Hi,

This is to highlight fraud charges made by HDFC bank on my credit card and then not helping at all in doing any investigation on the fraud. Instead to all my requests for help they just keep sending their standard replies of "it is under consideration" and finally "nothing can be done regarding this".
The case of fraud particularly interesting and clearly shows that HDFC bank has no interest in resolving ANY sort of issues for customers and just wants to make illogical excuses which frustrate customers
Details:
1. Fraud charges made on my Jet Privilege HDFC Bank World Credit card by Priority Pass lounge of Rs 3340.44/-. Charges were made on card in the month of August 2013 and the charges clearly mention that they have been made because of 2 people using the priority pass lounge in the month of July.
2. While I had used the lounge in July – It was a single persons entry AND also the person taking the entry had clearly mentioned that the lounge usage is complimentary.
3. I highlighted the 2 errors to HDFC bank: that the usage was complimentary and even if it was to be charged it was used for only 1 person. To add to it I was neither communicated that charges will be levied neither was I given any receipt of the same.
4. To this HDFC bank kept replying to me (in 7-10 mails exchanged within 1-2 months) that these charges are by priority pass lounge and they CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
5. I finally asked HDFC to tell me the procedure to close the card. To this they instantly replied asking me to wait for some time while they do further investigation.
6. After another 5-6 mail exchanges and around 1 month later they reverted saying I had used the lounge for 2 people on 30th June for which the charges are applied.

After this I simply lost my patience as I NEVER used the lounge on 30th June. Also the charges in card statement clearly mention that it was for JULY usage. Now I am thoroughly frustrated and helpless.
HDFC clearly has done no investigation at all and is simply avoiding doing anything about it.

I have impeccable payment record with HDFC and have cleared all payments on the card in full weeks before due date always.

I don’t know whether this consumer forum would help resolve the issues but I want to spread HDFC’s pathetic service and no help during fraud transactions to as many people as possible so that other consumers can opt for better credit cards.

    Hi,
    I had two credit cards from HDFC and CITI banks, both with credit limit Rs.35000/ and Rs.38000 each. Due to some financial issues I could not pay for the cards for around 6 months and the banks closed my credit card. But later in the month of May'2013 I cleared all my outstanding amount Rs.58,000/ and Rs.65,000/ which includes all the fees and charges. I have obtained No Due Letter from both the banks.

    Now when I am applying for a fresh credit card from the above banks or any other bank, they are rejecting my application, and also stating that I can reapply again after 6 months.

        i had applied for a credit card on around ending of july this year there was some lady named UMA who told me to produce previous month bsnl bill for which she would wavier off initial fee for credit card.i told her i dont want to do any smart payment from my card for further bsnl phone bill payment . after around 2 months i get a message that amount rs1294 was debited from my credit card. when i had not used my card at all . when i called the customer care they told me it was for my phone bill and i had applied for it(which i did not ask for) and the bsnl bill was paid already for last month. i went to hdfc bank in mg road that lady was not in office , i had to speak with some bank manager named mrs shivani singh who was more busy in her own bank work and her people then helping me out with my problem, i had to wait till she finishes her work , she asked me to write a complaint to hdfc credit card people. she had no clue of what to be done and says credit card is not her dept, how come she is the bank manager then and for what..people in bank dont know how to handle a complaint or an angry customer when i spoke with that executive UMA she told me i had applied for it seems... i have no hope that i would get a clear help from them . mrs shivani told me first it would take about 3 days and then told 5 days, to get reply from credit card dept. i really dont know even now for what reasons the amount 1294 was used . the card was not used at all .. i find the whole hdfc banking sys a complete fraud . it had happend even before one guy asked us to changefrom normal hdfc visa debit card to hdfc platinum royale debit card for no extra charge , when i saw amount 400 was cut as annual fee. i am so angry with the inconvenience they have caused ..

            HI, My name is Surya. I'm working for a reputed company in Trivandrum. And very recently i've applied for a personal loan for Rs. 100000. Its been 2 weeks time and have not heard any thing. When called the agent who forwarded my loan application, he informed me that as i do not have a "OWNED HOUSE" my loan will get rejected. My query is that no one told me before applying for the loan that its mandate to have a owned house in order to apply for a personal loan. Had i been informed of this i would have not bothered to apply for it and would have looked out for other sources instead of wasting my time behind HDFC personal loan. On their website they only state that one must have a salary account to apply for a personal loan. I'm currently stating in a rented house with my wife and my permanent address where my parents stay is also a rented house. I had applied for this personal loan to remit my younger brother's college fee. But now knowing that i wont get a loan just because i dont have a owned house is really depressing. Either HDFC bank is misleading or the Agent through who i had applied for loan. Either way i'm going through a lot of stress just because of this one issue. I just want to know whether the information given to me by the loan agent is right. IF it is, then why isn't it mentioned on the website where everyone can see before they apply for a loan. And if the loan agent is wrong then when will i hear from the personal loan department regarding my loan application Please help.

              HDFC has sent me a new CHIP debit card and informed me that existing Debit card will be deactivated. Since I was out of India, I requested HDFC that I cannot access the new card., so please dont deactivate my oldcard till I receive the new one, and the customer care official said yes. But., before i reach India they deactivated my old card and I got stranded in Korea unable to use my card.

              My debit card was deactivated on 7th december saying that i should use my new debit card. But i never received any new debit card. So basically, I dont have any active debit cards right now. This is simply outrageous these kind of issues happen at private banks. You have deactivate previous card only after my confirmation. Very poor.

I just want to inform u that i'm getting letters from HDFC Bank also. Pls take a legal action on them. I'm not aware of whats going on here so i request u pls take urgent action. I will start making the payments when i start working. Your executive is calling me and harrasing me very badly.                       I am having account in Indian Bank, Hasthinapuram. Today at 11.45am I tried withdrawing money from HDFC ATM in Parry Building, Parrys Corner of Rs. 20,000/- (2 transactions @ Rs. 10,000/- each transaction). In 1st transaction I have received the money. In the 2nd transaction, I have not received the money from the machine but the amount got debited from my account. I did not know how to get back the money. Can any one help the procedure to get my money.

                        Sir/Mam, regarding my credit card your bank was offer me a credit card offer that was i accept becuse my all A/C are in HDFC Bank.And i also intersted in your credit card. My REF No-[protected]w2. At last one month ago i applied for this card.but your bank was send me a mail that my card is disapproved. when i talk to customer care they told me my card is disapproved for my address proof .then i sent a application attached with my address proof & drop into your credit card drop box. .at last 14 days ago.but today i check my mail same later so me again.                             Please provide as much information as possible...I have availed 26.50 lacs of House Bldg.loan,from your Raipur Office, Alaska Tower, Shankar Nagar, Raipur. There was two loans and out of which one loan for HBL for Rs. 9.50 lacs is repaid by me on 02.09.2013. Monthly interest Rs.25,078/- was being paid by me through advance PDC. Now I have recd.a sms from your office stating that your Cheque No.140583 Dtd.15.09.2013 for Rs.25,078/- towards Home Loan Instalment will be shortly be presented ib ir after its date. I am surprised to note that I was payment this amount for 26.50 lacs of loan amount and now even after paying 9.50 lacs still you are taking the same amount. It should be Rs.15,000/- or less.                                 Hi Sir/Madam, This is in the reference of the Fraudulent activity done with my credit card on 09/09/13. I am using HDFC credit card ends with XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-7069. There is three transactions on my credit card on 9th Sep’13. 1) 09/09/13 for Rs65.25 in [protected], at paypal : Rs 65.25 2) 09/09/13 for Rs 30855.94 in [protected] st Paypal. 3) 09/09/13 for Rs 3262.25 in PALO ALTO AT WPY*GIVE ME YOUR HAND .Since I have not done any transaction from card. I have called the customer care as soon as I have seen this messages and asked them to block the card permanently. This is a fraudulent activity been carried on my card without my knowledge. I kindly request you to please take some action this. I confirm that these transactions are fraudulent and I haven’t involved in any of these transactions.                                     SUB: Regarding variations in Loan Installments REF: Loan A/C No. :[protected] and[protected] Dear Sir/Madam, As per my above mentioned loan account numbers I have submitted the papers for my loan account statement. Suddenly I got the information that my loan account rate of interest increased from 9% to 11.65% then I talk to customer care he told me to submit the papers regarding for the conversion in my loan account interest and suddenly I got shocked after knowing that there is still 17 installments pending in my loan account. And according to my statement only 14 installments left. When I contact with customer care executive she told me ur loan a/c rate of interest increased and that’s why ur installments increased from 60 months tenure to 63 months. I am not the new customer for ur bank. I am dealing with HDFC Bank from past few years and I have paid 46 installments on time without any bouncing then why should this happen with me. My question is only that without intimating me how the loan department raises my installments period. Secondly no person is giving me any type of intimation from loan department. If any of the bank executive from loan department intimate me regarding this variations I surely talk to him and tried to solve the matter ASAP. But no person from loan department contacts me and neither have I received any letter from the bank regarding these variations in loan account. If I not contact the loan department regarding my statement I never come to the notice that my installments have been raised. Secondly, the variations in loan interest are so much that 3 installments has been raised how it is possible. I don’t know. But I am sure there is something wrong going on and loan department tried to cheat me. I have used this cheat word only because if the things are going like this throughout my loan period then my loan never comes to an end. I don’t want to increase this matter so please solve my problem otherwise I have to take some legal actions. I hope u will do the justice with me and solve this matter ASAP. Waiting for ur reply.
