Iam a Tata Sky ( DTH ) customer Since 03 october 2006. from the begining there was 8 malayalam channels. after a period of time they droped 1 channel ( india vision ) and the from 21st september 2011 again they dropped 2 more malayalam channel ( Amirta TV & DD1 malayalam ) at present only 5 malayalam chanells are available on Tata sky ( where other DTH services are providing more than 14 malayalam channels). even after several calls to customer care so far the’ve not done anything regarding my complaint . (So far I paid more than Rs.18000. as monthly charge etc). curent balance in my account is Rs.725.upto april 2012) so i would like to discontinue this service and get my money back if my problem is not look forward to.

I am at Chennai and a TataSky customer for nearly 5 years.
It is a bit disappointing to know that TataSky dropped DD Mal and Amrita. I have emailed TataSky on:
- that the number of Malayalam channels are now reduced to 5, where as other regional channels are much more
- I haven't got any kind of intimation on dropping the channels

They called up me and told that they might review their decision. And offered me that, they don't have any plans to cut any further channels. If at all they do, that will be intimated in advance.
After 2 hrs of this call, I found that Kairali channel also been dropped. What a scene.

They are not giving any good reason for doing this. Also, not adding any new Malayalam channels.

Bit frustrated with this attitude.

Looking for an alternative now.

If they dont restore the discontinued 3 malayalam channels immediately ( Amirta TV, DD1 Malayalam & Kairali ) better stop this service. better buy another DTH iam going to do that.

Tata Sky is resorting to cheating and there are many more complaints like these being faced by many. Government should appoint an arbitrator to look into these unreasonable marketing tactics being adopted by companies - ( unable to believe the Tata can adopt to such unhealthy practice )

I am also very disappointed with this. Even Tata Sky says they have the right to add or drop any channels, the do charge for adding channels. But I don't think they do minus any charges for removing the channel. Now I think Tata Sky is not the right choice for the malayali viewers. and unfortunately in "INDIA" this normally happens to the people of KERALA. most of the time under privilaged. I dont know when this attitude is going to change. :(
Govt should introduce MNP (mobile number protablty) like policy. So that customer can change service providers with out changing digicomb . Most of the customer already invested their money to digicomb thats the reason they are not changing service providers. Once this system comes, tata sky will loose its customers and revenue.

I am thinking of dropping TATASKY and opt for cable service which is near by if your attitudes doesnot change.

dear friends please complain to the tata sky every day by email or phone. and also they supose should not cut DD1 malayalam channel (as per india goverment rules ) what i had that they are going to restore all the malayalam chanele with in weeks they are working for it. so please continue complain.

None of these explanations are valid for this action on Tata Sky's part. Here are the reasons and you will know how illogical your arguments are and how other DTH operators are handling this much better than Tata Sky.

You mentioned about viewing pattern and preference of people. I see it can change, but tata sky should know how to cater to balance this. Is it justified to reduce Malayalam channels from 8 to 4 over a period of 3-4 years where as you are increasing other regional languages? Most of your competitors (like Airtel, Big TV, SUN, Videocon) have 10 or more Malayalam channels. I simply don't understand your logic of taste and preference and Tata Sky is not the only one catering to variety of viewers.

Tata Sky is not the only channel to have HD channels, nor the first one as well. I'm not sure why Tata Sky has to mention about HD here and trying to justify removal of Malayalam channels. How is the other providers giving HD content and a providing variety of options as well? BTW, 7 asli HD channel is false claim. In fact I got trapped with your HD marketing and I lost my favourite channels.

I don't get the logic of removing three malayalam channels in the last few weeks and introducing other regional channels. Why don't you remove couple least watched channels in the same regional language and add more if required instead of penalizing only malayalam viewers?

Bottom line is that you don't have bandwidth as you are using old technology and you are penalizing customers for no mistake of theirs. I request you to restore Malayalam channels. Please have balance approach for regional language channels. Most of the main regional languages have 10 or more channels, where as Malayalam channels have gone down from 8 to 4. Again, all your competitors have more than 10 malayalam channels and they seems to catering to the same India audience who has taste and preference !

Please stop providing standard answers and get the act together to resolve it.

I request all my tata sky friends please stop using the tata sky and send the set top box antina etc to their head office. or all we make a complaint to the consumer court.

Tata Sky — Not respond your customer care

My Tata Sky DTS is closed, I'm talking about the last three days, Tata Sky Customer Care, I have not received a reply, but never satisfied, Tata Sky will soon be my turn to be moderate request.

Can't view kannada channels

Our kannada channels are not telecasting since 2weeks, and your telecallers are nt responding.. and they are just giving ah fake promises tht evrythng will b normal frm past 15days. will you telecast Or shud we complait yk consumer care

To stop the HD channels

Despite of my complaints, TATA SKY HD channels are provided in my TV and charged extra for that.Customer Care should help us but they don't even pickup the calls. Please do something. Sub.ID:-[protected]

All channels are not in operation

I was trying to make call on toll free No. it was continuously busy for an Hr. My all channels are not in operation. Also to register complaint I tried to SMS 'NS' on 56633, there is always messages failure.

No signal.

Today Whole day, the tatasky service has stopped T.V.shows NO Signal. Since last 4 to 5 hours, help line[protected] has also been non responsive/Not available. Request restoration of service at the earliest.

Regional Telugu channels not shown

My Subscription ID NO-[protected], last one and half month regional Telugu Channels Not seen properly, so many times i have call your customer care but no any response, so please look into this problem and kindly solve it.
