I have a home loan with hdfc and wanted to make a pre-payment of my home loan amount (Home loan file no[protected]. However, they wanted me to send me a cheque instead of a real time bank to bank transfer. When i posted the cheque to their london office (From a diff city), they stated that it was wrongly filled in and that i should not write the mortgage number on the front of the cheque.
They also demanded a 6 months bank statement.
They outright refused to accept the real time rtgs or neft bank to bank transfer.
Despite complaining that sending this cheque by post to their london office, which in turn will be directed to delhi hdfc by the london office will be very time consuming they would not accept any other form of home loan repayment option. I find this a hindrance towards timely quick repayment and it makes me wonder if by doing so they would rather continue to charge their monthly emis by making a profit on the high interest their charge.
When i wanted to make a complaint to their customer care or when i asked for the hdfc grievance redressal officer's contact details, i was asked to write the complaint to the london office without specifying as to how will they acknowledge it or address the issue. I was left disappointed by the hdfc, london.
