Hi dtdc,
I had a very bad experience with your courier service. your company charges extra money for premium delivery (dtdc plus) but don't deliver it on time. courier which was sent on jul 4th 2016 (monday) from andhra pradesh has to reach bangalore by jul 6th 2016.
As per the details from customer care, its mentioned in your database that the recipient door is closed which was the reason for not delivering on time. for your information, the delivery address given was office address which is open 24/7 on business days.
However after i made several calls to almost all the branches of bangalore, as well as head office dtdc bangalore, also branch manager (white field - bangalore) mr. venkatesh - i could not trace where my courier is roaming in bangalore since jul 6th 2016.
Later i had to personally travel to 4-5 branches are ask them where my courier was.
Finally on july 8th 2016, out of no where the delivery boy called me on the same address. after enquiring the reason for delay in delivery, he had to explain me that "he is sick and couldn deliver on time".
Having being a reputed courier service in india, it is the responsibility of the courier service to hand over this consignment to a person on duty / or aren't the delivery people trained to inform the same to the customer?
Charging higher amounts and not delivering the courier on time is a great risk to customer satisfaction. i wouldnt recommend either my family, friends or colleagues to utilize dtdc courier for emergency cases.
