wrong prescription & cheating the patients

I am 65 years old and regularly using reading glass for more than 10 years & visited dr. Agarwal eye hospital, tambaram in april, 2019 for my routine power check up before changing the glass. Hello!
I'm writing this to caution others about my bad experience with the agarwal eye hospital salespersons in periyar nagar branch.

On 15th june, me along with my parents visited the hospital for my mother's eye check up. Dr. Sridhar was whom we consulted and he suggested us to purchase a new specs as my mother's eye power has increased to +2 from +1.5.

Initially we thought of purchasing it somewhere near our house, but later decided to purchase it in the hospital thinking that it would be of better quality and there would be no problem.

So we ordered lens alone for my mother as she was already using a specs and so thought o[censored]sing the same frame.

I thought of purchasing a eye protection glass for computer usage as i was feeling some kind of pain in my eyes while viewing electronic gadgets for long time.

The sales person present there was srinivasan and sathish. They explained to me regarding a lens called crizol uv protecia which they declared to have 8 benefits. They showed me a newly ordered glass of some other customer with uv protection coating and also explained how these glasses protect eyes from harmful uv rays with the help of a machine which projects uv light. We were very much satisfied looking at that displayed lens and ordered for the same. Here i need to bring to your notice that they never mentioned the cost of the lens. Later i chose a branded frame for the lens which was close to rs.4000. The total bill amount was rs. 8500. We paid advance of rs.3000 and left thinking of paying the balance amount at the time of delivery of the specs. They assured us that the glasses would be ready within 3 working days time and asked us to collect the glasses on 20th june.

So i went to collect the glasses on 20th as per their confirmation through phone. Here comes the most important part to the experience. Sathish was the one who was present along with another sales person at that time.

Sathish gave me the glasses which they have prepared. After wearing those glasses, i felt very uncomfortable and actually it was a hindrance for my eye sight. Since the glass i ordered was for prevention of eye strain while working on computer, i was very disappointed with the glasses. Also it seemed to be just an ordinary glass without any coating (I know this because earlier they had showed me the proper uv protection glass at the time of ordering).in order to clarify my doubt i asked sathish to take out that uv projection machine, so that i could check if the prepared glass is filtering out uv rays. At that time, he turned away from me and was checking the glasses, standing in such a way that i'll not be able to view it. But unfortunate for him that he was standing in front of a mirror. I noticed the reflection from the mirror which clearly displayed that uv rays are not blocked by glasses. The beauty is, after noticing that there is no uv rays are not blocked, sathish lied to me saying that the lens is uv coated and there was no problem. Later i asked him to check it in front of me, which he obliged with hesitation and was caught red handed.
Note: uv coating was not there in both mine as well as my mother's lenses.

Is agarwal eye hospital willing to take risk of employing such dishonest and disgusting persons as their salesperson to ruin their reputation which has been flying high for so many decades?

Later they accepted their mistake and assured us that they would bear the remaining cost of the product which was once again a false promise.

I had to pay 65% of the bill amount in spite of being cheated. Is this the way such a reputed medical hospital staffs treat the patients?

Another major request to the agarwal management team is that please employ staffs who value their words. Sathish along with srinivasan assured us that the properly prepared lenses would be delivered within a span of 3 working days, but the harsh reality is that we received the product after 12 days of advance payment.

As a regular customer to your reputed hospital, i'd like to suggest to the hospital management that while opening a new branch, please ensure that the staffs and other people working there are well qualified and have basic work ethics. People like sathish and srinivasan will be a burden to your management along with their in charge the periyar nagar branch manager who was not at all aware of all these problems but emerged from no where at the time of delivery of product after me and my ailing mother was waiting for 12 days, instead of accepting their mistakes was arguing in favor of sathish and srinivasan and he was the one who made us pay 65% of the bill inspite of getting cheated.

I wish to see severe action taken against sathish who is the prime cheater in this case.
Next action need to be taken against srinivasan who without consulting with me (Customer) billed a low graded lens with less protect, when i was expecting it to have complete protection from harmful rays and later blaming us that we had ordered the low graded version due to high frame cost which is a pure lie. What more? He called my mother a lier when she was trying to explain that from the beginning, we wanted lens with full protection. Is this the way people behave with customers who are old and in respectable position?

Last but not the least, i wish to see some serious action taken against the periyar nagar branch manager for his lack of action against his cheating subordinates and his attitude towards the customers and his failure as a manager to monitor and keep the problems in check.

We as customers approach this reputed agarwal hospital in the belief of good treatment and services for the customers. We as customers don't doubt the work ethics and the honesty of doctors and other staffs. But incidents like this, creates a everlasting doubts in the mind of the customers which is not a good sign for any institution.

I have the video of the involved salespersons accepting their mistakes on their side and assuring us of free delivery without balance payment which i initially thought of attaching with this but later i changed my mind as it would bring dishonor to the reputed institution like yours who have been treating the poor and needy for free. I salute to your commitment and social service.

Still i have hope that agarwal management would ensure that justice will be served by providing proper punishment to the cheaters so that they will never ever think of repeating their mistakes again even in their dreams.

    lack of cleanliness

    Dear sir,

    Me & my wife went for eye checkup for my wife on this day 02/02/2019 to this agarwal's eye clinic at miyapur alwin cross roads, madinaguda, hyderabad.

    I used the toilet where i found shocking things like the flush is not working, no tissue paper, no hand wash and the floor is very dirty.

    It was very pathetic to use such a toilet.

    This is the hospital where the basic cleanliness...

    I had this experience in agarwal eye hospital ttk road alwarpet chennai. At the beginning they treated good and guided well. But when i opted for tamilnadu chief minister medical claim they showed there real face.. The day we applied for cmc we started losing respect. We had to chase 2 to 3 times everytime for get things done.. They dint breif the producers properly. But when we paid in cash the case was different. This could be only my experience....

    poor patient care and worst service

    I am a doctor. Visited Thiruvallur branch Agarwal with foreign body in the R eye. Had severe irritation. The receptionist told me that they couldn't attend me bcoz the had lot of op. I wish she could have some responsibility over the patients. Worst health care seriously. I have never treated patients like this in my lifetime. Big failure.. shame on you people for treating patients like this. The way she told that she couldn't take my case...

    time delaying and cheating patients

    I am patient of dr agarwal eye hospital, cuttack, odisha. I am coming from bhubaneswar to cuttack by its name as a national chain of eye hospital. But sorry to say that the patient sitting area on the ground floor near cafeteria and patient sitting are in first floor is very less air ventilation as there are less no's of fan and airconditioner. Some fans are there but not working. So sitting in the patient waiting area feeling much more irritated. My kind request to take necessary action immediately for keeping priority to the patient satisfaction.

      Hi,
      My name is dr chinnappa
      I am the son of mr s r lourduswamy.
      My father is 78 years old and underwent cataract surgery at aggarwal eye hospital in tambaram in 2016.

      He underwent the catract surgery in 2016 and complained of declining vision after the surgery and he was not taken seriously.
      He developed opacification of cornea and has lost complete vision.
      He is traumatised to such a extent that he is not willing to go anywhere near the hospital.
      We further consulted the shankara nethralaya who suggested that he has developed complications from the surgery and needs a corneal graft, again my father was not keen to undergo anymore surgery.
      His eyes are deteriorating.
      The procedure has affected him physically and mentally as he cant see anymore.. And his other eye is also deteriorating and does nt want any operation.

      I would like to highlight our experience with your esteemed eye surgery clinics in chennai.
      I am seeking compensation for the complications from your hospital.
      I am expecting a reply to the mail...
      I have left with no choice than going through the civil court/ tn medical council / consumer court.

      I went to avadi Branch and bought 7k glass. They cheated me and glass was worst. Don't go pls and waste your savings.

        I have high degree of respect towards medical profession and the professionals. This post is not a grievance in any way. While i am not critically complaining, i would like to cite my experience of visiting dr agarwal eye hospital at aundh pune so that users can take an informed decision.

        I visited their opd to meet an eye doctor. I was told over phone that there’s no appointment system and it’s first come first serve. This is a bit poor practice in today’s world where people as busy.

        So like older days one needs to go early and claim your number in the slot.
        I was told that doctor shall arrive by 5:15 5:30 but doctor arrived by 6:15 so there was a very long wait.

        In the meantime i underwent several checks by several doctors but the one i wanted to meet. The doctor whom i wanted to meet did not spend much time with me and it seemed he relied on the reports made by juniors.

        One final concern i have is that you don’t get to see the result in presence of doctor, you have to leave the room and you get the final report about your vision at the reception. This is weird because by then you have already left the room and now next patient is in, you cannot discuss anything if you have any queries or concerns on the final report.

          My Name is Depna, I finished my Law, I'm a employee of Dr.agarwal eye hospital vellore, I have exams pending, so I asked leave to the manager Mr. Prakash before 2 months that I have 24 exams. He said OK ma you cry on the work, so I don't get worry of that, my concentration turns to work, in before of one week of my exam also he didn't tell me anything so I asked to him, for that he that his line is busy ma wait, then after also he didn't tell me anything, I thought that if he dnt tells means my leave is granted. On[protected] I asked him sir, tomorrow I'm going to thirupathi sir, what about my leave sir, then he called to Mr. Anand and he asked then he told no ma only 10 days we'll give leave, you talk to Mr. Anand sir if he's OK na you take, then I called to Mr. Anand asked about leave he said me no ma we can't give leave only 10 days we can give, so I told him OK sir.. I call back and I cut the call, then I make a call to Mr. Prakash and told these the thing anand sir telling sir, what will I do sir.. He said OK we will discuss on 7th of march you come on 7th,

          Then I went today once the manager enters i asked about this to manager, he said no leave above 10 days ma.. Then I said OK sir I'll resign it by speech, for that he told today anand sir coming after consultanting him we will decide, in the mean time I know Hr Mr. Ravi so I make a call to him I asked sir I have exams for 25 days, I took 1-6th of march then I came today tomo also I'll come then from 9th to 25th of this march again I need leave sir, Is there any possible to take leave for these days Sir. He said me that first you go through your leave then you talk ma, for that I told sir I'm not at all taking leave for the month I'll take 1 leave other than that for the govt holiday comp off I'll take leave apart from this I never take leave sir.. So, He said surely Depna you can take leave ma for first 2 days you apply leave to adrenaline after that you apply for 20 days with the brief reason and also attach tour hall ticket ma, dif. You'll get leave ma,

          Then I told that sir I talked to the manager and Mr. Anand but they told there is no possible to take leave that much, then he told me wait ma, I'll talk to Prakash and I'll call you back, then he called me back and he told on behalf of business, what ever ma you have to ask Prakash to grant your leave, then he cut the call

          After a hour I talked to Prakash sir, that shall I talk to Anand sir, he told why talking give me the resignation letter and you go, I told why I have to give sir, if there is no way means I'll give there is a way na sir, then why I should I give, for all you wont accept or for me alone we can't accept leave, for that he's telling yes of course for you alone I won't accept, you are fit for the job, you are giving business, bla bla bla.. After that OK anand sir is in upstress na I'll talk to him.

          I went to upstress and talked to anand sir, these are the things was happened for these Mr.Prakash saying like this, that time I shown the hr. Ravi talked recorded voice, after that he make a call to Mr. Ravi and putd with loud speaker, he's totally changed and talked some true but more lied.

          Becoz of the thing I record the voice, voice can lie but recorded voice can't lie, I'm a advocate o have a evidence of all.. Then only in the future I won't get any problem.

          After hearing that I switch the recorder in before of them suddenly by harshly Mr. Anand said for this reason I can terminate you, your hair comb is not good for the reason I can terminate you, Prakash give a letter of termination, tomorrow onwards don't permit in the office, for that I don't tell anything


          After a short tym I called to toll free Num Mr. Yuvaraj attend the call, seriously his approach is very good. His pleasant talking is very nice. I said each and everything to him, he told me to give a mail to [protected]@dragarwal.com

          I'm a straight way person, I don't like the false statement I need a good solution. In future none of the employee should get as like this.

          2 months before informed thing that I'll need leave for 24 exams but in before of one day also they dnt give a answer to me. But immediately they easily saying that you are terminating by the reasons of on spot recording and your hair comb is not good.

          In the case of they can't give the leave means they can say, that we can't give leave in that time I asked, if they say in previous itself na, I'll quit my job on that time itself.

          But they don't tell me anything in before of my exam also, Mr.prakash told me to come on 7th march 2017.. But on that what had to them I don't they easily telling that I'm terminated.

          This is not a good way to approach the employees, I sent this mail on[protected] but till now I don't get any response from Dr. Agarwal eye hospital

            BAD SERVICE

            I visited Kolathur branch(My ref # 002573) for testing my eyes and changed my specs which has not solved my purpose. The power prescribed to me was terribly wrong.             Free Eye check up Hoax?

            My mom and dad went for checkup in this eye hospital and they said it was free. The report for both said they had cataract that had to be operated as soon as possible. Later my parents went to Vasan Eye Clinic for checkup (paid) and the doctor over there said there was no cataract and nothing to worry and infact do not touch the eyes.             I visited Dr.Agarwal Eye Hospital on Sep 5th ,i did all of my eye testing and it seems my lens power got changed,i went to there optical and ordered new frame with corrective power ,after one week they given me the new glasses,but i am shock to see that the power which they put on the lens is changed and i could not able to read letters clearly with new frame,i raised this complaint to them and they sent to me Doctor to retest and this time Doctor told me like the power somewhat got changed last time,i was shocked to hear from this from repuated Eye Hospital.Once again i handed over the new frame to them and put proper lens with corrective power and finally i got the glassed by 21st sep.I have waited nearly more than 20 days to get a glasse from Agarwal Eye Hospital.To me frank i was really upset.It's better i could have checked my power with any local opticals.Concern people need to look into it.

            I Agree that the service and charges are very cheating folks.
            Very darn service and they will charge much for a small treatment and even it will get cured. I am asked to visit alomost all the doctors in the hospital for after all Madras eye i got. Every doctor charged alomost 200 Rs and it costed me nearly 1000Rs for that and didnt get cured. The same got cured by a nearby doctor in Choolaimedu for 50 Rs eyedrops and 30 Rs service charges. It got cleared almost in 2 days. The worst charging hospital it is and not sure how come they will serve middle class public!!
