[Resolved]  Tata Sky — Fraud in the name of relocation

TATA name till now use to carry an image of respect and a company full of ethics in my mind. But the recent turn of events has forced to reconsider on my beliefs.

With the start of DTH, TATA group entered into the arena amidst much fanfare.Needless to say it was accepted with open hands by the masses as TATA was a name they could blindly trust and they believed it wouldn`t resort to cheating. But now with the draconian relocation charges they have really stooped to an all time low. 600 rs for drilling two nails into wall must be probably the costliest task in the whole of India.

The worst part is that you people are resorting to the old licence quota raj policy of one size fits all. For example if an user has got his dish with him along with wire to the new premises, and he only needs some tatasky technician to come over, align it and fix it up ( which is merely a 10 min task ) even then you are supposed to pay 600/- and if you are going for something from scratch then also its 600/- .


My only concern for a company which till used to project a good image in customers is to stop resorting to such cheap tactics and be reasonable in their pricing

i bought tata sky thinking tata is a reputed name, but later i found the customer service horrible. i relocated from banglore and was told i will be charged 350 if the building in mumbai has a common dish and 600 if it dosent but after shifting i found that the building has a common dish and the person who came to instal told us that ill be charged 350 but now they have diducted rs600 and i have been making std calls as they dont have a tollfree number but the service is so bad that they failed to help, and after recharging they had to give the connection in 24 hrs but they came after 3 days and have charged me rs 70 for those 3 days though the connection had not been given and again i had to make a std call and they put me on hold and told me to put a mail as they cant do anything.
The charges for relocation is high and upon it if it takes more than 20 meters of cable they charge u extra 200 which i think is looting
My experience is even worse

Tata Sky installation charges are 1000INR. For relocation they will charge 600 rupees. Once you call them for relocation, they will come to your house and then connect it and then charge 200 rupees more saying that it is non standard installation and the cable is more than 20m. The interesting thing is the cable is not the property of the customer but the property of TATA sky. In case if the customer is relocating, he is not allowed to take the cable with him. Then TATA sky takes away the cable with them. They are asking me to pay 200 more rupees.
Tatas have found a good way of making money. How long these cheap tricks work

Sir I wanted to complain against the dirty fraud tricks played by tata sky people to loot customer’s money. What they have done now is that they have added crucial channels like ESPN, STAR SPORTS AND STAR CRICKET to a new add on pck called "SPORTS PLATINUM" it costs Rs. 75 a month. These channels previously in the family pack and MOREOVER SOME OF FREE TO AIR CHANNEL was coming at the time new connection and now stopped all those channels.

I bought tata sky thinking tata is a reputed name, but later i found the customer service horrible. i relocated from sector 17c to 17a five month before at that time I was paid 600, now again I was changed my house in 17a itself around 100 metes away from previous house and again they were asking 600 Rs and i will be ready to give 300 but they were not accept.The charges for relocation is high which i think is looting the customer money

I just bought TATA Sky a couple of days back in a multiroom configuration. Though at first I was impressed by the professional manner of the technicians but now after jst three days m begining to repent. Firstly my name was entered wrongly in their records. I can forgive a spelling mistake but changing my name from Shivendra Bisht to Devender Vist is horrible. As if this was not enough they activated my service with addons like Lifestyle Gold & Education Gold which I never asked for. And today I suddenly recieve an alert stating Rs. 100/- has been deducted for Non Standard Installation Type 1. What the hell! I was never told i was having a non standard installation at my premises. They already charged Rs.1000(after 50% discount) from me to install one dish with 2 STBs. When I went online to complaint the My Query page will not accept more than sixty words - that means I'll hv 2 make 2-3 complaints. but even tht doesnt work. After submitting one complaint the site is not opening the query page. This is so unlike TATA. I must say my trust on the TATA name has been shaken if not totally broken.
I strongly agree with all the complaints. It's really sad that TATA SKY is not standing upto TATA's name they earned in the past and still people trust them. And in this age of competion where they alrady facing to other service provider like DISH, BIG and SUNDIRECT etc they will no longer be able to maintain there customers unless they improve their service. So the concerned has to seriously look into the complaints and do the needful for the customer satisfaction.

I strongly strongly agree with all the complaints... TATA SKY is a complete CHOR company ... they have completely destroyed the reputation of "TATA" with their fake relocation charges, secret debiting of account, hidden charges which never show in bills, non-working second hand set-top boxes and complete lack of attention to servicing a customer...There only purpose in life is to CHEAT, STEAL and MAKE MONEY OFF THE CONSUMER... I am truly glad that now that they are no more a monopoly in the market, Consumers can happily stay away from this fraud company and get services of DISH TV, AIRTEL DTH, VIDEOCON DTH or even RELIANCE DTH at cheaper rates too.
I think you should contact Tata Sky customer service. They are quiet prompt in their reply and will help you out. It is more effective way of getting your work done. Tata Sky — about zeetos rewards programme

sub id[protected]. tata sky is a very bad company. they don, t gives any rewards for exchangnig zeetos i have been also hunted by this. they have also deduct my money for that from my dth box

Tata Sky — some channel not showing

Some channel are block and massage display - if it is cloudy outside or raining, kindly wait till weather clear.( channel which block like Epic, homeshop18 etc .)
