Hi, I am writing this after a long thought. we have been working in importing and retail selling for a almost two years and have had my ups and downs on dealing with courier companies. however while dealing with DHL we faced major inconvenience and thought of writing this review to let other users know how unprofessional DHL has been in dealing. Very Frankly Speaking, Just Simply Avoid DHL even it might be the LAST option in the world to Send or Import your Consignment. Forget about Legal point of view where a company is bound to provide the services to a customer when it takes responsibility of a consignment, the company doesn’t have any MORAL or ETHICAL values when it comes to taking a responsibility when they themselves know that they have goofed up big time. Our case was forwarded to NATIONAL LEVEL SENIOR MANAGEMENT and even then the Company failed to acknowledge the issues even when their senior management agreed to the same. We as a Company have proceeded LEGALLY against the same with DHL and are pretty sure that Law will help us in our case, but going Legal will not be possible for each and every customer. Imagine a Situation when a company throws all its Moral and Ethical Values in Garbage with a corporate client like us, what it can do to a individual customer. Even after Acknowledging the fact that there were infact problems at their end when we provided written proofs for the same, the company failed to take any corrective actions and further screwed the consignment. Since it was a big shipment for us and obviously there were incidental losses also involved because of their delay, we finally decided to go legal against the company. All in all, Money is something which everybody can earn, and recover also if somebody cheats you, there are Legal channels available for each and every Citizen of this country, What astonishes and Shock us as an individual and as an company, is that how the company Puts all its VALUES at Stake. The day a Company has to drop to such a level, we can simply say that its better a Company shuts its shop and go home. World would be Much Better place without them !!!

    Few weeks before i ordered Lenovo S860 in Hongkong..DHL put this shipment on Hold.they asked a letter to clear customs.i sent a letter and KYC documents..still no reply, i wrote a email to DHL officials but no use..its my second experience...i[censored] send a Dead body by DHL, they will eat it and Blame the Customs and sender's Invoice. see their email below... This is further to the below email. ************************************************************************* We have informed our clearance team to process the shipment at the earliest. They shall contact you in case of any query raised by the customs. We have made a note of your feedback and same has been shared with the Clearance Manager to take necessary measures. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. Please let us know in case of any queries or concerns. ********************************************************************************... MY first experience in 2012 January: I purchased two mobile phones and a printer in 2012 through online.the seller shipped them by DHL.My location is Chennai..Goods shipped from Hong kong to Chennai.after paid for phone and shipping charges the seller sent goods.it reached Bangalore in 3 days..DHL people called me and said, customs hold your shipment... i asked them why?..then they said, "we need your letter to do customs clearance, so i sent letter by email.after that there is no information..every day i called them, but no use..the total value of the phone is Rs.82, 720..then i learned that, few dhl people took the mobiles for their won use.and blame the customs officials.

      Last month during may we migrated to Melbourne, Australia. I was referred to DHL by my friend who used the services to Perth, Au 6 months back. I took the quote from Rajavelu from DHL Hoodi, whitefield branch in Bangalore and they gave me the Door to Door service quote including clearance charges. We shipped more than 250 Kgs of household items and it was packed in the presence of DHL team, they put the items in box after removing many items after inspection. I must admit they were co-operative, however, they are doing very little to co-ordinate and figure out the things with Australian DHL counterparts. The consignment reached Melbourne Airport.WE never heard from anyone for 10-15 days. Then Australia DHL team sends a mail to pay $287 towards clearance of goods from Customs and quarantine charges if any. When I checked the details and breakup form, the DHL AU team is charging admin fees for inspection and clearance charges if any. We are very frustrated with this whole process and email exchanges that have taken place thus far. The create a helpless situation to ensure that you pay this amount as DHL here just asks us to handle custom process if we do not pay. Also the complaint forum in DHL website In India ( which claims to provide help from Director or VP customer service also is a service that does not fix your concerns but again argue on these basis.

        I ordered for 2 tshirt's online and they were to be shipped by DHL. Waybill number for same is [protected]. They have by error put the courier in Cargo mode and now are not able to deliver due to customs issue. The online status says that it has been delivered to a broker. I need help on it. I have already escalated matter to the concerned authorities but i am not getting any response. I have followed up with 15 different customer care people and gave them 50 calls in last 1 week but am not getting any answer from them. They are not telling any Estimated Time of Arrival or anything else I will like to initiate a legal case against DHL for same and will like to know next steps for it. Since the shipment address is of Bangalore Do I need to file a case in Bangalore or Can i do it from any part of India? I will appreciate a quick response.

          Hi Sir/Ma'am, I had to receive a shipment from USA which had 2 item of different category on which different duty needed to be charged. But a higher duty was charged wrongly as DHL has specified wrongly to the Custom department. On contacting DHL executive they were given one absurd reason after another. This all is happening in spite of them charging a high amount of custom handling fee. Please help Thanks & Regards

            After sending my college transcripts through DHL Express twice in the past two months, I have lost any faith I had in the quality and efficiency of their services. Twice, despite having provided the right address and paid the required processing fee of Rs. 1190, the documents have been delivered to a completely different address. Since this is the second time it has happened and as it is directly affecting my career, I am seriously considering suing the company for damages.

              Hi, I had sent a doc to South Korea on 29th and was promised by the company it'll reach the destination on maximum by 2nd April'13. But its 5th april today and no one has any clue where my doc is stuck, the status showed "shipment on hold" since last 4 days today it says "With Delivery Courier". My airway bill no: [protected]
              They blame on wrong address which is not the case here. Ms. Pooja Gha from Mumbai dealing with my case is being rude when I call.
              I have no clue where my important doc are now and whats the status with its delivery?
              Spending so much and I am not even getting a proper reply from these people!!

                Dear Sir/Madam,

                I want to register a complaint against DHL Courier services, Kazhakuttam, Thiruvananthapuram – 695582 Kerala.
                • Bad Service provided by DHL SERVICE: I went in person to send the gift to DHL OFFICE mentioned above in Trivandrum on[protected] as informed by their personal.
                • VERY LATE DELIVERY: Watch was delivered on[protected], while I was promised a delivery on[protected].
                • Damaged condition of the gift on delivery: The Gift reached the recipient on 17th Feb, in a damaged /irreparable condition.

                I had approached the DHL division PTC Tower, Opposite Federal Bank, Bye Pass Junction, Kazhakuttam in Trivandrum on[protected], for sending across a courier to my fiancée in Dubai. I had enquired with the personnel in the mentioned branch on Friday (08-02/2013) to ensure the delivery of my item on[protected] if I am couriering the item on[protected].I had also checked with them if I had to provide a packing for the same, and they ensured me like they will do the packing and I just need to come up with watch (item).
                I was informed that my item would be insured for RS. 2000 (Please find attached the copy of the same) and that I had to pay Rs.1996 for shipping. Based on above agreement, I was under the assumption that my gift will reach there in time[protected]. But then I didn’t receive any information further and when I enquired in the branch they responded by saying that they were not able to track the progress. There was no proper tracking in their website as well and the status remained same for 3 days.
                Until 14th there was no response from DHL and on 14th morning onwards I had to repeatedly call the customer care to check the status of my courier and I was kept on false impression that the courier will be delivered in just one hour and finally in the evening they just blankly said that it’s impossible to deliver it today.
                Finally on 14th evening when we tracked the way bill number we came to know that the good was shipped to Germany from Bangalore. Upon further enquiry with the DHL, they told that all goods shipped internationally goes via Germany only even if its Dubai.
                Whenever I had raised my concern to DHL customer care(executive) always kept on asking me to wait patiently till an action is taken and I saw no action taken till date, even not a complaint registered on my behalf which was send across to me via mail as a, which was not the expected service.
                Multiple Times I tried to contact them to track the progress and to ensure the delivery at least but then finally when the courier was delivered on 17th Feb 2013 after all this SAGA the condition of the gift was pathetic. It was damaged beyond recognition.
                Once I called them to report the condition of the delivered gift, the same executive was asking me if I had any proof /pictures to claim that the gift was in good condition. Will any customer take so much time/effort to ship a broken watch to Dubai? When I asked the procedure for getting back the insured amount, they just send me an email (same attached) and I saw no action taken till date.

                I hereby request to take necessary action against DHL courier services TRIVANDRUM for the irresponsiveness shown, worst customer support provided and for denying basic rights of a customer. Please help me get amount/cost of the amount RS 3996)-Attched the invoice.
                Hope you would understand the time I had to spend the whole of the week in tracking and enquiring about my courier and above all my situation.

                    DHL has hundreds of hidden charges .

                    i ordered an item from a global online store worth 1700 rs approx and pid another 1000 rs for shipping . The item was a gift for my friend.
                    the item falls well below the customs/ duties charges because i made sure i read up about the limit. Gifts upto 10,000 are not charged duty. the online store also marked it as a gift but DHL held it for customs check for almost 4 days before even contacting me. And now for no fault of mine they are charging me warehouse charges of 60 per day plu charges to get the item through customs . WHEN THERE IS NO NEED TO as the item is only 1700 and a Gift . So the person im gifting is getting a bill on delivery and has to pay an amount as close to the gift itself. Im am so embarrassed i wnated this to be a surprise gift and I hear about all these extra hidden charges DHL charges . I was shocked to find similar incidents by hundreds of people online saying the same thing . Please take some action on them.ask them to put it on their website all these hidden charges instead of shocking people later .and they should get their facts right and know the customs laws and not blindly ask money for clearance of an item that is not ven dutiable in the first place

                      Respected Sir,

                      This is to invite your attention to an experience which needs to be urgently looked into and intervened by you. I had bought an advanced bicycle in 2008 from Schauff Gmbh of Germany for a price of 1373 euros. It served me quite well till recently when some technical problems developed. I tried to have the bike repaired locally but mechanics here are ill trained to handle such a sophisticated hardware. Therefore I decided to send it back to Germany for proper repairs and service.

                      DHL couriers agreed to transport the bike to Germany. There operations in Kolhapur are handled by Blue Dart, and their local representative-one Mr Ram Jadhav-inspected the goods. He also carried out a proper assessment and informed me that they were willing to carry out the shipping for a price of Rs 16000/- with Rs. 500 extra for packing the goods properly. I agreed to their offer, issued them a cheque for the requisite amount and turned the bike over to them for needful. The problems began after this. After picking up the consignment of 13th April it was sent their clearing facility at Mumbai. The bike remained there for several days thereafter. My persistent enquiries would yield flimsy excuses, since all customs related documents were furnished by me promptly whenever they asked for them. My case was then turned over to one Ms Lalita Singh who is based in their Poona office but handles all these operations. She assured me on 21st April that all was well, properly attended to and my bike should leave for Germany on 22nd April, 2011. So after and prolonged delay the bike did actually leave their Mumbai “facility”. I was relieved at last but this proved short lived. Within hours of checking its progress on the web on 22nd April 2011, Ms. Lalita called up and sprang a nasty surprise on me. She suddenly declared that the bike was not correctly weighed and its “volumetric weight”, according to a formula devised by their company turns out to be 20 times what it was found at their Kolhapur office! This necessarily entailed-so she announced-an escalation in the freight charges. She threw upon me a demand of a whopping Rs. 1,59,000/- I naturally protested saying that the sum now quoted is ten times of what I was initially told. And it was obviously unacceptable. At this point she started to argue with me on telephone. She argued that this is the company policy and I shall have to bear the additional charge quoted by her. I naturally asked her why did she not check up with me before sending the bike on its onward transit. She would have none of this and in stead wanted to point out that she could not be available to the all customers all the time. Surely a tenfold escalation in charges requires confirmation by the consignor! She then threatened me that the bike would be held up at their warehouse in Germany unless these charges are paid in full.

                      You will appreciate that they had all of seven days in which to check and confirm whether the consignment was correctly weighted at Kolhapur. And I was calling their local manager twice a day to enquire about the tardy progress. They could have easily told me that the freight quoted to me earlier was being revised by such a huge scale! I humbly submit that no company policy allows its officers to keep customers totally in dark till the last minute and suddenly spring such a nasty surprise on them AFTER a fit accompli-the bicycle had left India-clearly crossing a point of no return. In fact the amount quoted by them is twice the original price of the bicycle. What is more a personal visit to Germany and carrying the bike in personal luggage would have worked out cheaper! My pleading with Ms Lalita fell on deaf ears. I do not know whom to turn to,but have been advised by Indo German Chamber of commerce -I had contacted them in this connection-to contact you.

                      May I humbly to request you to take up this matter with the appropriate authorities and redress what is clearly gross injustice and mismanagement meted out to me by DHL couriers?

                          Our machiery supplier has sent some parts on Friday 24th Dec 2010 by DHL, they have international account with DHL. The machine parts were very urgent for us, as our two machines were under brakedown due to parts which were sent by our machinery manufacturers in Taiwan. Today a delivery man Named Uday came today around at 12:30 pm, he asked our office person for the payment of Rs. 2720.00 by cheque, so our accountant told him to wait only for 10 to 15 mins, as he has to enter AWB details in our software and print the cheuqe and signature of two partners, its a normal process of 10 - 15 mins. Mr Uday told our accountant that he has to deliver some other consignment nearby our factory in dadra area, so he will come agains within 30 mins. But when he didn't came till around 4:00pm, our account again called him (Uday) on [protected] and requested to deliver the consignment urgently and also informed him that cheque is ready. But the deliveryman Uday refused our accountant's all requests and rudely reply that at any cost i will not deliver the consignment today, i[censored] want to complaint higher authority u can! So we called vapi office and contacted mr umesh on telephone no. [protected], he also not agree to deliver the consignment today and replied us very badly. Due to non delivery of the parts consignment we will have to suffer too much loss in production and our export shipment will also delayed.
                          Except DHL INDIA, all over the world it has good service. but only in India all DHL people's behaviour is very bad and non professional.

                          also note our same complaint from Bank of baroda against our Track no. [protected], Bank Of Baroda Umbergaon branch against Mr. Vipul, He also talk very rudely and also asking for Rs. 1500/- for deliver to our Umbergaon branch, however DHL earlier send delivery to our branch on 07.01.2011. Given him full earlier details also.Today Mr. Vipul rudely talk and also said that if you will give me Rs. 1500/- (under table), as our consignment from Dubai and it is fully prepaid. If we are not agree than hwe also said that he will send back consignment to UAE???????????
                          I think that DHL is not providing salary to their employees, so their employees talk rudely with the customers and ask customers to give money for delivery or i think that now DHL no need for business.
                          I request you to please lodge my complaint with reply to me on my e-mail on aepl.[protected]@gmail.com. For your information i also go to the consumer forum as i recorded phone call of Mr. Vipul. If you guys not reply me within 06 hours on my mobile [protected] than i will put all in trouble in court as well in media also.

                            Today ( 11 Nov 2010) finally i received my Courier on 5:15PM

                            It takes 6Days from DHL Delhi office to Customer premises
                            Its 10KMS away from my Residence . It takes 6 Days.

                            VERY GOOD < KEEP IT UP<
                            VERY EARLY & QUICKLY U CAN TOUCH THE EARTH.

                            I pay Rs.2976.00 to your person but where is the Govt Duty pay slip (Orig Custom slip) and this is the Wi-Fi product , so all Internet products are Duty free or veryh low duty on it. And specially mention on its INVOICE which come along with courier upper Packing ( your service personal can given to me the same.) :- Its for Testing Purpose & not for Sale / Commercial use then How DHL demand Duty from me.

                            When you don't have the Vehicles & delivery staff then why are you book couriers.

                            I received a call in the noon on 10Nov2010 when i am with a Doctor and i said to your personnel come after ONE Hour only or drop to my mention Address then how he given remarks on the Trakiing system : Recipient refused delivery.

                            and Last day on 9 Nov. no body visit on my premises (i.e. Residence) He given remarks : consignee premises closed , May be he was sit in his own home.

                            And when i complaint for your services then you told me for Custom duty otherwise you are sleeping. There is no question to pay Duty to you.

                            Thats DHL Service,

                            On next time i request to my supplier don't send thru DHL.
                            I don't like too smart Couriers.

                              My name is Aparna and I was expecting a parcel from Italy through DHL (my birthday present) consisting of a mobile phone and 2 artificial jewellery. I was supposed to recieve my parcel on 04-08-10 and when i called the DHL customer care to enquire regarding the delivery time the customer care excecutive told me that i will have to pay a sum of Rs.10,987/- as the duty charge for the parcel. on further enquiry he said that DHL has already paid the amount and i cannot collect my parcel until i repay them the full amount.

                              When i asked him why i wasn't told about this charge before DHL decided to pay it, he simply said that its not his department and i need to inform customer care ( which was him).
                              If i was informed about this huge duty before DHL decided to pay it on behalf of me , i would have asked them to sent it back to italy.
                              And my friend in italy was charged a bomb and was assured that i wouldnt have to pay nothing in India.
                              I feel that DHl is trying to exploit their clients by charging this absurd amount in the name of duty without even consulting the client.

                              And one more thing, on[protected]previous day) when i got a call from DHL to inform me that i will get my parcel the next day, he mentioned that customs clearence is over and no duty has been charged.

                              DHL — Stole money

                              I sent a mail with DHL containing 270 euro. when it arrived 150 euro was missing. This was the first and most certainly the last time I'll DHLs "services". Don't know what to do in a situation like this, I mean DHL must be the ones held responsible right.

                                I agree upon this too. Even i got this type of mail regarding appointment letter and all those sort of . this person Barrister Roger moorie should be hanged till death
                                I received this type of offer letter. Please take strict action to stop all these thing.

                                  sir we have one complaint that we courier one packet to brazil but they not received that packet till now
                                  because they charge 100$ for receiving to that person. but the DHL courier servise told that u charged rs.3000 that we pay on 8.11.09 that the bill we attached plz find the attatchment . But when we find the bill over writing without our permission, and now they charged 100$ for that which we have not...

                                  Dear sir

                                  Now it over 10days i had not received the parcel by ems the tracking code is ee[protected]cn the tracking details shows it still with customs i dont know what is happening it arrived to mumbai customs on 2nd september 2009 but still they hadnt released the parcel as per the tracking record neither they informed me about the same.
                                  Please advice what shall i do now

                                    I was charged Rs 1088 for shipment air waybill (university express) by SHUTTLE EXPRESS, 4(GF), Rajendra Place, New Delhi-110008(Ph: 25748998, 25748084,[protected]. While it is clearly mentioned over DHL website that the cost is only Rs 990.
                                    They gave me a bill(MR 13766) of their shop but refused to give me Shipper,s copy of DHL bill saying that DHL has now stopped giving copy to customers. He just gave me the tracking no-[protected], which when did not work I called them and they changed it to [protected]. Also on asking about increased charges they said DHL has recently increased its charges and this amount of Rs 1088 is after 50% discount.

                                    They are clearly making fools of customers by overcharging. My request to DHL and consumercourt to kindly look into this matter.

                                    I want to warn everybody. Please do not use services of this courier agency. This person is a cheat and fraud. He will charges you high rates but the courier will not be delivered on time. And when you will call him instead of checking the status with courier company he will give you useless excuses of his own. He will shout and use filth with customers. Don't believe him when you go for booking he will be very sweat but later he will show his true colors. If you don't believe me, you can check with DHL authorized branch on first floor of same building. They will also tell you that he is cheat and fraud who abuses the customers. DHL please cancel his agency.
