Hello!

I am here to complaint about HDFC Bank's poor service.

I was issued a credit card from HDFC Bank against my fixed deposit. It means I can't break my FD till I use the credit card.

I used HDFC Bank's credit card about 6 months then I decided to close the credit card because I wanted to break my FD.

I paid all the outstanding amount and closed the credit card as per HDFC bank's advice.

The credit card is closed and there are no dues but still I am not able to break my FD and it shows "LIEN EXIST" when I try to break my FD.

I contacted credit card's customer care, they said contact branch. I contacted branch (HDFC Sughad Branch) they said contact credit card customer care.

After trying a lot both ways (branch and customer care) still there is no positive response, no solution from HDFC taem. All I found is their lack of interest to solve the matter.

Now I am helpless and disappointed which made me register complaint here.

Hope HDFC Bank Ltd will read this and will do the needful about my issue. Also hoping that they will improve their service.

Hello! After complaining here on 01-Jun-16, I received reply here from HDFC bank on 02-Jun-16 about resolving the problem. As per their instruction here I sent them email about the complaint at [email protected] but before they re-solve the problem, it was resolved by earlier direct complaint at HDFC bank.     Dear Sir/Madame,
    It is very disheartening to inform you that the fort branch has not been satisfactory in responding to export documentation when all requirements have been fulfilled as per requirements
    The export documents has to be submitted to the bank with 21 days and if delay we need to submit a letter explaining the delay. Now it is necessary for you too to give us a proper reason. We had submitted export documents about 8 months back and now it is returned to us saying that multiple cash deposits cannot be done against one Invoice and shipping bill. The shipping bill carries the consignee name as well as all the remitter/buyer. The bank should have no problem processing the BRC’s.
    We have been depositing cash USD since 2002, there had never been any problem. All cash USD deposits are against exports. Initially the bank was accepting cash USD and so we were depositing it. If you had stopped collecting USD cash, we require a written statement at least 15 – 20 days in advance. I don’t understand whether the bank was sleeping for the last 8 months. Nothing was informed to us. We have completed our entire obligation. We have been visiting the bank every week since last eight months.
    We are also receiving additional benefit from customs if the BRC’s are submitted to Indian customs within one year and if we do not receive that benefit we will hold the bank responsible for it and the bank will have to compensate for it. We require to submit six months BRC’s to Indian customs every six months
    We also hold the bank responsible for any problem arising in RBI due to these delays and hold the bank responsible for it. Now how you have sent us a letter regarding FIRC’s will not be issued in certain cases, similarly letters should have been issued against all these cases.
    We require the bank to reply to us as early as possible.

      This is in reference to call received from your chandigarh office in regards to delay payment of credit

      Card from my end today dated[protected].

      I had one payment of my credit card that was due on[protected] but due to some reasons i could

      Make it on time but the same will be done tomorrow.

      My concern is regarding today’s call from your chandigarh office for follow up call to me to make

      Payment of dues.

      I attended the call and asked them that i shall make payment tomorrow and also apologise for not

      Making timely payment.

      My concern here is the personal and mental humiliation that i faced today by your bank’s executive.

      During the call your executive have mentally humiliated me for not making payment and cursed me

      Like anything in higher and hatred tone.

      Even after my many apologises your executive insulted very absurdly. She was behaving if i had

      Committed a heinous crime by not making timely payment for month only.

      Your executive was also asking to make complete payment of card and to close the services. I have

      Not seen any such guidelines in your docs where it is mentioned and customer has to be punished

      With humiliation if he has defaulted in payment

      I replied that it was my fault and i will make the same tomorrow. If there is any delay by me then i

      Will pay the interest which is as per agreed guidelines with bank.

      She was saying like,

      Why are you not making payment on time?

      Hdfc do not want to have customers like you.

      Hdfc has doubt on my integrity.

      Hdfc don’t want your interest but we need our payment.

      You have used hdfc’s money in you bad time and now you are not paying. Is this the way that hdfc

      Is giving credit card to use only in bad time.

      Go to bank today wherever you are. Get the payment done any how today by any means.

      Do not compare us with any other bank. We are hdfc.

      The tone was so harsh and irritating if i have killed someone. Your executive was shouting like

      Anything.

      I want to know is this the way hdfc treat its customers. If i have defaulted any payment then i am

      Paying interest. I am not in intention to not to pay the amount. I am attending all your calls.

      Suppose even if have defaulted then there are procedures to recover money but bank has no right

      To humiliate his customer.

      But the way your people humiliated today, it has made me feel so depressed that i am some kind of

      Criminal. For your information i pay all my tax on time to govt so i have no intentions like that.

      For example, i have credit card for another reputed bank where i delay payment more than two

      Months but never got such calls. I pay interest and there is no such issue and people who are

      Following are very polite while communicating with us.

      Credit cards are being given as a monetary power to customers for expense instead of hard cash

      With a certain time grace to make payment and guidelines are also there of penalty for late payment

      But there is no law written anywhere where bank can directly can take charge and blamed

      Personally and put fingers on character of its customers.

      I want to understand if hdfc promotes such way of communication with customers.

      I want you to go through the ca and let me know how i would be able to recover for mental stress

      That your executive has given me today. I am feeling very embarrassed the way i have been treated

      By hdfc bank.

      I am in such a shock that i am unable to continue my work and this call put me in such state on mind

      That i am having feeling of criminal which is disturbing my inner self. This is all being the arrogance

      From bank and the foul way of dealing with customers.

      Need your action immediately and if required i will also take legal action to get this addressed.

        Invalid user id login attempt

        Being a first time user, I first completed the registration successfully. After that when I am trying to log in with the user id and password I provided during registration, it is saying "Invalid user id/password". I tried to reset the password, but there it saying that "date of birth does not match with the card". How is that possible?...

        I did a transaction for electricity bill pay of Rs 4, 513/- on 22 May which was declined due to technical issues with payzapp. After repeated calls and email exchanges with payzapp and smartbuy, nothing has happened. First they said it takes 48-72 hours, then said 7 days. Now its been over 10 days and I have received no concrete response. The one copy pasted response I am getting since last 5 days is this: "As per your query, we would like to inform that the complaint is passed on to the relevant team and they are working on it. Request you to provide us sometime and we will get back to you soon." Now how do I define "sometime". If I try to call[protected], it doesn't connect at all. Where the hell is my Money?? Very disgusting service and technology systems. Certainly not expected from HDFC bank.

          The atm kiosk at kapurbavdi never works properly. (1) several times it is found out of order (2) today 31st may, one was found out of order (3) the other one was delivering only 1000/- rupee note (4) most of the time mini statement do not work it all happens because of mis management in hdfc bank. The persons attend the atm machines are not expert to rectify it
          Please make both the atm machines in working condition.

            Bank has charged program management fee of 100 rs + service tax per quarter. Charges are not justified an have been deducted directly from account with out any prior intimation or notification. Decisions like this is just loosing customers faith in private sector banks, Just get a feeling that having an account with nationalized bank has its own advantages as compare to private banks.

                I had updated my address by last week. Now i have requested for a cheque book. But I had received an sms stating that "Dear Customer, We are unable to process your cheque book request. For details, Please visit your account branch".

                Also, I went to my account branch. But, i didn't get any proper response. Locked a complaint on Hdfc website, no response. Worst customer service. Wasted more time and money. Need a proper response.

                  I am using hdfc band credit card, due to some issues i couldnt do the payment but i have updated the Team that i will do the whole payment in starting of june which is appx 11K.
                  And i am continuously getting annoying messages from [protected] ( somebody in collections department saying ghar pe aur office me team bhejunga jab bezzati hogi pata chalega. what the hell is this.
                  I have payed all my previous payments on time this is the only month i couldn't do the payments and i am answering all the calls of collection department.
                  My credit car limit is 90k. i have done all the payments and HDFc think i wont do the payments and misbehaving like this.
                  Now i will never gonna use any product of HDFC bank and even will surrender the credit card asap ank make sure no one in my circle won't ever use HDFC's credit card. I have never imagined that this is what HDFC is all about.

                  You guys are sending annoying messages and harassing your own customers.
                  Using HDFC was the worst desicion of my life.
                  Now you have lost one customer and i think will continue loosing customers like this.

                    I have opened salary a/c with you a/c no - [protected] santacruz west branch when i was working with aditya birla minacs duing 28/03/2013 to 28/09/2013. After that i left the job than this salary a/c automatically converted into saving a/c without prior intimation to me. Than because of insufficient minimum balance was not maintain so, bank charged interest on it.
                    I close the a/c on 06/06/2015 and paid full interest amount rs. 4844/- which is against the rbi low (I attach the scan copy of that rule).

                    So, i request to the bank to refund my money as i paid for interest
                    Rs 4844/- to my a/c no:- [protected] hdfc bank, andheri east - ahura center branch.

                    I believe bank will definitely help me to refund my money, otherwise i have to register my complaint to banking ombudsman.

                    I have attach both the scan copies of rbi rule and receipt of interest paid.

                        I have a saving account with hdfc bank, and the customer id is 51653258.

                        I have concern related to money transfer from flipkart to my saving account.

                        I have a transaction done from flipkart for rs.1800 for which they have sent me a utr number. I dont see that amount in my account, i tried contacting customer service numerous time but neither i am getting a responce nor complaint id.

                        Please provide me with the detail where my rs.1800 is? The utr number is[protected] as in the trail mail.

                          Hello,
                          Kindly note that the purchase was made on 5/12/15 on EMI basis. But i was debited the full amount in the month of December itself. Since then i have been writing mails and makng complaints for the same. I was told that the reversal will be made which was done in the month of March 2016 and EMI started.
                          All i am asking is the reversal of finance charges and late payment charges which have been wrongly debited to me on the full amount for the months of December, January, February, March and April.
                          I have tried to call and talk in your helpline no.s many times but every time there is a new person who tells me new things.
                          Kindly give my case to a responsible person who can sought out the matter at the earliest otherwise I will have to move to the CONSUMER COURT for further assistance.

                              I Sachin Agarwal had call from [protected] and this person was insisting me to take life time credit card and on asking the source of my numebr this person said that you are working in listed compnay and our chennai HDFC office has provided me this detail. This conversation comes to end with abusive language by the person from HDFC side. This is totally unacceptable and need apology from the HDFC.

                                My due date for personal loan emi is 5th of every month.
                                i have been paying continuously for last 14 emi without any
                                miss payment. On September 2015, I lost my job . Then Too I Sold My Jewels & Paid the due amount as the bank manager Mr. Vinod advised me to pay the due & they will help us giving some time to pay the emi since I have no job. For the month of April & May 2016
                                the emi for was delayed and it was bounced.
                                The customer services called me and abused me over phone to make
                                payment asap and even after speaking they call from so many mobile number & ask for the same. In a day I get 10-15 calls to make payment and abused me too. I am
                                mentally harassed, even though I have briefed about my financial situation & also assured them that I am definitely going to pay the loan amount but I need time. I have received several calls from different people in a single day. They are saying that we are not here to do charity. I am not asking for charity & also the bank is taking the fine for late payment & due.
                                But on 28th May 2016, two people came from bank & started harassing us loudly in front of the gate. My wife said that lets go to the bank & talk or she will talk with the bank manager if required, & asked them to give the bank manager number, for that Mr.Joyce T screamed at her to stay out & started shouting at her & he treated us like criminals & claimed himself as the bank manager. She asked him to mind his language or else she will take the video & send it to the bank.
                                When we reached the bank & spoke to the Manager Suresh & Ramesh at HAL BRANCH, Old Airport branch Bangalore, they do not wanted to hear our plea, they do not wanted to hear us & they too started harassing us. And they said that we will do like this only if you not pay the EMI on proper time & they said that we can talk about it only if Joyce from HDFC hit you guys. So we not bother to hear you as they have not hit you. And they were forcing me to write that I shall pay the money by 30th May 3.30p.m or else bank can take severe action against me. For which My Wife asked them that they cannot force me to do so as I don’t have Job. They forced me to take her out of the room.
                                My wife spoke to the lawyer & she will write what they wanted me to write, But She will write only what is true & practical. But they do not wanted her to know what they want me to write. They wanted to write what they dictate to write & they threatened us that they will take legal action against us. She said that they cannot do so, as we have skipped only 2 months emi. They said that we have not updated the address. But they have my permanent address.
                                Mr. Suresh threatened me that He is the Head of the branch of HAL Airport Road and he will not wave off the amount for the settlement of the remaining loan amount & it is in his hand for the action against missed emi, If we are informing the bank directly or if we go legally stating anything against him.
                                We are scared now and dont know what to do? We are already in financial crisis & depression as we dnt have job to take care of our daily needs too.
                                All are depressed is very much because of the harassment of the agents in front of our gate on 28th May 2016. I only want a maximum of 3 month time to repay the amount, but I also cannot allow anybody from the bank to harass us like this.

                                  Refer my hdfc policy proposal reference:[protected] i have completed all formalities and paid the policy money on april 21, 2016. Completed my medical checkups - but since its online processing neither the customer care email [protected]@hdfclife.com and the provided phone number[protected] none is providing prompt response.

                                  There is too much of delay - i am happy even they dont issue me policy. I am expecting full money refund as this process is too much time consuming and they are wasting customers time


                                  The usual service commitment by hdfc life team is 18-22 working days but in my case its more than 25 working days and no progress or prompt action is taken.
                                  HDFC Life customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
                                  I have the same experience...they have deducted the amount...inordinate delay in processing and responding..not expected from a company like HDFC...

                                    I had a credit card with HDFC. used that card for 2 years but due to some hardships could not maitain it., so the card went to collection. Being the responsible civilized person every month i am paying on that card. but i dont know from which branch of HDFC collectors keep calling me about 15-16 times a day. though am already paying on the account but they force me to do which i cant and then they shoot the comment that i am cheap and cant do anything, so i really want these people to be either terminated from the work, or some action should be taken asap. Or if i will stop paying on that, trust me nobody can pertake a single penny from my pocket afterwards. i already complained about them earlier bvut no actions were taken, this time am hell serious. i am saying it on this complaint box straightaway, i wont pay a single penny if it will continue, these freaks call my relatives and friends and ask them to pay for my bills. ask those uneducated people to mind there business and work, or i will take this thing to the courts.

                                      I have applied for a car loan hdfc bank in kottakkal branch kerala and I have submitted all my documents regarding this 3 weeks back and not yet sanctioned till now .they are delaying the process because I am not pressurising them as am very buzy with my proffession.And now they are demanding some cash deposit in my account then they can make faster my loan aprooval.I don't known about your bank rules. is it required or they are making their target..?
