I had a dispute between standard chartered bank.i droped a cheque in drop box. but bank could not collect and overcharged at me.even bank threatened me and continue to thretened me. at phone calls they said for the goons and muscle man. and threatened me to give my name to the cibil as defaulter list.after receiving so many calls of threatening i compliant to the s.p.office. after all they offered me to pay an amount.on condition that they will not show me as a defaulter. i paid the amount but they give my name as a defaulter.and this act of bank given me so many stress. as a business man i had very good relations with other banks but bank spoil my image. i am suffering lots of probs because of bank.even if happens anything to me or my business the scb bank will be responsible. i even wrote the banking ombudsman and cibil for this. they advised me to go the bank and update my record. but there is no one to listen. even manager too do not behave well.i want a letter of zero balance or noc. but they are not giving.i even asked a question to the rediff question and answer they all advised me to to go consumer court.

I am very unhappy with PHONEBANKING SERVICES of "standard chartered bank gold credit card". Actually I have lost my card on 24/11/07 and then tried so hard to reach the phone banking to block my card and finally when on 26/11/07 anyhow I contacted the phone banking they told me that there have been three transactions of retail on 24/11/07 worth Rs. 38000 approx. They were not able to tell me that where these transaction has been made and on this ground as per them even I cannot raise the Complain or dispute.
Finally on 27/11/07 again after struggling for 2 hours they told me that one transaction of Rs. 24769 has been made in Reebok, Delhi but they were not able to share the store name with me. Also they disclosed that one transaction of Rs. 10000 and one for Rs. 4096 has been made..... but Where? No answer.

Then they sent me the dispute form and told me to fax it back but only for the Reebok transaction. I faxed it back. Again on 28/11/07 I called they told me that your request for dispute has been forwarded, but when today on 29/11/07 I called them to know the status they are telling me that they have not received the fax but most strange thing is that I have the delivery receipt with me... secondly Today they are saying that there were only one transaction of Rs. 14096,and the most strange thing is after 6 and half day of transaction they are not able to tell me the name of the merchant. How one can trust their investigation Team?

Same thing happened with me i think we should complaint against SCB to RBI.
I had procured a Standard Chartered Credit Card number : [protected] in November 2003 and was promised the card would be free for the first three years and no annual fees would apply on it for this period. However, at the end of first year an annual charge was levied on this card. I therefore requested a cancellation of this card in early 2005 after paying for all purchases and spendings that I had made on this card from my end.

I was informed by the Standard Chartered call centre that request for cancellation of my card has been taken and would be acted upon soon. Post this, I received no communication from Standard Chartered for a long time. In early 2006 I received a letter from Standard Chartered informing me of some payments due from my end. I called the number provided in the letter and the officer who answered my call, verified and assured that that this was a routine exercise and the details would be reconciled and matters closed by around Sep - Oct 2006.

However, in Oct 2007, I again received a call supposedly from Standard Chartered legal dept in Delhi informing me of having payments due of around 6,000 Rs and I was asked to pay up 2000 Rs to settle and close matters. I was informed that that my account was not closed inspite of my request as I had not obtained NOC from the bank. This was the first time that I was being informed of this procedure. I was threatened 'legal implications' on refusing to pay up this amount.

In first week of Dec 2007 I again received a call from Standard Chartered Bangalore asking me to pay up Rs 8000 towards my account.

I had cleared all purchases made from my end and therefore I believe it is unethical on part of Standard Chartered to demand such payments from me and place me on their 'defaulters list'.
I am totally surprised as to why am i in defaulters list, in fact all credit cards of mine are live. Means i have no due, in turn sales people are calling from the stanchart bank to have a new card which is specially launched and only for selected customers. O.K, i agreed after lots of calls, i provided all the documents required for the application. Week later i got a letter from bank : "We regret to inform you that currently as per bank norms we are unable to extend you the credit facility" - the letter states. Top of that i again receiv call, i clearly told the lady on other side about it. she asked me provide some details and assured taht she will herself check the case and again an appointment for the credit card. The same regret letter again. To date i had received three regret letters from this bank.
Would like to inform the bank that i am not all interested in your credit service. And stop giving fake assurances. Is there some process in the company, do you mantain any standard. And why are you people unneccessary harras people for no reason. Nothing to say to the bank as the one who cannot understand should not be blamed.

This is regarding my issue , ie I placed a request for my new debit card and I have received the debit card 30 days back and yet I have not received my pin

Note:- I have placed request for debit pin twice than to there are no response from your side

It is very redicilious that you guys have our money and don’t provide good service or either normal

I dont have any words to describe the way these guys behave.
After dealing with these SCB credit card for some time,its very clear to me that the bank is here with a good plan,ie not to do a fair trade but to loot a person in one way or other.All there banking officers are well informed about the plan.The plan is currently under execution.In my experience of having a dozen cards SCB is the worst and unexplainable.
In the month of Dec. 2007, I had received call from the SCB's DSA they convinced me that they will provide me with a credit card and a smart credit facility account. I explained that, I live in a grey area as per the Private Banks List. This girl after discussing with her senior assured me my eligibility and filled the forms. On 05 Jan08, I received a SMS with the application ref. No. after 4 days I received another SMS saying "We regret to inform you that currently as per bank norms we are unable to extend you the credit facility". I am up on my arms not to leave these people this way who the hell are they to deny me with a credit. currently I am enjoying a very healthy and pleasant Credit facility with CITI BANK for last 1yr. can any one tell me the ways "How to complain with the RBI? or any consumer court etc... After reading the above complains I must admit that I was rescued with this denial.

standard charted bank is one of the bank running on threatend never care for RBI rules we have had a credit card of same bank had paid setteled amount & GOT A LETTER NO DUE but bank is not ready to report cibil as settled & no defaulter as he is also reported supplementry card as defaulter also, as RBI this is illegal but as contact with bank answer not care of RBI rules.so beware of such banks have no any standard.

Am a standard chartered customer tried to take Rs 300 from HSBC ATM using my debit card. But i got a response as "Transaction failed please contact branch". But from my account Rs300 was debited. I made a complaint to customercare and they told me to wait for 5 working days after 5 days i make a call to know about the status. They told me to wait for 15 days. Again after 15days i made a call to customercare to know the status of the complaint but they told to wait upto 45 days bcoz of its a interbank transaction. And they asked a writtern complaint about that so i made it through courier. like this it was continued for 5 time. Finally now they told the amount will credited in january2008 but the transaction was made last october 2007
For every call it will take some 2 to 3 minutes to reach the customer assistance. 3 times i asked them to connect to the manager but every time they told manager was not availabel now.
As a result i wasted Rs100 more for courier and phone calls.
I dont know its the SCB side problem or HSBC problem or Both. Its good if they say the how much days exactly it takes than telling 5,15,45 etc...but yet now they didnt credit the amount now i asked the status for my complaint.but they didnt have this complaint number now.
Hi,I had a credit card of Manhattan (SCB). i have closed this card on May 2007 with no outstanding balance. However my name is there in the defaulter list and due to which am facing problems in loans and other stuff. i have lodged a complaint also to the respective department however of no use. When i called up again to the CCare, they were not ready to listened to me and they were saying that the name will not be removed from the list. Why the name is still there?? i have made all the payment and there is fno due amount on my card and the card has been closed. So once i have made the payment and cleared eveything from the card the should get removed from the defaulters list. i an suffering a lot because of this. if i have nothing to do with the SCB bank then why my name is still there. thereby i request you to please remove my name from the list. This is very urgent.

I am using Credit Cards from other banks, but it has been worst experience when it came to Standard Chartered.

A representative came to our office and confirmed that we can get a Standard Chartered - Titanium card free for lifeline no hidden charges. They took a copy of our Company ID, PAN and Salary Slip.

After few days I got verification calls and I was informed that I will not be able to get the card since the detail in form were not correctly filled in. How, can this happen when all these detail were filled in by your representative. Anyways, I asked the verifier that not to process my application further I don't need the card. I received SMS and written mail from you bank that I will not get your Card.

Immediately after 2 days I got a mail with Credit Card with details of charges (The Phone PIN and Internet PIN were not there). I called up the help line number[protected] and they said that it's not a free card. I informed them that it should be life time free no cost attached. Then they said that I will receive a call today itself in this regard if my card if free for lifetime. I asked for my ticket number but I was told that I will not get this problem ticket / reference number - just wait for phone call.

But I received no phone call and I myself called after a week if things are resolved and this card if free for lifetime. Also, I have not Phone PIN and Internet PIN. I was informed by representative that no this is not a free card and all charges will be charged. I have now finally asked them to close the card as I have not used this card.

Truly it's the worst banking experience I had with Standard Chartered.

I had same problem with Standard Chartered Credit Card.
I got only two card statements in one and half years. I did only one transaction small transaction in July 07 and got a statement directly in Nov. 07. In which they had charged me heavy amount with lots of late fee and all. I called the customer care and got a reply that the card is temporarily blocked. I paid the amount and then called to confirm the receipt of cehque. The custoemr care then said that the card is permanently blocked much before that. Its absolutely unprofessional behavior. Suggest me the ways i can escalate this issue.

I have got the credit card but i donno how to pay the bills. I am not able to find the dropbox near to my place. There is no option for online registration for netbanking. My bill payement date is nearing donno what i should do.. They are responsible for giving the internet banking facility for credit card members. I held Stan Chart credit card during Nov 1997 till mid 2000. I cleared all my dues and requested for closure of the services by submitting a hard copy at Hyderabad Standard Chart Bank.

When I have applied for another loan, I got a cibil report stating that I was due an amt Rs.5581 during the time 2007 and this amount is written off in the year 2008. I request you to prove that I was holding the card during the mentioned period. Why to write off the amoount if I am really due to pay? I want the reply immediately ASAP. Stan Chart is well known for poor service and exorbitant charges. Now it got another title 'All Lies'. I want a detailed explanation on this account information:

This is regarding "Travel voucher" complaint.

I received titanum card ([protected]) on September 2007. I have paid Rs. 4000 /- for getting this card. But, Still i didn't get the travel voucher. Your people sent the travel voucher to my previous company address. I amn't working this company for the past one year. I enquired the company receionpist (prapha) what she said that whatever couries comes she put in the box. She doesn't know which couries comes because she received so many couries daily. After that I checked the box but, it was not there. This is happened after one month of sending the voucher.

In the past 6 months, I enquried so many times in the customer care people what they replied that they already sent the voucher to prapha.
I asked why you were sending to my previous company address since, i am not working for this company. Even my mailing address is only for residence address (please check my mailing address). Customer care people agreed that they made mistake for not updating mailing address to courier people.

I am listing the points for what your people made mistake.

1. whenever the bank send the travel voucher to concern person only. I don't know why your people allow to handover this voucher to third person.

2. Not update the mailing address in the courier (Blue Dart).

3. Not update proper response to the people.

4. I had spent Rs 100 /- enquring things in the past 6 months. Waste of time and waste of money.

5. Not asked anything to the concern people whether you have received the voucher or not.

My mistake is nothing. your people did all the mistake.
I have applied personal loan with Mysore HDFC Bank and the verfication results was positive with all necessary documents and now the bank is saying that i am a defaulter in Standard charted Bank, Bangalore.
I told them that i dont have any loan or credit card with them and how can they give in Mysore address where they dont have a branch then the HDFC bank people gave me some number and told its a credit card number of Standard charted bank which starts with 0 then suddenly i called up Standard charted bank credit card customer care they checked all my details and told sorry sir we dont have any data regarding you and the CC no. starts with 4 or 5. so again checked with HDFC bank they told its loan so i asked them to give a letter stating in which i am defaulter so that i can get the No dues from the concerned bank but this bank people are not ready to give the letter and they are making me wait from past 1 week ... So kindly suggest me how to go about beliving this loan i have commited a lot and my question is without checking the details properly how can they say a person defaulter in my case still now i have not taken any loan or credit card (which i hate)

My SCB Credit Card No. [protected]

I requested for my card replacement. After repeated requests, I received the SMS that my card has been dispatched through blue Dart courier AWB#[protected]. However, the blue dart people never came to my home nor checked with me on my telephone [Tel: 23353688 ( R ), [protected]C)] which are with you.

Upon enquiry with blue dart on 30 June 08, they informed me that they delivered the courier having my card to Ms Sharada, of StanCart Bank in Somajiguda, Hyderabad. When I contacted them they asked me to come over there and collect the card. When I went there, they replied that they did not receive it and directed me to Blue Dart. When I went to Blue Dart, they insisted that they dispatched to StanChart bank and an employ by name Siva of Blue Dart came to the bank along with me. After discussion with the bank, the Blue Dart finally conceded that their branch in Balanagar received it in the beginning and they sent the card with a different way bill to another address (Mr Satyanarayana Raju) and they thought that they delivered it to StanChart but they did not. Finally, they said that the card has been dispatched back to Stanchart Bank, Chennai!

Oh God!! Can you pl help me to get my card. Kindly reply me immediately informing me what action you are taking on it.

I have been using this card for 9yrs and bank has responded well. There were at times bank over charged me but it was settled / waived off after taking my considerations. I do have a good relationship with the bank as my payments are done on time...Of course they are cooperate well.Thanks to SCB.

Standard Chartered — never GO for Standard Chartered Credit card as banks have too many hidden charges and no responsible executives in there team.

I have a credit card from standard chartered bank.
I have just purchse one domestic plain tickets through this card.

They have not send me the Credit card bill. But I have made the payment for the same on the bank teller counter with in due date period.

They have not informed any where they will charge just Rs. 50 for teller sevice.
No one can judge that bank can charge on teller service.

Now bank have not send me any statement for the next month. But after one month they called me and claim that I have not made payment of Rs.50 which they have charged me on the second month Credit Card statement. And in the next consucative month they have chrge me a penalty for not paying those Rs. 50 which are nothing but teller charges. And now the amount payable is neat to Rs.500. I think No problem I will pay the same. And I have drop a cheque with in due date period for the same as i dont want to go for teller due to ignore bloody teller charges. But now what happen bank has withdrawn that check after due date. and In the next statement they claimed another charges by mentioning late payment charges. And till now they are claiming the penalty on the same card.

And now the last statement reches at Rs.6011.72
I have tried to convinced them through many calls, complains on the bank site.
But they don't want to listen anything. Also they are replying of any mails on there customer care ID.
I am still just talking to some executive who does not have rights to waive my charges and no one resposible Executive comes on call or mail an talk on my case.

If any of the bank resposible read this please contact me and take my Credit Card no and review all my statement and Close this issue.

I am using some responsible bank's credit card also and they are so responsible i an using there cards on daily bases with good reputation.

But due to this card I have to suffer a lot on my credit. My personal advise is that never GO for Standard Chartered Credit card as bank's have too many hidden charges and no resposible executives in there team.

I had also suffered problem similer to you in 2008 and suffered lot. Having suffered due to credit cards and CIBIL in 2008, have decided to help those who are also suffering due to such problems. In last 2 years I have gone through CIBIL Act, Rules and Regulations, severla other RBI guidelines as well. I am personally aware about Standard Chartered that they are doing lot of illegal activity and have already made complaint with RBI. But I want several complaints directly to RBI so that RBI is forced to issue inspection of Standard Chartered, which will bring out lot many surprises.

    Hi,

    In the interest of making other customers aware, I am placing this complaint here. I have been holding an SCB credit card for the last 9 or 10 years. All this while, I would drop a cheque a day or two before the due-date and there were no issues.

    For the month of October 2007, the due date my payment was due was 28-Oct. My cheque was dropped in the SCB drop box on 25-Oct(dated 25-Oct). In the next month's statement, the payment received date was given as 27-Oct (one day before the due date) AND a LATE PAYMENT charge was levied!! When we called SCB and enquired, they initially refused to reverse the charge stating that they have mentioned clearly in their statement that cheques should be depositted 3 days in advance.

    First of all, in their statement, they only mention "We encourage you to drop your payment in the cheque collection box 3 days prior to your due date." This is not mentioned as a "punishable offence". Secondly, my cheque was anyway dropped 3 days before!!!

    When I brought it to the call center rep's notice, all he says that only if the cheques are dropped before 10 AM 3 days before they will be considered!! After two calls with them, I absolutely refused to back down and got the charge reversed. Even at that point, the customer service representive refused to apologise for the admin error on their behalf and only continued advising me to pay on time!

    There was no forum to escalate this issue. With other customers who are not as persistent, Standard Chartered would get away with their incorrect charges. I am lodging a complaint with RBI so that this kind of harrassment doesn't go unnoticed.

    Deepa - This is probably too late to respond. It been almost a year and a half but never too late for a little education are we? :)

    Due dates on cards are computed based on income levels, wage date, amount etc. They generally differ a couple of days, plus or minus. Every bank will generate a statement on a particular date (excluding weekends and bank holidays) from which your due date will be around 26 days away. Unfortunately in India most of the credit card customers remember their first bill due date. Thats incorrect. I am not of the opinion that was the case with you however it could be a possibility. Hence, its important to ensure we, as consumers, receive statements each month that will tell us a specific date on which payment needs to be made.

    To briefly address your concerns about bank's behaviour towards your grievances, please be assured that every bank in India is governed by two major regulatories. They are a) RBI and b) Banking Ombudsman (part of RBI itself). Banking Ombudsman is a model to receive customer complaints and they act as mediators between the bank and the customer. Most of the times, there are statisfactory outcomes for the customer. Please search on google about this and you will get a lot of information including their official website where you can register your complaint online.

      Dear Sir/Madam,
      This has further to my complaint dated 23.08.2007 (copy attached as Annexure – ‘A’ page 1 to 2). After this complaint Bank approached me vide email dated 05.09.2007 (copy attached as Annexure – ‘B’) reducing undue charges from Rs.16072.00 to Rs.3790.29 only. On denying these charges and asking for documentary proof, they sent me dispute form for Rs.3790.29 only and confirmed that other unjustified charges have been reversed. Necessary dispute declaration form was sent to them on 28.09.2007 and I had considered the account settled.

      On 18.10.07 at around 4.00 PM, I received a call from mobile No. [protected] identifying himself to be Mr Pravin Kumar from Delhi Police that he has received Non-Bailable warrants in my name and DCP has specially given him this case and DCP himself is pressurising him to arrest me immediately. He refused to disclose the reason of warrants and given me number of Mr. Junez Khan Advocate of Bank in Delhi Tel No. [protected].

      I personally spoken to Mr Junez Khan at above number and explained that against an amount of Rs.16072.00 bank has already confirmed their mistake and had given final amount as Rs.3790.29 vide their e/mail dt 05.09.07. When I informed bank vide my mail of same date that this transaction was not made by me, bank sent me a form to fill which I sent on 28.09.07. After listening this also, Mr Khan suggested me (around 5.30 pm) that I must deposit this amount today itself and fax him receipt at fax No.[protected] failing which police will execute the warrants tonight itself and arrest me.

      I approached Bank Customer Care Officer Sherlina Narayanan who had confirmed settling above dispute (copy of email dated 18.10.07 attached as Annexure – ‘C’). This email was acknowledged by Customer Care Officer Sherlina Naryanan same day vide email (attached as Annexure – ‘D’) assuring to revert back immediately. After that I sent two reminders vide email dated 19.10.2007 at 12.35 PM and 1.12 PM requesting to inform the status but there was no reply and till today there is no reply. Ultimately in order to avoid any complication rising out of alleged issuance of Non-Bailable warrants, I deposited the total amount of Rs.16072/- and faxed the receipt to said Mr.Junez Khan, Advocate of Bank at Fax No. mentioned by him although the Bank Customer Care Officer already confirmed outstanding of only Rs.3790.29 which was also accepted by Bank to be investigated under dispute.

      The un-desireable, un-justified and illogical conduct of the officials of the bank as well as that of Mr.Junez Khan, Advocate for the Bank and Mr.Parveen Kumar, Inspector of Delhi Police, apparently proves that the bank has played a mischief with me in order to extort a sum of Rs.16,072/- (Rupees sixteen thousand seventy two only), which are not actually due. Mr.Junez Khan by mis-representation and threat o[censored]sing powers to arrest me by so called Mr.Parveen Kumar Inspector, Delhi Police has acted against the professional ethics. I reserve the rights to proceed legally against said Mr.Junez Khan, Advocate for the Bank and Mr.Parveen Kumar, who claimed himself to be an Inspector of Delhi Police.

      The Bank by their acts and conduct of omission and commission have indulged in un-fair trade practice to recover admittedly un-due amount, by playing mischief and fraud upon me, which caused mental tension for me. I was made to believe by the telephonic call of Mr.Parveen Kumar, alleged to be an Inspector of Delhi Police that certain action is being taken against me. I felt insulted before the persons, who were present in my office at the time of phone call made by Mr.Parveen Kumar for my arrest on the basis of alleged Non-Bailable warrants of arrest. The acts of the Bank apparently prove that they hatched a conspiracy to extract money from me by wrongful means and with a common intention and object, they executed their plan and extracted the amount. After the payment was deposited their Customer Care Deptt. did not even acknowledge my mails. The action of the Bank is certainly un-fair trade practice as well as deficiency in services of the Bank.

      By the acts of omission and commission of the Bank, I have suffered mentally as well as financially.

      It is requested that necessary action may please be taken against the said Bank under provisions of law.

      As discussed with you telephonically regarding the faulty withdrawl from Dr. Prabhat Saxena S/B Account Nos: [protected] of a cheque ( 298741) of a different series of amount Rs. 21,575.00 on 31.10.2007.
      The complaint [ NB/LC/ 1107/5 and NB/NF/ 1107 /11] for this matter was lodged on 1.11.07 while I was doing ATM transaction .On the very similar day I had applied for blocking my Account transactions both through Check & ATM.
      On repetedly talking to customer care executive yesterday I was given another complaint Nos. RU/LR/1107/207 and assured that a High ranking responsible person shall personally look into the matter and shall solve it within 24 hrs.Till now no reply was forthcoming.

        Standard Chartered — Cheque Clearence issue

        I am a resident of Noida City, Satcom Engineer by profession. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction at poor service provided by Standard Chartered Bank .
        I have submitted the cheque on 15th july, 2008 of Deutsche Bank having no. 635259 at Brahm dutta Tower, Noida along with photo id and application of being same person as my name written over the cheque is YOGENDRA MISHRA and account having YOGENDRA NARAYAN MISHRA.After completing all process, I got the deposit slip of submittion of cheque.BUT till now (7/08/08) I didn, t get it in my account
        I called to customer care of SC and lodged the complaint there thats no. is abhisk/LC/0808/1.He gve the assurance to me that within 48 hrs u would be getting the call from our executive, but no call I got it.
        I went to ATTA branch of SC on 2/08/08 and I explained the aforesaid problem to Miss Vidhi, She assuerd me that after two days (4/08/08)you will get your cheque in SC Branch and after that you have to follow again that process, BUT when I called that day no one is picking up the phone.
        When I called the manager of that company, he told that this is not the proper place to ask.And said me to call on customer care no.
        In these cicumstances I really get frustated and feeling helpless.
        I know that Standard Chartered Bank is very Big brand. But these type of inconvenience loose customers.

          Dear Sir,

          I had a credit card with Standard Chartered bank (Ac. No. [protected]) with expiry date 09.07. I never used the card for any purpose (neither physical swapping nor e-transaction). Never activated the card or even show it to anybody. It was always in my locker at home. I created the account only for repeated request for free card by bank vendors.

          Now last month I got a card statement from the bank amounts to Rs 62,054.00 for some transaction I have never heard even. I called up the customer care immediately and ask them to withdraw the charges at once. They asked me to fill up dispute they will send and fax the filled up form to the number they mention. I did the same immediately after getting the form from them. After few days without getting any response from them I wrote to their grievance cell (Card.[protected]@in.standardchartered.com) to provide some feedback on the above.

          Again after few days, they have found some transaction as valid and I have to pay the amount and they are investigating others.

          Now I have few doubts. There may be two cases.

          1) The bank trying to cheat myself charging false transactions on my account, which is highly probable.

          2) They have done some mistake and did some wrong billing.

          If first is the case then I have nothing to say. In case of 2nd option, there are few possible way to do the mistake.

          a) They put someone else’s transactions to my account by mistake.
          b) They have issued a card with the same account number as mine to another person and didn’t delete the old account and the amount has been charged to me. This is possible as the expiry date of my card has been reached (09/07).
          c) They have issued a updated card with new expiry date for me and handed over the card to a wrong person. This is highly possible as the expiry date of my card has been reached (09/07).

          In this circumstance, I am very worried about the issue. Could you please help me to get rid of all these false transaction amounts and take strict steps against the aforesaid bank so that they will not dare to harass any responsible citizen of India in near future.

            I am currently in US since Feb 2006.

            Before leaving for states I asked Standard Chartered bank to cancel my credit card. But they mentioned that there is some outstanding so they cannot cancel the card. I cleared the outstanding and left for the US.

            After 6 months they stared calling my company where I used to work (as my billing address was of the indian company)>

            I learned from my friend in previous company that the bank people are calling. So I called the bank and learnt that there had been some outstanding payment of 1Lakh 20 thousand.
            When I invetigate the matter further this was the conclusion:

            The bank claimed that they had sent a new card at the office and the transactions were being done using that card.

            Now they are calling my hometown as threating my folks.

            I have already sent all relevant proofs of my stay in US for the period the transactions had happened.

            Please advice.

            I used my Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card for some product service of 2, 900. But merchant make duplicate entry of the and my outstanding was 5, 800. I talked to Bank ( Bangalore, India )so they told to send Dispute declaration form. After sending that form i was waiting for response, but i did not get proper response for 1.5 months. Everytime different exicutive gives diffrent openion. some said that its it process. some said that will call etc... Meanwhile my outstanding reached to 6, 600. After 3 months i have been told that you did not reached within 15 days of dispute, we are sorry we can't reward it back.

            I think this is biggest poor service case i faced among us.
            I am Jaya Kumar, used SCB credit card 2 years back. When I transfered to Hyderabad from Delhi, I have cleared all the amount other than loan amount which is EMI. Later also I cleared all the amounts through cheques. After One and half year SCB executive called me and told that the due is about 12000. I explained that all the things were cleared. He asked me the proof and I sent all the cheque numbers through which I paid. Later now some other executive is harassing me and asking me to settle the amount. Where I had to make complaint on this?

              Just to fulfill target, Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) Loan Team is harassing customer like anything till the customer thinks that he/she is a bagger and only SCB courteously helping him or her by giving me loan (approved 230000/- and given 154000/-) with heavy interest and delay.

              Ratandeep & his team (SCB Office at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Delhi) called up and requested me for a loan on phone on behalf of my card (maintaining with you since 1999 / 2000) without blocking my limit for Rs.230000/- (double of card limit) plus air ticket for any sector across the country and 2nd ticket on 50% discount. After a delay of atleast 1 month and several reminders, they sent me cheque of Rs.154000/- only and said very easily that if I want they will arrange balance Rs.76000/- against my card limit for air ticket they said, it will reach you within 10-15 days as the same will be issued by Indian Airlines

              On their personal assurance I availed the loan facility of Rs.154000/- and waiting for ticket and after 20-25 days when again I contact them they said it is already courier to you, they will check and get back to me again after week, when I checked with them, they said please take the courier details from Call Center helpline, as they have all these type of details when I checked with call center people, they said my loan was not under air ticket offer as the same was till May’07 and my loan was sanction in June’07 after telling the whole story to the Manager of call center (Ms. Neha) she helped me and arrange to sent the attached voucher in September, but she assured me that the voucher will be valid for 6 months from the date of receipt of voucher.

              When I received the voucher,

              1. it is valid upto 31-Oct-07 with some categorized sectors
              2. I contact Neha and informed her about the same, she said she will check and get back to me but now she is neither replying me nor coming on phone
              3. while contact Friends Global, they said it will not be revalidated, only eligible as per sectors mentioned and no second ticket will be on 50% off
              4. they also said that if I want I will book the ticket with a particular date (comes within year) before 31-Oct-07 and if I want to postpone or prepone the same Rs.100/- per sector will be charged.

              Please help me, now as the sectors mentioned are all business centers and not holiday places, either give me DELHI-GOA-DELHI with 2 ticket on 50% off or refund me for all the harassments done by SCB people
              or give me atleast one more ticket for my husband, because I will not travel alone and if we go together the other ticket will cost high
              or give me your final decision so that I will send back the ticket to you as a GIFT from my side for atleast listening the whole episode and understanding the harassment and how these people are cheating customers like me.

              The whole above story I had wrote on 05-Oct-07 to SCB people (Samuel & Sachin, Bangalore) on their request, but nothing responded till date, infact I received calls (2 times) from somewhere from Delhi SCB around 6 p.m. but I had requested them to talk to me around 7 p.m. as I was travelling that time not able to listen properly but they said they will call up next day morning around 10 a.m. for which still I am waiting and tried on their no. 66400335 several times but always going no reply as usual. instead again next day around 6 p.m. after my mail request to them, I received a call from one lady executive from SCB (tel no.[protected], while I was driving back to home. I think now they people are only passing time so that validity will lapse and they can easily able to tell me that “sorry mam we are not able to do something or other excuse”

              Secondly now what SCB Delhi executives wants to know from me instead I had already wrote each and everything to them, still they are calling me (as informed you) and asking me that I have some problem in credit card or some air ticket, etc.. Please it’s now look likes that I am bagger and that’s why I had last time requested SCB to give me response in writing, otherwise I am returning air ticket back to them as a gift from me to them.

              Oh i think i am too late to see your complaint.

              SCB is trying to cheat me also. I have collected a lot of evidences against SCB to prove its fraud intent activity.
              i am planning to file a case in consumer court.
              SCB has cheated me, it is trying to be very diplomatic and also revealing its flaws one after the other.
              I will try to make SCB get a highest punishment possible from the court.

              Any suggestions that i should consider?

                Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card No : [protected]

                I have opted services of above credit card way back in March 2002. I have been placed by SCB in defaulter’s list stating non payment of credit card dues.

                Facts of the Case :

                1. I have asked to stop service of the card in May 2003 to stop the services of the card on the following grounds.

                ( A ) I have Withdraw Cash for Rs. 4500/- from SCB , Mithakhali Cross Road , Ahmedbad ATM on[protected] . At the 1st instance I was not able to complete the transaction on the 2nd Attempt I was able to withdraw Rs 4500/- from my Credit Card , and have informed at the Branch / help line on the same date stating the same , help line has assure to reverse the transaction after verifying the things. Subsequently SCB has reversed the entire transaction on[protected].

                ( B ) SCB has debited Annual Fees vide their statements dated[protected] ,[protected] and[protected].


                ( C ) I have instructed SCB help line to stop the services in May 2003 and subsequently from June 2003 SCB has stop to levy charges.

                I have not made payment of Rs. 1848/- due on April 2003 end from May 2003 on following grounds.

                Grounds of Non Payment by me :

                ( A ) SCB has reversed the disputed transaction in September 2002 , in spite of that they have mentioned the amount withheld in their subsequent statements.

                ( B) SCB has not reversed the annual fees , once I have subscribed the services on “ NO ANNUAL FEES “ basis. SCB Customer Care Executive has confirmed on helpline to reverse and stop the service of the card in May 2003. In fact considering the same SCB has stop charging any thing from May 2003 Onwards.

                ( C ) SCB has placed me in the defaulter’s list without intimating me , they have never sent any statement to me . ( enclosed statement sent by SCB (sreejaya P V ) on 30/08/2007 still they have not dispatched statement for Aug, Sept 2007.

                ( D ) I have never utilized the services of the card considering the above facts and Grounds since May 2003. I am being cheated by SCB, SCB has not bother to take me request , permission , consent , acknowledgment to debit further annual fees to said credit card. I was not happy with the way SCB Services. They have not send me any statement from SCB , SCB has not intimated that your Credit Card account has been placed in defaulter’s category.

                Request --

                ( A ) Balance of Rs 1848 /- in May 2003 was jumped to Rs 14710 /- in July 2007. During the period I have never utilized the services of the Card. Is this a right Business practice to earn profit , SCB has done all the above things once they have stop giving services in May 2003. Once my services are stopped why they have debited further amounts without my taking my consent , request , confirmation.

                ( B ) It is illogical , unlawful to charge any amount once the accounts is getting default or become N P A.

                ( C ) I am ready to pay Rs.1848/- with Interest and service tax as per the working enclosed as per Annexure III .

                I herewith humbly requested you to help me out considering the above facts and to my willingness to make payment .

                Standard Chartered Bank/Credit Card — Undue charges levied, without intimation

                This is regarding my nonpayment of dues/late fees for my credit card with Standard Chartered bank.

                There was a transacion for Accident Protector Cover charged to my credit card, without notification/concent from me.
                Also I received no statements and follow-up calls for 4 years for these dues. And suddenly the bank calls up and asks me to pay up with late fees, now amounting to Rs. 6700/=.

                My request for statements for these chanrges was outrightly rejected, as I am told that the statements were sent and wont be sent again.
                This is highly unjustified, as I seem to be helpless with the customer care.
                Now the case has been forwarded to their Recovery team, which threatens me with legal action for non-payment. Off-late I received an email from Bank saying that they acknowledge their mistake and would reverse all the outstanding. But the recovery team still threatens me to visit my place and with legal action.

                I would like to take help from the consumer forum in this regard.

                This is what I experienced with HSBC Credit Card.

                I have been told by HSBC executive to take life time GOLD Card and I accepted the same. After competion of one year the HSBC charged me 2000 rupees as card fee and earlier I have been told its free card.

                Onwards I stopped my payment to bank and now after so many month and without solving the query, Banks legal department calls and says that your amount almost doubled.

                Please suggest what somebody has to do.
                They are Fraud Bank, they does the same kind of thing with me and harassing me by making calls.
