I PURCHASED A SF EXIDE INVERTER BATTERY ,ON 06 /10/2010 FROM M/S POWER PAK OTTAPALAM, A DEALER FOR THE ABOVE MENTIONED BATTERY.THE SAME STARTED GIVING TROUBLE ABOUT 7 MONTHS BACK.THE SAME WAS TAKEN BACK BY THE DEALER ON 15 SEP 2012 ALONG WITH THE GUARANTEE CARD,AND SENT TO THEIR MAIN DEALER AT ERNAKULAM THROUGH THEIR TRICHUR BRANCH.AS NO ACTION TO REPLACE THE BATTERY WAS FORTHCOMING AFTER ONE MONTH ,I TOOK UP THE MATTER WITH THE LOCAL DEALER. HE INFORMED THAT THE SAME IS LYING AT THEIR TRICHUR GODOWN AND WILL BE REPLACED WITHIN ONE WEEK.HE PROVIDED A STAND BY BATTERY FOR THE TIME BEING.AS NO PROGRESS WAS SEEN,FOR 3 MONTHS, I WARNED HIM THAT I WOULD APPROACH THE CONSUMER COURT. AS THE COMPANY HAS NOT SENT THE BATTERY TO ERNAKULAM IN-SPITE OF HIS REGULAR REMINDERS ,HE GAVE ME THE COMPLAINT NUMBER KHO 00005080 DATED 25/9/2012,AND ASKED ME TO CONTACT MR SUBASH,THE SALES OFFICER([protected]),WHO GAVE ME THE MAIL ID [protected]@exide.co.in AND ASKED ME TO SEND THEM A MAIL.I SENT THE MAIL TO THEM ON 15 NOV 2012 (BY THIS DATE I WAS WITHOUT MY INVERTER BATTERY FOR MORE THAN 3 MONTHS) .IT IS SURPRISING TO NOTE THAT IN-SPITE OF MY COMPLAINT ,THEY DID NOT HAVE THE COURTESY TO EVEN SEND ME A REPLY.A LADY RANG ME UP THE NEXT DAY TO ASK ME FOR THE CODE NO OF THE COMPLAINT .I FAIL TO UNDERSTAND AS TO HOW A WELL KNOWN COMPANY LIKE EXIDE CAN TREAT ITS CUSTOMER IN THIS MANNER ,EVEN WHEN THE COMPLAINT IS WITHIN THE GUARANTEE PERIOD .IF A BATTERY IS LYING UNCHARGED IN THEIR TRICHUR GO DOWN FOR THE LAST 3 MONTHS ,IT WILL BECOME USELESS EVEN WITHOUT ANY DEFECT.
