.How could it be possible? How a trusted brand like nokia can sell cellphones with invalid IMEI's?Is it a fault from nokia or from my service provider? What should I do now? I'm reluctant to spend any charge for your faults.

Hi Everyone,
I had a Fly 2080 handset and had the same problem as yours. I just visited the Fly service center and they updated my phone software by the same imei that was available on the box or reverse sticker. They told me that the network may have corrupted the imei. They wont charge anything for this and they should'nt as this is a shot to their repo. JUST VISIT YOUR SERVICE CENTER!!
