I am sending below complaint against HDFC Bank Management for the unfair, blind and non reasonable 300% hike to all the customers, who are holding HDFC Locker.

I have been associated with HDFC bank for the last five years with an NRE and NRO accounts. Also holding Locker with Karaikal Branch, Pondicherry State. But this Financial Year 2015-16, they have increased the locker rent by 300% in one shot. When I contacted the bank, their reply is as below:
"Our locker rents were last revised in 2010. The increase in branch rentals along with related costs has necessitated a revision in our rents"
I am not satisfied with the above reply since none of the commodities, rentals, salaries and other service charges increased 300% from 2010.
Due to my complaint, HDFC is interested to give me 50% discount on my new rental for this year only and from next year onwards new rent will be applicable. Also HDFC bank, indirectly telling me to surrender my locker, which was not my intention.
I agree, there could be some increase in their operational expenses from 2010. But that doesn't mean to increase 300% suddenly.
An increase of 25% to 50% would be ideal, that too gradually.
Requesting this Indian Consumer complaints forum to take this complaint seriously on behalf of HDFC customers, who are holding locker with them.
