[Resolved]  Sony Bravia TV - 32s400 — Complaint No. 5114578 related to SONY BRAVIA purchased from Hypercity

I am describing the problem that I am facing now, with the SONY BRAVIA that I bought.

I bought Sony Bravia Model 32S400 from Hypercity-Malad, Mumbai on 30th April 2009. I am a loyal long term customer of Sony and have been using many Sony products like Laptop, Digital Camera and mobile phone for quite some time. I am also a loyal customer of Hypercity, Mumbai and have bought many consumer goods like washing machine, refrigerator and microwave from your shop. It was a very easy decision for me to finalize on Sony Brand when I decided to buy LCD TV and Hypecity as the shop. I was aware that I am paying premium for this decision as the price of Sony TV was expensive compared to other brands like Phillips, LG, Samsung, Videocon, etc.

Me and my family were happily enjoying the TV for all these days until 1st April 2010. On this day, when we switched on the TV, we observed colored patches appearing on the lower right part of the screen. We initially thought that the problem is related to the set-top box. However, soon we realized that this is related to TV and we immediately launched a complaint on 3rd April 2010 by using the toll free number of Sony Customer Care. My complaint number is 5114578. I had to do follow-up on 5th, 6th and 7th and finally the technician (Ramakant) visited my home on 8th April. Although, I was not at home, my family members helped him with all the necessary documents. Technician opened the TV set and took some photographs. After his inspection, he informed me on phone that this problem would not be covered in warranty. He came to a conclusion that this is physical damage and has been caused from outside. He quoted approx. Rs. 15000 as the cost for repairing
the panel. We challenged him stating that no physical damage has taken place from our side. We substantiated this by pointing his attention to the fact that the panel does not have even a single scratch from outside. Unfortunately, he was not ready to listen and mentioned that he will be sending his comments by email to me. He also took signatures on some papers from my daughter who is 13 years old.

After the technician visit, the problem has been aggravated. We are now observing patches even on the left side of the screen and we are not able to watch the TV at all. I have informed about this by calling up the service center owner on 9th April. The owner mentioned to me that he will get back to me and I am again waiting.

We have already paid Rs.39,899 for this TV. This is not even one year old now and service center people are dumping this problem on me and asking me to pay another Rs.15,000.

I want to reiterate that there is no physical damage to this TV. Any one can visit my home and inspect the TV. It does not even have a scratch from outside. This problem has occurred due to some technical fault in the TV and this needs to be fixed up as soon as possible as part of the warranty.

I am now repenting on my decision of buying this TV.

SONY BRAVIA purchased on 15 dec 2010
from sony show room i.e vasavi digital bellary karnataka, the wall mounting assosaries naot and during purchase time, they told sony customer people will come and fix the TV . after calling several times nearly 10 times i calledtill date nobody is came ...what type of service you are giving...

Maine date 04.05.2011 ko sony ka 32" lcd purchase kiya hai jisme ki company ka offer thaa ki sony lcd ke saath airtel ka hd dth free milega, kintu mujhe abhi tak dealer ne nahi diya hai. Dealer ka naam hai Lotus Eletconics, Palasia, Indore. Mujhe sheeghra airtel ka hd dth dilvaye anyatha mujhe upbhokta fouram me jaane hetu baadhya hona padega.
