i was holding credit card of hdfc bank .due to some financial crisis i cant make regular payment so i contact them for any kind of settlement . they made a settelment for 48000 thousand for 8 month, that time i refused to accept that settelment due to the heavy emi i.e 8000 per month. but the settelment department suggested me to pay the minimum due and i totally paid amount of rs.27, 500 to them till this date for my total outstanding of rs.48, 000. after making my 5th emi the settelment recovery deppt said that they have increased my emi term to 12.at the last movement now they are asking for the rest i.e 20500rs to pay .its not possible for me to pay this heavy amount at a time. i request to pls suggest way ahead.
i have recording of the conversation with the settelment deptt. that my emi tenure has increased.
any help is appreciated.

They harassed me for one year and i want to share my experience with everyone.

HDFC bank Credit card recovery department is most notorious in the country.

That is the reason they can show very low Non Performing Assets because they never write off any of the settlements done with the customers.
They did the same with me for one year. I took the matter with ombudsman, using all the emails that i had sent for one year, the settlement letter scanned copy and the proof of payment that i had done. Now i have received the zero balance confirmation and the write off in cibil.

They try to get you into accepting expired settlement letter after which you have no rights. Make sure you make the payment within the written time frame of the settlement letter at all cost

*they sent harassing recovery agents on 'behalf of HDFC Credit card'
*the agent wanted me to make part payments rather than asking for settlement letter
*they tried to make me accept the expired settlement letter.
*they did not honour their written commitment made via their settlement letter for writting off the dues.
*they kept on refusing on emails and kept asking for more money for writing off in cibil records.
* I took up the issue with their "Nodal officer" as well but to no use.
*finally i took all the mails to the ombudsman and got the issue resolved.
*Till date HDFC credit card department holds that everything that was done is in accordance with bank policies. (only God knows how many inhumane policies do they have in their kitty)
*they have wasted my whole one year in followups, mental harrasment, and botheration.

Stay away from HDFC bank for all reasons.
I have a citibank credit card and i had not got the due response from the helpdesk whenever i tried to contact them for any assistance either by Mail or by Call, last i got a call from them 15 days back when i discussed with them regarding the settlement i agreed to pay back the whole principal amount but in installments which they never agreed and insisted me to complete the same in 3 installments only half the prinicipal amount.

I have a query if go for the same what would be my status in CIBIL in the long run.

    I have been using HDFC health plus credit card for almost 4 years. Suddenly, they discontinued the card and have sent me another Platinum card last year. I have gone through the tariff and found unnecessary for me due to the annual charges. I was also not happy with their billing service since i paid late fees on many occasions due to non-reciept of bill. Hence, i have cut the new card (without using it) diagonally after clearing the bills on my old card, and sent back to the office address mentioned for cancellation. Later i have recieved calls from the customer care twice during my office hours and I have not talked about the matter saying to call later.

    But later I have been recieving bills with outstanding amounts and late fees for the new card. I am not aware about the charges as I have not used the card. Whenever I have asked the customer care personnel who called me for the old bill when this amount was charged, they used to send only the present bill. For this I have replied them asking for the past bill which contained the charges and not the overdue.

    Recently the call have become more & more harassing. In the replies from HDFC customer care, they simply ask me to talk to the customer care. Please attend to the issue immediately.

      i have saving a/c. in main branch in rajkot.
      last 15th march my a/c.is open and welcome kit also i received with cheque book and debit card,
      but yet sir i dont receive my debit card pin no. so how can i deposite my salary or any other payment
      that a/c. coz how can i withdrawl without debit card pin No.

        i am paying a loan towards two wheeler purchase i paid already 8 instalments and i am yet received repayment schedule from HDFC if one day delay in repayment they will charge rs.450/- for late fees but from 8 months they are not yet issued me a loan repayment schedule (what is the fine for them)

          MY HOME LOAN FROM HDFC WAS RUNNING AT 10.5%.I WAS CHARGED RS 42944 FOR CONVERTING TO 9.25% RATE OF INTERERST THOUGH THEY R GIVING NEW LOANS AT 8.5 %.THESE CHARGES R UNJUSITFIED AS I HAD OPTED FOR FLOATING ROI & SO RATE SHOULD BE REDUCED AUTOMATICALLY FOR EXISTING CUSTOMERS ALSO.HDFC SHOULD REFUND THIS AMOUNT OF RS 42944.MY LOAN A/C NO IS[protected]

          since you had taken loan at floating rate, the bank is entitled to do adjustment with the interest rate and you can help little with that. in fact the banks are fairly reasonable in doing that...otherwise why are nationalised banks too charging increased rates for existing borrowers.

          Before existance to HDFC or any other pvt bank, poor Indians were exploited by Jemadars/Pvt Lenders now Pvt Banks have been replaced to Zimaders/Pvt Lenders and starting exploiting own countrymen.I agree with you, as a privilege customer they should n’t ask for addition FEE to reduce rate of interest that was considered illegal /unfair policy

            I am an saving acount holdr of HDFC ank , EKHRAJ MARKET , Lucknow, walked into the Bank aaaaand asked about the lone section , the officer asked my Name & Account no. ( Name. Shashi Bhan Pratap Narain Singh & A/c No. [protected]) he gone through his data base and told that I am eligible for RS 15,0000.00( Fifteen Lacs) & Rs 350,000.00 ,( Threelacs and FiFty Thousand ) ,asking every thing at he denied to give me lone because my salary was in cash , I tryrd to convence him by following Points
            1:- I am a centeral Govt Employee working in Indian Railways, where making any defalt comes under
            D& R rules.
            2 :- if it is so then give me in writting that cash salary is an only bassisto reect my lone. But Bank Authorities did not gave the resion in writting .

              Sir,
              This is for your information that I am holding a saving account in HDFC bank at Bistupur, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Presently I have permanently shifted from Jamshedpur to Bellary Karnataka. I have applied for renewal of my ATM debit card. I have personally travelled from Karnataka to Jharkhand to collect my card. I have received the card from the courier agent but i have not received the card PIN number. Due to urgency I had to leave Jamshedpur without rceiving the PIN. I had authorised my brother to collect the pin number from the bank with a duly signned application stating the criticality of the situation and asked the bank to give the pin number to my brother who is readilly available in Jamshedpur to collect the pin on my behalf. But the bank is not giving the pin to him. I would like to know whether authorisation letter is of any value to the bank or no. I am unable to withdraw any money out of the account due to this.                 Dear Sir,

                I have transferred Rs. 15000/- on 8th April, 2010 from my HDFC Bank Account IFSC Code : HDFC0000011 to Syndicate Bank A/c IFSC Code : SYNB0008551. Reference No. for the transaction is : HF[protected]. The account in which I have transferred the money is closed now. So, money cannot be credited in that account. The money has been deducted from my account too but now its been 7 days but money has not credited back to my account. Please help me in that.

                As this business deal, since I don't have current account in India, one of my business friend from Kolkata have it, I was using it because at the time i don't have current account, my friend in usa he told me that where as this is business deal, I can't transferred to personal account, he need business account i., e (currnet account), so I have provided my kolkata hsbc friend account along with all the details to send wire from usa. He has done a transaction of $9500 on April 7, 2010. when it came to hsbc india account my Kolkata friend didn;t informed me, he just went to the hsbc, ultaganga and withdranw Rs.4, 04, 000 CASH W/D 166752 FVG SELF PAY TO Mr.____ ULT638 BANKING TERMINAL (UBT) where I have internet access to hsbc acount when i checked the account there was only Rs.10, 000/- left, I shocked, and immediately called to so called person in Kolkata, but he says, I don't know some one took it. but it clearly says his name and cheque no and all.

                I don't know whom to contact, and how it will be solved, I am keeping on begging him, but he always says, i will pay you, since someone took it. since last 6 months he was telling the same stories, HOW TO DO IT.PLEASE LET ME KNOW. - Raj - [protected]
                me having an account in hdfc bank.I transfered money to my friend having an account in axis bank instead of adding account number i added customerid as the beneficary money got debited .will that money get refunded or it will creited to him.
                On may 14th i made a net banking third-party transaction by SBI online banking. the receiver account in Andhra-bank he was not given proper account number, i.e one no was wrong, .so it is credited others account what should i do.? .in bank statement the transaction showing "conformation from other bank awaited" i contacted to my bank their version is conform money credited or not in the written account no. which i added to my online transaction. .

                  Invalid Cheque

                  I have posted a cheque in which payee is my name. There in cheque my account no also specified.

                  The issue is: My name Thilagamani. But in the cheque my name is written as "Thilaga". So it got rejected.

                  I don't understand why it was rejected. You could have rejected if the name is fully wrong / does not match with the account no.

                  Anyway in the account my name is specified right?...

                  I am a customer of HDFC bank for the last 5 years having my salary account , Demat account and credit card of HDFC bank.

                  Last month I got a call from HDFC Bank call center to upgrade my credit card which I accept and my credit card get upgraded to Titanium card from Gold Card and also i got a call to to transfer my remaining amount on Credit card into 6 EMI's which I also accept and the same is confirmed from the call centre executive to pay the first EMI installment on 24.04.2010 and nothing before this.

                  But suddenly i start geting calls from HDFC Bank callcenter to pay amount of 1500 which is due on 24.03.2010.They start calling almost all the day and even today they call at my home from call center no [protected] and misbehave with my Mother.They just don know how to talk with some senior citizen.They are harrasing me for the so many days for just Rs 1500/-.Need your support to have some actions regarding such workers who don't do job properly.

                  They start misbehave with me. They just don know how to talk with some coustmer .she also abuse me .Need your support to have some actions regarding such workers who don't do so .
                  There are also my fix deposits with your bank . Also having crrunt account . So do fast action against her

                    :- After my DMAT Account I had applied for On-line Mutual Fund around 6 months back in October month, from bank itself by filling the form manually & bank ensured me that it be active with in 2 weeks.Then after my regular follow ups for around 1 month they didn't update any status for that.In December starting I requested them to check the form again then they find that form was lying with them because it was returned back as Bank forget to put round stamp on it which shows the irresponsibilty by them.Then Mr Gaurav again send the form for registration & gave me his number.He told me that he will mail me or call me for any update or I can also call him.But he never make a call & not even received my calls.I visited them regularly but with no response from bank.
                    Then I told to Branch Manager Mr Akhil about my case, he told me to apply again & fill the form with this he told me that they will treat this as special case and will try to get it registered with in a week.
                    This was in January end I suppose.From then onwards I am regularly following up with them but they are not giving any update.When ever I go to Mr Gaurav he use to give me just one answer that he will update me this time.The most irritating thing is he never receives call & didn't even call me or mail me to update.Same is the response from Branch Manager, he says okay I will talk to Gaurav later on.But never take any action.I had visited more than 50 times but I never get any response.

                    i Ram Bilas Gupta a joint Ac holder in your bank with my father Sh. Khazan Singh in Branch at Azad pur, Punchwati. Our AC no is [protected].
                    My father wanted to withdraw some amount from the FDR maturted on 27.04.2010 where rate of interest was 7.25% Mr. Sandeep Mann Posted in this branch he gave that amount from the FDr which is going to be maturted after 4 months awhich is @ 10.5%.
                    Moreover he misbehaved with my father like any thing and gave the advice to close the ac from this bank and go some where else.
                    Kindly take the necessary action in this regard under intemataion to me.

                      i am holder of hdfc bank gold credit card bearing no[protected],i have asked for settlement with banks collection authourity, but they debited 26000 directly frommy accountand now they give thearenting calls to me. one person claiming himself to be delhi police man his cell no[protected] calls and talks in abusive language and threatens to arrest me.i cintacted bank who directed to collection dept.one mr, nilesh sompura is there i went many times but he does not listen.he says first pay then i will issue a letter.
                      i paid 7000cash .he said to collect letter after two days but till date i have not recd.any settelment letter.every now and then some one calls and uses abusive language.i am ready toapy. but onl;y on receipt of settelment letter.
                      plese help,i have a sick father at home and these people haress us.i request someone to help.it is my earnest request to one and all .can sumone catch the fraud people calling and giving threatening calls.

                        I have taken a Housing Loan from HDFC Ltd. On 27th Nov 2006 HDFC had approved a housing loan of Rs3,22,000 /- only at the rate of 11% pa(fixed rate) for a term of 15 years. Finally when the loan was reimbursed on 27th Oct 2007 I was charged interest at the rate of 12% pa(fixed rate), which I had accepted. Had I knew the rate is 13.25% pa(fixed rate) I would have gone for some other banks. However Kumar Ajit assured me that the rate was 12% pa(fixed rate), after which I signed on the dotted line.

                        However after payment of 2 installments I am being told by HDFC that I am a defaulter & my EMI is 13.25% and not 12%. There after I have made several rounds of HDFC Bank Asansol, dropped mails and answered to lots of phone calls from HDFC Bank Kolkata. It has been more than 9 months and the matter is still not settled.

                        For over more than a year the issue went on and at the last I had to get loans from outside and repay the entire amount to HDFC Ltd. They came back saying that it was a manual error on their side but the consumer had to face all the fines and dues and interest at the increased rates.

                        In short HDFC Ltd has cheated the customers.
                        1. Mislead the customer
                        2. Dragged a problem for more than a year which could have been resolved in a few days
                        3. Cheated the customer by saying that the ROI is 12% pa and made him signed on the papers where it was written 13.25%.
                        4. Took their own time to reply to queries (Minimum I had to send 3 reminders, this time it was 5)

                        Thanks for the mail, I am surprised that this mail has not come to my mail

                        We are unable to use our servers due to technical fault at BSNL's end.
                        Kusal : How long have you been unable to use the servers due to technical
                        fault at BSNL's end? From 7Jul to 23Jul(span of 16 days)!!! you want to
                        tell me that HDFC Ltd, Durgapur was unable to do any work for the past 16
                        days. If HDFC Ltd, Durgapur is on non operative mode cant anything be done
                        from other branches of HDFC Ltd. What type of contingency plan you have? I
                        am surprised to see such a big organization like HDFC Ltd having none such
                        plans and keeping customers on hold for no fault of theirs!

                        Our Durgapur office still cannot access the system. In view of that we
                        would request your cooperation.

                        after 3 reminders and after 3 weeks I have never heard any where in any
                        corporate world. I am not sure about you or HDFC Ltd. Its one of the worst
                        experience I have had till date. For information this mail from yours came
                        after 14 days.

                        on which you want to prepay the loan. The amount outstanding depends on the
                        date you are closing it. Upon receiving your intended date we can let you
                        know the outstanding amount.

                        2. When will I get all the documents that I had submitted to HDFC bank? The
                        day I repay the entire amount or I have to come back another day? If later
                        then after how many days of repayment of the entire amount will I be
                        getting ALL MY PAPERS together? - First of all this not HDC Bank but HDFC
                        Ltd. You should be aware of this. The day you are making the payment , you
                        would not be getting the papers back. You have to show your Bank Statement
                        of last 6 months to us so that we can check the clearance of your last 6
                        EMI's and your prepayment cheque. We can hand you over the papers 3 weeks
                        after this.
                        Kusal : You can see the clearance of the last 6 EMIs from your system only,
                        do let me know if there is some other proof of EMI payment you want. After
                        3 weeks I will come back to you to collect ALL MY PAPERS, hope you live up
                        to your word?


                        Lastly We would categorically deny all the allegations you have made
                        against us. We always try to keep the customer's need first and foremost
                        and we tried to in your case too. However it seems you want to drag this
                        non-issue forever.
                        Kusal : The allegations which you are categorically denying is
                        unfortunately facts that I have gathered from my experience with HDFC Ltd.
                        The same response I am getting from various other people when I am
                        discussing with them. So this is not what only I am saying but what most of
                        the people are saying.
                        Secondly your statement "you want to drag this non-issue forever". This
                        mail chain is proof of who has dragged the issue? I leave for the others to
                        decide. A issue which was started by HDFC Ltd was carried on for more than
                        a year. Whenever I came to your branch the only answer I received from you
                        is "We are in touch with the accounts dept we will get back to you, pls let
                        me know your contact number and email id we will get back to you". A number
                        of times you have written my email id/mobile number in your diary, to which
                        I never received any response. I had to come to your office. You say
                        something and then get back on your word. There are still unanswered
                        question. Not sure on what basis you made the above statement!

                        Please let us know when you want to repay the loan , we would issue you the
                        loan outstanding.
                        Kusal : When I am asking you to let me know the break up of the entire
                        amount(in mail dated : 14May09) it means I am ready to pay the entire
                        amount as soon as I know what's the entire amount. Did you miss reading it
                        or my English was not understandable? Where's the doubt? To simplify if you
                        tell me the break up of the amount today I will pay you this Saturday. I
                        will be very happy to wash my hands off asap. Hope the following
                        statement(in mail dated : 14May09) is understandable too?

                        response from HDFC. For the month of May 09 I will be paying the EMI online
                        tomorrow at the same rate that I had been paying, pls see that its deducted

                        At first let us keep all people in loop in this mail who have been in touch
                        with this, I dont want to get letters from Mr Kumar or Dipta Dutta and

                        Secondly the matter is still not resolved, I don't want to repeat things
                        again and again. In order to pay EMI @ 13.25% both of you (Akash and
                        yourself) had agreed to show me all the original documents way back Nov 08
                        which till date you have not shown me. I even came to your office but what
                        you showed me was some photostat copies instead of the promised original
                        docs.If you cannot show me due to any security reasons I am very sorry you
                        are not keeping your word. At first you agree, then you buy time saying
                        that we will get in touch with the Kolkata branch and then you come and say
                        you cannot show due to security reasons. This is not at all acceptable.

                        Thirdly Dont try to mislead me. You in your below mail have said:-
                        We are not able to understand why after all the talk we had you are still
                        insisting on paying EMI @ 12 %
                        What talk are you referring to? The MOM(Minutes Of Meeting) of the talk is
                        as mentioned in my mail below dated 04/02/2009 09:10 PM

                        Fourthly to answer to this:-
                        You have a duplicate copy with you and can refer to that, the terms and
                        conditions are exactly the same .
                        We think that the promissory note photocopy and the loan agreement with you
                        is sufficient to answer the queries.

                        I have told you earlier and you will find it deep somewhere in this mail

                        Do not ask me to go through the Loan Agreement document as I very well know
                        its written 13.25%. This is the same question that I had asked you the day
                        I signed on the dotted line as to why its written 13.25% when you are
                        charging 12%. You said that its a special rate which HDFC is giving to TCS
                        associates only. The same rate 12% is written in the documents which HDFC
                        haves and this is why I am asking you to show me all the documents. This
                        was the very same rate at which you had asked me to submit the 12 PDCs.
                        Please check the HDFC1.jpg, HDFC2.jpg snapshots attached in the previous
                        mail.

                        Let me remind you that I had signed not only in Promissory Note but in some
                        other documents too where 13.25% was written but that only after you gave
                        me the confidence that this is normal and that the rate for TCS associates
                        is 12%. (Please correct me if I am wrong.) What about the document which
                        has rate written 12% pa and bears the seal of HDFC bank and the authorized
                        signature of the HDFC personnel. Is that not a legal document? I fail to
                        understand that. Can someone please explain me?

                        Now if you say that the customer has signed on the various documents which
                        says 13.25% and you gave the customer the confidence that the ROI is 12%
                        then it simply means that you have cheated the customer .

                        Do note that I am not going to pay any extra money for any fault or mistake
                        which HDFC has done. I have a record with me which says that the original
                        agreement was initially of 12%. I have given enough time to HDFC but the
                        returns that I got from HDFC till date is , HDFC has :-
                        1. Mislead the customer
                        2. Dragged a problem for more than a year which could have been
                        resolved in a few days
                        3. Cheated the customer by saying that the ROI is 12% pa and made
                        him signed on the papers where it was written 13.25%.
                        4. Took their own time to reply to queries (Minimum I had to send 3
                        reminders, this time it was 5)

                        The HDFC billboard all over the country says "Talk to some one whom you can
                        trust". If this is the way you treat your customers it does not speak
                        highly of HDFC. A lot of people will think twice and even thrice either
                        before opening a account in HDFC or taking a loan from HDFC.

                        I am fully dissatisfied with the services of HDFC and want to pay the
                        entire outstanding amount.

                        An ordinary person comes to HDFC Housing bank for a loan. This bank is of
                        his choice because (1) He has been having his TCS salary account since
                        06Oct2003 (2) In HDFC things will happen swiftly and there will be no
                        problems as we have been sharing a relationship for more than 4 years.

                        When the agreement is done most of the documents Promissory Note etc have
                        13.25% written on it but he is charged 12% pa. When asked about the
                        discrepancy he is said by HDFC that its normal, in most of the documents it
                        will be 13.25% but as you are a TCS employee, 12% is a special discount
                        given to you. The person signs in all the documents because he has the
                        confidence of the HDFC that the rate is 12% pa. Had he known at that time
                        that rate will be 13.25% he would have immediately moved out to a different
                        bank. He pays EMI @ 12% for 3 months as asked by HDFC and after 3 months he
                        is told that he is a defaulter and ROI is 13.25% pa. When the man asks HDFC
                        he gets the same reply for over a year “We are in touch with the Accounts
                        Department, will get back to you soon”. After 1 year the bank tells the
                        person that he has to pay EMI @ 13.25% pa from the beginning for no fault
                        of his own. My question to the learned people in this mail is “Whose fault
                        and who is paying for this fault?”

                        After so many mail communications and verbal communication with Akash in
                        Nov 08 I was in the understanding that you would be having all the original
                        documents with you, but to my surprise there were none when I met you last
                        week. We have lost one more opportunity to solve the confusion (As said by
                        you) & now it has been postponed to another unknown date. I think you still
                        fail to understand what is meant by ALL THE DOCUMENTS as in your mail dated
                        01.04.09 0932hrs IST you are only talking about the Promissory note and
                        Loan agreement document. Were these the only 2 documents that we had
                        engaged the day I signed on the dotted line? There were other documents for
                        instance disbursement memo etc where 12% was written. I am looking for that
                        too, can you please confirm whether that’s too in the Kolkata lockers or we
                        can have it earlier? If you still have any queries on the statement ALL THE
                        DOCUMENTS please call me. I will be happy to help you. If you can get this
                        before the end of April I would be very grateful to you as I have to pay
                        another EMI before the end of this month. If not then I would be paying EMI
                        for Apr 09 at the rate that I had been paying i.e. 12% pa online. Please
                        see that its deducted under the current heads.

                        The meeting day you had said that the Promissory Note is the only legal
                        document where I had signed & it says that I agree to pay EMI @ 13.25%. Let

                          Respected Sir,
                          I am Manaswini Mohanty. My native place is puri,my parent stay in puri, I am working as a lecturer in Rayagada,Orissa.
                          my father and my uncle approached to the station square branch on dated 15th jan 2010.
                          As per the discussion of 15th jan 2010,the bank people agreed to give us loan for the amount of Rs.4,50,000 against my father’s property and on my salary ,They had mentioned that they can give us loan for our property situated in puri
                          On 5th march 2010, we did our log in for the loan properly our log in number is[protected].
                          As per the requirement I had visited many time from Rayagada to Bhubaneswar for the documentation Purpose spending my time and money from a far distance.Everytime the bank concerned people told me everything was fine and the loan will be sanction soon, like this they had given us assurance.
                          On 12th april 2010, the bank people communicated my father that our loan has been rejected, and they gave us a reason that the bank has not given any loan against property situated in puri.
                          If this is the reason, how my sister Ms Priyamboda Mohanty ( Loan no:[protected],[protected]
                          had taken loan from the same branch for the property which is a part of my father’s property i.e same plot.
                          What is the necessity of delay the things if your bank has some rules like this ,the bank people could have told us from the beginning. Why the bank people has given us so many mental tension and wasted our valuable time.i have spent money for this process also, now I am going through a financial crunch.
                          As a lady I have taken so much pain and mentally harassed by your bank people.

                              I hold a salary account of Manpower Consultant vide Customer id: 35083897, it had got activated in the month of March 2010, While checking the Balance at the Canara Bank ATM at Bangalore SBC juntion station, it got swallowed by the ATM due to some technical reasons. On this when approced the customer care, they harrassed me saying that u have to go to the Home branch and give the request, on continuously requesting them they finally told u can go and give request to the nearest hdfc branch. After which i went to BTM Branch and gave a request vide no-ZEA[protected] as on 6-April-2010. today as on 13th April 2010, when i asked to track my ATM, HDFC people informed me that it would go to Manpower people directly and if i m not present there it would return to chennai main branch and then to Vijayanagar home branch.. They are unable to tell when shud i go , where shud i go to collect it..It is a mental harrasement for me to just get an ATM CARD. I m ready to go to Vijayanagar branch , if somebody informs that it is present in that branch , i cannot go to homebranch daily from Domlur to check whether my ATM has reached the home branch or not.

                                  I am visiting HDFC Bank Branch Located at Banngargatta Road, Opp Sagar Hospitals, Bangalore – 560 029 from past 3 days and always a very long Queue at counter number 1, where I can get the address change form.



                                  Some how, I am very lucky after standing for 30 min in Queue I got the form on last Saturday and I was told to submit the address proof. Your Website also says, I need to visit the bank along with address proof.



                                  Today, when I visited the same branch below is my experience.



                                  Initially the person at counter Number 1 asked me to fill the form and submit the PAN card Xerox after standing in the queue for more than 20 minutes. I was not aware this as your website says I have to visited with address proof and I did the same. I ran to my home and took the Xerox copy of my PAN Card and again visited the same branch. Again a very big queue and when I requested them to just accept the form which is duly filled, she asked me to stand in the Queue. Again I was in Queue for more than 15 minutes and queue is not at all moving. I do not know what she is doing there. I fed up standing in the queue and left the premises and again visited after 1 Hr. Again the sitation is same and this time I was standing in the queue for more than 30 minutes and my turn has come finally.





                                  When I submitted the form, I filled only Account ID and not the account number as I remember only my Account Id. She insisted me to fill the Account number as well. Agreed for the same and requested her to provide the Account number based on my Account ID for which she refused and asked me to go back to the ATM and with the help of Debit Card asked me to fill the Account number. This time I fed up as the Queue at the ATM is also long. When I explained my problem and requested her to provide the account number, she started interrogation.



                                  Asked me to provide my OLD Address. Keeping the Long process of HDFC Bank address change in my mind, from past 3 years I have not changed my address. Same I conveyed her and asked to provide the city name so that I can give the old address details for which she refused. (In last 3 years I was in difference Cities and I could not remember my old Address) Finally I told All my last 3 years address and one of the address is matched with the Registered address.



                                  Then She asked me to show the Original PAN Card. Same I was not carrying and I have Laminated Color Xerox of my PAN card which she refused to accept and thrown the forms.



                                  My Questions to HDFC:



                                  1) When competition doing the address change over phone/mail, why HDFC only has this typical process of visiting the branch

                                  2) In this era of E-age Banking, why bank is wasting customers as well employees time ? Waste of Valuable Bank Resources?

                                  3) Still why bank is depending on Physical Papers (one side bank spends money for E-paper,E-banking, E-Statements etc)

                                  4) Why Bank Website is not updated stating I need to visit the Branch with Original as well Xerox Copy of my PAN CARD?

                                  5) When banks are processing Cheques for lakhs of Rupees based on Customer Signature, why same cannot be replicated for address change? Can’t the bank verify the signature and update without Xerox Copies & Original of PAN Card when customer PAN details are available with the Bank?

                                  6) When Customer already fulfilled KYC (Know your Customer) guidelines, why all these things are required.

                                  7) Why corporate banks asking corporate customers to stand in the queue till their turn comes? Why can’t you implement the token system like others?

                                  8) Why people at the counter is not giving complete and right information at the first instance itself?

                                  9) When people are standing only in one Queue does bank manager do not have empowerment to assist that person by providing additional manpower or adjusting others who is sitting Idle in the same premises in the next 7 counters?

                                  10) Why Payee registration will take 24 Hrs of time for new additions? When competition is doing immediately? Competition sends SMS Code for Payee confirmation or I can call the competition netbanking for payee confirmation. But in HDFC, I must wait for 24 Hrs to transfer the funds after payee registration.





                                  Finally HDFC has to do lot many customer Friendly processes for better customer experience in this competitive world.



                                  I expect someone will take this feedback and suggestions and make customers life earlier. Then only your Quote of “We Understand your World” is complete.



                                  As for as my issue of address change is concerned, I fed up with this process and requesting the branch to arrange a person to my residence and collect the necessary docs and complete address verification formalities and update the bank records.

                                  I had same experience with HDFC and infact same is now happening when I am trying to update PAN card details. They think they are the only individuals who are busy on this earth, others are born to stand in the queues and bear their unnecessary nonsense. I suggest you better go for some other bank in Govt sector.This is not at all acceptable from private sector banks.

                                    This complaint is against the fraud where HDFC bank is involved completely. I never applied for a credit card and last month a applied for a home loan with federal bank when those guys got my civil done it was showing a big outstanding against a credit card on my name whereas i never applied for one, i satrted following up with them n everytime on my mails they kept replying that will resolve my concern in 7 working days, n did not block that card even. now when i ask them about the details they do not provide and ask for the card number, how could i provide the card number which i never recieved. How could these guys activate and deliver a card to someone without even verifying. Till date i never recieved a verification call and they say that a card from my name has been delivered on 22nd Jan' 2010 itself. I am sure that the HDFC employees are completely involved in this fraud since they made and delivered a card on my name without my concent and knowledge and today i am going to file a FIR against the bank. n this is my advice to the bank to revert to me at sugandhaa.[protected]@gmail.com or i see them at the police station first and then court.
