[Resolved]  Tata Sky — Tatasky cheating Malayalees /Keralites

I have also one of the affected and taken up the matter several times with Tatasky. They promised to provide alternatve channels in
place of Kairali and Amrita. However nothing happened so far.

The major problem the Malayalees face is that we do not have a common platform to air such grievance. Protesting individually
sitting some corner of the country do not have any effect on a Corporate. We should find out a common strategy to fight such
injustice. As one of the affected person mailed, tomorrow some other DTH providers will follow the same tactitics.

I feel that we should write to the Minister concerned both in our State and Central to air our protest. We should also ask various
organisations representing Keralities to write separate letters to Tataky with copy to Ministers concerned in State as well as Central.

The first thing to do is to bring all together and lodge a collective protest. If you are a holder of large number of email IDs of the Keralites, please seek their opinion. Global Malayalee Assocation may be of great help.

Dear All,

All people loving our mother language are requested to put maximum pressure on Tata Sky irrespective of the fact that whether they are individually affected on not. Tata Sky has already talked to me for a reconciliation of taking back my money or to wait for a short period to reinstate Malayalam channels.

However this issue has now grown much beyond. I have categorically mentioned that now I am not just concerned about getting my personal money back only. All affected people should get back their money. Similarly in case of waiting for a short period to reinstate Malayalam Channels, Tata Sky should define the duration of this short period.

I would appreciate all people loving their mother tongue to declare solidarity with us. Please copy this solidarity to [protected]@tatasky.com; [protected]@tatasky.com also.

Since I did not get any satisfactory reply at all I am going to take the following actions:-

First of all this matter will be circulated among several groups consisting of lakhs and lakhs of members belonging to Kerala encouraging them also the protest against this discrimination to Malayalam by Tata Sky.


Along with that Tata Sons & Tata Quality Management Services will also be contacted with a request to take corrective action of this unfair practice of a TATA group organisation.

And if not resolved this matter will be taken to the consumer court.

No reply has been received to my query. I paid an annual fee based on 5 Malayalam channels ie., DD1, Asianet, Asianet News, Amrita and Kairali. The saddest thing is that after I made this payment your sales people continuously used to call me to upgrade my package by paying another 1100 rupees. However, they kept silence regarding the plan to drop my preferred Malayalam channels.

As of now I am finding the Tata Sky connection at my home as useless. I reserve the right to ask for refund of money collected from me along with cost of equipment taken at the time of installation.

Keeping silence to my query is not a solution. I need categorical answer and action.

Tata sky is gradually removing channels after collecting money on yearly basis from me. When I made annual payment Malayalam channels Amrita TV and Kairaly TV were part of package. These 2 channels are frequently viewed by me. At first Amrita TV was dropped. Now Kairaly TV is disappeared. After taking money reducing the package at your whims and fancies is not a fare trade practice. Ravindranathan

TataSky — TATASKY CHEATERS

My id is[protected]. There is no toll free number. Each time we are made to wait for 20mins with some useless message and finally the customer service give a damn when we ask why all off a sudden sports channels have been blacked out. I have paid the annual subcription fee of 3500 South Jumbo. Why should I pay again for sports channel separately. TATA doesnt mean you can take customers for granted.
My subscriber id is [protected]. Tata Sky never thinks about the customers as they keep on taking the advantage of the people, they know very well that Indian people can do anything to see cricket and see they charge extra for each sports pack mercilessly. I think local cable operators are far better because you will be able to watch the sport channels without making any request but TATA Sky wants only money. If i start looking, to be honest Tata sky doesnt shows half of the channnels which we should at least deserve because we pay 300 per month and that also lasts for 20 days and that too without most of the channels.

So if you want to become a Tata Sky customer and if you can pay Rs 500 per month or little more than that then you can get some benefits. I still think they have cheated by lying during their launch. Did you notice? When they were lunching they alrady used to talk about the features of Tata Sky plus and those rewind and record things were highlighted before and when we took it we go nothing and I realized we did a blunder my murdering our local cable operator services. They gave us a satisfactory service for 15 years and today I am kicking myself. Tata Sky sucks.!!!
TATASKY is a disgrace to the TATA Group as far as Malayalees are concerned. When all the other DTH service providers can provide all the Malayalam channels, why can't TATASKY ? The only plausible explanation is that the person who makes decisions about the channels to air is
blatantly anti-Malayalee.
