[Resolved]  Whirlpool Refrigerator — whirlpool forcefully sells faulty product

I bought brand new whirlpool refrigerator (MasterMind 260 Litre elite model) from Dass Electric Trading co.(P) Ltd, wanowrie branch pune on dated 9 March 2008 .
From the day one of delivery, I am getting ELECTRIC SHOCK from the body of lower door of this refrigerator and I complained to DASS as well as whirlpool customer care support with Complaint No: 4825.
After a day whirlpool engineer(Mansoorkar-:[protected]) visited to my place and he himself observed the electric shock and concluded with the fact that it is manufacturing defects you should replace your refrigerator.
After that i approached to DASS with this problem and had spoken to its Manager named Bhuvnesh([protected],[protected]/24) and he sent his senior engineer/manager named Riyaz[protected]/36/37) to investigate this problem but again he even could not find out any solution to this problem and so relentlessly replied with shrewdness that this is normal and low voltage electric shock that is not hazardous so bear with this but DASS AND WHIRLPOOL WILL NOT REPLACE THIS REFRIGERATOR.
Finally I again requested to DASS Manager, Bhuvnesh, as well Whirlpool service centre senior engineer name Anil Patil([protected]) to replace this defective piece of refrigerator but they abused me and even threatened me for consequences.

I am continuously calling to whirlpool call center and there some senior lady named Shifaa already aware about all this but she said she can't do anything.

Basically they all know very well this is defective piece and sold this out to customer anyhow, which they did and now they are trying to mesmerize me .

I request whirlpool senior executives to come upfront and provide me justice.

I already sent my grievance to whirlpool: [protected]@whirlpool.com l.
I would not be satisfied until and unless they don’t give me replacements and if this not done within a week I will copy and file my grievances to CONSUMER COURT as well as telecast this to CNBC Awaaz channel but i wont let them to escape up to my last RIGHTS.

I Purchased a Whirlpool refridgerator on[protected]at [protected]@ Co, Chennai-17 vide Bill No. [protected]. The fridge was deliverded in two days. the service people from whirlpool came after few days and installed it. it was in working condition only for about 2 months. slowly the cooling effect went down and was completely not working from 09.08.2010. we tried to contact the customer care .but to our dismay we were unable to contact them . on 13th i received a message from TD WOIL stating Marimuthu is allocated he came and said that compressor is not working and then replaced it . it worked only for one hour and then it was worn out. the fridge was smelling and no cooling.
we have faced alot of agony and hardships by purchasing your whirlpool fridge.
next another message was received from whirlpool with V.Suresh allocated this job. Today i contacted the customercare one person by name rajitha attended she said she will do it with top priority. the person V.Suresh came and collected the bill copy.

i want the refridgerator to be replaced immediately.

I was unfortunate in purchasing a whirlpool refrigerator, A/C and washing machine from Good Morning agencies Alleppey. All the Machines failed whithin one month... It is found that all the Machines have spurious second hand parts. When contacted Mr. Visakh their man in Cochin office threantend me to go to court and his behavior was like I am a criminal. His language was unbeareble.This pained me more than the failure of the Machine.Later on I found that he is king pin of a racket of selling second hand Machines. They had taken my refrigeraotr for repair and billed me Rs. 2400/ saying that they changed the condensor and the freeser.Mr Visakh thereantend that if I want pay the amount and take the Machine or go to the court . I can prove that it is not the same machine that is now deliverd after repair. Anyway I hope that no other person should have such a fate of buying whirlpool machines.

I purchase a mastermind refrigerator(220 ltr) from M.B.Traderes, Siliguri, W.B on 26.09.09 . The same was installed by your engneer, he advised me that it was stabilizer free refrigrator no need purchase additonal stabilizer. On 06.012.10 the problem of sparking sound, your eng Ratan Sarkar, Siliguri, W.B, services charges paid Rs.280/- for his visit and now your engneer advised to purchase a stabilizer. My question is why so, if your product is stabilizer free, and Siliguri has very good constant electricity supply experience, please advise me or send your expert eng to check actual problem of your product, really i have so much faith your company product.

I purchased a 220 mastermind whrilpool refrigerator on 26.09.09 from M.B.Trader, Siliguri, W.B, the same was installed by your engineer, it was going on well on 06.12.10 I have a lodged a problem of sparking sound, then your engineer Ratan Sarkar visit and made your services and paid us Rs.280/ . Then your engineer advised us to purchase a Stabilizer. As every body know that Siliguri a very well constant supply power city . My question is if your product is a stabilizer free product then how your engineer advised to purchase a addtional stabilizer. My earnest request to check the actual problem with your product, why it require a stabilizer support of stabilizer free a well brand Whrillpool product. Kindly send your expert engineer please to find the actual problem. We are not satisfy your advise please.

Whirlpool Refrigerator — No action on complaint

Undersigned has purchased Whirlpool Refrigerator on dated 16.04.10. refrigerator (which is in warranty period) was working properly no defect noticed .But on dated 07.01.2011 refrigerator suddenly got ignited, and whole room burns out.where he placed.
Complain lodged in whirlpool agency (Complain no-LK [protected]),and city representative of the agency visited the place and seen all the things on dated 08.01.11.and promiced to replace the refrigrator immediately.but after passing of 3 month no action taken by agency.and no one is agree to resolve my problem in spite of making a number of calls to custmer care no and local city representative.please help me.

I bought a Whirlpool Fridge Fusion - 180Lts from PAI International, Yelahanka, Bangalore, a year ago. On Sunday 20/03/2011 the fridge went not working and the same I complained to Whirlpool CC. The technician came on Tuesday and wednesday replaced certain parts and I paid Rs 3075. Again the very next day on 24/03/2011 morning, the fridge went not working. The same I reported to Whirlpool CC and CC assured to send a senior technician in 2 hours. It did not happen. Again I contacted, CC assured to send before 11:00 AM today. I kept contacting CC until now, it is vain. I am surprised at the ridiculous service.

April, 2010, purchased from M/s Bagyaa Enterprises, Triplicane, Chennai-5.


With reference to the above I have to state that the above referred fridge was purchased by me @ Rs.19850/- on 16th April 2010. From the day one the fridge is giving so much trouble and your mechanics have come and changed some parts and made it to run. But to my unfortunate again the fridge is not making any cooling and again I have complained 5th time within an year of purchase for not working of the fridge. This time also your mechanic came and changed the parts and made it to run. I do not know how many days it will work properly. To make additional burden he has suggested and to change the stabilizer also and I have changed it. At a cost of Rs.2300/- for model DMN-VX-1305D (where the MRP itself Rs.2300) WITH OUT ANY CONCESSION IN THE MRP Rate. Where as all the other companies are extending concession from the MRP rate. Unfortunately the same Duro Max stabilizer is recommended by your company. I have already entered for 2 years AMC also.

In the light of the above I am informing you that there is some problem in the (manufacturing defect) in fridge what I have purchased, and all the time your service men are coming and changing the parts in the fridge and going with out telling the actual fact. Hence I am requesting you to advise your Madras Chapter to replace the unit
Before the expiry of warranty period which falls on 15th April, 2011. Other wise the unit
Will be surrendered by me to your Madras Office at my cost (free of cost) and I will go far new one from other brand like Godrej or LG.

I left it to your choice. Hope to take some decision as your Madras chapter is not all hearing and they are interested to push your products irrespective of the condition on the poor public.

REMINDER and Final request




With reference to the above, I am pain to state that I have not received any reply from you. A phone had come from your office informing that the technicians will come and check the product. So far your man has to come.


I am pain to state that from yesterday night onwards the unit is not functioning even as suggested by your man to change the stabilizer.

In the light of the above, I am requesting you to change the unit by new one, as I do not want to keep show piece in my home at the cost of 20000/-, when the show piece is available for 50 rupees.

Hope you will advise to change the unit. Failing which the unit will be delivered at your Madras (Chennai) chapter at my own cost on 16th instant and I will be forced to proceed thru consumer forum for the loss and constraint.

I bought a Whirlpool 180 Supreme fridge on 27/8/2010 from one of your retailers, Jayasruthi Enterprises. Soon, I noticed that the light does not switch off automatically when you close the door and the alarm goes off continuously. So, the foods inside were not cool enough. I complained thrice and the matter is still not resolved.
The third time (complaint#27483/[protected] the service technician cut a small portion of the freezer box (without our permission) to alter the height to fix the problem. This was a rather crude method to fix what seems to be a manufacturing defect. When contacted the Service Manager, Kumar, spoke to me rather rudely.
If required I will email all the pictures of the damage caused by your service technician.
I request you to replace my fridge.

My complaint is regarding the poor customer service provided by whirpool india. I had registered a complaint with whirpool customer care on 01/05/11 regarding poor cooling of my whirpool refrigrator. Till today no engineer visit has been done.After 01/05/11 i had to follow up for engineer visit every day in morning and evening with an assurance given to me by customer care that the visit will be done in next 24 hours. Nothing happened. Today out of the blue i received a SMS that my call has been closed as the engineer has reported that the work is finished. How this is done I am not sure might be whirpool customer care can tell? as no engineer or anybody from whirpool has visited me or bithored to call me up

Now we are facing the same problem again and logged another complaint DL[protected] regarding the same. I am very upset to see the response of concern person because whirlpool is well known product and I always prefer this product.

I am Jai Prakash & I purchase a refrigerator of whirlpool with 5years
warranty on the date 28/02/2008.But a problem was appear in
thermostate regulator on 10/06/2011.So i contact to nearest service
center of whirlpool in Sohna distt.Gurgaon (HR). The service man came
to repair the refrigerator then he demand 500Rs for replacement the
part & service charges.But the main question arise there are what
means of charges in warranty.

Whirlpool Refrigerator — Pathetic Service

1. On 27 May 2011, I registered a complaint that water leaks when I pull out the vegetable tray. The SR number was CN[protected]

2. On the same day, a technician Senthilkumar came and informed me that the sensor and the timer has gone faulty and by changing these the problem would be rectified. I paid Rs. 3500 for these and the service charge of Rs. 340. In all good faith, I also gave the customer satisfaction code assuming that the problem would be rectified.

3. After a day, the original problem of water coming out of the fridge when the vegetable tray is pulled out again happening.

4. So, I called again on 28 May and complained again. This time I was given a new SR number even though the problem is old. Ideally, they should have re-opened the old ticket. But a new SR number was given CN[protected].

5. This problem was again assigned to the same technician Senthilkumar on 30 May. No one called me or visited my home.

6. On 31 May, I got a SMS stating that the ticket has been closed !!!!! How can they do this without attending on the ticket. It really beats me. When I called to find out why this has been done, the guy on the phone told me - ALL TECHNICIANS ARE BUSY AND SO WE CLOSED THE TICKET.

This customer service is pathetic to say the least.

I hope whirlpool take these complaints seriously and take proper actions.
I PURCHASED A REFRIGERATOR, MODEL ELECTL EDL284EG, FROM M/S VIJAY SALES, DELHI. THE PIECE SUPPLIED BY THEM AND ON COMPLAINT THE SAME WAS REPLACED BY THEM ON 19.10.2010. IT IS DOUBLE DOORED REFRIGERATOR. THE MAIN DOOR DOES NOT SHUT PROPERLY. YOU ARE REQUESTED TO PLEASE GET THE DEFECT RECTIFIED. THANKING YOU IN ANTICIPATION.
