i had a credit card account with standard charted bank. i had closed my account with the bank.. they had given me a settlement letter also. i was been told thats settlement letter means closure of my account with standard chartered bank. and now they have put me in defaulters list. when i ask them abt the same, they say my account is not closed and i need to make a payment. and closure letter is different and account settlement letter is different.. and they ask me for proof when was it told that settlement and closer were the same. where i was never given any proof and told that all the calls were recorded and i need not worry. who do i complain now. Please help me to get out of this problem.. i have been fooled badly by the bank.

I too suffered like this and going to file a case in the Consumer Court
I cancelled my standard chartered card, 8 years back and there is no transactions from then and facing problem still I have to pay 12, 701 rs and they put my name in CIBIL defaulters list
i fully agree with the complaint in this way they are using the cibil report in a wrong way with the people wo have no dues towards the bank.pls get united for throwing this types of banks out of the market.infact we should others discourage to deal with this type of banks
I completely agree to this. I was holding an SCB card. I had gone for settlement by paying 8, 300/- instead of 11, 000/-. Later I came to know that they had put my name in the defaulters list. When I called back they said that since I had opted for settlement that occured in a 3000/- loss to the bank and so they had done that. But when I was going for the settlement no one informed that they will be doing like this.
Now if i call up the customer service, they speak very rudely. They are saying that I need to pay back that 3000/- and then follow up with bank and CIBIL to get the name removed.
Please tell me if theres any other way as the above process will take much time.

They are unscruplous persons. They are habituated doing this. Fight tooth and nail and get your name removed from the defaulters list. Complain to RBI Ombudsman.

i agree tht i had done a big misstake by taking the hdfc cerdit card.n useing it badly.bt nw hdfc bank is haveing very rudely.they have take 28, 000rs frm my salary in this 2month wat i have earn.nothing in my hand i wnt to inprove my cerdit report.plz tell me hw can i do it...
Really Standard Chartered Bank sucks !! They have got good medium to swindle the money from customers. Same happened with me too. I applied for a car loan with HDFC but they rejected it saying that my fathers name is in CIBIL defaulters list. I discussed this issue with my father, and came to know that settlement was done about a year ago, and yet they have put his name into defaulters list. So in a nutshell customer is considered a Fool by the CIBIL members (like SCB, HDFC etc) and they are really exploiting their customers. Some action should be taken.

Also please note ::: If you are also facing such kind of issue and you want a loan, you can opt out for the banks which are not members of CIBIL (like Barclays from which I got my loan when HDFC and SCB rejected it). For full list of CIBIL members you can look out theirs site (cibil.com)
i also faced problem with standard chartered, these banks are nothing they claims to be maintaning high standard of working ... and charges are exorbitant but when comes to standard of working they are zero.. they have not appointed high level of professionals.. they dont know the working of the system... I CALLED UP CUSTOMER MANY TIMES but it was waste... although i cant explain my grivances due to personal reasons... but standard chartered is the lowest working of bank.
Another legal angle is that, whenever such policies are introduced by the government then there is an inception period during which the govt. carries the responsibility to educate the citizens. Recall that before making Smoking in public places an offence, there was large scale campaigning by the govt agencies (in New Delhi). Now, Cibil was introduced in 2007 (if I remember correctly). Now when I have applied for a loan the lenders (banks and NBFCs) are saying that I had a settlement done in 2005, hence they cannot lend me. The question is before CIBIL, there was no significant difference between Settlement Letter and No Dues Letter. The settlements done on or before the date of inception date of CIBIL should not be considered for making defaulters list. I believe we should at least unite to fight for this anomaly in the policy implementation by approaching RBI Ombudsman/ Finance Ministry.

I agree with this. I'm facing a similar kind of problem. I had applied for car loan and it got rejected due to CIBIL listing and this is the cause of having the stupid Standard Chartered credit card.
The phone banking response is so bad they speak rudely. They don't solve the issue instead they want us to do the settlement done by paying the amount only they don't suggest anything else.
If any of you have been able to resolve this problem please help me as well.

Standard charters bank Ghana is one of the dirty administration in the world as the scammers using there official information as well as documents and they don't care although the police had been informed and the minister of the financial and economical of Ghana but also they don't care I see that they are involved with the scammers MICHEAL KWAMIE
I have send to them the phone no of the scammers and add and all details as well as the receiver of my money sent through western union and money gram but no result
So I advice every bank DONOT DEAL WITH THIS BANK and I challenge any responsible in this bank if he can stop these scammers and keep the dignity clean of this bank

with above mentioned settlement refering to SCB Card A/c No [protected] I wish to inform you that after settling all dues as per your letter dated 19th march 2002, you have not closed my account with cibil. I request you to do the needful in this regard.

i am shocking to know that my name is listed in defaulter list.
please specify me which financial dues i have.
Even i am sufferring the same with Standard Chartered Bank.

A similar case as happened with me and I think the bank is wrong on its part. Basically the bank officials are not fully aware of the procedure and want to prove that they are always right.

If any person settles his account with the bank, then the bank should remove the name from default list in 15 days.
I have had a serious problem dealing with Standard Chartered Bank.
I had their credit card for 8 years from 1998 to October 2006. I cleared all my dues in October 2006, paying Rs 22019/- (for pre-closure of a loan on card, no other dues existed ) and so there was the next statement saying no dues.

I had requested for closure of account and cancellation of the card and they had agreed.

However, I started receiving calls from those guys next year (in 2007) saying I had dues.
It turned out that there were no dues at all, but they had renewed the supplementary card at a charge of Rs 600. Then they deducted Rs 600 from the closed loan account and re-opened my loan account without any information!
As a result, my loan account reopened and it added Rs 500 per month for default.
The "recovery agents" called and talked very rudely again and again and I explained to them the whole thing. But they still disagreed and told me I owed something to the bank.

The customer is helpless in such a situation, they can anyway put your name in CIBIL on false charges.

I am waiting for divine justice to show on Standard Chartered Bank.

Samething i am facing, actually i had taken a loan on credit card and 3 emis were missed and one agent came to me and he told me to 10000 and it will be settled actual amount with interest 22000, so I paid 10000 and he had sent the Settlement letter.

Here the main they are not updating the details with CIBIL that he had settled the amount, instead of that they are telling the CIBIL that so and so amount is still remaining. This causing a lot of problems. SCB people are telling that if you pay the total amount then that will be cleared at CIBIL.

Because when we apply for any loan its getting rejected.

Please let us find the Solution for this without paying the money is there any solution.

Please give an idea, we all fight together.

Standard Chartered Bank — Regarding setlement amount after 3 years

I was having Gold card of Standard Chartered Bank in 2006,and the card was surrendred and closed in 2006 ,for witch the Bank issued us confirmation letter on account of cancillation of Credit Card and settlement of amount,now after 3 years the Bank calls are coming for settlement of accounts.The letter given by Bank is not traceable due to laps of 3 years,even I am not remembering the credit card number,why the Bank not updated the settlement amount,and calling and harreshing us after 3 years when I am unable to findout the record given by Bank.
Please intract with the Bank for this unjustified act.

I had lost the SCB credit card on 17th Feb night of 2005. But unfortunately before I could realise it on 19th morning and block the card, the same was used in many places to the extent of Rs. 27000. Since it was not my transactions (and obviously forged signatures), I declined to pay up and insisted to retrieve the chargeslips for verification. SCB retrieved the same and sent it to me. The signatures on the chargeslips were not even remotely matching with mine. The guy had not even attempted forgery. He had just scribbled something and purchased the articles.

Then I refused to pay up, and went to consumers court for deficiency in service because when we buy the service (card) from the bank, they are responsible for its effective conduct. If the merchant banker did not verify the signature (which was so glaringly different from signature on the card) the bank would be responsible for negligance of the merchant (because a cardholder has no privy of contract with the merchant)

But surprisingly the consumers forum did not uphold this principle, but simply relied on the date of intimation of loss. I wanted to fight it out in the national forum but it was simply too much for a single individual like me, and the case had already dragged for more than one year (though consumers courts are supposed to be meant for speedy resolution!). The pressure, threats and misbehaviour from the bank and its agents was just insufferable and bad taste.

So when State commission dismissed my case with an advice to fight it out in Economic offences court, I decided to wind it up once for all, and struck a settlement deal with SCB. The initial disputed amount was Rs. 27K, but over a period of 15 months they had bloated it upto 50K. We settled the deal for 16K and got the full and final settlement letter, and I forgot it as a bad dream, thanks to our banking regulation system.

But recently I applied for a Homeloan with another bank. When the committment is at a very critical stage and loan sanction is very important, it has got heldup due to CIBIL defaulters list which says there is a writeoff of Rs. 62K against my name from SCB!!! To me it looks like they kept on adding interest and latepayment etc even after full and final settlement!!!

Now I am seriously planning to take it up with CIBIL, RBI, and Banking Ombudsman. Any suggessions are welcome [protected]@hotmail.com

I am also facing the same issue from Standard Chartered Bank.

For me there was a serious operation happened "Gangeroneous Gall Blader" in USA. Then I left to INDIA after 3 months I rejoined in my Chennai office that too I was not fully recovered.

Again I was suffered and travelled back to Vizag and admitted into the hospital, during that time my card was stolen in Chennai and it was swiped it for Rs 49, 800. Then immediately I dispute all the transactions with SCB, and submitted all my medical records.

Bank did not send me all the charge slips, but they are started harrasing me over the phone. And I told that as I am liable I am ready to pay whatever its required, but I need help of gettting the charge slips.

Then collection team forced me to pay for Rs 40, 000, and I paid but they did not settle because I did online transfer and no signature on settlement letter.

After that I moved to Netherlands, from there I called to SCB and asked them to close it if they want I will pay the entire full amount, and requested them like anything to not put my name in CIBIL.

As soon as I back from Netherlands, I visited to SCB bank and asked them can I pay the full amount or not. Collectiong team forced me to pay for only Rs, 11, 000 and not required to pay the rest to get there credit and they issues settlement letter. That time also I called the customer care centre and they tld me that my name will not be goign to CIBIL.

I paid around Rs 51, 000 instead of Rs 49, 800, but they put me in my name into CIBIL, and my entire career aspirations are gone. I am 100% genuine with all the bank, and I paid USD3000 for my medical bills even I left from the US.

Now, I am not able to digest. I asked the bank, and bank replied me stating that they will issues NOC certificate, and they will send the same to CIBIL, then will remove my name.

Still, I am fine whatever the money its required I am ready to pay for it. Now, I can't live if this is what. I was not able to live, if any one suspects for the mistake what I have not done it. Already half of my health was gone because of my health and harrasment from the bank. I never hide my face contact details from the bank as well.

Sincerely requesting some one to drag me or bank to the court to resolve this case asap.

standardchartered — remove my name from cibil

i have a creditcard standard chartered NO:[protected] in 1998. in 2003 i settled the amount by settlement icici bank cheques .there is no phone calls and follow up till last week. but i received a call from mumbai that rs 14000 due and my name in cibil.i clarified the details.they told that no details reflect in my a/c.pl settle rs 22000 then we will clear ur name from cibil.
seven years after they called me and forcing for payment.

once settled how can i again pay the money.
I am terribly brainwashed with the articles posted out here. Now I am in big dilemma!!! Actually 2years back I have taken a loan-on-card for Rs.4Lac from Citibank. Since then I have been paying my EMI's punctually witjout hassles. But from last 5 months I am defaultered. Till date I have already paid Rs.2.5Lac.

And now we have fixed-up a settlement for Rs.1.6Lac. I was about to accept the settlement letter and clear this amount. But after realizing your sufferings, I can't decide whatt to do further. I am feeling helpless and looted. I am supposed to lend the cheque by 13th-Sep-2010(Monday). Its almost near.

Please help me make a decision. Your advice will be highly appreciated. Its emergence.

HDFC Bank — Full Payments done but they add my Name on CIBIL

Hi,

i am the reqular customer of HDFC BANK and i have take a lon from bank and due to some problem i have pay my emi's late but i have done my all my payments with late fee but bank add my name on CIBIL.
I would say this is true with all the banks!! Even I held a SCB card which I got cancelled. The customer care informed that there is no balance and the card will be deactivated. After a year, I got a call from their recovery agents for some Rs. 33000!!!. I never received any bill for my card, which normally happens when there is no outstanding. So I had to work with the recovery agents to get my bills for the year. On analysis, I found out that there was an outstanding of Rs.8 and I don't know how the customer care exec missed it. This blew out to Rs.33000 over one year because of late payment and interests.
I got all that reversed and paid the outstanding of Rs.7/- (YES - SCB OR FOR THAT MATTER ANY BANK WANTS EVERY PENNY BACK !!). This time I got everythng in writing and got a written confirmation that i dont feature in any defaulters list. This was a year back.

Now when I applied for home loan, I came to know that SCB has declared my status as "WRITTEN OFF" for outstanding of Rs.7 !!! This had bought down my credit score. Since I had all the records in writing, after continuous follow ups with SCB after two months, they have agreed to mask my incorrect cibil status. Unfortunately, i dont know if they have done it as I need to wait for 45 days before I fetch my CIBIL again and check. Also note that CIBIL only updates its record as per the bank's instructions. So the only way customer can get his CIBIL cleared is through the Bank which has reported it.

PIECE OF ADVICE:
1. Calling customer care to resolve such issues is a big risk. Call may or may not get recorded, but you will definitely not have any proof. Customer care exec can take you for a ride, just so that you disconnect.
2. Always resolve these issues over emails. Though this is a painful process and takes more time, you will have everything in writing. Customer care exec also tread carefully here. Bottom line: GET EVERYTHING ON PAPER.
3. Banks are there only to make money, they will go to any extent to get money, they wont even stop at mentally harassing the customers. So be very careful when you go on credit.
I always faced problems with standard charted bank. Unfortunately i opened my NRE account with the bank when i was in dubai because my salary transfering to local bank of standard charted. All of our friends including me faced several problems related cridit cards, charges for even asking our own bank statement etc. There was no peace to bank with this kind of cheaters. We termed this bank as standard cheaters. Recently I faced new problem with this cheated bank and i mailed them. Please go thought the below mail.

Please forward this mail to concern manager and revert back to me within 3 days’ time. I have already given authorization to my wife to deal with all my SCB bank transactions. At present she is in India. If you could tell me how to close my account, she will come to the bank and will close my account immediately. I cannot take tensions on regular basis from your bank. I don’t want to hold any more discussions with the bank. Just inform me whether bank agrees to minimum quarterly maintenance of 25, 000 Rs/- for my account or to cancel my account.

With reference to the above subject and attached mail which I have sent last week, I feel deeply offended by standard charted bank by changing the policies which are not genuine not amicable. Without prior information I am charged with 1654.5 Rs/- towards the program maintenance charges. After enquiring with my customer relationship manager, I came to know the reason for cutting the charges is, NRE account holders should have minimum balance of 500, 000 Rs/- as a fixed deposit or in any other formats with the bank otherwise bank will keep on debiting the amount without notice. When I was opening the account 7 years back, I was told by the relationship manager in Dubai that only 25, 000 Indian rupees should be maintained every quarterly of the year and this policy will never change. Other banks like CitiBank, HDFC etc. are not even charging 25, 000 Rs and some bank quarterly deposits should be maximum of 10, 000 Rs/-. If the bank is changing the policies on regular basis, I have to lookout for other banks. I cannot take tensions on regular basis from your bank.My customer relationship manager in Hyderabad, told me that the bank has agreed to refund the program maintenance charges of 1654.5 Rs/- which was debited from my account. Please be informed that I can maintain a quarterly balance of 25, 000 Rs/- per month only. As I am not availing any benefits from SCB bank, I don’t see any reason for forcing me to keep extraordinary deposits in the bank. If SCB is stringent in their policies, I have to cancel my account on an urgent basis. I request you to tell me the formalities required to cancel the account with Standard Chartered Bank. I presume that at least bank will not create problems in closing my account.

Standard Chartered Bank — False blaim of having Credit card and recovery for the same

I and my husband both neither have any account,credit cards nor deal any kind of business with Standard Chartered Bank.But one day, all of sudden, one person knock on the door and said that he is from Standard Chartered Bank and my husband(Sumeet Barua) has some dues to pay to the bank.I got a shock and told him that none o[censored]s have any business with this bank.After having long troublesome discussion,he confirmed my husband 's cell phone number,date of birth and even the complete name and none of them matched with the details of the person he wanted to talk with.After some days, the very same person, again troubled us by arriving at the door and saying that this is the address of the person who has to pay the dues.Again after so much of annoying discussion,he said that the person is not picking up the cell phone and he got the address from that person documents that he submitted to the bank.We provided him so much proofs by giving correct name,cell phone no and even date of birth and asked him to bring any other proof if he have of that person who claims to be my husband by providing our address on his name.
I have this very serious complaint about the same bank and i want compensation for annoying us so much even when we dont have any kind of communication/business with this bank.Why this bank provides loans/credit cards to people when it doesnot verifies about one's identity and troubles working people like us?Please provide us any suggestion how to deal with this situation.I am thinking to file a complaint against them in police station too.

Standard Chartered Bank — Personal loan not process on time

standard chartered given me 100% assurence that my money will be creadited by 21/10/2011. But after 4 days time from actual time also loan was not process. I was require this money very urgently for some personal resones. Loan processing representative mane is Geetmala. I like to complane aganist standard chartered bank regarding the same and asked for Rs 200000 rupees as damarage.

Standard Chartered Bank is the worst Bank operating in India. They think they are an international Bank and can easily fool Indians in the same manner as dome by East India Compnay 200 years ago. No PSU Banks handles their their customers with kind contempt as done by standard charterd Bank. This Bank find new ways to cheat Indians of their hard earned money and siphon it off to their foreign country.

I think all Indians should boycott this lousy Bank in all personal and business transactions. Only then this Bank will learn the lesson and behave in honest manner in India. people should refuse accepting Standrd chartered Bank cards, chequess, and other instruments. Indian Business houses should refuse all BGs, letter of credits and payments to / from Standard Chartered Bank.

Standard Chartered Bank — Harrased by bank as they have involved me in cibil forcely without informing anything related to payments

I have been harassed by standard charted. Bank,they have not inform me about any due payments of my credit card from 2003 ..now they have send me a letter of Rs 22000/- over due..and my outstanding is of rs 200 as they r showing,they have not inform me anything..and at the time when they were issuing me the gold card ,they told me that there are no charges apply with this card ,because of there fault i am in a CIBIL CASE and my home loan is been delayed..i want delails of my card number

Dear sir,
i had standard charted bank credit card in 2006 which i never used in my life and i called them straightway to disconnect this card and i have been told that safely destroy that card. because i never used that card it has no transaction history in bank system and i never revived any sort o[censored]pdate or query from the bank regards to any bank charges or payment,no latter or mail from the bank.
after 6 years CIBILL notify me that it has out standing amount of Rs.39,799.00 which i have to pay to clear my credit history.
i went to standard charted bank to solve this issue. i been told to send an email to clearance department and it will be sort
it out with 7 working days.i sent them mail and call them about that issue. i received mail stated that i will be contact by them within 7 working days and around 10 days i haven't received any call regards to that issue! i call them again and sent them mail and i received the same automatic generated mail that they will call me on my cell no.it took more than 1 month to solve it and the told me that it was mistake by the bank.
now its almost 1 month and i ask them about NOC and the not giving me the certificate and not sending any updated information to CIBILL to update in their system. i am 55 years old and not really familiar with this web and email world and i don't have the net connection and they still not providing me the proper answer and any callback and when i call them they ask me to sent email to same ID and i am reciving the same automatic generated answer. other bank stop my bank loan process and they asking for NOC and standard charted bank not providing me the NOC for wrongly charged account

Dear all,

Standard chartered bank is run by bunch of robbers and thieves. They have no ethics, they will fool you and loot you like there is no tomorrow, and CIBIL is the major weapon they are facilitated with. I have faced the same situation and paid 66, 000 for a real usage of 15, 000. Still they are reporting outstanding in CIBIL, Though they issued me No DUE Certificate. I am fighting with them to get the things in order. But I advice to all NEVER EVER USE ANY SERVICE OF STANDARD CHARTERED BANK. As it is the worst bank in the mkt and should be thrown out of India.
with above mentioned settlement refering to SCB Card A/c No [protected] I wish to inform you that after settling all dues as per your letter dated 23rd may 2003, the balance was 18000/- i have settled it for 16000/- and paid on 19th & 29th of may 2003 by me in two instalments. you have not closed my account with cibil and your people are regularly harassing me by calling. I request you to do the needful in this regard and pls remove my name from cibil.

    I am being persistently harassed by people who refuse to give their names and claim to be representing the Standard Chartered Bank. The calls come from [protected].

    They say that Pratul Chakrobarty has taken a lot of bank money and they are unable to trace him and hence calling me.

    I have explained many a time that though I was married to the said man at one point of time but I have had a divorce last year and have nothing to do with him. I have no clue about his wherabouts.

    Inspite of this these abusive calls do not stop.

    Please help me.

    I am not even aware of what nature the debts are and have nothing to do with that man. Then why should I have to go through this kind of torture?

    Sir,

    I the undersigned, Jitendra B. Joshi residing at the address mentioned above am being harassed by the Recovery Agents of your Bank for the details of a person named, Mr. Hemal Mehta whom I am unaware of.


    The first time I received a call on my residence land line number from your Bank’s recovery agents in the year 2005 and they used to ask for the whereabouts of a Mr. Hemal Mehta. I informed them that I do not know any such Hemal Mehta. But their calls kept coming and they used to talk in arrogant language to me and even to my family members.
    Later during one such conversation I explained to the officer who had called that I don’t know any such persons and the calls stopped thereafter.

    Now, since the last month the calls have started again and in spite of telling the callers that I have not taken any loan from your Bank or don’t own a Credit Card and also that I have never known any Mr. Hemal Mehta, BUT the calls keep coming.

    This situation is causing me and my family undue mental harassment. I would like to know the following details from you:

    1. How can you call someone who has never taken a loan from your Bank and harass him for details of a person whom he doesn’t know.
    2. Have you got any proof that my residence at the address mentioned above is mortgaged with you.
    3. Why in spite of telling your Recovery Agents that I am not aware of any Mr. Hemal Mehta why they still keep calling.

    I expect a written reply from you why I am being mentally tortured with these calls. If I don’t have a written apology from you within 10 days and if the calls come to my residence in future I will be forced to take Police action and also will be forced to file a lawsuit against your esteemed company for such mental harassment. Copies of this letter are forwarded to the necessary authorities for their information and action.

      I have used the Standard chartered credit card 4 and half years back and i used to pay the bills every month without fail. One day i need some money for urgent medical expenses, and i took the money from SCB ATM, and the very next day i paid all the amount which i was withdraw from ATM. Then i paid partailly the outstnading amount . After that unfortunately i m jobless, and i didn't pay the balance 8, 000 rupees. After 4 years i got a Notice from SCB, saying that 90, 000 INR i have to pay. I'm ready to settle the amount which was outstanding. But SCB was not accepted. Please give me the suggessions, if anyone know very well about to Close the Credit card.

      The very important thing here is the card has been expired march 2006, and i never used the card after Sep 2005.

        I received the Credit card statement 8 -9 days prior to due date. Stan Chart says they send statements 22 days prior.
        Anyway I deposited the cheque on 6th of the Month, 3 days prior to the due date.
        Next month I receive the statement stating there is a delayed payment. Why should I be held guilty for their Ineptitude?
        When I call their Customer Care - It's actually 'Harassment Center'
        the CSE - Athya Patel, insists that I am at fault. The attitude was ' I know the absolute truth' What you say is totally false and irrelevant.' When I asked her to give the name of Ombudsman, she needed half an hour to get it. Connecting to the Manager also requires 30 mins. She also stated that charges cannot be reversed, as they already have done quite few times previously. I asked her to give me details, she says she does not have the details. She then passed me on to the escalation manager Ms Savitri, who almost immediately informed me that charges are being reversed. But this lady also did not know the name of the Ombudsman of the Bank. She asked for 5 mins, I called back in 20 mins, still the name was not available. So much for their stated mission of Improving Customer Care and Minimum
        Customer Satisfaction guarantee.

        WE SHOULD ALL SIGN AN APPEAL TO THE RBI TO CANCEL THE LICENSE OF THE BANK. ANY BANK WHICH FAILS TO PROVIDE SATISFACTORY SERVICE SHOULD BE PENALISED A PERCENTAGE OF THEIR CAPITAL EVERYTIME NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS REACH 100. THIS WILL ERODE THEIR CAPITAL AND OVER A PERIOD OF TIME BE FORCED TO CEASE OPERATION BY ITS OWN WORKINGS.

        LET JOIN HANDS. THE BANKS ARBITARILY CHARGE EXORBITANT FEES, WE TOO SHOULD HAVE THE SAME RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES

        I am facing exactly the same issue. They have levied late charges on my card although I had dropped the cheque in their drop-box 3 days prior to the due date. On calling customer care, they rudely say that I will have to pay those charges.
        Well done...i think you have done the right thing of asking for ombudsman...they have someone called a nodal officer, mail id for that should be there on their website... may help you in the future

          I was a customer of the SCB Credit Card since it entered its business in India. I am very particular as far as payments are concerned. As a result I was offered a Master Card however even after repeated request I was not given the PIN No for the same hence I have not paid the Charges for the same, then Interest on the same was charged, further burden of interest was also charged although I have vide telephonic conversation confirmed the amt of payment & have paid the same with the covering letter & obtained an acknowledgement from SCB. Even then I was harassed.My name has also been put in the Defaulter List. I being a part of the most respectable Profession request yourgoodselves to look into the matter and take necessary action.

          SCB — not updated my address since last five months

          i have called customer care many times but no reply from customer care about the change of address kindly call me on my number and updated my number asap.
          I have similer experience with SCB, Is there any way to take action against the bank for harassing customers like this? They are including names in the defaulters list for Rs 300 also.
          HI,

          I was a Credit card customer of SCB, when i had a credit card i was used Rs 5000/- as taken the credit from them. then i paid every month for my maximum out put then after six months i got shifted my residence and also i have placed the request to SCb that change of My residence but they are not updated but i was kept requestd the same. but they dont do. then after 2 months the card was expired and after 1 year they have called me and asked me to settle Rs 17500/- against my balance of Rs 3500/- but i agreed to pay Rs 9500/- cash and settled the same day. and they have agreed and given the settlement letter also. now what is the problem is where as i have applied the PL in HDFC recently but they have rejected my request for Civil clearance issue Rs 8000 plus showing in my account is non clearance.           I was a Credit card customer of SCB since 2001 and I have never failed in my payments, I also paid once the life time charge of 750 long time back in[protected]. In June 2008 I took a loan of Rs 20000 for six months against an EMI of Rs 3500 approx in which I have paid 17500 in the first five months and in between for once the statement didnt reach me on time and I paid 7000 in the next month and due to their erroneous billing system I informed them to correct the billing contents to close my Loan on time i.e November or December 2008.
          I was very fond of the service of this bank but this hurt me very much when they didnt take care of the bill but was continuously calling me for minimum payment and ultimately they updated my name in CIVIL without any kind of communication to me and my Question is if I am taking a loan of 20k and paying of 17.5 k on time is there any logic to play with the last instalment and this was the first credit card of mine and over last 10 years I have helped the bank to generate decent amount of revenue with out any trouble . I need justice and compensation for the same .

            I have a a/c in standard chartered bank which no is [protected]. On behalf of this saving a/c bank is giving me a visa gold card which no is [protected]. The card was in regular use for a long time and all the purchases made were being paid off in time. But suddenly from July 2006, the bank started to charge some auto debit amount from my a/c. Against of this auto debit bank has started to charge interest and service tax also. On contacting to the customer care, they told me this amount to be debit against the fueling charges.
            For your information the total amount which ware I spent for re-fueling hardly Rs 7, 800.00 but bank was charges till today Rs 12, 000.00 against these transaction and every month they were auto debit Rs 550.00 from my a/c+interest charges + service tax. When I register a complaint against this amount your customer care was refuse. I also want a statement of this particular amount but almost three month over they didn't provide me the statement.
            I view of above, you are requested to please take up the matter with above bank and arrange to reverse all the unjustified and unsubstantiated amount charges from the a/c.

            I have been visiting BANK for 2-3 times to check my credit card statement. But, the Ahmedabad bank staff has denied to provide the same. I have not received my Card statement for last 1.5 months and the attitude by the bank staff is absolutely misleading.

            I have been charged the processing fees during the first month of credit card, this is when my card was purchased at the conditions of NO PROCESSING FEES. I have paid the fees in order to aovide dispute but the processing fees needs to be refunded.

            I will require an appropriate answer else I would go for Consumer forum.

              I am using Standard Chartted bank credit card for few years now. I have to pay some amount to the bank as a setelment amount. I have paid Rs.10, 000 to the bank but i recived a call from the bank (Mr.Bansal from[protected] talking to me in a non-proper manner asking me to pay the full amount again (I have given Rs.10, 000 already). I have only one thing to say to the bank officals that "Please stop calling to me & first bring the letter of remaining setelment amount, then i will be able to pay the remainning amount." The bank officals are just calling & no letter had been provided to me till date. I am really not satisfied with the working & customer handleing of the bank.

              Standard Chartered Bank — Not providing the final settlement letter

              I am really frusteted with the very poor services of Standard chartted bank, coz i am asking for last two months to please bring the letter of setelment to me & take the setelment amount as soon as possible. Nither the bank is providing any type of setelment letter nor the bank is activating my credit card. They just keep on calling me & emberising me many a times. I have already paid some amount to the bank(Rs.10, 000). So please provide me the setelment amount letter & stop the increasing the amount every month coz this matter is still awating for the simple reason as the bank is not providing the setelment letter.

                Complaint against the credit card department of Standard Chartered Bank

                Hi,

                I have a strong complaint against the credit card department of Standard Chareterd Bank. And I am really unsatisfied with the way they are handling my Credit Card A/c. I made all the payments what I received in e-statement and in SMS sent by Standard Chareterd within time. I talked with Snehankar (customer care executive) on 16-May-08 and he was saying that I made the partial payment, and he is not ready to understand...

                I have SCB credit card No.[protected].I had make all payments after discussion with Collection deptt. SCB, ITO Office which are pending at .This is really harassment to the customer by sending payment reminder mails and calls after making payments cleared.

                I discussed matter with SCB Collection Executive Mr.Murari[protected] regarding my issue, he checked and told me that your account is nil and you need not worry to pay any amount.

                When I have complainted to your customer care team 3-4 times regarding the same problem.Everytimes they said, "Sorry for inconvenience, we are able to give you update for the same.your complaint has already forwarded to concerned team, they are working on it".

                In my last call to customer care, They said we will give you a ring after taking updates from the team.

                Pls tell me why this customer care is for???
                They suppose to help help or to harass the customer ...???

                When I have mentioned Executive name.Why they are not discussed the matter with him????

                This is really to much, when after clearing all the account, calls and mails are received then what are the solution provided by SCB to the cusotmer.


                Pls take this issue to consumer court for the same, Otherwise these banks will really make money by levied fianace charges and late fees to people.

                Please send a mail to the nodal officer, he/she is the head of customer service. Nodal officer is the authority you need to take this up with, they would do their investigation and come back to you.

                You need to send a mail (bank's website has the mail address of this person). Give them time to respond, make sure you write all your complaints or issues.

                Mention the entire history and get everything in writing. Also if you have called someone from the bank please have the phone bill ready to prove that you have made a call to them. If you receive a call make sure you note the number so that you can call little later or quote in the correspondence.

                If you are not satisfied and get appropriate reply, you can take this up with RBI redressal forum called banking ombudsman. they have their office in your city you can search for the details on the net.

                At no point agree anything over phone, insist on a written communication. If you want to use other modes than emails, like fax or letter make sure you get fax confirmation or proof of delivery by sending it via courier. Once you take this step, bank will listen to you or reach out to you.

                If you still fail, ask them to give you the head of cards email id for you to take it up with him/her.

                Myself vidya, My husband was working with standard chartered bank 6 months back, His Name is Kunal Anil Gangurde, then he left the job. After that one day he recieved the call from STC bank stating that they got one cheque of Rs. 5000 i.e Salary Cheque, So please come & collect your cheque when he visited to the bank the account number which was entered in the cheque was wrongly debited to some other account i.e Mr. Yadav, till date i m continous calling Ms. Advina & Ms. Bahrti from H R Dept. Goregaon Branch, Contact No. on which i called every time is 66156152/154.They are not responding me properly Everytime they give me some excuses but nevere revert back to me.                   My name is Naveen H, I am from Bangalore. I had a Credit Card from Standard Chartered Bank in the year[protected]. As all of you know that SCB provides Insta Buys in its Card, I had bought a Cell phone and I was also making installment payments in that regard along with my Credit Card payments.
                  Everytime I used to make payments thro' cheque I had to call up Customer care that X amount is towards to Credit Card and Y amount is for Insta Buys, since there was no separate payment for Insta Buys.

                  Later after 7 months I started getting calls that I have not made payments to Insta Buys account at all. I tried to convince and tell them that I had made the payment but they were reluctant to oblige, so I stopped making payments to SCB account.

                  After an year or so in 2005 Jan, they celled up and said we are ready to "Settle The Account" if you can make a payment of 16948/- and I made the payment, they issues a Letter stating as Settlement of Account and the SCB dues are Zero.

                  By Jan 2005, the moment they have given a Settlement option they have also put my Name into Defaulters List without intimation.
                  I got to know this only when I applied for a Personal with HDFC Bank and they were kind enough to reveal this matter of saying my name existed in CIBIL or Satyam Negative List with the Card No. The loan didn't get through.
                  Later I approached SCB and started speaking to one person who was Team Lead or Supervisor in this regard, after 6 months of talking he said if my name is to be removed I had to make a payment of 6128/- and also sent me a Email in this regard.
                  So in Feb'2008 I made the payment and they sent me a Letter which says that my name no longer exists in Defaulters List.
                  But today when I have again applied for Personal Loan which I wanted in 2007, my name is still reflecting in Negative List and they have not kept their promise.
                  I have made around 10-15 calls and the person whom I was interacting is not there.
                  I have been upset a lot because of this. Please take serious action against these people.

                  I was among the defaulter list of SCB Credit Card . They have treated me unlawfully . I have taken help of Banking Ombusdman, Ahmedabad on 24/09/2007. and submitted all relevant documents . I received a regret letter from SCB ( ref NO RBI/10/07/59/ILA dt 27/11/2007. stating reversal of disputed outstanding as well as removal of my name from Defaulter's list.

                  I am not able to avail any credit card or credit facilities from other banks as my name was amonng the defaulter's list.

                  Please help me out what to do next in this matter

                  I had a SCB credit card from December 2007 which free life time credit card. I have not used this card a single time but they have charged a R.S 250 after the next bill cycle. Though SCB not communicated to me by any communication media like(E-mail, postal, even by a single phone call). The amount got incremented to R.S 3000 and for this they enterd my name to the Defaulder list (CIBIL or Satyam) with any prior notice or information which is tossing up my creditability since 2008 auguest even though there was no communication from bank. When i applied for the personnal loan from HDFC bank the bank is kind enough they informed me about the CIBIL of Satyam.

                  I have called the bank on 7th of November 2008 regarding this issue and on the same day they told it is a fault from the bank side and they will reveresed back the charges. After a no of calls to the bank around 50 times they have reveresed back the charges and they told they will remove the name from (CIBIL or Satyam).

                  After all got the confirmation via email from SCB saying your card having nil outstanding and your name will be delete from the SATYAM of CIBIL. After that also i called several times whether they have deleted my name or not and even they cofirmed it has been deleted on 3rd december 2008. But still they have not deleted yet. This is really frustrating making the relationship with Standard Charted Bank. If Bank will not take care these issue i am sure after some days SCB will here the same problem from every customer
                  It has been a practice for SCB to levy unlawful charges and make the acount irregular if the same are not paid. I am also a victim of such arbitrary and unilateral decision of SCB. My name has been put on the CIBIL as a result of which I am unable to avail loan from any bank. We need to put up cases against such bank which does business by adopting these types of tactful unlawful means.

                  My Standard Chartered card was misused to the tune of Rs 60, 000 and despite providing all proofs of my innocence, I was harassed by the company. There was no mobile alert, nothing whatsoever to tell me of the abnormal transactions on my card. Like so many banks, SC is more than willing to give you the card, but offer no protection against its misuse.

                  I have a Citibank credit card which I have been using for so many years without any defaults. I am the last person on this planet to keep a credit history. The bank treated me like a petty criminal, and paid no heed to any of my woes.

                  After going through this thread, I realize that even if I try to clear my name the chances of that happening are very bleak.

                    i am just started doing online trading by above mention broker, i bought share scripe on 7/05/2008 its still 16/05/2005 its not come in my demat account . When i bought the share price was 738/- next day it was gone up to 750/- if i had a share i would had been sold of on the next day but due to unsettlmet and its not come to my accout i couldnt able to sale that and as of now the share price got down and its not come to demat a/c . my broker is saying its NSE has not settle yet with the seller of your scripe due to shortage of share because of that you didnt received the share yet but if the settlment done you will get the share at same price at rs738/- its means only i suffer withou any falult please do the needfull and guide me what to do

He kept on making me dance by just telling me he will do it from last 2 years. Having a blind faith on the company I never thought about any cheating with a customer. Finally seeing his delay of more than 2 years I told him to sell one of the script out of two on 2nd Dec. He confirmed wtih me about the rate at which he traded and sold the script and asked me to wait for three days for the cheque. Again days were passing and his various reasons were in their for not giving me a cheque. Finally after continous follow up for 20 days he said he has deposited cheque in bank account.. The cheque was deposited but cheque no 285895 bounced on 23rd dec due to reason insufficient fund which was a big shock for me to know A CHEQUE OF STCI has bounced.
                    After making a inquiry with my broker he said the cheque did not belong of STCI but he issued a cheque from his personal account and deposited in my account. I really feel cheated after so many years of trading with the company.
                    My broker from last 2 years has not transfered shares in my account and kept giving me a various reasons for not been able to do it.
                    Secondly after selling one of the script on 2nd dec 09 he again cheated me by delaying to give cheque and he deposited cheque from his personal account which was bounced due toinsufficient fund.
                    Now when the cheque bounced and I Inquired he informs me that the share was never purchased where from last 2 years he was giving me various reasons for not transfering the shares in my a/c,
                    And If not purchased then why he has deposited cheque in my a/c on 21st dec 09.

                      Hi,
                      Standard Chartered bank has been harassing me for over two weeks sending collection agents to my house, threatening my old parents and calling me over the phone to pay some old dues which are not pending from my side at all.
                      I have surrendered their card over two years ago and had no dues pending when I did so. Now suddenly they have woken up after more than 2 years and have started harassing me for payments which are not due from me at all. I am a respectable citizen of India and have cards with HDFC and ICICI and loans also running with HDFC. I have no bad track record in the past and now this bank is trying to unnecessarily harass me and spoil my reputation in the market. Pls help me out.

                        On[protected], I had made full and final payment of my accounts of credit card with Standard Chartered Bank here in New Delhi's Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg office of theirs.

                        My accounts are [protected] & [protected].

                        I have and had written letter after letter to them expressing the facts that late charges, interest are purposeful and illegal ways of harassments. I have cancelled all my credit cards and sumbitted the broken pieces in their office.They are still sending receovery agents at my place of office and threatening call on my mobile for recovery.

                        Mr. Siffat Khan and Mr. Gaurav had been to my office to verify facts from the banks side and I had shown them that there exisit no money of Standard Chartered Bank which I am enjoying credit on.

                        In fact these people have practised several mal practices which I now feel that would like to expose through you all.

                        Here is my suggestion, create a back up of all your payment. Ask them for the effort made to collect money from you, also make sure you give them an appointment to come and meet you. If they send goondas then please call up police so that they deal with the goondas.

                        Also if possible record all the calls in your mobile or at home, else ask them to send letter communication only to you. I suggest you initiate a letter asking them to stop sending goondas and deal with you through letters.

                        Gather facts and put the bank on the backfoot before you charge or take it up with consumer forum or banking ombudsman. If you really want to fight the battle and if its true then you need to have a lot of motivation and will to fight these cases and win. Because Truth takes a long time to come out and be proven.

                          During the last more than a year whenever i've paid cash into my Standard Chartered Bank credit card account, SCB has been charging me Rs.99/= in their card statement to me as "FEE FOR CASH PAYMENT AT BRANCH".

                          Whenever i've spoken to them about this, their customer service rep over phone took umbrage that this was SCB's policy and practice. I've credit cards of other banks also but none of them charge me this way when i do pay cash into the respective card account. Knowledgable sources have told me that this is a fraudulent / unethical business practice which needs to be countered. It's been a mental agony for me having to put up with this money-fleecing idea of Standard Chartered Bank so blatantly. Is such a practice authorized by the Reserve Bank of India? The question is, why should SCB be bothered about how i pay ? I do pay by cheque also. But whether i pay by cash or cheque, I AM PAYING. On time. In fact, (a) most of the time i have paid cash on the last day of the due date, because of my busy travelling schedules. And (b) they have even levied hefty "Late Charges" inspite of me paying on time by cash apart from the Rs.99/= and reversed the entry, a bit reluctantly, on my phone call to them.

                          Banks should be happy with people who take the efforts to pay on time unlike the ones who deliberately default and then try and come to a one-time settlement!!

                          Can you please clarify on this matter asap. I strongly feel Standard Chartered Bank needs to be taken to task for what i feel is an unethical business practice. A fraudulent tactic of making money at the customers' cost.

                          Will this consumer forum or court help me tackle this menace and dispense Justice?

                            I have a Savings Bank account with Standard Chartered Bank, Sansad Marg, New Delhi. My Account Number is [protected]. My salary for the month of April was credited to my account on 30/04/08. I tried to withdraw Rs 13100.00 from the ATM of Standard Chartered Bank, Centre Stage Mall, Sector 18, NOIDA on 30/04/08 at 20.05 p.m. After entering all the details on the ATM I waited for the cash but no cash came out of the machine. When I checked the account balance again from the same ATM, I was shocked to find that the amount has been debited from my account. I rang the Customer service from the same ATM and was told that the amount will be credited back to my account in the next 24 to 48 hours. I also marked a complaint again from my residence telephone number later and was told that it may take 7 to 8 days. I have sent several e-mails also for the same. But no response has been made from Standard Chartered bank. I once again spoke to the customer service representative Ms Brinda ( complain Reference number: Brinda/RLC/0508/42) and was promised a callback from the Manager Mr Nagraj within 30 minutes. Still no response was made from the Bank.

                            I am being penalised and harassed for none of my fault by the bank. I am being asked to visit the Sansad Marg branch and fill a complain form. I have also issued several cheques to different people which may return unpaid and also there are few ECS set on my account where money is automatically taken from my account every month. Moreover I also need the cash for my own expenses.

                            Kindly look into this and arrange for the issue to be resolved as soon as possible as I am facing real problems as a major part of my salary is missing from my account.

                            On 9th March 2009 I deposited cheque Rs-20000/-(ch no-147465 state bank of India-Shakurpur Basti ) at Preet vihar branch atm my Account no is [protected] on 15th MARCH I HAVE CHEKCED MY ACCOUNTS BALANCE WITH ATM OF ORIENTAL BANK OF COMMERCE by my debit card atm shows Rs20088/-65 AVAILABLE BALANCE balance (TXN NO 9940 TIME 19.15PM ATM ID NA170031) DILSHAD GARDEN THEN I have withdrawal Rs-1000/- and next day rs 3000/- and after these both withdrwal avilable balance was 16088.65/-

                            Now I YESTERDAY I HAVE CHECKED ATM ON DATED[protected] AT 22.28 AM IN THE SAME BANK ATM WITH TXNO 116- THERE WAS BALANCE SHOWN rs 391.13/- tHIS WAS SHOCKING FOR ME BECAUSE I HAVE NOT ISSUED A CHEQUE OF BIG AMOUNT .

                            SECOND CHEQUE NO -147465/SBI Still not cleared from drawer bank...its my company bank

                            Please clearly correct my accounts

BUT ABOVE CHEQUE NOT RETURNED TILL DATE TO DUE TO DIS MANAGEMENT, POOR SERVICE, I HAVE SEVERAL VISIT TO BRANCH BUT MISHAPNESS BANK STAFF NO COOPERATING TO ME ANY REASONS.

So, I kindly request you to credit the amount of Rs. 300. I am also submitting a copies of statements for confirmation to The Chief Manager, Union Bank of India at ATM CELL DELHI ROAD MEERUT BRANCH point.

                              My sandarsd chartered credit card no.[protected]
                              i have a huge complaint against standard chartered credit cards as i am regular paying my dues, as i am using this card since 2001 i have taken a loan againts my credit card in october 2007, stil Febuary 2008 i have make all my payments regularaly but bank has debited 3000/ amt in my card which i have not used. and when i had gone to one of the credit card branch and called the customer care dept in Ahmedabad but not body has given me proper answer. Every month after receiving the statement i have to call customer care officer they gave me lumsum amount & told me that we will sure reverse your charge in the next month. But every month they have debited huge amt in my card like late payment finance charges etc. after they continusely trying to give call me on mobile & gave me POLICE THREATS & tald me that they are going to declare me defaulder.

                              please look in to this matter

                              I also have the similar experiance of harassment by the Standard Chartered credit card division.
                              My Dues were settled long time back in 1996, but these people have have labelled me defaulter by entering my name in there permanent defaulter .Due to this I am not able take loan from any bank.
                              Please help find a solution for this.

                                One of your Bank employee, he(SHIVAMURTHAIAH) recently (apprx.. 1 month) joined to your bank as Assistant Sales Manger, Shivaji Nagar Branch, Bangalore.
                                He cheated to you, he given fake(duplicate) experience as icici bank executive i.e., 3 yrs.
                                I am suprised how you give job for this person.


                                My request is to verify the candidates experience and other details.

                                  My name is jagdish vyas & currently i have complaint agaist Standard chartered bank. In the year 2004 i had taken 0% loan on my credit card for Rs 17000 for the period of 3 months & due to some curcumtainses i was not in position to repay this in three months. But the same i had paid after two months with the long discussion with senior authority of Standard chartered bank.The outstanding they had kept Rs. 400 which also the authority told me that they will reverse it but after 2 months i got call from the bank saying i have a oustanding of 1000 which i had told them that i will not pay because there was a comitement from the bank that they will reverse my outstanding amont which they haven't done & on that outstanding they started puting financial charges.At last i had denied to pay the same & due to which they had putted my name on satyam online negative list. After 2 years this 400 got increased to 16000 & for which i was not aware. Now my career has taken U turn & i got opportunity in one of the international bank & they runned the credit check of my name & found my name in negative list, so they told me to clear the same. In that regard i consulted Standard chartered bank & they told me to pay 9500 which then genuinly i had paid on 25th February 2008 & they had told me that they will remove my name from list within 7 working days, which they had not done & for which i had done followup & finally they had removed the same on 14th Aprol 2008.

                                  Truly i want to take some action against this please let me know what i can do

                                    Currently I am having a very horrible experience with the Standard Chartered bank staff. I had taken a credit card from this bank in the year 2005. I had settled the outstanding amount of 20, 695 and the executive who came to collect the cheque and he said my account will be settled I had confirmed this by calling the Bank executive and he said this account will be settled. I walked into the Standard Chartered bank in M.G. Road and spoke to one of the executive by name Ramesh and he confirmed to me that my account will be settled. I get a call on 8th of April 2008 exactly after 2 and half years from Standard Chartered bank that I need to pay the Bank 1, 160 rupees as balance and they have blacklisted my name in the Credit Bureau. My point is that why was not there a communication since 2 1/2 years regarding this outstanding amount. I have not received any e- mail or any statement or not even a telephone call stating that there is something outstanding on my card. When I spoke to the executive by name Fatima she tells me that since my amount was not a huge one thats the reason I was not informed about it and it has come to the final collection which is why they are calling me. Fatima is asking me to show any settlement document handover by SCB. As a normal customer how will I know these procedures and moreover I was promised by Priya from cunnigham road branch Bangalore that I will receive the settlement letter by courier. I have not changed my address or the telephone number and if they say a statement was sent to my address I would like to know the docket numbers of the courier.They are asking me to pay 8500 as outstading amount from 2 and half years. I would like to take this up with RBI Ombudsman and sue Standard chartered for not informing the customer about the outstanding amount in the first place and calling the customer after 2 and half years and asking for such a huge amount to be paid to take the name out of the blacklist from Credit Bureau. This is cheating the customers in a broad daylight. I need help in sorting this out I do not wish to pay for some one else's mistake.Please help

                                    Standard Chartered Credit Card — Harassing a normal customer by Standard Chartered

                                    Dear Sir / Madam

                                    I am holding credit card of "standard charted " Bank . Card Number is " [protected] " . I got one DD of Rs 18750 with the credit card on dated 10'th August 2005 . According to the salesman this DD was the offer with credit card and if i will use it then i need to pay the amount back to Credit card / bank (can be in EMI) and if i will not use it then it will not be transferred to my credit card account . I received this credit card in Aug/ 2005 (there was not any requirement of money but still salesman gave it to me as a free offer with card- forcefully )

                                    I have not received even a single notice or any phone call from Bank till June / 2008 . I have not used the DD of Rs 18750 (and it was expired after six month of issue), suddenly after three year Bank people called me for recovery of Rs 18750 which i have never used . Now the total Amount that i need to pay is Rs 54000 (as per recovery people) . I tried to explain them that DD is not liquidate till now, i never used even a single rupee. even the DD is not transferred to my account . everyday recovery people are calling me now and they are not ready to even listen me . This is totally a mental harassment . I request you to solve the issue ASAP .

                                    Recovery people are not even listening a single word ., they are trying to threaten me from last 3-4 days, misbehaved with me and my family very badly, This type of harassment from a very reputated Bank is really very shameful .

                                    Non -compliance of be aforesaid issue at the earliest will lead to seek all other options in this regard .

                                    I am having a night mare with Standard Charted Bank, the staff who are dealing with me are trained “Torturers" they know how to provoke the customers and extract the money, with money I went to Raheja Chambers on M.G. Road, to settle the dues, and not a single staff is ready to help me or listen to my plea, I met a security personal seated in place of the receptionist he is everything there a security man a reception an advisor all in one, mine was not exceptional case there were several people cursing and walking away from there, I waited for 45 minutes, and in a fit of anger I came back, the next day I got a call and again the same provoking language, I told the Lady that I visited your Bank but no one took the responsibility, to which she replied "so you ran and came away from there is it" I told her that I am was fasting and had to come back, to which she replied " what Sir you are fasting and not paying us “again provoking language”, I wanted to meet Mr. Rajat Mythri he is suppose to be the Manager that’s what I was told by the security and explain to him how the system is working but they wouldn’t allow me to meet him, I requested the staff to give his email id so that I can write a mail to him even to this they didn’t budge, that is the state of Standard Chartered Bank, rather I call it “Standard Torture Bank” They have the Audacity to go to the extent of even my religion and my family. The staff is trained how to personally injure a person, provoke him and extract money, I asked the names of these women who spoke to me; they give all false names as Priya, Reshma and what not. I am not denying the payment part of it, but the approach towards customers are horrible, they sound as English speaking slum dwellers. They even challenged me and threatened me as rowdies. On the other hand they force you down the throat to take their credit cards. I am waiting for the day when I can meet the right Person from Standard Chartered Bank explain to him the whole issue and clear up the dues and wash away my hands once for all.

                                    Wherever I see the logo of “Standard Chartered Bank “I dread, my thrat becomes dry and a chill passes down my spine.
                                    After reading this note please contact me on my email id, and I am ready to clear up the dues even at midnight. I am sorry for being harsh with you’ll but “only the wearer of the shoe knows where it pinches”
                                    Trust me you are 100% correct, these guys including zonal manager are like this, I want to present them a baby Nipple they call family members to threat the card holder like a school kids like in school kids complaint to parents

                                    there is lady called ANNU man trust me you can't talk to her I never seen such a down market person not even in slum you can find some one like that ...she calls customer beggar hope she should know that she is having food every day on the customer money and looks like she is Bill gates daughter, works for 5 k a month she thinks she is from heaven and she doesn’t know that their bank marketing persons are standing all around the place and beg us to take loan / credit card

                                    They are down market recruitment and that’s how they have been bought up not sure how these people go home and sleep.. The fun part is they need an appointment to meet the crap collection agent (think they are movie start)
                                    Where true . I would always suggest that those bank who doesnt have permission to open more than 9 branches in India, we should not be taking credit card from them. Instead of CBIL, we should create our own Blacklist for Banks as
                                    Barclay Bank --- Worst Bank-- Daicots Category
                                    Standard charter Bank- Priates Category
                                    HSBC- Theif category
                                    ICICI bank- Burglar Category
                                    SBI- Polictician category..

                                    We are just helpless citizen .. We dont have option ..but its the right time to teach them a lesson.

                                    You should look at all the communication that you had with them including any letter or email exchanges. Also ask them for the letter saying card is blocked because of non payment, this is a requirement as per RBI guideline before reporting the card member to CIBIL, if they have sent any letter ask them for a reference number of the courier.

                                    In your case since you have settled some sort of outstanding, you can ask them to let you know how did that balance reduce? If they made any effort to ask you that money if so what effort? Ask all these in writing (letter or email) so that it acts as a proof. You have a huge list of people who are suffering along with you. My advise is once you take this up, give them 30 days for a final confirmation if you dont get anything positive then you can take this case with Banking Ombusdman, RBI redressal forum.

                                    They would call for hearing, you should build your case/documentation because no one believes honesty in this world. Its a matter of BLACK and WHITE.

                                    My Question after reading all these comments is, how many have settled the matter and how many have told the bank GO TO HELL< TAKE ME TO COURT< I WILL SETTLE THE MATTER THERE.

                                    Do you think the bank can go to court with defaulters and get their money. How many haev done this?How many have actually experienced going to court after receiving the a lawyers notice and got the matter settled?

                                    I have used SCB card since February 2009. I have already cleared my all dues and at present my outstanding is 0 (zero). But I could not used the card since last 2 months. When I produced my card at hotel or purchase of fuel for my car, the payment declined by SCB. I am working in a reputed organisation in executive level. Therefore, I loose my status among others.
                                    Standard Charted bank harrasing me to pay the amount outstand of CC, which i didn't take.
                                    Even they are telling i took this in hyderabad in 2005, that time i working in kolkata. And htey are telling i worked for Some Software company that time, that also wrong.

                                      I have agold credit card from standard chartered bank for the past 4.6 yrs in India. Unfortunately due to medical and some unforsceen circumstances i am unemployed and unable to make payments on the card for the past couple of months.

                                      An executive started calling me for settlement since January 2008 and i have requested them clearly that in any given circumstance i would not be able to make payments more than 1000 INR a month. I would appreciate if you could please close my card account and i don't want this card anymore, these guys were pushing me to make apyments for 1400 INR a month and i refused then next month again someone called and agreed to it. But eventually no one turned up with the paper work and all, then one fine day in march i got a call from someone stating i am calling from Patiala House court and we will be coming to your house and at the back they made sounds of Police siren as if tehy are sitting in Police Van. when i said i don't have any money they started abusing and all.

                                      I would appreciate if someone could please help me with same and advise what should i do over the same.

                                      I am actually scared of them all, i have been making payments on itme for past 4 years don't know how they have such a huge amount.

                                      I am in a heavy financial and business loss since 6 years, i was having a OD account with standard chartered bank. it was a partnership with my friend, but since he has left, and i am unable to make payment to the bank due to too much of financial crisis. i am not able to afford even my family. Mr. Bannerjee a employee of SCB is saying me that he will take him to the court or the jail and he is harrasing me too much for the payment, his number is[protected], In 2010, from the gurgaon branch some senior officers visited my office and said to do the settlement in 5 months of abourt Rs. 25, 000/- ( which i paid Rs. 5000/- as cash on 17/02/2010) and the balance by july 2010, but nobody came. And in present time, i am too much of suffering from financial loss and even i am too much unable to feed my children, my wife and their fees and even the food. So this is a request please give me some time and waive off this in some sort of less payment so that i can manage it. my card no is [protected]
