I purchased a new Godrej Refrigerator on the eve of Newyear. When it was unpacked by the service people for installation and demo it was found damaged--dent in the door and side wall of the fridge. The Company people tried to convince me saying they would replace the damaged door and side plate to make it look good. As the dent was found at the time o[censored]npacking the brand new fridge I pointed out that it was supplied in damaged condition and I refused to accept it and wanted replacement. Then the Company told that the dealer from whom I made the purchase would arrange for replacement. When I contacted the dealer they told it was the company who would attend to replacement. The matter is being dragged on for more than three weeks with no result. In the meanwhile, many visits were made by the company people to inspect the damage and take photograph but there is no indication either from the company or the dealer regarding my request for replacement.

It is high time the Indian consumers should be protected from such harassment by the companies and the Government should enact laws to make it compulsory for the companies to replace such damaged goods immediately when it is returned by the consumer. Such facility is available in US and other countries where the consumer is free to return the goods within a reasonable time if not satisfied with the product even if it is damaged. When the Indian Corporates follow American system of management and run their companies like Americans, why not they follow this policy of Ameerican manufacturers?

    hello,
    My parents purchased Godrej refrigerator for Rs14500/ on 29.6.2009 from Next retail shop Ferozpur Road Ludhiana.Just after ten days of its purchase it had sound problem which was informed to service station of Godrej co. model gram ldh. They send Mr.Sunil twice but he could not identify the problem.Therafter one another person was sent he also did not provide satisfactory work.Thus one year expired and another person came he said gas needs to be filled and asked for money for filling gas and that to with gurantee of three months only. It means New Godrej refrigerator needs to be filled with gas after every three months.This delay has occured due to no service provided by service station and they just lingered the things and warranty period expired.My parents were harrassed unnecessary Now they want that company should replace the refrigerator immediately and corect piece to be provided as it is not athentic to get the gas filled in New refrigerator after every three months.so I am writing you so that you ask service station people and we should able to get correct piece of refrigerator.

    I have a new split A.C of Godrej 12FE3, i purchased before 1 week, ie., 20/03/2011, the problem raised on 23/03/11, i registered the complaint on 24/03/2011, they sent the technician by 31/03/2011...
    Is it a Good Customer Service???
    How can i prefer their product to my neighbours..
    I purchased it from the TAMBARAM VASANTH & CO.But from the third day there is water leakage in the indoor unit. spraying water continuosly.I called to customer care and my complaint no.were 444883.there is no proper response from them they are like DEFF.i called them for more than 20 times.after one week they sent the technician.he just opened the indoor unit fully he just played like a toy and said there is no fault in the machine.but i dont know where the leakage is coming from.technicians could not detect the problem.i spoke with Mr.Vijay Chennai Incharge for godrej.he is saying that he will be coming to see the problem.if he cannot detect they will send some person...like this it will go on...what shall i do now...

    Customer Care is not working properly...
    Technicians are good & the company is not utilizing them properly

    this complaint has been resolved without any payment also gave an additional warranty for 6 months company officer from chandigarh branch personally visited the customer.

    Customer always knows to write the complaint but never blogs the solution done to his her complaint. but a pathetic condition for any company, that they will do each and everything to resolve the issue but customer never gave thanks after the complaint is resolved

      Re Midnight burning of Godrej Window AC 1-5 TON.,

      I have purchased 1.5 Ton window AC from Godrej Ltd . One night when was sleeping , in the midnight the AC caught fire and not only it destroyed it self , it destroyed my curtains , window and house by big flames and suffocation to me. All in the mid of the night when I was alone,

      Both my complaints are ignored by both of them . May be NIC is bribed by Corporate Godrej for not taking up the complaint.

      The officers of Godrej are wreck less and insensitive. The officers are low level personnel who refused to even provide higher levels of management e-mail address nor they were sensitive to Godrej reputation being spoiled by a defective produst . The officers wanted 80% of cost of repair , i.e Godrej wants to make money out of disasters and possible loss of human life.       I am told by both Mr Sanjay and Mr Devanand that Ms Godrej Boyce wants to make 80% money on a midnight going up in flames Godrej window AC purchased recently. They said it is final Godrej offer for a Godrej Burnt airconditioner , which happened in my sleep at midnight and by god's grace I had a miraculous escape. TILL today there is no concern shown by Godrej in keeping me assured of product supplied and safety.

      I am not convinced about the offer or satisfied with it and I want a more responsible response from Godrej , by taking responsibility of Godrej manufactured product which has gone utterly wrong.

      They have also DID NOT provide me with access to Godrej - Director - marketing and CEO, by E-mail address to enable me to have their views on this ridiculous offer by local officers at Asst Manager level.. They have also advised me that I can do what I like as that is Godrej's final word of responsibility ,( even if life of mine goes , using Godrej window air-conditioner, which can go up in flames at midnight when I am asleep). There is no scope on their website to lodge complaints or take it to notice of Mr Adi Godrej.

      I am enclosing photos of the Window AC taken after burning. Till today i.e one and half months after I had lodged complaint ( complaint not closed so far ) Godrej is playing with me and stopped responding also.

      I look forward to receive a reply from you in next 3 days , either way which will open my options and then Godrej should not feel that I have not tapped all avenues in Godrej before taking extreme steps which are open for a genuine customer .

      I want full refund of money as this is an extra ordinary failure of poor quality product which endangered my life.or a full replacement of AC with proper quality certificates.

        i was purchase the refrigerator on5th nov 2010 from prithvi electronic akasganga bhilai. the trey was cracked within 20 days iwas complained on 10th dec 2010 they surprice me and send the service engineer within 10 hours and message given in my mobile send shri kuldeep sahu to attend he checked and take both trey and said it will be replace with in three days.
        unfortunatly as they received the complain they are not replace the trey yet today when i ash to the dealer they said that one of them are not attend the phone and the was gone on leave for new year celebration.

        if this type of happen to the new custemer then god knows for old custmer.if the boss gone on holiday they are not charge to any person to take deal complain.
        is this is the top company we are dealing with.
        please take necessary action to make the company reputation in this regards

          A refrigerator was purchased on 29.6.2009 from NEXT RETAIL SHOP FEROZPUR ROAD LUDHIANA.vide bill no.0041055 of Rs14500/.Just after ten days of its purchase it had sound problem which was informed to dealer. He gave no. of service station who was called and informed about the problem.They sent technician but nothing satisfactory action taken.again after some time he was contacted but nothing was done.Dealer was informed again and again but he said this complaint will be handled by service staion .Thus one year passed .I took no.[protected] from internet and called them and told them about the problem .They said now complaint has been filled.It means dealer and service station people were delaying purposefully.Now again service station people contacted after this complaint and said gas needs to be filled and asked money for it.I asked them what is the garantee of gas they are fiilling .They said only three months.MY QUESTION HERE IS THAT NEW REFRIGERATOR HAS GAS PROBLEN IN TWELVE OR THIRTEEN MONTHS.ANOTHER THING I SENT MAIL A BOUT THIS PROBLEM FIVE TIMES BUT NOTHING SERIOUS ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN.I MUST SAY SERVICE OF GODREJ COMPANY IS VERY POOR SINCE COMPLAINT FILLED ON TOLL FREE NO.             we have purchase godrej refrigerator there is foul smell from freezer i had registered complaint on 8/12/2010 comp no-734920 by making false excuses & after making calls to their call center several times no body is taking the step allthough we had informed by the responsible service manager that there is no one in ware house to supply the product strange shame .

            Sir,
            I am ajeet Kumar from jamshedpur (jharkhand). I have bought a Godrej EON Refrigerator double door GFE 26-c mred on 15/12/2008 from sound of music, 36, kalimati road Jamshedpur. Only within two days the refrigerator has gone out of order and the Godrej technician told that there is some device is not working and change that device after 6 month refrigerator gone out for a second time for cooling problem and now Godrej Technician told that that refrigerator has compressor problem and they changed the compressor.
            But after 1 year again started cooling problem in this time local service department technician taken to me 1650 rupees for gas charging, relay changing and service charge on 14/8/10.
            After then technician said that there is some assemble problem inside the body of the ref.so they brought my ref. for their local workshop on 21/10/10 and return my freeze after repairing on 4/11/2010. Its complain no was 650784. (Toll free no-[protected])
            But after few days again same problem started and they fill gas again(complain no-655724) .at least they 3-4 times gas filling, 2 times compressor changed and so on.
            I am struggling since last 2years to repair the fridge. If manufacturing company’s service centre can not rectify the problem than I don’t know who else will be able to rectify it.
            It is very strange that such a big company is making so sub standard quality refrigerator that the unit becomes faulty within a few months and then they refuse to replace it. It is not sure that they will be giving a new compressor also. They may even give an used compressor as spare. This is sheer cheating and depriving the consumer of his rights.as the customer is suffering after spending Rs.16000/- for buying this sub standard quality product... The godrej Management should be answerable for this.
            I want to either Refund my CASH from this company…or change my fridge...

              I am a loyal customer of Godrej since my birth. MY parents had always bought and owned a godrej and so am i doing. The tradition of maintaining what is promised is followed diligently by some handful of companies in which yours is One. I have always had a great respect for the same.

              In line with the same impression, I booked a new refrigerator through this salesman, who came knocking on our doors, suggesting we go for a change of our old godrej fridge, which continues to work as per the promise and now for more than 10years. UNFORTUNATELY we decided to go for the exchange as happened in our story of ALLADIN and the MAGIC lamp. THe result , we have paid the full amount on[protected], under your diwali gift scheme with a lot of promises and a scratch card of X value. Since my daugher has her birthday on 25th of November, we clearly instructed your salesman, so called subhash, who promised us to deliver on time as time was of essence of the contract.               Now the best part is i have neither the fridge, with the so called benefits, and neither is anyone giving us a proper answer including the sales man who does not even pick up the phone. HIs no is [protected]. The number which we have been calling again and again for which there is no reply continues to be as follows [protected]. One fine day, that is today, these people of yours are sending me a call saying why i am not accepting the fridge. See the beauty of it so far we have been trying to take the delivery which no one responds to and suddenly they decide to oblige a customer as if they are gifting me the fridge. No deliverance of the promised gift and diwali promises. GONE IS THE BIRTHDAY OF MY DAUGHTER FOR WHOM THIS WAS INTENDED.

              Dear Sir,
              Please give me a single reason as to where as a customer have i failed and why in the case should I accept your product. THe salesman is still not picking up the phone and your delivery dept is after us to accept the delivery as it is overdue from their side and forget the scratch card and accept a small token in exchange as if i am a beggar, Sir I am neither interested in the product or the gift or the scratch card. WHAT A SHAMEFUL CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE.

              In the current status I would suggest refunding my money with interest @ 18% with a letter of apology as i am not interested in your product any more. LEt me also state that i will promise you not to buy at any given time any of your products. I know i am a very small and insignificant customer of yours and do not make any difference to your esteemed company.

              Please revert so that i can atleast know what to do.

                  Dear Consumer Forum,

                  Bad After Sell Service & Bad Behavior and Defected Items of Godrej Refrigerator

                  I have purchased a Godrej Refrigerator model no. GD3 23CS2 FRPST Steel, from “RAJ ELECTRONICS”, Bhubaneswar on 26-Jun-2010 by Rs. 11,500/-. Even up to 15 days no one has come from Godrej Electronics for demo also. After giving several complains, concern person has come and he found that the Refrigerator is defected and it needs repair. But as per Zonal manager the defected Refrigerator has been replaced on 1st Week of Aug’10 which was also a defected Refrigerator and the same was confirmed by another electrical / technical staff of “Godrej Company”.

                  The problems of the Refrigerator are:

                  1. Formation of Excess Ice due to excess cooling,
                  2. Leakage of Ice Water from the chilling tray,
                  3. Air pass inside the Refrigerator due to defected door,
                  4. Problem in Thermo Starter & Defrosting.

                  After that we have given numerous complains to the concern company, but till date no action has been taken. Even sometime we have to hear slang words / no response.
                  When we speak with Sales Manager, as per him the defected piece will be replaced.
                  But, the ASM says we have to pay more then the market price for the new replaced piece of Refrigerator.
                  Now we are confused either it is a crime to give a complain to Godrej Company regarding its defected item?.

                  I would like to refund back of my money from the concern company along with compensation.

After giving several complains, (date and no.927765 11 jun 2010. 2) date.29. nov.2011 and no. 836923) concern person has come and he found that the Refrigerator is defected and it needs repair.                     My overall experience with Godrej has been very bad. I had bought a 240 L refrigerator in 2004 which had issues right from day 1. Thanks to the dealer from whom I bought the fridge, he, after a lot of efforts, got it replaced in a month's time.

                    1. In 2005, I went for a 4 year AMC with Godrej. I do not recall anyone coming and even checking if the fridge is working fine. I only got calls from the service center where I was asked a convenient time for the service engineer's visit, which never happened in the 4 years.

                    2. Last week, I registered a complaint with Godrej Customer care about my fridge not working. The Service Engineer came as scheduled and gave an estimate of around INR 3500/- with a caveat that after spending this amount, he will see if the compressor is working and if not, another INR 2500 would be required to be spent. I then approached a reputed dealer in Pune whose engineer repaired my fridge with a cost of INR 1600.

                    The above 2 incidents reflect very poorly on a reputed India conglomerate. I definitely would not recommend anyone the Godrej brand.

                      I have already lodged a complain through your forum on[protected] regardinng broken glass of the vegetable tray/crisper.Very promptly someone from Godrej visited with the promise to replace it in 2days however there have always been empty promises and no service by the company.The refrigertor was supplied almost a month back but it appears that Godrej is least bothered about rectifying /replacing the broken glass supplied by them.M.S.Sridhar

                      Godrej Refrigerators — poor after sale service

                      our fridge is not been working since last 10-15 days & even after repeated reminders thers had been no response from service center to my complaint.everytime a new problem is being told to me .i am highly dissatisfied from the poor service provided.i had got no benefit of purchasing from a reputed company.
                      in such hot season, i have to work without a fridge, i want you to seriously look after my complaint as soon as possible
                      i m also facing the same problem. fridge not working and no one is coming to repair it. hw much follow up can we do? pls help us.

                        with ref to above refrigerator model GDE 23B1/2008, complaint was raised with service call number 827426 dated 23/09/2010.
                        Today the 30th of sep we received a massage saying that the "service call 827426 is completed".
                        But funny thing is that nobody came to attend or to see the refrigerator,and closed the complaint.
                        we bought refrigerator of a godrej model on the basis of the reputation of the company.
                        From the day one we are having problems and within a year it is worst.
                        If you are least bothered about this then please send us ur address to which this refrigerator to be sent for a free of cost so that u can imporoove your quality and standards.

                        Dear Sir,
                        My Refrizerator Model No. GDA 26E S[censored]nit Sr. No.[protected] purchase on dt. 15.12.2007 from M/s Mahalaxmi Electronics, Maliwada Road, Junagadh. But on the very next month the Freez started creating number of problems and I had already informed on phone as well as orally to lyour dealer. My Service Call No. is 812217. When ever the mechanic visit my house, I have to pay Rs. 180/- as the visiting fee, but you should understand that the product you have sold is totally defective and what your dealer has told is not there. It is as under :

                        1) The above model was anti-corrosive for 10 years and on the next year, it started corroding. Then the painter from your company took the door and repainted but immediately after six months, the whole door and other steal parts get corroded. Pl. get me the above things corrected.

                        2) The defrost system does not work properly and the defrost water does not pass through outlets, but it is accumulated back of the Freez over Compressor and ultimately it is overflown over the electric terminals and creates short circuit problems thereby electric shock accidants. Moreover, as soon as we press the derost button, after one hour the continous flow of drops inside the Refrizerator over all milkcan, other matterials, vegetables and the whole Refrizerator becomes full of water. So every time at the time of Defrost, we have to pull the Refrizerator forward and remove the Tray from the compressor to exhaust it.
                        Now I am fed with the service, visiting charges and all the times your mechanics make experiments and never turn up for further problems. I have seen that your Company has changed three Service Centres in Junagadh city. It is therefore desired that first of all the Refrizerator Door should not get corroded during the guarantee period. Secondly, the drops of water should not fall inside the Freez after defrost. Pl do not teach me any working methodology to use the Refrizerator as I had the same Refrizerator in my house for 23 years without any problem like this. It is requested for the last time to send your Engineer and find out the solution of water dropping inside the Freez and replace me the Door as it has totally corroded during the anti corrosive period of 10 years, failling in which I have to approach Hon.                         Pl see your complaints box and think of your services and then ask for comments. See my earliers messages/complaints remained unattended right from date of purchase i.e. 15.12.2007 to 15.12.2011. The Referizerator needs to be replaced and not repaired. Pl. compare your products and services with other Companies and see that people nowadays prefer Samsung and other brands instead of Godrej.A door which is guaranteed for 10 years from the rusting, has corroded on the very next years. Why you give such foolish gurantee. Now, I have planned to expose all complaints and above letters to newspapers so that other may not be misguided.

                            Last year(07/01/2009) i bought a refrigerator(Eon GFE 28 Serial No. 2C5C11 [protected]) for Rs.16245/-and a washing machine (GWF 620 DAC Serial No.[protected]DIGMR) for Rs.13890/- from Monghyr Musical Stores, Bekapur, Munger, Bihar (ph no.[protected] a authorised dealer of Godrej in Munger,Bihar in the name of my father Mr. S Z Hoda (bills no.961 & 962).It has been a pathetic experience since then.Firstly,after lots of pleading & requests the non-functional washing machine was replaced.Secondly,within 4mths the refrigerator developed major problems in the cooling unit and after much efforts the complaint was attended by a rude engg. who did some patchwork repair on it. Seems it was a defective product from start.
                            Recently (04/09/2010) the refrigerator again stopped functioning.For 1week we kept running to the dealer and registered a complaint with the service centre(service call no.878465).When the service engg. turned up he told that the coolant gas has leaked which needs refilling. He charged Rs.350/- for the visit.Then he has disappeared for 4 days and we were told by the service center that the engg. had some personal problems so only when he returns our problem would be attended. The dealer even rudely gave us the number of Mr.Debashish Das([protected]) who apparently is incharge of customer care for Bihar.That number also was switched off for next 3 days. Finally after 2 weeks of efforts the engg. was back and we were told the cooling unit needed replacement which would take over 15 days more and besides the bill that also went up to over Rs.3000/- while the earlier estimate was Rs.750/-.We are still waiting for it to be replaced.

                            My parents are senior citizens (father is 75 yr old)and there is no other person over there to follow up for all these complaints.The authorised dealer is 1.5km form our house and insists that my father should come in person to his shop to register the complaint. They do not register it over phone and my parents are not that computer savvy to register the complaint online.The authorised dealer is very rude and has simply told us he is not responsible for any after-sales service and we should contact Godrej directly (Mr. Ibrar [protected]) for it.This is really too much for an elderly couple to cope with. I am living in Mumbai and cannot follow it up from here. Kindly do the needful and take up the case with the company.

                              NOt much of cooling....and water coming from vegetable tray...
                              I have Godrej Refrigerator (Model: eon, 280 lt.).

                              There was cooling problem in my fridge. The first complaint which I made to Godrej Service Centre (Toll Free No. [protected])was in the month of june 2011. Since then I am struggling to resolve this problem. Following are the details of the work carried by the Godrej technicians so far.

                              1. In first visit of technicians from Godrej, they said that the part of my fridge got failed and they replaced the part and fridge is started.within two months again the cooling problem was observed.

Because in just 8 months old referigerator i face compressor problem twice. if i defrost the fridge the water comes inside the fridge not backside. Cockroaches enter easily in close door fridge. So, I request the company to replace the fridge.

                                  I am DN Pathak and residing at House No D-273, Gali No- 7 Bhajanpura Delhi- 110053, I have purchase a Refrigerator from VENUS ELECTRONICS (F-610, Main Wazirabad Road, Opp Bhajanpura Bus Stand Delhi- 110094), Model No- 19B-1 EDGE, Color Cherry as on dated 26 October 2008. I have complaint to your customer care last week after that a person from your company has visited my residence on 17th August. He inspect the refrigerator and said there is no problem but there is a power cut of problem and also current on the body of the refrigerator. He didn’t clarify what to be done for rectification of the said problem.

                                  Therefore I request you send some qualified engineer to see the problem and make it all right at the earliest.

                                    Dear Concerned, I had purchased a refrigerator on 12/05/2009 from Kiran Electronics ( Baruipur- kol144 ) shop with Rs. 13900. The Model # is GFE 25 AC ( Col C/ Red ). After 3 months from purchased the Compressor got damaged. I had went to the Shop ( kiran Electronics ) to inform regarding the problem but they informed me that to contact with Godrej Service Centre which is absolutely unethical as if I take one goods from one shop where any problem will come definetly I will inform to the shop first and they have to do the necessary process not the customer. After a long way the shop had informed to the Customer care and they had come to my place after a long comunication ie 02/09/09. They had changed the compressor and had given a 5 yrs. warrenty for the compressor. Now after 02/09/09 on 03/08/10 again the compressor got damaged accordingly. Again same procedure..... informed to the shop owner athey had informed to the service centre. On 10/08/2010 one man ( Name : Ekramul mob # [protected] ) had came to visit only to see the problem and charged Rs. 350 where the service centre had informed Rs. 250 over phone and Rs, 1100 for Gas Charging . For this confusion I did n't given the amount to the man and informed him we would pay the amout when you will come to change the compressor. For your information the man Ekramul had already mentioned on the receipt PAID RS. 350. Whatever on 16/08/10 My mother had recvd a call from the mob # [protected] and the person informed that..... they will send service man to money first ( Rs. 350 + 1100 ) and will come back after for the service.

                                    Please note my service order # 308157.

                                    I have a big question is it a service centre or is it a frod centre that where has mentioned this kind of term ie first take money then they will do their job afetr finish their personal work.


                                    This is my request you all that, plz do not do this kind of sevice to the customer as once they buy something they have some dream with that. I f their any problem with godds then it's bad luck. But if you people will not come to solve th problem then there has nothing to trust. Belief me I will never suggest to my freinds to buy any Godrej Product as I am really not happy for the Service. Goods can damaged that I agree but service is a protect to damaged.

                                        I HAVE A GODREJ PENTACOOL GD 19 REFRIGERATOR. IN MARCH 2010 MY REFRIGERATOR STOPPED WORKING AND I LODGED A COMPLAINT WITH GODREJ AND THE LOCAL PEOPLE CAME AND ATTENDED THE PROBLEM, THEY CHANGED THE TERMOSTAT AND FILLED IN GAS. AGAIN AFTER A WEEK'S TIME THE REFRIGERATOR STOPPED WORKING. AGAIN AFTER COMPLAINT AN EXECUTIVE CAME AND CHANGED THE THERMOSTAT FREE OF COST BUT AGAIN ADDED A NEW ITEM, LIMIT SWITCH. AGAIN AFTER COMPLETING JUST 3 MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF LAST REPAIR THE REFRIGERATOR HAS STOPPED COOLING. WHEN ASKED IT WAS SAID THAT NO GUARANTEE FOR ANY PREVIOS WORK CARRIED OUT IS VALID AND I WILL HAVE TO MAKE FRESH PAYMENTS FOR ANY VISIT / REPAIRS BY THE SERVICE ENGINEER. THE COST OF A NEW REGRIGERATOR OF SAME SPEC TODAY IS Rs 9000 (MAX). COST OF REPAIR SO FAR HAS BEEN Rs 2000 +. IF AFTER SPENDING Rs 2000 THE REFRIGERATOR WORKS FOR ONLY 3 MONTHS AND AGAIN STOPS WORKING THEN WHAT THESE REPAIR PEOPLE ARE COMING FOR. THEY ARE JUST FOOLING US IN THE NAME OF AFTER SALES SERVICE.

                                        My godrej refrigerator was taken from my home on 13.05.2009 for replacement of compressor, which was causing me double the electricity bill every month. Till date, I have not heard from godrej smart care. When I call, they will cut short the call by saying that, they will call back.

                                        i have purchased a godrej eon refrigerator 250 litre in oct, 08. but from two month door of the freezer is not closed properly. i have registerd compliant in this regardon 31st july 09 to godtej service centre and sevice engineer came and tell door to be replace also he said that door is not in stock. after that no reponse from the service centre. i call many times to service centre they said that still we do not have part in stock. i am very much depressed now. what is the alternative of this. can i go to consumer court in this regard. please give me suggestion.

                                        Godrej service is poor across India. They choose third-rate franchisees for servicing.
