Samskruti channel has wonderful programmes for spiritual growth and personality development. Topping the list in this channel are Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev's ISHA programmes and Swami Maitreya's prog.
Tatasky viewers are deprived of this amazingly popular channel of Andhra Pradesh.
Viewers please come together and request Tatasky to telecast this channel too.

Hi,

I totally agree, why tatasky cannot give telecast Sanskruti, Maa music, DD-Saptagiri, Bhakri and many more.
I totally agree... They say SOUTH (saver/family/umbo) PACKS, but do not include much of TELUGU CHANNELS..Not even DD SAPTHAGIRI.. But they do keep on adding channels from all other languages(Zee TV's from all other languages except TELUGU!!!)...SAMKRUTHI is a free to air Channel from TV9 yet they don't add it to the list..
It is hoped that action shoud be taken for inclusive of the above channels.

Yes I agree with the complaint. Sanskruti Channel is the wonderful channel in Telugu, which is free to air. The channel telecast wonderful programmes about health care, yoga, pranayamam, personality developments etc., which is very useful for every human being irrespective of caste, creed, language and religion. Therefore I earnestly request the authorities to kindly direct all the private and public operators to telecast this wonderful channel.
I too many times requested the TaTa Sky for inclusion of devotional channels (telugu), such as Bhakti TV, Samskriti TV etc., . So far I have received no response. These are very very important channels and I donot know why these people are not listening.

Even the SVBC in Active Darshan is telecasted only half screen. the viewing of this channel is very heart burning as so many important programmes could not be watched fully from a distance. There is no browsing from this channel.

All telugu people who are interested in these channels must agitate.

    ESPN, Star sports & Star Cricket are recently added to Sports Platinum Package seperately charging Rs. 40/- pm and Tensports Rs. 15/- pm. This was part of my base package earlier. Without information from 01Jun07 all the sports channels there were no signal when approached they said I need to pay more.

    Tata Sky is a complete cheat...They first discontinued all the signals from ESPN, STAR, STAR CRICKET, TEN & BBC...Nowhere it was mentioned in the tickers they were showing prior to 1st June 2008 that we need to approach customer care or the channels will be blacked out. Obviously after that all dissatisfied users would have started calling the customer care...So they ran away from that and shut down their call centres completely...I personally tried calling the call centre nos. since last 5 days for more than 30 minutes every time but didnt get thru. Sent them multiple SMSs to renew the sports package but I got an auto reply that they cannot fulfill my request. I wasted more than 1 months subscription on the calls I had made to customer care since last 5 days.

    I am taking Tata Sky to consumer court...I would advise all Tata Sky subscrbers who have been frustrated because of this inexplicable move by tata sky to suddenly block all sports channels and then close all means of reaching them, to resort to legal action against tata sky. We atleast deserve 1 month free subscription to compensate for the trouble and telephone charges.
    I'm tata sky user since last 6 months. Tata sky provided facility to add add-on packages. But they havent provided facility o[censored]nsubscription to those packages. Every time i have to call and tell the customer care executive to remove package. Also, sending sms to tata sky costs 3 rupees. Initially i have spent more than 100 rupees over sending sms. Also unknown amount of money over calling to customer care. Much of the time when i call, call get automatially disconnected. I just got frustated by calling tata sky.Kindly help me in this regard.
    tatasky is the worst thing which happened in my life. they are simply stupid. waste of time and money.

      It is known that it is mandatory to broadcast all doordarshan hindi as well as regional channels, but just after a month of subscription to tata sky we found out that they had stopped "DD-8"(DD saptagiri-Telugu) channel and DD-Podhgai...when asked about it the y replied that since they are adding new channels they had to drop certain channels, now i have seen only one new channel i.e.UTVi that they have added, but they claimed 5 were being added...what is the further recourse tha one might take?

        BBC World and BBC Entertaintment channels are dropped from 1 June 2008 in our package of Super Saver Pack.

        We had Joined Tata Sky In March 2008 because we wanted these 2 channels in addition to others channels offered in this package. Nowhere were we told that they would discontinue any channel at will. Must we always be calling a helpline that does not answer.

        How can we bring these people to think o[censored]s as consumers and not and not as their pawns who are prepared to pay extra because of their whims and fancies.

          I am having tata sky connection. After marketing the product, the company slowly with drawing some channels from the package and forcing the cosumer to get it as pay channel. I had this connection only for sports. From[protected] all the sports channels were become pay channel. Even the DD tamil and telugu version were stopped. The kannada, malayalam dds were shown. I do not really under stand the yard stick for the southern package. The NE, gujarathi, punjabi bengali and other channels were given which is unnecessary for the southern pakage. Even bbc news channel became paid channel. Having blocked all the channels as paid channels there is no use in having tata sky connection. This is unfair trade practice. I can go for the cable connection or any other connection. I am really sorry to say that. I want to withdraw the tata sky connection. Kindly let me know the proceedure for refund of the amount.

          Sir,
          I have ur product since last Cricket world cup, initally i was happy with ur service but day by day it seems to be worst, because when i bought ur connection it was told that all the sports will be show at free of cost, but slowly channels are being dropped one by one and intimating us to view u must pay for it, i am confused i dont know wre it going to land. It this is the way means, i think ur are forcing me to with drew the connection. Please do some thing to satisfy the customers. Mostly SOUTH INDIANS are not benifitted with ur offer. (With the same channels local cable operator are charging Rupees 120/ only).
          It will greatfull to ur organisation if it consider in getting down the charges. More over please suggest me which will be the suitable package for me, i am intrested in follwing channels only. All tamil channels, Sports channels, CNBC TV 18, Animal Planet, Kids channel. I am intrested in these channels only please guide me.

          I had subscribed to Tata Sky DTH but did not renew the package after the completion of subscription. In the meantime I also recharged my account with an amount of Rs. 4600 on 18/11/2012 but did not opt for any of the services and my TV was also showing no service. Now thecompany person, Mr. Pradip, is calling and saying that from my account Rs. 22 is being deducted everyday even though they have not and are still not providing me any service. My arguement is that since I am not being provided service why should I be charged. Infact, I am negotiating withanother company for better offer.
          My last Reference Number with the company is 1#[protected]

            One wonders how far the major corporations are going to be allowed to go before someone
            says enough is enough. When people-customers- subscribe to a service via a service provider, it is crucial to the integrity of that provider to maintain its agreements.. In the case of Tata Sky many people have subscribe to the service in order to be able to watch the Amrita TV channel. After having subscribe they woke up one day to find that Tat had dropped Amrita TV from their network. Now after installation charges have already been paid, subscribers find that the very reason they subscribed in the first place is now null and void. What is the message keep your agreement keep you integrity

            I totally agree..Tata sky guys sends u so many messages on any new channels or services they offer, but when they decided to drop these 2 channels, there is no intimation at all..this is the worst behaviour one can expect from a top corporate house in India..thumbs down to you Tata sky..will never recommend u to any of my friends or relatives..
            It is quite saddening and indeed frustrating to many subscribers that TataSky has decided to drop Amrita TV. It has been one of my favourite channels. It is well nigh impossible too to get in touch with Tatasky customer care, their phone lines being inadequate and the call centre staff having little knowledge about customer service.

            I have subscribed for the Jumbo Super Saver pack with additional Sports Package. That is at Rs.300 per month + Rs.99 p.a. Now they claim (falsely and dishonestly of course) that the subscription rates have been reduced. To my shock today I find that they have removed all the sports channels and quite a few other channels. To enjoy the same number of channels that I had originally subcribed for I now need to pay Rs.350/- per month. Now that is cheating, corporate style, least expected from the Tatas.

            Now the question is: Is there a better option for us? I dont mind dumping the set-top boxes (I have 2 of them) if there are better service providers.

              Tata sky is dropping channels day by day. Two of the most popular malayalam channels named india vision and amritha television are not on tata sky from last week onwards. When ask about this to tata sky, the reply was that these channels are not popular. This is not true, because both the channels are high rated and india vision is among the top news channel in malayalam. Amrita television is also popular with its variety of programs. Tata sky drops zee channels, but they didnt drop the price. They convert some channels named zoom, 9x, bindass into pay package, while the same channels are relayed on some other dth as well as cable networks free of cost to the customers. Some body should do some thing to stop tata sky from dropping channels and hiking prices.

              you r right, they have done it to espn, star sports etc..as wellas BBC channels...what the heck is going on????
              TATA Sky is behaving absolutely ridiculous.They are coming everytime with a new package? I started with maximum avavilable package one year back and now all the sports channels are gone.
              We have started paying Rs 30 extra for LifeStyle channel.
              Now we will have to pay something extra for sports packge.

              Is this practice justifiable?
              Can we log a complaint againsty them in consumer court?

              I also faced the same problem with TATASKY, Now the tatasky had removed all sports channels and Indiavision, Amrita etc. I hope we all can be together and file a suite against them in the consumer court
              I've subscribed to Tata Sky last year & my subscription ID is [protected].

              I had already complained to their customer care department last week after Tata Sky has taken off 2 of our regional channels from Kerala, "Amrita" & "Indiavision". The response I got from Tata Sky was very funny. According to them, they have made a survey on these 2 channels & found that not many people are watching it & hence the Management has decided to pull it off. What is our fault if others are not watching it???! we are paying for it!!! why have they not deducted subscription amount if at all they want to remove such channels????!!!

              I bought Tata Sky connection last year to watch World Cup cricket matches on Neo Sports & the moment World Cup got over, they have taken off these sports channels and made it pay channels. Now they are playing that dirty tricks again with other sports channels in view of Euro Cup which starts on 7th June & upcoming cricket matches in which India involves.

              They add channels whenever they feel like & remove them whenever they want. We are paying a sum of Rs. 300 every month & if things go like this we will end up paying this money to watch only DD & some cartoon channels.

              I've seen a notification from Star Sports, ESPN & Ten Sports on The Times Of India newspaper dated 5-6-08 that Tata Sky has taken off these channels on their own & they should not be blamed. Can somebody please act immediately & teach them a lesson. They know it can happen only in India...but then all consumers who have subscribed to their connection should unite & file a PIL against this Company!

              Dear Tatasky you are getting more requests for channels like Zee Premier Zee Action Zee Khana Khazana most of the customers really want this channel please Harit Nagpal sir we request add all favorite channels very soon to make most of the customer happy. Big question to Harit Nagpal sir most customers asking question about will Zee Tuners can come back this is question to you sir. Please try to take necessary action very soon one good question to tatasky can tatasky launch universal remote because most customers need use two remote it's better launch universal remote like how Airtel DTH had launched in same way tatasky should work on it.               Tatasky need to improve because inspite having limited transponders is very difficult the reason for it every customers want more channel but it is very difficult because of limited transponders can carry 150 channel depending on space of Satellite tatasky should work on increasing more transponders so that you add more channels according customers choice it better choice even good suggestion to tatasky. Even do channels are poor TRP ratings should be removed from tatasky some channels should move Active like DD Rajya Sabha because it take more space than other channel because the reason it take 1000 Mbps wasting transponders it is better choice Move active add favorite channels to most of customers and make customers happy.                 We have subscribed the Tata Sky South Jumbo Package(top most package) For One year subscription Scheme Rs. 3500.
                In February we subscribed the south jumbo pack through net.
                Now after these many days they dropped about 5 channels in which they dropped two malayalam channels.
                One Channel is Amritha channel. We were regular viewers of this channel.
                Now day before yester they dropped the channels and on inquiring the droppings they are not giving me answer. they are just saying the top management has dropped so. Neither they are giving a channel nor they will give the board casting of amrita channel .
                Now how can we believe the Tata Sky that in future that wont drop more channels. As we have paid for the whole year we dont know what to do.
                what guarantee we have that they wont this again and again every month and we will be answered when we ask

                Dish TV-TataSky war of words over new pricing scheme

                New Delhi, June 3 (PTI) Direct-to-Home television service
                providers Dish TV and TataSky are locked in a war of words
                over the latest subscription offer by the latter.
                A day after TataSky announced cut in its subscription
                charges on different packages, Dish TV today said "what is
                being positioned seemingly as a price reduction is not at all
                a reduction".
                "A reduction of price can happen only if the value of the
                product does not decrease simultaneously, which is not the
                case here. Whilst a new lower price has been announced, it is
                at the cost of reduced content (as) 12 channels have been
                removed from the base pack, " a Dish TV statement said.
                TataSky had announced that its Family Pack would be
                available at Rs 200 per month instead of Rs 250 earlier. This
                pack offers around 90 leading Hindi, regional, kids,
                infotainment and news channels. Also, the top-end Super Saver
                pack, offering over 110 channels including English channels,
                was reduced to Rs 260 per month.
                Dish TV said in actual terms it is a price increase by
                TataSky as now customers would have to pay extra for ESPN,
                Star Sports, Star Cricket, Ten Sports and BBC, which have not
                been included in the new packages. These channels were
                available within the earlier schemes.
                When contacted, TataSky Chief Marketing Officer Vikram
                Mehra said the new pricing strategy was done to avoid
                customers paying for unwanted channels.
                "The whole philosophy is that people who do not want to
                pay for a niche channel should not be paying for something
                they do not want to watch, " Mehra told PTI. MORE PTI KRH RKL

                According to the Dish TV statement, TataSky's new pricing
                would actually be a price increase. "For an apple to apple
                content, they (customers) will now have to pay Rs 45 per month
                more to enjoy the same channels. The removed channels have
                been separately priced at Rs 40, Rs 30 and Rs 15 respectively
                for ESPN channels, Ten sports and BBC channels, " it said.
                The Zee Group company also said TataSky's customers would
                have no choice but to add on extra packs and end up paying
                higher to the service provider. The important events coming up
                are Euro cup in June, Asia cup in June-July and Champions
                Trophy in August, all this on the ESPN group of channels.
                Mehra, however, defended TataSky's offering, stating that
                after a detailed consumer research it has been found that a
                majority of people do not want to watch niche channels, which
                they would watch only periodically in case of some major
                events happening.
                They can still opt to watch for a month or more if they
                wish to. "We should not let the majority of consumers pay for
                something which only a few watch and that's why we have come

                Why is Tata sky not airing any christian channels, where as there are so many hindu channels airing free of cost. Is Tata sky against Minorities in this secular country..What syhould we understand about this and everytime we call ur customer care there is no proper answer to this particular question.

                we are having some problems with the viewing of the channels. the channels break into pieces n gets stuck. as a result of which we are not being able to watch any programme in peace and enoy it properly. earlier this problem used to come whenever it rained but now it is on a daily basis. kindly please look into the matter.

                south jumbo pack — not getting the channels

                we have recharged our dish connection. inspite of that we are getting the display of channels. please look into it, and kindly do the needful as early as possible.

                  They have unilateraly withdrawn TWO popular channels AMRITHA & INDIAVISION without any indication to customers.It is not an
                  easy job to replace this DTH provider and to go for a new one.Since once we decided to discontinue Tata sky, we have to suffer a loss of Rs 4000/-.I think this is an act of cheating customers with false promises .
                  Please tell me whether there any legal remedy for the losses once I decided to discontinue TATA SKY ?

                  Its really bad from a reputed company like tata to withdrawl two chanells, AMRITHA & INDIAVISION, unilaterally. We consumers are in a fix. Changing the connection cost is an expensive deal. Consumers should seek a legal remedy for this cheat
                  this is not the first time Tata sky is showing aversion towards south indian channels.Before i had quoted a point like the recharge offer(pay for 10months and get 1 year subscription), tata sky is giving for North Indian based channel packages.But till now they havnt responded.This time again they have withdrawn 2 malayalam channels.I strongly feel its the Tatas Strategy to attract people showing variety channels and putting them into a ditch by withdrawing channels once they start subscribing.This is high time to respond by the South Indian Customers to raise voice against this policy of TataSky.
                  This is the best example how few people can form a company and rob people. TataSky is virtually robbing people by trapping them with big offers and finally squeezing them with its third rated management policy. They need only money...no matter abt customer satisfaction or mutual faith and respect. In these days they are not answering to your enquiries...they hesitate to pick up phones. The hide behind the wall and wait for the next prey. I have filed 6 complaints but they have not replied for anything. Finally when I could contact a staff member in their delhi office, he says daily they get many complaints in this matter and he himself is planning to leave the company. This gives us an opportunity to judge about the status of TataSky. A wolf is always a wolf. It needs only blood...so this is the time to sort out a wolf and a goat.

                    I have the same complaint to make. I just got a TATA SKY connection for my parents only because they wanted to watch Amritha TV and the local cable wallah would always disconnect the channel or transmit it with a very grainy picture. When I contacted the dealer and TATA SKY about my desire to subscribe, NEITHER of them told me ONCE that these channels will not be available. On the contrary, when I told them that I specifically wanted Amritha TV and DD Podighai, they assured me that they were available and also sent me to the website to crosscheck. The website four days back did indeed say Amritha and DD Podighai were available and nothing on the website mentioned that these channels were going to be taken off.

                    I now have watched my parents enjoy Raga Rathnam, the amazing Carnatic Music programme on Amritha for the weekend and starting Monday, the channel was rudely taken off the air. Net result - amritha for which we spent 4500Rs on was available to us for the princely sum of TWO DAYS!!!

                    When contacted, TATASKY were not helpful, told me that they had published this information in the papers ( as if we have nothing better to do with our lives but scour the newspapers for information on TATASKY's latest rejects or additions!) and told me that there was nothing I could do about this.

                    I feel cheated and let down. Surely they could have informed me this when I called them for information about subscription, especially when I specifically asked for only these two channels. I cant tell you how bad I feel about this. Does the consumer have NO RIGHTS wahtsoever?

                    Please join me in responding with your own comments. No one can give us rights - we have to TAKE THEM. And the way to do it, is with our numbers. If enough o[censored]s protest, they will be forced to sit up and take notice. Otherwise, this callous behaviour will continue.

                    I too raised this complaint with Tata Sky and the response from them was that they had taken this decision after some survey, no sufficient bandwidth etc. It is really annoying to see this kind of attitude from them being a part of reputed group. I sent a separate mail again to [protected]@tatasky.com on the same issue yesteday. I am trying to see if I can get some contact details of their higher authorities, hoping they may reconsider this decision.
                    I have raised this issue to TATASky however, recieved a machine made response in the name of customer care executive with no help. Actually we were cheated by TATA, the most reputed firm in India. They showcased these channels to attract us and looted our money and dropped these great channels. The explanation was they have added a Bihari channel and Nepali channel free of charge. I dont what should a customer paid for South Jumbo package do with Bihari channels and Nepali channels. Only TATA knows the logic behind this. A regulating body should look into this issue or poor customerswill be cheated again and again by TATA.
                    I wish somebody at Tata-Sky is reading this! They are taking us, the consumers, for a ride, by hiking their fees ( or smartly packaging it by pulling off channels from air and then saying ''prices reduced") or introducing complicated packages every other month.

                    I was distraught to see Indiavision and Amrita TV pulled off without any warning, and also my fav sports channels ESPN-Star being now part of a "specialpackage".
                    Net- net they want atleast 400 rupees per family, per digicomp! Smart work, guys!! I am not recommending you to any. And when Bharti or Reliance moves in, I will move out too!
                    Hi guys like all of you I was also taken aback by this sudden exclusion of channels. It was very frustrating, it felt like we have been cheated and we could do nothing about it. Anways I decided to subscribe to the new add on packages for now and see later what can be done about this exclusion of channels decision by TATA SKY. When I dialled there number[protected] it kept repeating the message that the number you are trying to reach is on another call, the other numbers did not help either, none of the helpline numbers are toll free, the other numbers [protected] and [protected] accepted the call but kept repeating the stupid message of taking up wizkids plan for children. It didnot transfer my call to anyone even on selecting the desired option. I wasted around 30 buks on these countless calls I made but in no vain. I decided to go their website. While loggin in MY TATA SKy it kept on crashing, Some how mutiple logins and many crashes later I managed to subscribe to ADD ON packages but now I cannot log in the site, the server portal is down it seems.

                    This is higly disgraceful and shameful on the part of TATA SKY, its like selling drugs to people for free and then after they are addicted making them pay for it without choice.

                    And even if they wanted to do this atleast they should have place the infrastructre for helpline and website in place, now I do not know when my packages will get added. The helpline is not reachable so I do not know how to recharge it now.

                    I forgot to metion one thing, when the tata sky website is properly up again I intend to log an official complaint and in that complaint I will put the url for this page so that they can see for themselves how much praise they have gathered with thier lates action.

                    Tata Sky — Channels are being taken off whenever they wish!

                    I've subscribed to Tata Sky last year & my subscription ID is [protected].

                    I had already complained to their customer care department last week after Tata Sky has taken off 2 of our regional channels from Kerala, "Amrita" & "Indiavision". The response I got from Tata Sky was very funny. According to them, they have made a survey on these 2 channels & found that not many people are watching it & hence the Management has decided to pull it off. What is our fault if others are not watching it???! we are paying for it!!! why have they not deducted subscription amount if at all they want to remove such channels????!!!

                    I bought Tata Sky connection last year to watch World Cup cricket matches on Neo Sports & the moment World Cup got over, they have taken off these sports channels and made it pay channels. Now they are playing that dirty tricks again with other sports channels in view of Euro Cup which starts on 7th June & upcoming cricket matches in which India involves.

                    They add channels whenever they feel like & remove them whenever they want. We are paying a sum of Rs. 300 every month & if things go like this we will end up paying this money to watch only DD & some cartoon channels.

                    I've seen a notification from Star Sports, ESPN & Ten Sports on The Times Of India newspaper dated 5-6-08 that Tata Sky has taken off these channels on their own & they should not be blamed. Can somebody please act immediately & teach them a lesson. They know it can happen only in India...but Indians are not fools!

                    Can't we go to consumer court for this. This is absoulute cheating by TATA Sky.

                    I am also a subscriber of TATA SKY suffered the same. I complained about the removal of DD Podhigai Channel from the package. The call centre person says that DD Podhigai is an unpopular channel and based on a survey they are classifying it so. Please read the reply from TAta Sky. I have sent the complaint to tata Sky and a CC to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Till now no reply has been received.

                    Yesterday ESPN, STAR Cricket and Star Sports has also condemned the action of Tatasky for removing the sports channels from the package and making additional subscription fees for the same.

                    "In view of the above, we would like to inform you that as per the available bandwidth, Tata Sky is trying to balance the varying viewing interests of the subscribers on a pan India basis, in order to provide the best quality DTH service. Tata Sky has the interest of its subscribers and is trying to offer new and popular channels while dealing with capacity limitations.

                    It is Tata Sky's endeavor to provide its subscribers the best balance of content, and towards this we have added channels like ETV Bihar, ETV Rajasthan, PTC News and Nepal TV recently. When these new channels were added no additional charge was levied to our subscribers. Similarly when any channels are dropped, the price of the Packages remains unchanged.

                    In view of the above, we would like to inform you that Tata Sky has decided to drop the price of all the base packages by dropping certain channels. The details of these packages will be communicated to you on 01/06/2008.

                    Also, DTH operators are required to carry a certain minimum number of Doordarshan channels and the laws also do not require announcing the dropping of DD channels in a press notice, both of which is what Tata Sky has complied with.

                    Please be informed that the Public Notice advertisement regarding the dropping of these channels from Tata Sky has been released in National and regional newspapers on 05/05/2008."

                    I am a subscriber of Tata Sky DTH service provider. From the last month tata sky has stopped broadcasting the sports channel. It has created a seperate new sports package and is asking us to subscribe to this package by paying an additional fee.Since the fact is that we have already paid for these channels before creation of this package i feel that this change must be applicable only to new customers or for renewals only.Thus we are missing the important sports events.We feel that TATA SKY is cheating us in this regard.So I hereby request you to take necessary action in this regard.

                    I have spent over an hour on the recorded message waiting for the technician to anwser my phone.There has been no luck. This is absolutely pathetic!!!

                    Looking at your complaint, it appears that something could be wrong with your internet. The Tata Sky website is never down. Try accessing the site from some other computer. It is a very simple and easy process.

                    As you have correctly stated in the body of the message that DD channels have been moved to ACTIVE contradicts the heading DD is being removed. I believe viewing these channels in small screen may not fulfill viewing pleasure but these channel are still available. Action should also be taken regarding this but it will be of prime importance when these channels are removed. Besides I'm sure there are many more channel in south that are viewed leaving this one channel DD PODHIGHAI as it does not all day teleacst important shows infact Tata Sky has brough in lately NDTV hindu especially for south Chennai viewers.

                    I have recently renewed my Tata SKY Annual Mega pack with the promiseoOf all Channels & Services available except Topper. Without any intimation / Contacts like Telephonic Call, Email & SMS to the registered Ids, Active games Channel delinked and offered as Separate Service with Monthly fee of Rs. 40. Even no flash message available in the website as on today(Sep04, 2010) for this change. I gone for Annual Mega Pack based on my conservation and Promises on services by TataSky. No proper reply from Tata SKY. This is cheating and I requested Tata sky to offer / continue service for the existing subscribers without any delay. Please careful with Tata SKY.

                    Its frustating that tata sky does not provide any option to unsubcribe the pack or channel through any modes like sites etc.., We need to take severe action on the same.
                    I am also another suffering person under TataSky.. There have been lots of inceidents in the past and I'm sure Tatasky repository is full of my complaints, but to no avail.. The latest problem is the removal of Amrita TV and Kairali TV..

                    There are only about 13 Channels that I watch.. of which 2 channels are abruptly removed.. I have paid a full years subscription and I have 6 more months to go. I called them and they just indifferently answered that the channels have been dropped due to some internal reason (which is the normal response.. How helpful.. eh?). They will not refund the amount for the remaining months if I cancel TataSky..

                    I dont care.. I'm gonna get rid of this junk.. I'm not gonna keep junk in my house just bcoz i paid for it.. TataSky is OUT..!!!

                      YESTERDAY TATA SKY HAD DROPPED TWO MALAYALAM CHANNELS AMRITA & INDIA VISION WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. ON TAKING UP WITH THEIR HELPLINE, THEY INFORMED THAT DUE TO LOW VIEWER PATRONAGE BASED ON SUCH SURVEY DONE BY THEM THESE CHANNELS WERE DROPPED.

                      WHEN I WROTE TO THEM THAT I HAD CHOSEN THEIR DISH BECAUSE THESE CHANNELS WERE OFFERED & THEY CANNOT REMOVE CHANNELS MIDWAY THEY SENT ME A CURT REPLY SAYING THEY HAD ADVERTISED IN THE PAPERS & THAT THEY HAD REMOVED THESE CHANNELS BECAUSE OF LESS BANDWITH ETC & ARE WELL WITHIN THE LAW OF THE LAND TO DO SO.

                      THIS IS DOWN RIGHT CHEATING.

                      A REPUTED COMPANY LIKE THE TATAs SHOULD HAVE FORSEEN ALL THESE PROBLEMS ABOUT BANDWITH LENGHT BEFORE VENTURING OUT INTO THIS BUSINESS. HOW COME ALL OF A SUDDEN THE BANDWITH IS REDUCED ?

                      Tata sky is the worst DTH provider In india. i am from kerala.
                      i took tatasky i month before.I made a mistake because i did n't study other DTH Service. if i need Sony setmax + malayalam
                      channels i spend 350 Rupees per month. but they provide
                      only these channels -- Asianet, Asianet news, DD Malayalam,
                      Surya, kirane .Dish Tv provides around 10 malayalm channels
                      and sun DTH provides around 14 malayalam channels .These chanels available there statrter kit including Sony set max.

                      local newspapers in case the distributor of TV channels is operating in local area and in two national papers in case the distributor of TV channels is providing services in a wide area. Alternatively consumers can be informed through scroll on the concerned channel(s). Where a Broadcaster or a Multi System Operator decides to give this notice through a scroll the Multi System Operator or the Cable Operator, as the case may be, must carry the scroll in the concerned channel(s).

                          Dear Sir,

                          I have purchased a tatasky on 21.05.08 from your dealer outlet Associated Indo Vietnam Agencies, Pondicherry. They have committed that installation will be on tomorrow that is 22.05.08. But still now, i didnt received single call from your installation team and i have been really irritated by this activities. Also i am not informed too for the delay.

                          Please make your installation team fast and dont make the customers fool. Also i have been stepped down to your dealer outlet four times. But there is no proper response. I have been treated like nothing. Pls call me in my mobile number for further details. I want installation to be done today. Otherwise i dont want the product. I will straight away go to consumer court...

                            Hi All,

                            Refer to the previous mail which was sent to you last year... But there was no reply... Last month I got call from the ICICI Credit card executive on final settlement part... I asked him to come to my location for the discussion... I believe one Mr. Srinivas Reddy Visited, (his mobile no. [protected].)...

                            We had a face to face discussion with Mr.Srinivas Reddy, as well as telecon conversion with his boss, One Mr.Chandru (his mobile no.[protected])... Finally we came to the conclusion of settle ling the sum of Amount Six Thousand Five Hundred Rupees. Every one agreed & I made a cash settlement to Mr.Srinivas reddy.

                            Before making Cash payment I asked for settlement copy receipt…. Mr.Srinivas as well as Mr.Chandru said, you will be getting the cash receipt as an acknowledgement copy. Once when we submit the amount to ICICI. After a week's time you will be getting the final settlement certificate from the ICICI directly to your home….. This is what the Information given from your executives…

                            At the time of Cash payment I made the statement very clearly in the receipt saying "Amount is against the Final Settlement"…. Apart from this I have drafted the letter to the ICICI against your service as well as Final Settlement & Taken the signature from the executive who has come down to my place….. Saying if any problem occurs I will take the matter very seriously….. (Can find the attachment for more details)

                            Letter received from ICICI on the auto debit to the SB Account.

                            Instead of getting the final settlement from ICICI. I'm getting the outstanding amount pending statement…..                               sir i wanted to complain against the dirty tricks played by tata sky to loot customers. what they have done now is that they have added crucial channels like ESPN, STAR SPORTS AND STAR CRICKET to a new add on pck called "SPORTS PLATINUM" it costs rs. 75 a month .they already have a "SPORTS GOLD" PACK with NEO SPORTS AND NEO CRICKET in it. this pack costs rs.30 a month. total a customer has to pay is RS.105 only for sports channels on the cost of the base pack which is RS.250. they also have a "LIFE STYLE GOLD add on PACK" costing RS.30 A month and a "LIFESTYLE SILVER pack"(with channels like BBC in it) costing another RS. 30 a month. isn't it unfair to charge extra from customers for common channels like BBC, ESPN, STAR CRICKET STAR SPORTS ETC.( especially ...india being a nation which loves sports with cricket being of highest priority).
                              consider this, i have to pay over RS.400 to view just the common indian channels and not any international channel. isn't it unfair???

                              I agree 100%. Please do something, everytime they come up with new channels the end up charging a lot, and this time even without any new channels the price is going up. I used to pay Rs. 300 P.m. for there super saver pack and now for all the same channels in different pack i shall be paying Rs. 345 P.m. for the same channels!!!
                              TODAY I FIND THAT BBC CHANNELS ARE TAKEN OFF IN ADDITION TO SPORTS CHANNELS ESPN, STAR & STAR CRICKET. THEN THEY HAVE REDUCED THE PRICE. BUT THEIR SITE SHOWS ALL THE DROPPED CHANNELS AS PART OF THE PACKAGE.

                              IF THIS IS NOT CHEATING THEN WHAT IS IT ?

                              Tata Sky — Sports channels(ten sports&espn)not available

                              My ID id [protected] and not able to see any sports channels since two days back although these are indluded in the package.
                              TATA SKY simply doesnt care for its customers. They have chopped the four or five sports channels into three optional packages...!! What a feat !! calling it silver..gold..platinum and god knows what next. I am sure Amritha and Indiavision will return with labels of southern splendor or southern spice !! . Very soon they will start splitting even one channels into two pacakges !! you will see the left half of the screen in one package and if you want to see the right side you will have to buy another package !!.

                              You have to pay even for BBC which is a free to air channel all over the world !!

                              Time to give TATA SKY the boot !!
                              I agree to this. Tata Sky is looting customers like anything . They will be thrown out of the market completely when big guns like Anil Ambani enter the DTH market .                               I was using South Jumbo package for Rs350, which included the sports channels as well as BBC channels. Now if I want to watch all my original channels I have to pay Rs 380 - Rs 40 for the sports plus 30 for BBC channels plus 310 for the basic package. This is cheating.
                              I think we need to lodge an official complaint to TRAI, also with a petition in PetitionOnline.

                              They have pulled off the sports channels with big big events like EURO 2008 coming. I paid for the 'add-on' package for espn, star sports and star cricket but they still havent played the channels on my set-top box. What's more, their helpline numbers were jammed for a week and when they cleared today, they dont connect us to any agent, its a waste of time calling them. To stop getting bricks thrown at them, they have evn disabled their website, which is very hard connect to these days (not a problem with internet speed, many friends have experienced this). This is a clear case of looting and cheating.
                              This is harassing the customer.
                              Why don't the think of increasing the customer base rather that, getting money from existing customers. I do not think any body will take action against them. ESPNSTAR is issuing public notices, but will it help except realizing customers that how foolish they are with Tata Sky.
                              I had already complained to their customer care department last week after Tata Sky has taken off 2 of our regional channels, "Amrita" & "Indiavision". The response I got from Tata Sky was very funny. According to them, they have made a survey on these 2 channels & found that not many people are watching & the Management has decided to take it off. What is our fault if others are not watching it???! we are paying for it!!! whey have they not deducated subscription amount if at all they want to remove such channels????!!!

                              I bought Tata Sky connection to watch last World Cup cricket matches on Neo Sports & the moment World Cup was over, they have taken off these sports channels and made it pay channels. Now they are playing this dirty tricks again with other sports channels in view of Euro Cup which starts on 7th June. They add channels as if they like & remove them whenever they want. We are paying a sum of Rs. 300 every month for ordinary channels & if things go like this we will end up paying this money to only watch the National Channel.

                              I've seen a notification from Star Sports, ESPN & Ten Sports on Times Of India dated 5-6-08 that Tata Sky has taken off these channels on their own & they should not be blamed. Can somebody please act immediately & teach them a lesson.
                              I am totally furious about TataSky and its dirty tactics. The courts has ruled them to show Espn-Start Sports, but they are taking n12 days to fix it. Euro cup is starting today. In 12 days, it'll half way through the tournament. This is really depressing. I should have bought DishTV, rather than this one. Am i going to be suck like this? Just complaining and nothing happening in return?
                              In the garb of giving flexibility of choice, Tata Sky has very cunningly increased the subscription charges. I had subscribed to Super Saver Pack for Rs 300 per month. If I were to restore all channnels removed, I would end up paying about Rs. 35 more, i.e Rs. 260 for the revised cost of Super Saver pack plus Rs. 40 for the removed ESPN Sports pack plus Rs 35 for the removed BBC Channels.
                              Tata Sky had a few months back removed about 13 channels arbitrarily.
                              All this is sullying the fair name of Tatasons and I am inclined to swithch over to Cable.

                              Yes, I strongly agree with the comments my Indian friends have stated in view of their experience with tata sky.Tata being an Indian company is cheating people like anything.There shouldn't be any package system. Customer should be given the choice to choose their own channels with respect to their interests.Who is interested to watch all other regional channels which is available on local cable network which we get it for very minimal rate.This issue is to be brought to the media so that no one will again dare do like this. Indians ko kya bevkhoof samaj ke rakha hai kya ?Agar sara Hindusthan ek ho jaye na, yahan koi Tata Sky nahi chalne wala.
                              Even i my case i took my connection in 2006 and the package was known as Sports extra which includes ESPN, Start Sports, STAR Cricket, TEN Sports and DD Sports after that i paid extra Money for NEO Sports and NEO Cricket.

At one hand the Customer service represenative says that this happned due to some changes in software, then why is the customer being penalised for that.
                              I would request for the rectification of digi comp problem ASAP & also my daily debit to be waived off.

                              I find the packaging rather flexible and never have i heard or come across their machines being faulty or face other software problem..                               I had the same issue i had a south jumbo pack, and i wanted to subscibe for the same package. once again . i got a call from tata sky helpline Mr Anand and confirmed him that the sports package is not included, but he told to recharge for the annual subscription once done call back and they would activate the same package, the next morning i Recharged the account and for my shock found they are not ready for provide me the same package refused to make refund also .. pathetic service.

                              I have tata sky connection for over two years, now from last one week i am not balt to view two channels i.e NDTV Imagine and 9X. I have always recharge for annual package and had taken Add o package. Today i called tata sky customer care and they said they will charge Rs 350 for any engineer to come. Is it reasonable to give Rs 350 for two channels. Now if in future also if any problem comes again, then again i have to pay Rs 350. Tata Sky is not giving good service to old customers.                               Tata sky charges extra for all sports channel except dd sports. This is their trick as India is a cricket loving nation. So if you want to watch pay extra. Moreover they charge Rs.25 alone for ten sports as a separate package because it shows wwe.
                              If any new channel is launched, they make it as a part of some other package. So if you want to watch channels such as ndtv imagine, bindaas, 9x, zoom, colors or any other newly launched channels you have to pay more. Customers are not informed about these terms and conditions before subscription.
                              They even promise things such as educating children at home by using actve services. But in reality these services come and go, for ex: earlier they had feature of watching 4 news channels at one time but later on they disabled this service and didn't provide any replacements.They don't allow any new channel to be watched free of cost. As a tata sky subscriber I totally feel I am being fooled and looted.

                                I had sent the following letter to the CCOO of Tatasky only, to receive no reply, Wondering what has gone with tataSky.
                                The letter explains the problem clearly.

                                Hi,

                                This is in regards with the continuing problem of the channel offerings from TataSky and the rate at which they are offered.
                                People bought TataSky with trust in the name of the brand 'TATA' not knowing that they are going to face problems relating to it.

                                The Problem:

                                1. Channels that don't interest the customer are added, the channel count
                                is increased only to lure the new customers.

                                On contacting the customer care relating to this, all we get as reply is that
                                the channel is available only on customer's choice??.
                                Who chooses what the customer likes or dislikes? CC: Sir, we take surveys relating
                                to channels on regular intervals of time, Its TataSky who suggests us what to
                                show and what not to show.

                                We run a forum, where all the customers can login and discuss problems relating
                                to TataSky and this is the place where we even suggest a few people to choose
                                TataSky over the other competitors given the quality of video/ audio.

                                Not one member on this forum has said that they have received any such survey.
                                Where is the survey happening?


                                2. Channels that interest the customer are added to special add-on packs

                                Yes, this is happening. The customer care executive has another strange reply to that, 'Sir, the channel distributors give it as a package and we give it to u'.

                                We as customers would not mind the packages if they were designed to suit us. A person who wishes to only see some South channels and some sports has to pay for the full pack. Even if he subscribes to ur pack, the charges are unacceptable.

                                When these channels are available for free as FTA, Why do u put them under special packs?

                                Why are these free tp air channels not free??

                                TataSky receives a carraige fee from the channel boradcasters for putting them on the platform, Then why charge money from the subscribers?
                                U guys have not stayed away from sending us ad's via alerts, all ur active services are crap and filled with ad's, U get the money, The customer suffers.


                                3. Latest News: ESPN STAR, Star cricket moving to a spl pack called sports platinum pack, charged at Rs.75 a month.

                                When TataSky gets these channels at a much lower cost, why not pass the benifits on to the customers. TataSky decides whats good and whats bad for the customer, expecting the customer to take it just like in jail. It just does not make sense.

                                I[censored] removing the channels and charging them in a separate pack why not reduce the base pack rates by the same amount, The base pack rates only go down for a bit, the add on pack rates are always high. Simply indicates Tata is money minded.

                                No reason is still given for having removed 13 zee channels, Rate still staying the same. If TataSky removes something, the money is saved, TataSky earns while we suffer.


                                4. Speculations, Speculations, Speculations.

                                Nothing in TataSky is clear or transparent, All the policies are hidden, The customer care does not know one bit about TataSky, We are more updated about the happenings in TataSky than the customer care itself, We run a forum that is a

                                Given all the speculations that remain unclear, We the forum members have decided to start a hate thread against the service and have decided not to suggest anybody TataSky even when TataSky is offered for free.

                                We did suggest a few people, based on quality of service, It was bad but acceptable at that time, TataSKy claims its picture quality to be DVD, but has never understood the Term DVD quality picture and sound, We the customers accepted it.

                                Now the recent speculations on the channel packages make the same unacceptable, The quality is bad, u better take cable.

                                No particular reason is given for the removal of multiple camera angles, Highlights on demand for the IPL and the coming Australia west indies series, Only reply received, The content provider does not will to give, hiding the face that TataSky is not willing to pay for the same,

                                Revised Motto of TataSky:
                                We want more money, Not happy customers.
                                We want to lead the market, don't want to stay there.

                                Does not look like u want to stay there, as the big competitors enter, Tata makes a move that only leads to more customer disconnecting. Nice strategy! earn as much as possible before the launch of new services, then we will offer everything for free. Nice work Guys!

                                Make all this a part o[censored]r so much grouse website. It was never fun being on the website, There is nothing exciting.

                                Referral coupons are offered, But u need to buy through the customer care of TataSky at MRP, Does TataSky realize the discounts are available in the local markets. U have the STB in ur hand, and dont have to worry about getting it installed.

                                Buy it from the CC and have the tension of whether the product will be delivered on time, will it be in good working condition.
                                Let us all tell u, the programme is a failure. Get over it, Dont waste money on it. TataSky sure can make a fortune by it.

                                We were all happy customers, I[censored] dont realize, each o[censored]s in the forum have 1000+ balance on our accounts only trusting that no matter how bad the service is, we still feel it is better than the other providers. Now is the case where we deny this.
                                It has been the worst.

                                We will all be leaving happily once our balance is over. U guys enjoy our money. Thanks for making us realize, If it is Tata, stay away from it, even if it is free.
                                We can assure u one more thing, None of the forum members, TataSky Users are going to buy ur Nano car, We realize it now.
                                It may be cheap, but we are sure Tata has already formulated a way to cheat the customers and earn money from the Cust-se-mar (die of pain, customer). Lemme suggest u one, Make the engine run on a apecial fuel that can only be bought from Tata, Make money. Thats what u have been doing so far with TataIndicom to begin with, Now its TataSky's turn.

                                This is the point where TRAI needs to step in to preserve the customer rights, Can somebody make a petition for the same, can v do something about the problems associated, which is not a personal problem but a problem associated with 2 million customers. Tata as a product sucks big time.

                                For anyone reading this, do not buy TataSky or any tata product for that matter, Its always been a problem being a TataSKy subscriber.

                                When i was purchase the your product in December 07 i am not getting any discount or free monthly subsription offer from your side but at that on DISk TV are given 12 month free subsription but i have choose Tata Sky because i heard your service is little bit better than the other.

                                The proble is that in today all service provide other than the Tata Sky are given better quality and cheep rat.

                                So, i would like to request you that you must have to give some offers to your old customer also.

                                I completely agree with the sentiments shared by Mr. Kunal. I face similar issues. I'm paying more than rs 340 a month for 125 channels but I hardly watch 20. I've to subscribe to the complete package to watch my 20 channels. Sun Direct is offering all these channels at much lesser cost. Why can't Tata Sky bring down their prices. Why can't TATA Sky offer a package like 'pay for the channels you watch?'

                                I agree with most of the comments about TATA Sky, It is the worth thing to happen in India, Govt should take action on the owners and put them behind bars, TATA has a name and reputation but TATA Sky is real night mare. They just dont bother about customer satisfaction. No one will ever be able to contact thier call center numbers as they put you permanently on hold. They remove channels on thier whims and fancies put up a screen saying contact TATA Help line..? and they dont answer.

                                I opted for the top end monthly package and every day I see more and more channels going off...

                                Tata Sky is a complete cheat...They first discontinued all the signals from ESPN, STAR, STAR CRICKET, TEN & BBC...Nowhere it was mentioned in the tickers they were showing prior to 1st June 2008 that we need to approach customer care or the channels will be blacked out. Obviously after that all dissatisfied users would have started calling the customer care...So they ran away from that and shut down their call centres completely...I personally tried calling the call centre nos. since last 5 days for more than 30 minutes every time but didnt get thru. Sent them multiple SMSs to renew the sports package but I got an auto reply that they cannot fulfill my request. I wasted more than 1 months subscription on the calls I had made to customer care since last 5 days.

                                I am taking Tata Sky to consumer court...I would advise all Tata Sky subscrbers who have been frustrated because of this inexplicable move by tata sky to suddenly block all sports channels and then close all means of reaching them, to resort to legal action against tata sky. We atleast deserve 1 month free subscription to compensate for the trouble and telephone charges.
                                Totally agree Tata Sky cheated customer if any legal action or consumer court forum is planning I love to contribute my feedback and support the forum to teach lesson to them.

                                Day -1 experience itself had been extremely disgusting. It continues to be uglier...Is there a way to sue the company?                                 Tata Sky — Useless Customer Service

                                Hi,

                                I have to go through a pathetic customer service from TATA sky. I have been a TATA sky customer for more than a year.

                                Reason for Disatisfaction: Due to some work I was out of town for last 7 days and didn't get time to recharge my account. When I was watching TATA sky it went off due to my failue to recharge it on time. I called up your Helpline to check if you can give me a grace for a single day to use TATA sky. I was AMAZED to know that this is impossible. Your customer service cannot allow me to use it for a single day! I know, I will go ahead and charge this tomorrow. However, I wanted to tell you that your company is Worthless, Hopeless and useless. I will ensure that I inform at least 100 people that you have such a pathetic incompetent customer service.

                                I understand that this is not possible as you told me this is done by a computer. However, this was my comansense as a customer that it would be possible. As I am working myself in a customer support. Also I have been a customer of AIRTEL for last 3 years 6 months. And they have always assisted me.

                                NOTE: I will escalate this to higher authorities up their in your hierarchy. To tell them they won't be able to live more on this company and will lose to this competitive market.

                                If no acion is taken on this piece, I will switchover to any other brand in near future will ensure at least 100 people at my workplace, friends will be aware of this useless service.

                                On top of it after this complaint I got a pathetic call asking me if I want to discontinu the service. I said no "I do not want to!" as I do not have any other option but will have to keep that antena with me :-(

I have list of 75 customers of tata sky who are disappointed with TATA SKY service they are ready to join with me to take this issue to TRAI. So i am planning to add more people in this list .

                                First thing we have to come up with the list of customers who where not satiesfied with the service. then we will proceed further. so what you have to do is prepare the list whether they may be ur friends or relatives or neighbrs who ever using TATA SKY without satisfaction bring them in loop and send me the list.

                                dear frd tatasky provide customer service for it's viewer's but all my frd know it in india many people are not computer littret they do not use internet services. and tatasky provide only one toll free service that is tatasky.com it is not enough.

                                They are giving very less channels No B4U Music etc Zing Masti Music
                                I pay Rs 400 per / month to Dish TV platinum + UTV Pack + Neo Channel
                                I get almost all channels on my Dish TV
                                But on Tata Sky They are not giving even one music free channel in Economy Pack
                                plus none of pack gives Sports channel free you have to purchase them separately

                                Dish TV Annual Titanium pack costs around 3700
                                TataSky Annual Mega pack costs Rs 6000

                                I have decided to remain with Economy pack

                                  We a Mud storm in Delhi on 14th Morning and by the time I came from Office the Satellite TV had given up ...I called there call centre for logding the complaint ...and was assured that action by there engineers will be taken up in 24 hrs and payment for there trip woul have to be made by me ...!!!

                                  One day went by with no calls or intimation from them!!! i gave them call again ...there call centre says it would be sorted out in 48 hrs will is the sLA with engineers ...

                                  2 day went without there engineers bothering and I called them again ...these tata sky guys are smart you will have different person picking up the phone and showing ignorance about the complaint and asking for another day ...

                                  and above all this while these guys have been charging me despite the fact I am unable to avail there services ...It's time that these guys should be given a lesson and taken to consumer court for haressing me day after day...

                                      I have installed a tatasky dish tv. My Id No is [protected]. I phoned tatasky to register a complaint ( no 1-[protected]). I was shocked to learn from the person from tata sky that I have a personel dish, whereas, I live in a society where there is a common tata dish and my cable is connected to the common dish.
                                      I would therefore request that the individual dish be installed immediately.

                                      Today I also requested the TATA SKY service provider to add the LORD BUDDHA as well as AWAAJ INDIA Channel into their list. Let see when they will avails it. Otherwise I will escalate the matter to the higher authorities.
